A loud moan is noted when the car is reversing. I have taken it to the dealer and was told they couldn’t find anything wrong with the vehicle. I have recorded the sound to show the dealer because I have another appointment for the same issue on October 30, 2023.

My 2021 Bronco failed our family on Friday. The Bronco failed to start upon pressing the start and brake pedal. The main console panel started flashing then cycling through all kinds of failure alerts. There was a series loud noises from the engine, the headlights flashed off and on for over 3 minutes and then the engine started smoking. The doors would not open and we were stuck inside while the engine was smoking. That smoke came through the air vents as well. Finally, I was able to get my door open though couldn’t open my son’s rear passenger side door from the outside. He was stuck inside for what seemed like forever. He was able to open it finally and I carried him inside. My son’s legs are paralyzed and he does not walk. My main concern was getting him to a safe place as I was scared to death that the engine was going to explode in that moment. The engine smoke started to ease up however the electrical burning smell was overwhelming. This all took place in my garage. The trunk would not unlock and my key fob would not engage with the vehicle at all during this time. The trunk hatch lock finally disengaged and I was finally able to get his wheelchair out. Everything failed. I could not get the Bronco into neutral at any point. The Bronco is currently at my local Ford dealer where I was told I have to wait a week before it can even be looked at. I was told "it's just the battery...." There is NO way my experience was "just the battery." As of 10/10/2023 no one from corpor

Bought 2021 bronco sport in Dec 21. Since my engine has stuttered and started to die. The panel starts falling as if it is sitting off. This is not the auto engine shut off while idling at a light issue. Upon starting the engine you can hear a ticking and on every certain revelation the vehicle will sputter and start to cut off. It has died on 2 occasions in my driveway, but not yet on the road. It will stutter and start to die almost always in idle, especially in park, but it will do it and stay losing power mainly while driving low speeds or when not pressing gas pedal. I received recall and was told part was not available and didn't know when it would be available and have never been told part was available, but miraculously my recall order was closed without parts ever being replaced. This is like mist of the 8 recalls on this vehicle. 6 recalls where made before the vehicle came off of the train car. 6 recalls were still active the night I drove off the lot AFTER SERVICE WAS CLOSED. My first service was flat spots in my tires from sitting in a train car in Florida heat for 3 months, no parts were replaced, feb and March of last year the recall was closed before my car was in the shop... My dealership is clearing recalls and not reels my vehicle. They are taking advantage of my mental disabilities.

There is a known issue with 2021-2022 Ford Bronco Sports with the rear brakes. When in reverse, and the brakes are pressed, they make a loud moaning sound. The fix issued by Ford in 2022 states that any of this model produced prior to 9/23/22 are experiencing the noise. The recommended action is to replace the calipers and bushings. This has been done on my vehicle, but the moaning continues. I have been told by the dealership that I will just have to deal with it, but I do not feel safe in the vehicle. The car is making a noise it should not, and I do not know if this is causing harm to any other parts of my brake system or not. I do not want to endanger mine or anyone else's life and Ford has no resolution.

Since dec 2021, buying vehicle, I've not had real heat, you can turn heat to 86 and above and have heat, nothing in between. Was told they needed to speak to engineer to fix problem. I took it back in needing heat again, and was told if I only use automatic and set temperature, I could have a temporary solution for zero heat and they would find a more permanent solution. My vehicle is almost 2 years old and i still have not had an engineer diagnose and fix my heat. I've been told by dealership that temporary fix should be sufficient or to sell my bronco.

While driving vehicle will flash place hands on wheel while hands are on the wheel. It will then turn off sound system and cut off adaptive features until I shake my steering wheel irrationally to the left and right. It will also jerk the vehicle into other lanes to try and correct to stay in lane, while I'm inside of the lines issuing the adaptive driving features. If there is a break in the lines, ie: turning lane or intersection the adaptive wants to jerk course into other lanes. While driving down the expressway, if a car on either side brakes around me the collision control takes over and slams on the brakes. Most of the limits near me are 70!! Going 70 and slamming down to 50 before i can regain control has almost gotten me killed several times here in Florida!! I've informed dealership, but they claim the sensors are not throwing codes. This also has been happening since purchasing this vehicle.

When reversing there is the absolute worst extremely loud embarrassing metallic screeching sound, considerable to a ships horn. Once you press brake fully and come to a complete stop the sounds ceases, let go of the brake it come right back. You can put it in drive and then back to reversing, same thing. Dealership was informed in 2022, said they fixed it. Spring/Summer of 2023 after complaining again was told part was ordered, could not be told what part. September 2023 was told no part was ordered, issue was fixed. October 2023 had a male take my bronco in for repairs and answers, parts are now reordered, parts are back ordered since this is a recall, no time frame on repair. When you check my vin for recalls, all recalls are closed. I am under the impression that my Dealership never has done recall work and only clearing them off as completed.

Around 08/22 backup camera failed and now there is a dent in the tailgate area. I have documentation from the dealership, finally that the backup camera was not working properly. On about May 23, 2023, I stopped at a local grocery store for just a few items. When I came back out my car would not even attempt to turn over (approx. 24,000 miles). Had to wait three hours for roadside assistance to use a jump box to get it started (would not jump-start like a normal vehicle). The next morning it was dead again, and I had to call an Uber to get my child to school, not acceptable. I took it to the dealership again, and after three days they replaced the battery.....I had not even owned the vehicle for two years, it had 6 miles on it when I bought it, and it needs a new battery? Now it is 09/22/23, the dealership has had my car since the morning of 09/13/23 and I still don't have it back. There are issues with the safety features (lane departure doesn't work, front crash assist goes off randomly, backup camera STILL doesn't work half of the time, keep hands on steering wheel alert when both hands are on steering wheel, key not detected alert after I've been driving and the key is with me, stereo still playing when I disconnect the phone and exit out of all music apps on phone it just still plays music even music that I have never listened to). 2021 Bronco Sport 40k- During the drive home while sitting at an intersection while in eco mode, the car lost all power. No dash, hazard lights, etc. After stepping out of the vehicle for about 15 minutes, I tried again, and still no power. Contacted a tow company for assistance and had the car towed to the closest Ford dealer. The dealer was unable to replicate the problem but did state there was a recall on the fuel system. Time for this car to be traded since I can't rely on it to keep me safe.

When trying to start the vehicle, it would not crank. Instead, all dash indicator lights, interior lights, and exterior lights began flashing. Numerous random error messages began flashing on the dashboard screen. Then a large plume of smoke began coming out from under the hood and there was an acrid burning smell. No flames were visible so the fire department would not respond when called and advised to have it towed. After much difficulty loading onto a tow truck (the parking brake would not disengage--dash indicated a parking brake fault as one of the many errors--so it had to be dragged onto the flatbed tow truck) the vehicle was towed to the local dealership in Dothan, AL. Per the dealership, there was an underhood fire involving the starter and battery. We are unable to inspect the damaged components. They stated they are unable to remedy the smoke smell that has permeated the vehicle despite the disabling lung conditions of one of our family members. We have tried numerous times over the last 9 months to get the dealership to perform service required by NHTSA Recall # 22V859, but they keep stating the parts are unavailable. They will not say whether this underhood fire is directly related to the recall already in effect.

I currently am at 14,000 miles on my2021 Bronco Sport. I have had no issues prior to what happened to me on August 9th. While I was at a light my car went completely black with no warning and I was not able to put on hazard lights or put it in neutral to get off the busy highway. I had to call 911 as cars were zipping up close to mine and I was only able to wave my arms to get them to see my car was unoccupied. I was screamed at, honked at all while frantic trying to explain to the 911 operator that I needed a deputy to come and put his lights on behind my car to prevent an accident. My car sat in the middle of the highway with no warning lights on until a tow truck arrived. We then found out there is a way to release the gear and put it into neutral so we could push it to the side of the road. The car was towed to the house where I then had to have another tow truck come get it and tow it to the dealership where i was already waiting for a part. (Differential) At this point it has now been 8 days and i have no updates on what actually happened to my car but in my discovery I have read that this is a more common occurrence than not. Just while waiting in the Enterprise waiting room, waiting for my rental I met a girl with the same exact issue. How many others is this happening to and when will Ford recall this model car before someone is killed? I want answers and want to make sure when they say my car is fixed that it truly is fixed. After spending Sunday preparing for the week at my small business, I was driving home on the highway just before 10:00PM at approximately 55 miles per hour. As I traveled toward a T intersection there was a sedan that had been stopped at their respective stop sign; I quickly approached and the vehicle pulled out abruptly in an attempt to cross both eastbound lanes and travel westbound on the four-lane divided highway. Though all attempts were made on my part to prevent it, the broadside collision occurred in the right eastbound lane at a high rate of speed; driver's side front end damage to my vehicle and rear driver's side damage to the sedan. Angled in the middle of both eastbound lanes of traffic, my vehicle became disabled due to the deployment of the driver's knee airbag. However, the chest airbag did NOT deploy and resulted in a severe whiplash injury. 1. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? Driver's Air Bag. Yes, original is still installed in vehicle. 2. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? I personally sustained a severe whiplash injury due to the chest air bag NOT deploying. To this day I do not feel 100% safe driving the vehicle as the original airbag is still installed; if it didn't deploy the first time and I sustained debilitating injuries, how can I, or the next owner, be confident it will ever deploy?! 3. My husband was driving down a mountain highway when suddenly he heard a loud noise. He pulled over and found the moonroof glass had shattered. There were no cars around and no signs that something had hit it—we think it was glass failure due to a pressure change. Ford has had issues with moonroof glass spontaneously shattering on other vehicles and there are a few reports online about it happening to other Bronco Sports. Ford will not take responsibility and says we need to file an insurance claim. This is a major safety issue—my husband could have been seriously injured if the moonroof cover had been open and glass had fell on him.

I had no option to put on hazard lights etc. Had this happened on the interstate, it would have been incredibly dangerous. The police helped us get it started with a jump-box but on the way home it started to bonk out again which included a message regarding the system shutting down. This vehicle is just two years old and has 38,000 miles. Meticulously maintained from day one. It is equipped with the start/stop feature. On July 8, 2023 when stopping for traffic at a U-turn lane on a heavy traveled highway the engine shut off and the entire vehicle went dead, leaving the car unable to re-start or move. Since there is no fail safe means of taking the vehicle out of gear (automatic transmission) it could not be moved out of harms way. The Hazard flashers also would not work due to the electrical failure. Emergency vehicles arrived and saved us from a rear end collision by blocking the lane of travel. Vehicle has an extended service plan and was towed to the nearest Ford dealer where a system check was performed and revealed that the battery had failed. According to the service adviser this is a common occurrence with the Bronco Sport model and they have anticipated a safety recall which has yet to be issued. The replacement of the battery at my expense corrected the problem. I wish to point out the fact that the failure of the battery in this model vehicle creates a highly dangerous situation which could lead to injuries or death. I can see no reason for the failure of the battery since it gave no indications of being in a low charge state. It merely failed without warning. The vehicle is not equipped with analog gauges so the state of charge is in no way indicated without selecting an onboard computer AP. Again, this vehicle gave no indication of a problem

After coming down an incline in my garage at work I stopped at a red light, took my foot off of the brake to let the brake assist kick in and my auto idle kicked off as well. Within seconds my car shut off and the instrument panel started flickering. I got SEVERAL error messages flashing by quickly including the "Park Brake Malfunction Service Now" error. I tried to turn the car back on and kept hearing a clicking sound followed by all of the lights flashing again. I couldn't shift to any other gear and was stuck at this intersection unable to move the car or get the windows to open or do anything. Opened the hood to check the battery and everything looked clean and tightly connected. Jiggled the terminal and let it shut down completely. Tried starting again and it worked this time. This has happened once in this same spot before. I took it in to the dealership and they are currently "trying to recreate the issue to get the error message." The true safety concern is for this to happen while on the highway or even in the middle of an intersection. It seems to happen out of nowhere and the fact that the car cannot be put in neutral doesn't even allow for moving it to a safer location.

After 2 years, I have still been unable to get an appointment with any Ford dealership to repair the 3 issues that have warranted recalls of my vehicle, my car is almost 3 years old and only has 18,000 miles on it because I do not feel safe driving it due to it not have the necessary repairs. I find it alarming that I can get in for an oil change or any other maintenance issue but not for a safety issue.

While driving on the interstate at 65-70mph, my Bronco Sport lost all acceleration randomly. The engine would rev, but there was no acceleration. I had no indication of errors (no engine light, etc.) Before this happened, I was using the adaptive cruise control. I had to pull over and power cycle the vehicle to fix the issue. This was while traffic was busy with cars flying by me. I have not taken it to a dealership or had it diagnosed yet, but this shouldn't be something that happens anyways. Not only was this scary, it was a huge safety risk as it could have caused a wreck.

NHTSA publishes every complaint as the owner wrote it and investigates only a fraction. Spelling, capitalisation and judgement are the filer’s own. What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
