The loss of regenerative braking that I have experienced over uneven roads. While driving over a speed bump, slightly bumpy road, and gravel, the vehicle accelerates without me having pushed anything. As a driver, I feel like I am out of control of my vehicle. No warning lights or alerts come on when it happens. When I say uneven roads, I am driving over minor uneven terrain, not large potholes or bumps. This issue continues to endanger my life. The most concerning incident happened when I was coming down a hill preparing to stop at a stop sign that was parallel to a very busy street and my vehicle lurched forward. Luckily, I was just far enough away that I did not end up in oncoming traffic. I have repeatedly requested servicing for this issue and on every occasion Fisker has stated that its engineers are aware of the issue and they do not have a solution, so Fisker is not able to service my vehicle. From speaking with Fisker technicians and reading, I understand that the regenerative braking suddenly turns off over uneven terrain so the expected deceleration does not happen and instead the vehicle is lurched forward. I have owned the vehicle since February 24, 2024, and I have experienced the issue on 5 occasions. My vehicle was updated with the latest 2.0 software (and all attached modules) on April 24, 2024, and I have experienced the sudden loss of regenerative braking since receiving that update. I would gladly make the vehicle available for inspection upon request.
2023 Fisker Ocean complaints
Owner reports filed with NHTSA about this vehicle, newest first and reproduced as filed. They are unverified accounts: one proves nothing, and a pattern across many is the thing worth reading. Back to the full 2023 record →
The vehicle will not go into drive or reverse unless you move to the front edge of the driver seat. The vehicle will go into park whenever you come to a stop, whether at traffic lights, in traffic at a roundabout, or on the highway when there is a lot of traffic. Due to the first issue of getting it into drive, this becomes problematic when you have to move the front edge of the seat to get it back into gear.
1. The high voltage warning light is illuminated on the dash, the vehicle is available for inspection 2. The vehicle will not operate at a speed of more than 17 mph which puts the driver and general public at risk 3. Fisker technicians have attempted to repair on March 29, April 5, and April 18, 2024 in person at my residence Fisker has been unresponsive on next steps and will not respond to support requests, emails, or text messages.
The brakes fail to operate when brake regeneration is active while driving over rough road surfaces. The brake pedal must be applied a second time in order to engage the power brake system.
I was in my vehicle, parked, and suddenly could not open the door and could not exit the vehicle. I was trapped inside. I got part of the video, which shows that I was in park, attempted to unlock the door, and could not get out. I eventually reset the vehicle twice to get the door to open. There was no warning. I just put my car in park and could not get out of the vehicle. I worry if I were in a wreck that I could not exit the vehicle. I also have an infant and worry if the doors are stuck that they would not be able to reset the vehicle and could get stuck in the car/especially as temperatures rise. I have told the company, but the company has not made an attempt to fix the vehicle yet. I have a video, but was unable to attach. Happy to send.
The Fisker Ocean is an unsafe vehicle. In the two and a half months I have owned the vehicle, I have experienced the following serious safety issues that have put other vehicles and my self at risk: - The vehicle will accelerate unexpectedly, nearly causing me to crash into a vehicle ahead of me on one occasion and almost run into oncoming traffic in another occasion. - Blind spot protection is inaccurate and frequently will not be available. - Lane keeping assistance overcorrects such that it has caused me in multiple occasions to swerve then I have to overcorrect and have nearly missed hitting other vehicles. - ADAS system features (collision warning, front and rear cameras, paying attention) frequently unavailable or misreport problems, causing me to panic trying to figure out what is wrong. The vehicle has been serviced on three occasions by the manufacturer and is awaiting a fourth (no date provided). Fisker has reported no solve for the acceleration and has said the last update would correct ADAS issues but has not. The issues started almost immediately upon delivery of my vehicle. The issues happen at all speeds, and I cannot predict when. I am happy to provide service records but Fisker has not properly documented that they addressed in service visits, but I do have in email.
During Moderate Braking, while driving over a bump, the entire drivetrain and braking system with "let go", and it feels like a surge in the drivetrain. During this time braking is unresponsive until it re-engages the system. If attempting to replicate, and viewing the driver's information console, sometimes you can see the "transmission" switch between Drive and Neutral and back to drive again. I have reported this to Fisker only weeks after receiving the vehicle in Sept 2023. They met me in a parking lot in San Diego, where "Taylor" a Magna Styer Engineering Technician for the ADAS system stated this was a known issue. Then in Dec 2023 or Jan 2024 the NHTSA reported that Fisker had fixed the problem - they have NOT, but since moving to Utah, the roads are a bit better than my original purchase location. On [XXX] while driving to work and when running over a very small bump in the road service on an exit ramp from [XXX], the regen braking and manual braking system released while driving, and my vehicle was propelled and continued through an intersection on a red light. This is becoming a common occurrence since the OS 2.0 update. Thankfully, there were no vehicles in the intersection and I made a sharp right turn and could not come to a complete stop. When driving and releasing the accelerator, the regen kicks in to slow the car and provide deceleration and regeneration. During this time, you can feel the brake pedal vibrate. When allowing regen to kick in and suddenly driving over a bump or uneven surface, the regen turns off, and thus, the car gets pushed forward suddenly as the part of deacceleration coming of the regen is not present. This ultimately translates into an increase in the stopping distance since the driver is under the assumption that the regen braking is going to be present. To compensate, when using the manual brake pedal, suddenly, the car responds by activating the ABS and momentarily continuing forward at a slightly faster speed for a few feet. In addition, with 2.0, it has been observed that the current braking is a mix of manual brakes and regen brakes. You can see while the system is working, your brake pedal is being compressed automatically while the regen is also being active. when driving over an even surface, the regen gets deactivated, and the brake pedal remains compressed and does not come back up as quickly as it should; it appears that during this time, you are basically pressing the pedal, and there is essentially no regen brakes working, and the manual brakes appear to be activating. Compounding my concerns are the numerous warning messages that have appeared on the vehicle's dashboard, including "Auto Emergency Braking unavailable - Drive carefully" and "Brake system malfunction - Serv
I have severe safety concerns about the malfunction of the vehicle’s regenerative braking system. Since I purchased the car, it has unexpectedly lurched forward during stop-and-go traffic on several occasions. This sudden and unpredictable acceleration poses a clear risk of collision and injury to both the vehicle’s occupants and other road users. Despite multiple attempts over the past six months, Fisker has been unable to diagnose and repair this braking defect. As a result, I am left with a vehicle that is unsafe to operate under normal driving conditions. Fisker’s failure to address this problem promptly raises concerns about a potentially widespread defect affecting other 2023 Fisker Ocean vehicles." Please note that Fisker has responded to customer feedback and issued an over-the-air software update to improve the regenerative system, but the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is still investigating the braking problems.
Vehicle will often not recognize included key FOB resulting in car shifting into park while stopped on the road, sometimes for multiple minutes, creating a very unsafe stopped car in active roadways. Vehicle dash will state "FOB not in vehicle." FOB is designed to communicate via NFC to ensure that the correct FOB is with the correct vehicle. My vehicle has never recognized the FOB and instead relies solely on the FOB's battery to maintain constant communication with the car. Resulting in the FOB battery going dead 4-5 times a week. Car is un-drivable because of this.
After enabling a "hill hold" feature where the car will stop after braking without needing to leave foot on brake, the car will automatically go into park/standby mode which results in car basically shutting off. This has affected many fisker oceans since their latest update. The car will stall on the freeway in stop and go traffic, at stoplights and stop signs. The driver must then put the car back into gear which with this vehicle does not happen expeditiously which results in stress and danger if someone approaching quickly from the rear. I need to attach videos to show this problem but this site will only allow pictures.
The most critical issue is a malfunction in the vehicle's regenerative braking system, which has caused the car to lurch forward unexpectedly during stop-and-go traffic on several occasions since I purchased . This sudden and unpredictable acceleration poses a clear risk of collision and injury to both the vehicle's occupants and other road users. Despite several attempts to have Fisker diagnose and repair this braking defect over the past six months, the issue persists, leaving me with a vehicle that is unsafe to operate in normal driving conditions. Fisker's inability to resolve this problem in a timely manner raises concerns about a potentially widespread defect affecting other 2023 Fisker Ocean vehicles. Compounding my concerns are the numerous warning messages that have appeared on the vehicle's dashboard, including "Auto Emergency Braking unavailable - Drive carefully" and "Brake system malfunction - Service is required." These alerts, combined with the actual performance issues I have experienced, strongly suggest that there are significant problems with the braking system that could have catastrophic consequences if left unaddressed. I am aware that the NHTSA has already opened a Preliminary Evaluation (PE24001) into alleged braking performance issues in 2023 Fisker Ocean vehicles, and I believe my experience provides further evidence of the seriousness and scope of this problem. The fact that Fisker has not been able to effectively repair my vehicle despite multiple
On [XXX] I opened a service ticket with Fisker for my Fisker Ocean One, Vin# [XXX] . On my drive to work the vehicle suddenly and very unexpectedly shuttered to a halt in the mist of driving. The times of the restarts were, [XXX], [XXX] and [XXX] and [XXX]pm. It was a clear day; everything was normal prior to the first episode at 1:17pm. After the third episode the " driver attention/alerts" came on unexpectedly too. After reaching my destination I performed a soft reboot which did not resolve the problem. Subsequently, on [XXX], at [XXX]am and again at [XXX]am, my vehicle shuttered to a stop and restarted in the middle of a busy road. After the second incident I did a soft reset and proceeded to my destination without any further issues. Yet again on [XXX] around [XXX]pm, my vehicle shuttered to stop in the middle of traffic, it then proceeded to reboot before allowing me to drive on. Nothing unusual preceded the incident and the vehicle was driven home with not added issues. On [XXX], between [XXX] today my FOO suddenly and unexpectedly shuttered to a stop no less than 6 times. On [XXX], the vehicle shuttered to a stop in the middle of traffic. Multiple events occurred sometime between [XXX]am and [XXX]am. On [XXX], the vehicle again shuttered to a stop, 2 times on the way home, again in the middle of traffic. All incidents where formally reported to Fisker at [email protected] and I rec'd confirmation of receipt Case numbers [XXX] and [XXX]. Through online resources I
My 2023 Fisker Ocean One automatically/randomly shifts into PARK, with the parking brake on, when I come to a stop, and sometimes doesn't come out of PARK when I press the PARK button and shift into DRIVE. For example, the car is in DRIVE, I come to a complete stop at a stoplight and the car automatically shifts itself into PARK. I press the PARK button to disengage the parking brake, shift into DRIVE, and the car automatically shifts itself back into PARK. Sometimes I need to put it back in DRIVE multiple times (3, 4, or 5 times) before it finally stays in DRIVE. I reported this issue to Fisker on March 27th, followed up with them on April 5th and April 23rd with no resolution. The issue first occurred when I received an OTA software update prior to March 27th, but I waited a little while to report it because I was hoping it would fix itself as other issues sometimes do with Fisker.
I was driving at 50 mph, midday, on a local road. All of a sudden, got a motor error, the motor light came up in red on the dash, all safety lights turned on on the dashboard - brake, adaptive assist (ADAS), motor fault, no safety features available. The car would not accelerate wit pushing the pedal and the car lost all propulsion. I was able to coast to the side of the road and come to a stop. No brakes were functional.
The car door handle did not extrude itself despite being unlocked. A child was in the car, in the middle of the day, and I was unable to open the door to retrieve the child. If my wife was not in the car to open it from the inside, we could have had a fatal situation on our hands. There have been numerous situations where the car would also fail to unlock randomly.
While driving and pulling out of the parking lot, the parking brake engaged on its own, preventing me from accelerating and almost causing a car accident.
The sensors aren’t reliable. Some days, the sensors work and some days they don’t. While I still utilize the skills from driving without these sensors, there will be a time where the sensor may turn off without me knowing and cause an accident because I can’t safely rely on them
Several incidents with this car. All available for inspection. 1. Brakes dont work intermittently and then engage or release at random. We could have ran into a car when the brakes "released"randomly while pressing down the pedal. There is a brake malfunction light that comes on with. a loud gong when we start the car up. 2. Mark the Fisker deck said has reproduced and says he feels like there is bag of rattlesnakes at the pedal set. Both the accelerator and brake pedals have crunching noises and do not work properly. Mark says he has no idea why and can't do anything about it. 3. Manufacturer has not inspected the mechanical part of the car. Hard to get anyone to do anything over there, almost zero communication from the service center. This is a lemon car with massive safety issues. Even Chase, the note holder has reached out to us to get info on the mechanical and software problems. Asked if we wanted a buyback from the company which we do.we do.
This car is scary to drive. When I go over bumps in the road (man hole cover, railroad tracks, damaged road, etc) and hit my brakes, the car speeds up. When I'm using cruise control and I go over some kind of bump, the cruise will disengage and the regenerative braking kick on instantly. These events only happen over certain bumps and make it hard to expect. I've almost gotten rear ended on the highway changing lanes in cruise control and Ive been close to rear ending others as I've tried to come to a stop so many times. I have a 17 month old toddler and this is my only vehicle to get him around. I've asked fisker for help and they keep telling me to wait for updates and the latest update made it worse. This has happened since I've gotten the car and it's happened at all speeds. There are only 6000 miles on my car.
This car is supposed to have lane keep assist and lane departure warning. When it goes off, instead of push the car back towards the center of the lane, it's pulling it towards line. The car is constantly trying to drive "on" the line vs between the lines. Fisker will not acknowledge it as an issue and has told me that 1.11 will fix it (it did not), then they told me that 2.0 will take care of all of those issues (it did not). The car is also constantly reporting ghost cars in the blind spot on the highway. Instead of fixing the issue, they just turned off the sound but the lights still flash.
The windshield fogs up in our Seattle weather extremely fast. Faster than any car I've been in. It only clears up if we have the defrost on high but only to the windshield. It won't work if we do windshield and feet. This leaves people in the back seat cold because their air controls won't work. Also, since the 2.0 update, if you turn on the front windshield defogger, the heat turns on all the way up and the fan turns all the way up. If you turn either down, they turn back up. So if it's 70 and humid and your windshield fogs up, the only way to clear it is with an extremely hot car. In addition to these issues, the forward collision warning and the automatic emergency braking don't work if it's raining or if it's too bright out. Again, fisker said this would be fixed with the 1.11 update and then with the 2.0 update but it has gotten worse. This car is dangerous to have children in it. Ive asked them to work with me on a buy back and I was told yes many weeks ago until they finally told me they don't do that. Now I'm finally filing these complaints so the car can be investigated. Fisker has ignored my emails to fix these issues.
Car was purchases [XXX]. The braking became unavailable [XXX] while driving on the freeway. Several alerts and warnings came on to the vehicle regarding collision, lane changing. This has happened twice, second time [XXX]. Other issues have included: Car rolls back when foot taken off pedal even when parked on flat ground. Regenerative breaking issues persistent. Multiple alerts and warnings regarding breaking, collision warning, lane changing pop up on dash atop steering wheel throughout day. Car was delivered/purchased brand new [XXX] and to now, these issues have been going on consistently since [XXX] when car was delivered. I even flew to Los Angeles from Sacramento [XXX] to complain and get a hold of someone since NO ONE from Fisker is responding. I was told someone was going to contact me by Monday [XXX] and no one still has. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
This vehicle is not safe to be on the road. I've had numerous safety issues: 1) Electrical: --every day I get warnings about faults, particularly with many of the ADAS features being unavailable. --the dash screen with the speedometer fades out while driving. --the main screen stops working or locks on a back-up camera image. --the A/C system intermittently functions. The biggest issue with this is that the vehicle has a glass roof that traps heat in the car and it gets hot inside fast. --interior lights turn on and won't turn off. --the rear door will unlock but the door cannot be opened. This is particularly worrisome in the case of an emergency if I can't get my kids out of the backseat. --the side mirrors have closed by themselves while driving. 2) Driving --the car will shift gears on its own while driving, generally shifting into park when I stop in stop and go traffic. --if I encounter any potholes and dents in the road, the vehicle will lunge forward, quickly speeding up when slowing down. --the rollback on this vehicle is very worrisome. The lightest incline will result in the car starting to roll backwards very quickly. If you press the accelerator while rolling back the vehicle thrusts forward. --I've been locked out of the vehicle two times. Both times it was because the vehicle fell into a deep sleep and required a remote activation. That meant I had to wait 15-20 minutes to get a hold of a representative to remote unlock my car. I have two kids and the idea of g
Every time i brake my car goes to park mode.. this happened every time I brake, mode of the car changed from Drive to Park .. Done soft and hard reset still facing this issue.. opened service ticket with Fisker but no update yet. this is really scary and makes me nervous to drive this car. Any help is appreciated. thanks
The vehicle has 4 coolant pumps to keep the batteries from overheating. One of my pumps stopped working and the company sent me the new pump a month ago but have yet to schedule a tech to come here to replace it as promised. The car has less than 500 miles on it and is dangerous to drive as it will shut down without warning on the highway. Fisker needs to send the tech out before they file for bankruptcy. Please help.
Two Safety Issues; 1. Driver side front inside door handle malfunctioning so that it cannot be opened from the inside. I have to lock/unlock the car to apparently reset the system so that it will open. This does not happen all the time but has happened twice over the past week. Clearly a safety issue if you are trapped inside the vehicle. This can be inspected. No warning messages by the vehicle. 2. Vehicle has gone into park while coming to a full stop and will not easliy shift back into drive. Similarly, I had to lock/unlock the car several times to get it to do back into drive. This happened a few times in the past week so it has not been addressed by Fisker. The safety issue is apparent as a parked car in moving traffic dangerous. No error messages by the vehicle. There are many other issues with the vehicle, however the above pose a health risk. I have filed for arbitration to return the vehicle as I have two small children and I find the car unsafe to drive with them inside.
Was driving vehicle on highway. Road was being milled. Went over the transition from milled to normal asphalt pavement. Vehicle lost power, error message appeared about battery, transmission shifted to neutral. Once vehicle was on the side of the highway, stopped, it turned itself off.
Many grievances that are not addressed by the company: Brakes sometimes cause the car to "jump" forward and glide forward a couple of feet. If someone cuts you off and you have to quickly brake, the car may "jump" forward and get into an accident. The car has evidence of water build up somewhere inside the skeleton/body/frame of the car (evidence by "swishing" noises upon normal uphill acceleration, downhill deceleration, acceleration in general). Along with this, there's more evidence of water accumulation with visible condensation found on the windows that are from the inside (especially evident on the passenger side front and rear windows). There is a smell to the inside that is of standing water (humid smell). Concerned with mold if not addressed. The consul will stop working and either freeze or shut off altogether (in these cases no buttons can control the vent or audio systems). Occasionally the car will have the heater on, blasting hot hair and since the consul won't work, nor the buttons, there's no way to control that (at the same time, there's no way to control the audio volume either). The car's safety features are practically always inactive and the car prompts me to "drive carefully" based on this finding. "Lane assist" and "automatic brake" are the most frequently 'unavailable' safety features (daily). Car being stranded and unable to open or turn on multiple times. All this has been emailed to Fisker multiple times (with photos) and an automatic email response
I began driving home from work with the vehicle at 75% charge. As I pulled onto the main road the vehicle experienced a regenerative braking error, then proceeded to lose power. The vehicle came to a halt and then displayed an error that the battery charge level was 0%. At this time every single error indicator on the dash became illuminated. The vehicle stopped in the travel lanes and was unable to shift into drive to move, and subsequently had to be towed. Due to the vehicle's unresponsiveness my safety was put at risk by having a vehicle that could not move out of the travel lanes on a busy road.
A week ago my wife was locked out of our Fisker. The battery in hte key fob was new. No matter what she tried, the doors would not open. After an hour, the doors responded to the key fob. Saturday April 20, the same thing happened to me. The door would not open even though I had put a new battery in the key only a few days prior. I tried to open the door for at least 15 mins, including walking around the car to try from all sides, placing the key near the door handle as Fisker instructs, locking then unlocking the doors, etc. I also tried unlocking with the Fisker app. Nothing worked. A window was slightly open. Although I knew it would likely set off the alarm, I reached inside and was able to open a door. The alarm went off. No matter what I tried, I could not get the car to recognize my key and/or stop the alarm. After another 15 mins, I walked to a CVS to buy another battery for the keyfob. I returned with another new new battery in the kdy fob but still no success. By this time, I had been unable to enter my car for half an hour with the alarm sounding for half that time, arousing the interest and ire of people parked nearby. I tried using the Fisker app to contact roadside assistance. The app told me such assistance was not available. I called the Fisker Customer service number. A message said no one was available to answer. I then called a Fisker service tech who had been to my house in the past (more than once, unfortunately). He didn’t answer but texted me a while la
1. Center screen is completely off. It controls everything in the car: safety feature (blind sport, lane keep assist, traffic light alert, regenerative braking, and many others), AC/heating system, communication, navigation, etc. 2. Whistling noise started coming from the electric motor (I guess!). Not sure what exactly this sound is but it increases significantly with acceleration and slows down with deceleration.
During high speeds on the highway the car starting making random beeping and booping alerts, every warning showed up on the dash and a notification quickly popped up that said something along the lines of battery failure and need service, then disappeared, then a red battery indicator remained displayed and the car's acceleration and regenerative breaking went dead. We managed to roll the car for about half a mile to the next exit and pulled over. My wife was driving at that time and when I got out of the car to switch with my wife, the problem went away and we weren't able to reproduce the problem. I have sent this issue to Fisker the day of and they are completely ignoring it. I've been hounding them everyday about this as well as all the other issues with the car and expired plates. My wife is too scared to drive the car by herself since then and I can't even legally drive it because of Fisker's refusal to provide temporary registration and plates. Anyway, this was a dangerous situation for both of us. Fisker is currently prioritizing all their techs to prep inventory for sale and ignoring current customers with mechanical issues. Still have all the other well known issues like regenerative braking cutting off on high speeds when hitting uneven surfaces on the highway causing a very jarring lurch forward and decreased stopping distance, random ADAS errors causing beeps and bongs, interior light randomly coming on and off during drive, excessively loud fan noise coming from
All cameras have failed on this Fisker Ocean. That has led to the blind spot indicators being on at all times along with non functioning back-up cameras, lane-keeping system, parking indicators. No response on the ticket submitted (along with other tickets submitted for other issues previously). Headlights now turn off when the car stops no matter which mode (auto, headlights, or daytime running lights) is selected. They come back on once moving. This has lead to reduced visibility of the vehicle. Again, no response from Fisker requesting service.
Front passenger door does not open from car interior
My Fisker Ocean Extreme has been inoperable since [XXX]. Initially, a Fisker rep told me it was likely due to software update Fisker pushed to the car, causing the car alarm to sound and the 12 volt battery to die. Fisker did not notify me that it was pushing an update to my car on [XXX], nor did I “accept” or “install” any update. The car was parked at the time. On [XXX] and [XXX], the rep tried unsuccessfully on two occasions to repair the car. Ultimately, he stated that a connector “welded” itself (his words) to the high voltage battery. Although the rep said the “welding” was rare, it has occurred. Before he left my car, he disconnected wires and further rendered the car inoperable. Fisker promised to arrange no later than [XXX] for the car to be towed and repaired in La Palma. However, despite repeated calls and emails, Fisker has rejected my requests for repair. The "welding" indicates a high level of heat involving the high voltage battery, which is a significant safety concern. The car also had significant issues with regenerative braking not working, which I also complained to Fisker about. Gearshift stick popped out and dropped to the floor while trying to reverse at parking lot. We were able to plug it in after few attempts to get it to function and drive back home nearby. Called Fisker support and reported the incident and are waiting for their service to fix the issue. If this had happened on the highway, will loose control and end up ina accident!
On 3/29/24 my wife was driving the Fisker home on the freeway. She had about 20% battery left and was 5 miles from home. All of a sudden, the car lost power and she started to coast on the freeway. Nothing happened when she pushed on the accelerator. She made it to the side of the road. Stopped the car. And then turned it on again and all was fine and drove home. She was severely shaken to completely lose power on the freeway. Then the same thing happened to me on 4/5/24. I was traveling with the cruise control on at 70 mph and I was on the Interstate 80 freeway. I was eastbound, 2 miles from the Bus. 80 junction. All of a sudden, the screen in front of me started flashing. It said "front ADAS malfunction", "braking problem, drive safely" " Battery low, 12v/HV". The car slowed to 52 mph and nothing happened when I pushed on the accelerator. I made my way through traffic with my hazard lights on and got to the side of the freeway. I stopped the car and put it in Park. Nothing changed. So I reset the system by pushing the two inside buttons of the steering wheel. It reset and everything worked. We contacted Fisker after the first incident and then again after the second incident. They said we were a "high" priority and we would be contacted by a service tech in 1-3 days. It has been 4 days and no one has contacted us. We are very hesitant to drive the car not knowing when it might quit on us again. We need answers from Fisker!
The contact owns a 2023 Fisker Ocean. The contact stated that while depressing the brake pedal, a vibration and tapping sound was coming from the brake pedal. Additionally, the "Regen Braking" message was displayed, and the stopping distance was extended. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a technician was sent to examine the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact was informed that the failure was due to a software issue that the manufacturer was working to resolve. No further information was available. The failure mileage was 10.
The contact owns 2023 Fisker Ocean. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 45 MPH, and on other occasions while driving at various speeds, the vehicle drove over a small bump on the roadway and the vehicle unintendedly surged forward, accelerated, and then decelerated. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 2,000.

Today, I had to slam on my breaks on the freeway. Luckily I was able to stop in time. However the Fisker completely shut off, flashed every warning light imaginable and wouldn’t respond. I sat diagonally in the middle of a 6 lane freeway and for 5 straight minutes the car wouldn’t work. I finally got the car to turn on but it wouldn’t switch to drive, it was stuck on park or neutral. I had to turn off the car, lock it, unlock it and then the car responded. It was very scary. The 2nd was last weekend I had my car in the garage plugged in for 7 days and it didn’t get driven. When I returned I got in the car to drive and the battery was at full charge. While I was driving to work the battery was dropping several % a minute. After 20 miles of driving I had 9% of battery and pulled into a charging area unable to get to work. I ended up charging the Fisker and it went back to normal. While driving I never got any notices/alerts/warnings, the battery never adjusted, it just kept falling. It was very stressful, nerve racking and scary thinking this could happen at any time or any moment. I can’t imagine driving my Fisker outside the city area. Also having the same braking issues where it shudders forward. I've had to drastically change lanes because of the brakes not fully engaging. My driver side mirror was making a loud screeching noise while opening and its stopped working altogether. The bluetooth doesnt work for the music or phone as well. I have messaged Fisker customer service
When accelerating quickly in drive, the vehicle shifts into neutral, brakes, goes into park and shuts down. Technicians have repeated the issue and attempted to fix it but no solution has been found. The dash displays the message, "Brake System malfunction. Service Required." There are a few dash icons that display indicating a "System Fault," "Brake malfunction," and "ADAS fault."
There have been many issues with my Fisker..Since the first day I got it I have had problems trying to get the car doors to open. I have even been TRAPPED MULTIPLE TIMES IN THE CAR unable to get out because the doors won't unlock to let me OUT. Since the first day I got the car I have been sending messages to fisker. Also, The first day I got the car, The Brakes system malfunction warning comes on often and the fisker IT Guys say” don’t worry about it “. The fisker support does not respond for days and sometimes weeks and sometimes not at all. Also I got the Fisker IT Service support technician for my are so I just text him most times with the issues. The AIr condition just stops working randomly. The sensors has been replaced but it keeps failing, the vents had to be replaced also and still have “bugs”. The doors not letting me out of the car are a HUGE safety risk for me and my family as well as not being able to get in the car. The Fisker technician has been to my house on several occasions and stayed for hours and then when he leaves I have the same issues. There are multiple incident dates as these issues are recurring. The brake malfunction while in driving started from day one I have a video. I also have text messages to the Fisker technician and one of the Fisker manager Sean O’Grady. i tried to load the video I have of the Brake system malfunction warning coming on as I am driving the car, but I couldn't get it to attach the file. You can email or call me if you need
As I was driving in the middle of a rainstorm and the typical collision avoidance, lane departure, blind spot monitoring lights turned on and off intermittently, which was expected with this car. I’m used to it by now. But as I came down a descent on the two lane highway (CA interstate 80 around Truckee), as I slowly let go of the accelerator to allow for regen breaking to kick in, I got alerts for break malfunctions and failed regen breaking. Then all of a sudden, the accelerator lost all response and started to slow. I applied pressure to the accelerator and got nothing. Luckily there were no cars around, so I was able to cut across the next lane and onto the shoulder. Luckily the mechanical brakes still worked, though no regen breaking. I came to a complete stop, and as soon as I put the car into (P)ark the entire car shut off by itself, like it kissed all power. Fortunately, I was able to press through breaks the turn the car back on. Then everything went back to normal.
I have created some service tickets thru the Fisker website and got no response, Shawn did a great job taking care of the initial issues I had, I just keep finding more that have not been addressed or stopped working with the OS2.0, the Bluetooth keeps disconnecting or not connecting at all when I enter the vehicle, the “Lane keep assist” never worked, I am still owe the rear flaps, the emergency kit We paid for, the limo screen is not working, (it stopped working before the updated it got fixed on update, it stopped working again), also, the car has done some erratic behaviors when stopped at a intersection waiting for a green light, the vehicle puts itself to Park, sometimes to the point of non responsiveness, there’s rattling or grinding sound when breaking at around 30-20m/hr, when inside the vehicle for 20-30 min, all kind of errors appears and becomes unresponsive, battery errors, won’t drive or do nothing, the driver seat intermittently becomes unresponsive, it would not move forward/backwards or up/low, I couldn’t drive it the other day, it was stuck the way my wife drives.
Passenger side door would not open from inside on multiple occasions
On Monday March 25th the 12v died with my whole family in the car my wife and two kids couldn't open any of the doors or trunk and there's no emergency latch to get out of the vehicle we were stuck in the vehicle for 2 hours before assistance came for us.

NHTSA publishes every complaint as the owner wrote it and investigates only a fraction. Spelling, capitalisation and judgement are the filer’s own. What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
