The car has now on at least 6 occasions started to shake and rapidly decelerate after I pressed the brake to slow down or make a turn. The car dashboard then starts flashing the following warning signs: 1. "Brake system malfunction service required"; 2) "ASAS fault- Features Limited or unavailable. Drive Carefully"; and 3) "Battery Level low." Please charge battery now." The vehicle's steering wheel then starts to shake and the car then comes to a complete stop and shuts down. This has happened several times on crowded roadways putting me at risk of being rear-ended. The deceleration is very rapid and without any warning. I have a video of the car doing this and can send to you. Please note that the warnings on the dash appear to be inaccurate because each time this has happened the battery level has been sufficiently charged (making the "Battery Level low" warning completely non-sensical." I have reported this issue three times to the manufacturer Fisker. Once when I called for road-side assistance. On that occasion a company representative walked me through a reboot of the vehicle. I was hoping this would solve the problem but it didn't. The car has since done same thing about 5 to 6 times. I have sent Fisker two emails alerting them to the safety issue. The first emails was sent on January 10th and the second on January 15. In the second email I included a video of one of the above-referenced occurrences. In response to my emails Fisker assigned me two case numbers and pro

Firstly I think I must inform you that I am reporting this from the UK, I am a US citizen but live part time in the UK and this was a UK delivered car. I have also reported this to the UK DVSA. This is to report two problems that I think you should know about, both of which are potentially life threatening. 1.My wife became locked in the car and could only exit after the computer was rebooted. There is an electrically activated "Dead Bolt" that prevents the door handle from opening the door, this is under the control of the computer. If the computer system has a glitch, which it seems to have every time the car is driven, then the "Dead Bolt" may not release trapping one in the car. It seems ridiculous that this design has passed even a basic safety review. There should be a purely mechanical connection between the inside door handle and the lock, or a secondary emergency release handle. Imagine being trapped in the car after an accident with possibly a fire or the car filling with water and being unable open the door. There are many other reports of people being trapped in this model car on the Fisker forums etc. The Fisker UK sales manager told me of an incident where all 4 passengers were locked in the car for hours before a Fisker technician released them. I have returned the car to Fisker and have just received my money back, after telling them I would not drive the car again because of this potential safety issue. I think these cars should be taken off the road until th
When braking on pavement that is in any way uneven or bumpy, the brake pedal vibrates and then the car jumps forward and you have to jump on the brakes to stop. This has happened many times and I can replicate it. A warning that brakes need servicing comes on every time I start the vehicle and the ADAS is not functioning properly alarm comes on in inclement weather every minute and sometimes in perfectly sunny weather randomly for no reason.
The contact owns a 2023 Fisker Ocean. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the brake system malfunction warning light and regenerative braking message were displayed. Additionally, the contact stated that the brake pedal was soft while depressed and made an abnormal sound. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer; however, the vehicle was pending a diagnostic test. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was opened. The approximate failure mileage was 700.
Passenger door wouldn't open, passenger had to climb across vehicle to exit.
When applied the break for the signal, the car doesnt stop immediately. It jumps and drags for a second and stops. Also, the car when stopped and when you remove your leg from the brakes, it goes behind and need to apply the gas pedal to push it forward.
The contact owns a 2023 Fisker Ocean. The contact stated that messages indicating that the Forward Collision Avoidance cameras and sensors, and the regenerative braking system failure were displayed. The contact stated that the messages disappeared after the vehicle went into a deep sleep mode. The contact stated that the failure had been recurring intermittently. Additionally, the contact stated while driving at various speeds with Fun or Hyper Mode activated, there was an abnormal sound coming from the rear of the vehicle. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that a technician had been assigned to service the vehicle; however, the contact had not received assistance in the past two months. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 10.
Passenger door failed to unlock or open from inside the car after parking. Passenger pulled on the handle multiple times but the door would not open. The driver got out of the car and attempted lock and unlock the car with the Key FOB and used the exterior handle to open the car but unsuccessful. After approx 10 minutes of trying all sequences of locking, unlocking, getting back in the driver side the passenger door finally unlocked. Service request submitted to company but
When drivig the car for approximately 5 miles at 55 miles per hour the car lost all power and would not accelerate coasted to the side of the road and had to have car towed.
Car doesn’t stop someone when pressing the brake . Also getting warning that emergency brake are not working . 2 incidents reported to Fisker when door swing open and batter died and car completely dead
On two isolated occasions the passenger front door would not open from the inside with the door unlocked, my wife tried topen the door several times but would not open. I locked and unlocked the door, then it operated properly. On another occasion the rear passenger door would not open from the outside. Again locking and unlocking the door resolved the problem. I am not sure iff htere is an interior manual release for the doors.
1. The car rolling back immediately after foot is off of brakes pedal with even a minor steepness in the road or parking space, that could be very dangerous upon stopping behind a red lights, or any other situations that another car is right behind this car such as getting in or out of tight parking spots. 2. The car brakes are not reliable. They feel spongy and you can not adjust how hard and how fast they should be pushed down. In 2 occasions I had a closed call hitting the car in front of my car in highway. 3. Sometimes you feel that the car accelerates in an unpredictable fashion but for a short period of time 4. Although promised , there is no cruise control either regular or adaptive in this car Despite of several call, emails, and making web-based services requests, nothing has been done so far to resolve this issues
The brakes became momentarily inoperable while driving over a pothole or puddle of water. The brakes momentarily stopped braking the car as I was decelerating over the pothole, which caused me to come very close to colliding with the vehicle in front of me. No collision occured but after the pothole, I had to apply the brakes aggressively to stop in time. This issue has occurred multiple times The problem has not been reproduced by a service center or the manufacturer, nor has a request been made to them yet No inspections have occurred on the vehicle. No other symptoms or warning lights related to this issue
* Blind spot warning false positives, i.e., showing a warning on the left side while on the left-most lane of the motorway with no cars to my left * Lane Departure steering is not responsive, it does not nudge the car back into the lane, but instead the steering is resistive, requiring additional effort to force the car back into the lane
Braking does not work as designed when driving over potholes, bumps, or uneven pavement. The car actually speeds up without accelerating. Very dangerous to say the least. Attempts to resolve through Fisker corporate have been unsuccessful. ADAS functions; lane assist, front collision, and abs braking randomly become unavailable in inclement weather. Mainly when it rains or snows. Fisker provided no spare tire. There is however a flat tire kit. Included in the kit is a bottle of tire sealant. The bottle of tire sealant was not properly sealed and leaked out in the trunk. All concerns have been reported multiple times to Fisker with multiple service tickets created. Non have been resolved since reporting beginning 11/7/23.
"Auto Emergency Braking" and "Lane Keep System" warning messages are constantly being displayed when car is driven at particular azimuth and angle directions relative to the sun. Assuming these systems are truly unavailable, this is a major safety hazard. Even if the systems are available, but the sensors are in error, this is still a major problem since the systems trigger both audible and visual warnings presenting a distraction to the driver. The last time I drove the car I received over 1 dozen individual system warning messages during the course of a 10 mile drive. Fisker has told me that this problem cannot be corrected via a software update. This is an inherent design problem where Fisker is aware of the issue, as they knew it only occurred during driving while facing the sun. They have refused to have a technician correct the problem.
I was driving on [XXX] in the Dallas area when the parking brake suddenly and unexpectedly engaged. I tried to disengage it manually using the button to the left of the steering wheel, but it would not disengage. Due to the higher speed of being on a state highway, the vehicle quickly became unstable and within a few seconds the brakes locked up and I went into a spin crossing two lanes in the process. I was lucky that no other vehicles were in the path of travel and I eventually came to a stop pointing the wrong way on a 6 lane highway. Even after coming to a stop I could not disengage the parking brake. I forced the car to drive with the brake engaged and I pulled off the road and got out of the vehicle. Smoke was pouring from the braking system and upon inspection of the wheels, both rear wheels were on fire (which I took video of). I tried calling the Fisker support line to get some help, but was informed that the app was also not working and I would need to submit a ticket, which I did (case [XXX]). Eventually the flames died out and I was able to get back into the car and “carefully” drive it home. This was not the first time the Software in the Vehicle malfunctioned, but it was the first time that I felt at risk of being harmed. I am no longer driving the vehicle as I am concerned about its safety. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
This vehicle has numerous software problems. The biggest one is hat there is no roll away prevention. If the car is placed in reverse, and stars moving, if no other imputs are given by the driver the car will continue to roll. Als, if the drivers door is opened during this manuver, the roll continues. This is also true if the car is in drive and at a stop on a hill. If the brake is released the car will roll backwards and will not stop. Opening the drivers door will not initiate engagement of the brakes either. This is a very unsafe thing to have a 3 ton object rolling with no way for the vehicle to detect it is free rolling. It is unlikely that this situation would happen, but if there was a medical emergency or a sudden loss of consciousness, distraction or something else. the outcome could be very bad. Fisker needs to be more proactive addressing their software and improve its vehicles. It is a good vehicle with crappy software.
The vehicle started displaying random Brake malfunctioning alerts, and the vehicle did not stop even while applying brakes causing a bit of a panic. This repeated again today while driving back from the gym, so this is a concern and unsafe to drive the vehicle. Raised tickets with the company with no responses or anyone to reach out to. Vehicle is just a month old and several other issues from battery, key fob connectivity, apps glitches etc.
The vehicle drives forward when you put it in reverse. I almost hit the car parked in front of me. The manufacturer has no interest in fixing the problem. this is on top of multiple issues with this car: All the ADAS features are not working and sending false warnings, slamming the breaks when identifying a shadow in front of the vehicle etc.. This car should have not been allowed on the road and it is only a question of time before someone is going to get hurt.
First, the vehicle does not hold on any degree of incline. The vehicle comes with "strong regenerative braking", but when coming to a stop on a hill and taking one's foot off the accelerator, the vehicle drifts backward as if it were in neutral. It will continue backwards and gain speed, creating a danger to the driver and vehicles behind it. When one's foot is on the brake pedal and the driver switches from the brake pedal to the accelerator pedal, the car drifts backward and the accelerator pedal does not engage in drive mode until what seems like halfway into pressing it. When the vehicle finally goes forward, it lunges. We live in a mountainous environment, and I have already had two close calls where the vehicle drifted backward, as if in neutral, and the driver behind me honked his horn. There is no indication on the driver's display or any sound to identify this error. I have emailed the manufacturer and called them twice with no return message. I first noticed this problem on the day of delivery to my home: 11/17/2023. The action is reproducible at all times. The vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance reps, but social media threads online point to this problem as common enough. The second problem is an ADAS warning light indicating a front collision collision fault and that emergency braking is not available. These lights are active even after a soft reset of the vehicle's software. These lights have been illuminated since delivery of
I have noticed a number of times that when I push the stalk on the Fisker, which is supposed to move it from Drive to Park, that it has gone from Drive to Neutral. I have caught this happening probably 6 or so times in the 150 drives I have taken in the last two months. The solution has normally been that I take my foot off the brake and notice the car rolling backwards before getting out, put my foot back on the brake and then put it in park. On 12-12, I was in a bit of a rush, undid my seatbelt, grabbed my bag off the seat and then opened the door and got out. Within a split second, I was slammed by the door, rolled under the door and was knocked to the ground. The car continued to roll. I was able to get up, jump in the car, and stop it before it hit another car, but it just as easily could have been a person.
Issue 1 : The car over bumpy roads loses the regenerative braking and accelerates. During this time (~1-2 sec), the manual brakes don't function and response is delayed but ultimately comes to life followed by the ABS functioning. Frequency of event occurrence: Multiple times. Issue 2 : The car detects false collision and automatically brakes itself coming to a full stop even if there is no car/obstacle around. This has happened both at low (~ 10 mph) as wells as high speeds (~ 40 mph), both during the day as well as night. Frequency of event occurrence: 4 times. Fisker's response: The tech has tried to fix the problem twice during two different visits by updating the software version of the car. However, during the test drive he has reproduced the loss of regen and brake failure even after the software upgrade. Separately, while driving to work after the upgrade I have been able to reproduce the problem of false collision and braking. I have informed and updated both the customer care hotline, local Fisker contact, local supervisor and other Fisker team members. Multiple cases has been already created with the Fisker team about all issues.
On 12/4/23, I parked the vehicle in my garage after driving approximately 40 miles. A strong burning plastic smell was present upon exiting my vehicle. Smell was not apparent in my vehicle. Contacted Fisker that day and told to not drive it except to move it out of my garage away from home and told tech will be contact me that day or next. Created online service ticket on 12/6/23 after no contact by Fisker. On 12/8/23, Fisker contacted me about ADAS faults and updated rep on burning plastic smell. Rep noted file was not updated with this info. Rep indicated she would create ticket and I should hear from them shortly. No response ever received.
We took our brand new car on its first road trip and drove over 400 miles when the hood of the car suddenly flew up blocking our view while driving 55mph on 11/20/23. The hood bent forward hitting the front windshield leaving an etching of the Fisker logo on the glass but thankfully did not break it. The hood was bent up and dented, damaging the side fenders as well as the brackets. We were lucky to have avoided a major accident since the hood totally obstructed our view driving high speed on a highway. Our car has been at a Fisker facility and the supposed plan is to inspect and replace the hood, brackets, fenders and possibly the front windshield. We know of multiple others who had the same experience and actually spoke to someone who had the same accident days before ours. Fisker is fully aware. There were no warning lamps or alarms on the dashboard prior to the hood releasing and hitting the windshield. The hood is held on by two supposedly tightened bolts and does not appear to have a secondary safety latch.
Took delivery of the Fisker Ocean One on Saturday, December 2, 2023. Upon driving home in the freeway on Sunday, December 3, 2023, the hood flipped open and completely obstructed my view of the road. The hood slammed against the windshield (but did not break the windshield) and popped off the rear view mirror. Hood is bent, as well as causing body damage. The hood is supposed to be secured with two bolts in the front end. My assumption is that the hood was not properly secured prior to delivery. There was no way to know this was an issue unless you pulled off the front panel to examine the bolts and if they are securely fastened. Though no bodily injury occurred and no other vehicles were in the incident, this was incredibly dangerous as I had my full view obstructed, while traveling freeway speeds on the freeway. A ticket has been issued to the manufacturer but they have yet to examine the vehicle and the damages. Unknown if this is a design flaw or neglect by delivery team of inspections. There are now alerts or warnings about the hood not being secured.
While driving southbound on I-95 from Washington, DC to toward Richmond, on a stretch of the highway with three lanes and a constant flow of traffic across all lanes, the driver ahead of me swerved to avoid two cars ahead of her who had stopped for unknown reasons. I saw her tail lights light up and then almost immediately watched her swerve only to see the practically parked cars in my lane (left-most). At this point my following distance was greatly reduced. I immediately stepped on the brake which vibrated and felt more plastic rather than elastic (which had happened a couple of times before at low maneuvering speeds but still applying braking force). With cold weather and slight rain at 9:50am ET, the car practically slid and I did not feel ABS engaging. It was as if the tires seized up. The car is supposed to have a full suite of ADAS features and Automatic Emergency Braking was supposed to be available from mid-2023 (whereas other features are allegedly delayed until later in the year). To say I was disappointed with the car's handling of this situation would be an understatement. 5,000 of these vehicles have been delivered across the world and about 3,000 to 4,000 in the US. Several others have reported issues/experiences like mine online. This car is simply not safe until the software has been rectified. We were led to believe that just infotainment and miscellaneous system software was lacking but clearly this is affecting critical safety systems. Another system know
I'm driving on hill/uneven pavement, either foot off of the accelerator (regen engaged and on high) or foot on the brake pedal and actively pushing the brake. The brake disengages and the car lurches forward. Feels the the car is being push forward for a split second. Making it a dangerous situation. It happens offen And brake rattling noise coming from the brake pedal when coming to a full stop
The contact owns a 2023 Fisker Ocean. The contact stated while driving 40 MPH and attempting to slow down, the brake pedal shuddered, and the vehicle displayed the "Regenerative Braking Offline” message on the instrument panel. The Advanced Driver Assistance System warning light was illuminated. The contact also stated that the failure began shortly after the vehicle received an over-the-air software update. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic to be diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was 500.
*driver's door failed to open from the inside--door appear to be unlocked as the door handle on the outside was extended. Had to crawl across the center console to exit the vehicle *Blind spot and lane assit fail to function periodically (probably 50 percent of the time)
I have experienced this issue 4 or 5 separate times. The issue seems to occur while driving over rough, uneven/bumpy roads. While driving over a bumpy road either with foot off of both pedals and regenerative braking engaged OR with foot on the brake pedal and actively/physically braking, suddenly and without warning the brake disengages and the car lurches forward with such force as to snap my head back into the headrest. I have been lucky that there were no pedestrians or other cars in front of me when these issues have occurred but unless it's fixed it's only a matter of time before it causes an accident. I have reported this issue to Fisker but have not heard back from them as to a fix. I have seen others reporting this issue as well in online forums such as Fiskerati.
I have had Fisker for over a month now and it is not a drivable vehicle at the moment as it poses serious safety issues with numerous parts or functionality showing errors and suddenly not available. I would like these issues to be addressed ASAP within 30 days. There is no service center or service or place available where I can take this vehicle to showcase the issues and where the appropriate fixes can be done, which to my mind are non-available. There are many owners on Facebook and other blogs complaining about these issues. Yesterday, I was about to rear-end the vehicle in front due to regenerative braking not working. This vehicle is not fit to be permitted for sale, more so in working condition, creating safety issues. Many safety features stop working in the middle of the drive. If my complaint is not addressed within 7 days, I will be forced to initiate legal action and also informing NTSA about the issues. This vehicle is not safe to drive as the functionality suddenly disappears, the vehicle fails to go into gear, regenerative breaking stops functioning, Lane keeping assist stops functioning, not able to open the vehicle, and most of the time remote or FOB is not working rendering the vehicle inoperable. This vehicle has been delivered to make or sustain the company. The management and the company have no regard for passenger safety and just rushed the vehicle to market. It is not a safe vehicle, with more than 25 issues with its various features, quite a few of t
I received my vehicle on 10/14. At that time, I noticed a warning light on the dashboard that I identified in the owner’s manual as “airbag fault.” I emailed Fisker support about this problem on 10/30. After receiving no response from Fisker, I finally called them today and was told that my issue had been “escalated” on 10/30 and that the representative would contact another department after I hung up to have them follow up with me within a week.
My fisker ocean brakes are extremely dangerous. It slides slipping when you apply the brake. You might be lucky if you go uphill or down hill to not get into an accident. I have tried for almost 6 week calling them to fix my issue. I have send an email to cfo and several others no luck. There should be a recall on these vehicles ASAP it’s a serious safety concern.
Issue has been confirmed and acknowledged by Fisker. There is an issue with bumps on the road while braking and is a safety issue and should probably have a stop order until it's fixed. They are replacing sewer lines in my area so the roads are as bad as it gets. Our neighborhood is pretty hilly and I was coming down hill slowing from 35 to 15 to make a right onto a narrower side street. When I was mid turn I hit a series of bumps from all the construction and the car suddenly accelerated. I pushed the brakes as far as I could but was unable to slow the car until I passed the rough part of the road, which includes part of the crosswalk. If there were any pedestrians in the crosswalk or any on-coming cars, I would've definitely hit them. Fisker needs to fix this. I'm still a little shaken as I had my kids in the car at the time. Fisker knows about this but is still delivering vehicles that will not stop but accelerate when hitting bumps in the road. They are also not warning people of this.

NHTSA publishes every complaint as the owner wrote it and investigates only a fraction. Spelling, capitalisation and judgement are the filer’s own. What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
