2015 Crossroads Redwood

Defect. Keystone RV Company (Keystone) is recalling various 2003-2018 Crossroads, Dutchmen, and Keystone recreational trailers equipped with Kidde Plastic-Handle or Push Button 'Pindicator' Fire Extinguishers. A list of the affected trailer models is available at: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2017/RMISC-17V755-5127.pdf. These extinguishers may become clogged, preventing the extinguisher from discharging as expected or excessive force may be needed to activate the extinguisher. Additionally, in certain models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury and also render the product inoperable. Risk. In the event of a fire, if the fire extinguisher does not function properly, it can increase the risk of injury.

Remedy. Keystone will notify owners and instruct them to contact Kidde for a replacement fire extinguisher, free of charge. The recall began on January 15, 2018. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 CROSSROADS REDWOOD FIFTH WHEEL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT MICE ENTERED THE VEHICLE AND CHEWED COMPLETELY THROUGH THE ELECTRICAL AND WATER LINES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN VERIFIED THE ISSUE AND REPLACED BOTH THE ELECTRICAL AND WATER LINES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 CROSSROADS REDWOOD CAMPER. WHILE BEING TOWED BY A 2008 FORD F-250 AT 50 MPH, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO REMAIN IN POSITION AND TILTED TO THE RIGHT. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR CONDITIONING UNIT FAILED TO FULLY FUNCTION AND WOULD ONLY COOL THE VEHICLE BETWEEN 6 TO 8 DEGREES LOWER THAN THE OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE. THE CONTACT ALSO DISCOVERED THAT WATER WAS LEAKING FROM THE REAR END CAP. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHO STATED THAT BOTH AXLES AND THE REAR AIR CONDITIONER WERE IMPROPERLY MOUNTED, BUT WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 600.
