Transmission failed, Ford diagnosed it as needing the torque converter replaced, however, after this was fixed at a transmission shop, the problem persisted and that mechanic said the transmission needs to be rebuilt. My safety was out at risk when my vehicle stalled at an intersection and would not accelerate. Also, on two occasions, when the vehicle was put into reverse, it jerked forward and did not go backwards. Luckily nothing was hit in front of my vehicle, although it could have due to being in a parking spot when theirs happened. Ford confirmed an issue on 11/3/25 and another independent mechanic replaced the converter, but stayed the transmission needs to be rebuilt after that did not correct the problem. He states that the torque converter would not cause the reverse issues. Initially, no warning lamps came on, but now the wrench light and check engine light are on. Ford app gave two errors, one on 11/13/25: Powertrain malfunction/reduced power What Is Happening? The transmission control module has detected a concern when trying to shift to 8th gear. A failsafe logic disables 7th gear for the remainder of this key cycle. What Should I Do? Have your vehicle checked by an authorized dealer as soon as possible And one on 11/21/25 Powertrain Malfunction/Reduced Power: What Is Happening? The powertrain control system has detected one of the transmission clutches did not apply within the expected time as expected. Some transmission gears may not being available resulting

Dash Panel Display blanked out while driving in the morning and was dark out. It happened at least 4 times during a 45min drive into work. Could not see the speed I was going or any gauges which I don't think any of the Safety stuff was working.
The contact owns a 2022 Ford Bronco Sport. The contact stated that on every occasion while entering the vehicle, there was a fuel odor coming through the vents. The check engine warning light illuminated briefly during one occasion. The vehicle was taken to the same dealer twice and was diagnosed with a cracked coolant pump. The dealer determined that the coolant pump and the purge valve needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure persisted. The vehicle was then taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed and determined that there was fluid leaking nearby the catalytic converter; however, the mechanic was unable to take the catalytic converter apart. The mechanic also determined that the fuel injectors, the exhaust clamps and gaskets, and Oxygen sensors needed to be replaced, and the turbo charger required coolant and oil feed lines replacements. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a complaint was filed. The failure mileage was 70,000.

At approximately 7:00 p.m., it was already dark, and I relied on my vehicle’s rear parking-aid sensor to assist me while backing out of my driveway. However, the rear collision/parking-aid sensor did not activate and provided no audible or visual warnings. Because the sensor failed to operate, I continued reversing and unintentionally collided with a vehicle parked across the street. The malfunctioning sensor is still installed on the vehicle and is available for inspection upon request. The absence of any warning put my safety and the safety of others at risk, as I had no indication that another vehicle was behind me. There were no warning lamps, messages, or symptoms before the incident, and the failure was first noticed when the expected alert did not occur. After the accident, I contacted a Ford dealership and confirmed that the sensor had not activated at the time of the incident. I also verified afterward, in daylight conditions, that the sensor does work normally and provides warnings when objects are behind the vehicle. The issue has not yet been reproduced or inspected in person by a dealer or an independent service center, and the manufacturer has not examined the component. My insurance company has been notified of the collision.
There has been a recall on this issue for 4 months with no options to have it fixed. The recall clearly states that a fire may start under your hood due to the issue, which seems like an issue that should be addressed asap.
All of a sudden, when I would shift the gear to neutral or reverse the car would only drive forward. While there are other recalls related to this issue for other models, there isn’t a recall for this 2022 model. The ford dealership said it needs a new transmission and that would cost around $10,000.
The firewall on the passenger side was not sealed correctly causing water to enter behind the glove box affecting the blower motor and causing water to enter the vehicle. Causing mold under the carpet. The leak was confirmed at the Ford dealership

Car shutters and makes a lot of noise in low gears and speed. Car still has issues after repairs. Local shop unable to make final repairs due to tools needed... Ford dealer will not cover due to mileage even with TSB- 25-2351
Along with the current unable to be fixed PCM recall, the customer service satisfaction program regarding the drivers side buckle replacement and the replacement of high-pressure fuel injectors that I was told they will only replace if there is an issue because it is not considered a recall. I have had multiple other recalls that were done and several issues that weren't related to recalls. In the first year the bushings were replaced to ease the loud noise when backing up. At 36,0000 miles I had no heat. The water pump failed and was fixed under powertrain warranty. At 41000 miles (just over warranty) the AC stopped working. The condenser failed and was my responsibility to pay. Ford did work out a deal with me on that repair due to all of the other issues I had previously. Currently, my drivers side back seatbelt does not work, the car shudders when driving and recently my forward collision indicator goes off for no reason. I have not reached out to have these items checked yet as I have spent far to much time dealing with Ford. I bought this car to feel safe and confident on the road and I have never felt that. The lack of compassion from Ford for all the money wasted in missed work and repairs because they cannot produce a quality vehicle is abhorrent.
They sent me 2 papers about recalls and refused to fix it. Whatsoever, they tell me the fuel injection has to go out so they would fix it before even though they know it's bad. The second is a seat belt that click sometimes so basically they won't fix that either until it breaks completely. So what they're saying is basically the car can one be set on fire and 2 when I'm in a car crash, and I go through the window and If it fails, then they'll fix the problems. Is my understanding of it even though they're admitting there's a recall and they're refusing. To fix ithen, they said. Then when you've been at the software to fix the feeling injection problem. So why they selling cars? They don't have the software to fix the car.So I want something done about it.[XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
I own a 2022 Ford Bronco Sport (VIN: [XXX] ) that experienced a premature and unsafe transmission failure at about 75,000 miles. The issue began earlier with jerking and hesitation after stops and worsened until the vehicle displayed “Transmission Not in Park” and would not start. This created a dangerous situation at intersections and parking areas. Sioux City Ford diagnosed the issue and replaced the valve body under partial goodwill in July 2025, but the problem persisted. My service advisor said the new valve needed to “relearn” after 700 miles, but symptoms continued and the vehicle eventually became undriveable. I contacted Ford multiple times and was assigned case numbers, but received no resolution. The transmission was later confirmed failed by an independent certified shop, which replaced it at my expense ($7,711.96) along with towing ($246.10) and rental costs ($511.63). The defective parts remain available for inspection. This is a 2022 vehicle with less than 80,000 miles, and a complete transmission failure at this mileage is unreasonable and unsafe. Many other Bronco Sport owners have reported similar failures, jerking, and “Transmission Not in Park” errors linked to Ford’s 8F35 transmission. Ford has also issued Recall 24V-267000 and TSB 22B38 for related issues. This failure is not isolated and poses a significant safety concern for drivers. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 20,000.
I went to start my car it did not start but repeatedly kept trying to start itself over and over the car locked up completely i couldn't push the brake or anything it wouldn't stop it disappeared from my app..the car cranked itself repeatedly until it caught fire and electrical smoke was rolling i had to call the fire department i was parked at a dayhab for special needs had to run and have them to remove all of the special needs people in wheelchairs and or with other adaptive equipment had to run into another office building and tell them to remove their vehicles i had a serious worry that this could have hurt or even killed people they at the ford dealer that has had my car 21 days said it's the starter no way the starter just went nuts for no reason we had to call the fire department and everything they replaced the battery which my understanding has recall 24s24 which says causes glitches either someone is blaming a starter for something other than that
As you may know, my Ford Bronco 2022 is under NHTSA Recall 25V467 as of July 2025. October is approaching, and so far, Ford Motor Company has not found any remedy for this problem, which can not only cause a spontaneous engine fire, but can also cause the death of those inside the vehicle or a serious accident if it occurs while driving. My vehicle is for daily use, and I have to transport my son to school every day, risking his life and mine, with the uncertainty of the vehicle catching fire. I ask that you consider requiring Ford Motor Company to collect these vehicles or exchange them for others of the same value that are not at risk.
My car has a recall since 07/16 and manufacture has not resolved the issue.
Potential systemic issue: I purchased the 2022 Ford Bronco Sport on 06Aug2025 which is still within its warranty period. During the test drive I identified the Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) wasn't operable. The dealership stated yes that model does have it and that it is not working. All safety settings were verified on and that it should be functioning but isn't. The dealership troubleshot but couldn't identify the issue. The dealership then contacted the Ford maintenance headquarters twice and received responses to the effect of "Where looking into it" with no path forward or timeline to correct the issue. Important considerations and information: 1. This is an important safety feature that people assume is working if turned on. This is no alarm or error code showing that it has malfunctioned. 2. While driving the Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) alarms went on twice at different times. There was no vehicle in front of me, and it didn't attempt to brake. If it did auto-brake this could've caused someone to rear end me. 3. I was given loaner Ford Bronco sport, and the same safety feature and others didn't work in that one either. This leads me to think this is a systemic malfunction and not a one-off. 4. All other safety features work 5. Ford Headquarters customer service opened case# CXH-XXX. Phone: [XXX] ext. 79202. I am filing this complaint regarding a recall affecting my 2022 Ford Bronco Sport. I received a recall notice concerning the possibility of the vehicle catching fire. Despite numerous attempts to resolve the issue, Ford continues to ignore the warnings and say "we are working on fixing the issue." I feel unsafe and will not drive this vehicle until there is a resolution. Ford has taking months/years to fix this issue with no resolution in sight.
The contact owns a 2022 Ford Bronco Sport. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V467000 (Fuel System, Gasoline). The contact stated that while turning and depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle was slow to respond. There was a lag before the vehicle accelerated. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, who was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was taken to another local dealer, Fairway Ford (1350 E Yorba Linda Blvd, Placentia, CA 92870); where it was diagnosed and determined that an unknown part needed to be cleaned. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The contact called the same local dealer, who confirmed that parts were not yet available. The manufacturer was called, but the phone call was disconnected several times. The approximate failure mileage was 36,000.
My 2022 Ford Bronco Sport started making grinding noises when I would back up at an angle earlier this summer. I made an appointment and took the car to the dealership. They took it apart and determined it was the transaxle. The tech said this was a known problem, but not a recall. Luckily, I was within the 36-month warranty. However, due to trouble getting parts, the dealership has had my car for seven weeks now. The parts arrived, but they said they didn't have the right tool because this was a "fairly extensive rebuild." This vehicle has just over 28,000 miles on it.
The contact owns a 2022 Ford Bronco Sport. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, there was an abnormally strong fuel odor inside the vehicle. The contact stated that an unknown warning light was illuminated but went off independently. The contact stated that with the weather change, the heat was needed; however, the contact was concerned with the strong fuel odor inside the vehicle and stated that the odor was dangerous. The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed. The contact was provided with the cost for a diagnostic test. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The contact later received notification NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V467000 (Fuel system, Gasoline); however, parts were not yet available to repair the vehicle. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 49,136.
I noticed my coolant level dropping about a year ago. I would fill up the coolant reservoir and the coolant level would drop within a few days. The issue was from the water pump leaking. I replaced the water pump with an OEM ford water pump. One year later the coolant level is dropping, and I have the same issue again. Looking at some of the forums, this appears to be a common issue with this make and mode.
See attached document for complaint.

Rear drive train unit Which is a known problem
The hood latch and cabling mechanism continues to be a problem for Bronco Sport owners. I have dealt with the cabling detaching from the housing unit four times. This causes safety concerns because the hood cannot be opened when this issue presents. Many owners have this issue.
Very bumpy rides on the smooth highways Also creaky loud noise when given breaks. Specially when reversed driving.
I have had multiple issues with my 2022 Ford Bronco Sport in the past 3 years and there have been multiple recalls. The ac failed at the 2 year mark and the rear brakes also started to make an odd noise intermittently when I would have the vehicle in reverse. I reported it and asked Ted Britt Ford in Fairfax, VA to check it twice (this is the dealership I purchased the vehicle from - I had them check it on 7/3/24 and 9/28/24 and have service records confirming) and they said they could find nothing wrong and there was no recall for it and there was nothing they could do (keeping in mind my vehicle was under warranty at that time). Fast forward to today, I go in for an oil change and mention the rear brakes are making noise again and ask if they can check it for me. They told me there is now a remedy for the issue, acknowledging there wasn't in the past. I mentioned at the time that I had reported and asked about it twice and why should I now have to pay for that when clearly this is a defect that should have been addressed by Ford when I initially reported it (keeping in mind that my vehicle is now out of warranty). Then they tell me I need to replace the front brake pads and brake fluid for a cost of over 1k and rear rotors and brake pads for 1200, but admitted the rear brake pads are not that bad and can wait. I do not ride my brakes and have no history of that in any vehicle I've ever owned, so I did some research and learn that this is an issue with the 2022 Ford Bronco S
The contact owned a 2022 Ford Bronco. The contact stated that while driving approximately 20 MPH, while in a line of traffic and preparing to make a right turn onto another street, the contact noticed black smoke coming from under the hood of the vehicle and spontaneously there were flames coming from under the hood. No warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that a nearby good Samaritan dialed 9-1-1 and the local Fire Department arrived on scene to extinguish the flames. A Police report was filed; however, the report was unavailable. The contact sought medical attention for minor smoke inhalation. The vehicle was towed by a towing company at the request of the Insurance provider and remained at the tow lot. The vehicle was inspected; however, the source of the fire was not identified. The vehicle was deemed a total loss by the Insurance provider. The local dealer was not contacted. The contact stated that prior to the fire, the vehicle was inspected by the local dealer regarding a battery sensor error and the vehicle was repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V019000 (Electrical System). The contact related the fire to NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V467000 (Fuel System, Gasoline). The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 46,000.

I have a 2022 Ford Bronco Big Bend that I bought brand new, and just three years later, the transmission completely failed—without any warning signs. No lights, no noises, no slow shifting. It just suddenly died while I was driving and left me stranded in the middle of the highway, which was incredibly dangerous. I immediately tried to move over to the right lane, but the car was behaving erratically— accelerating, slowing down, braking, then speeding up again on its own. Once it was taken to the mechanic, they found the shifter wasn’t even functioning properly. When placed in neutral, the car would accelerate. When placed in drive, it would go backward, and when in reverse, it would go forward. It was officially diagnosed with transmission failure after I had it towed to my nearest dealership. I’ve maintained this vehicle responsibly and have never driven it roughly or taken it off-road. Still, I was quoted nearly $10,000 to replace the transmission, which is outrageous for a three-year-old SUV. Ford refuses to cover the repair, even though this seems like a serious manufacturing issue. I’m still making payments on the vehicle, and now it’s completely unusable. I’ve heard of similar things happening to other ford broncos and I want there to be a full recall because it’s clearly a major problem.
Regarding TSB 24-2185 RDU is faulty. The factory RDU vent hose needs to be upgraded due to the default hose venting road debris into the rear differential. This needs to be a recall.
What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? AutoNation Ford Corpus Christi found purge valve making abnormal clicking sound, valve sticking and closed. I replaced the valve with a new OEM part. Code P04F0 came off but vehicle would still lag and sputter when accelerating. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? feels like vehicle can hesitate or stop while accelerating and get rear ended Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Took vehicle back to AutoNation Corpus Christi and the tech's cannot find anything wrong with the vehicle but there is definitely an obvious issue. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? Inspected by AutoNation Corpus Christi technicians and they cannot pinpoint the issue. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? Warning light code P04F0 comes on, recommended purge valve replaced but issue vehicle still lags and sputters when accelerating.
Vehicle stutters when driving at slower speeds, usually between 22-27 MPH. After purchasing my vehicle used I have found that others have been reporting the same issue, to include in brand new Bronco Sports, and have been advised that is just how they are. Switching to sport mode does seem to help but the stutters occurs at different speeds. There has been no known part identified as causing the issue. There are no warnings displayed and no codes showing.
I bought my vehicle brand new and have received several recall notices and have had to have repairs done for common issues not featured in recalls but maybe service bulletins. I have had the water pump replaced 2x in the last 2 years Rear differential replaced completely linked to the recalled issue. PCM software is being recalled for the second time in 2 years. I’ve have owned exclusively ford and this model has been a near nightmare. I get my cars serviced regularly so it’s definitely not due to lack of maintenance but instead seems as if the 2022 bronco sport model was tainted from the manufacturer.
In 2022 I bought my bronco and took it in for the transmission going into the wrong gear and coming out of park. They said yes that’s happening and did something with the programming. It continued to run funny and have occasional issues with shifting which I assumed was in my head. Yesterday however I found out it wasn’t. I turned my bronco on and put it in reverse but it just started reviving and didn’t move so I tried drive same thing so I turned it off then back on all of a sudden it made a bang and lunged into reverse in front of a car and I almost got hit. I also when to pull out a few weeks prior and my car didn’t go and I almost got hit. Today my bronco stalled on the highway I was able to coast off the road but it then sounded like a chainsaw and wouldn’t go into any gear so I had it towed. I get the three chance rule however I feel like in the case due to repeated and extensive safety concern they need to do something. I also am not the only 2022 bronco owner with these exact issues as I found others on online forums with the same things.
Backup camera is blue screened. Says to see dealer . Vehicle only has 28,009 miles on it. Thx
The contact owns a 2022 Ford Bronco Sport. The contact stated that the vehicle slightly hesitated while depressing the start button. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact then received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V019000 (Electrical System). The contact scheduled an appointment to have the vehicle serviced; however, the dealer informed the contact that the vehicle needed to be kept overnight for the repair. Due to other commitments, the contact was unable to leave the vehicle overnight and declined the services at that time. The contact then stated that while driving 20 MPH, the vehicle shut off with the parking brake warning light flashing on the instrument panel. The contact was left stranded in the middle of the road, activated the hazard lights, and was able to restarted the vehicle, and drove to the residence. The contact stated that the vehicle had since failed to start with an unknown service message flashing on the instrument panel. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 32,000.
I originally submitted a claim in November before I received the diagnostic report back on my trasmission, so this is the updated information. On November 1, 2024, I was driving to work and my transmission failed. I service my car very regularly at the same Ford dealership and they know how much I drive, so I always listen their recommendations for matienance. I did take my to a transmission specialist to rebuild my transmission as well as diagnose the mode of failure for my transmission. When I asked him whether it was wear and tear or something else, he told me he did not believe that it was wear and tear and that it was due to something internally coming off and overtime hitting my transmission gears and overtime it was starting to hit some of the lower gears and by that time my transmission failed. This is a somewhat newer car. I have spend almost $5000 just to rebuild my tranmission on a two year old car. There is no way for me to be able to anticipate this happening, it sounds like a manufacter defect to have something come off internally. The only way to diagnose it as well is to take apart the transmission which alone costs hundreds of dollars. I did reach out to the service shop to get a written statement of what happened from the techinican. If there is anything else I need to support my case, please let me know.
I am not quite familiar with the name of the lights on the bottom of my vehicle they sometimes come on and sometimes they do not. When I back up it sounds like my tires are rubbing against something and when I pull forward it sounds the same.
Break stated feeling a thumping while driving, not breaking, ABS sensor came on dashboard. Car stated giving me a collision warning, pre-collision not available, hill assistant warning, Blind spot detection with cross traffic, and service advance tracking. ABS sensor is faulty. My car is stuck on slippery mode, it’s hard to turn, electrical system is faulty. Goats is not working, I can’t turn options on or off. And it became hard to steer. I had the battery recall done. Left from dealer and they assured me that this will fix the issue. It came all back about 30 seconds after I left the dealership.
Vehicle locked up while driving. Has a new battery already. Full aux electrical function is fine but after shut down while driving will not restart, shift out of gear, roll or steer. All electrical works fine. To tow onto flat bed, had to drag the tires.
Turbo blew because of emissions systems and I never got alerts tht there was a problem but ford could see all the notifications
Exhaust smell inside cabin, louder than normal exhaust
Many Bronco Sports have had this loud roaring in the rear and Ford had several patches to this issue, but none fixed the issue. Ford instructed the dealership to not attempt any more remedies to this repair until Ford had a "fix". After calling the dealership for months about the "fix" Ford was suppose have before the 4th quarter of 2024, but did not, now does not want to repair these vehicles under the warranty when the issue started and was bought to their attention. They have since stated that the repair is to replace the rear rotors and brakes as they had bearings that were coming apart causing this noise, but does not want to honor this repair. The dealership was well aware of the issue and could only advise me and others to please be patient until Ford approved a remedy for this issue, which me and many others did. We just want this to be a recall so that it can be covered as this could have caused serious issues had this part come apart upon driving or locking up and cause an accident.

NHTSA publishes every complaint as the owner wrote it and investigates only a fraction. Spelling, capitalisation and judgement are the filer’s own. What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
