Notice the engine temp was rising, had notice I was slowly losing coolant in my overflow tank. Then while driving it started making noise that the engine overheated need to idle vehicle then as I pulled to a stop light the rims bogged down the whole vehicle shut down The radiator has a small leak in the plastic reservoir on the driver's side of radiator. Could have cause a big problem if I was in traffic when it shut down cause I had no control to turn the wheel or anything else once that happened. The vehicle got extremely hot very fast.

Rear window leaking like a small stream in regular rain. It’s going down behind seats and carpeting and headliner staining worse and worse and I am worried about black mold being created. Husband has lung issues and that can be verified by our physician. We have told Jenkins chevy in Venice florida 5/4/22, 3/20/23 and now living in TN spoke to Champion Chevy in Johnson City on 9/29/23 and 1/5/24..it’s getting worse and as we are out of warranty no one wants to help. We never received any bulletins on my chevy site and it’s not anything you would normally notice but now we smell the mildew smell back there because it is getting worse. Please help us before we get ill from this awful leak. This is my first Chevy pick up I have purchased in my lifetime. Possibly the last.. Torque converter and transmission. For more than a year truck would lunge or jump forward when stopped at light or sitting in traffic, brought truck back to dealer several times for this problem each time they would tell me nothing wrong with truck. problems continued to happen and Truck started hesitating when accelerating then jumping into gear also while driving on highway truck felt like it was slipping out of gear and RPMs would jump up. Brought truck back to dealer again 3 months ago and they said torque converter was going bad and they would call me when part was in. two months later and they kept saying it was back ordered, now while driving going down steep incline into busy intersection felt like i got rear ended by another car, when looking back no car was close me truck stalled and started rolling into intersection I slammed on brake and got truck started again only to find transmission had failed and it slammed into gear when accelerating put my flashers on and got off road . Brought truck back to dealer to have them tell me transmission was now gone. truck has now been sitting on dealer lot for a month now with them telling me they can't get parts or transmission to fix. Very dangerous situation with this transmission and them knowingly kept sending me away in this truck. I feel that they knew about transmission problem over a year ago when I was bringing it in for the lunging forward after coming to complete stop at traffic light and kept saying nothing wrong.
While driving the engine jumps/jerks then goes back to normal, it continuously happens every 3-5 minutes while driving. A friend had his exact issue with exact make model year vehicle and it ended up being the gas sensor. Please look into this issue for this vehicle. Our local dealer will not fix it because the sensor doesn’t show the issue but that is the issue. The dealer knows it does it but won’t fix it.

Driving 20 mph on paved downtown street when cross arm failed causing wheel to twist 90 degrees causing damage to brakes, drivetrain, abs, and steering. No warning just pop and trying to maintain my lane before able to turn into parking lot. Towed to dealer and diagnosed with control arm failure. They are aware of this issue and now replace control arms stronger rough country control arms and level the truck differently. DeAler is claiming GMC will not cover and they are calling it a suspension issue and out of warranty two months. Truck has 26000 miles on it. Lucky event happened at 20 mph and I was able to maintain control of vehicle
The rear power sliding window in my 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LT leaks whenever it rains. The leaking water enters the cab and runs down the back interior wall of the crew cab and saturates the insulation material and the carpeting on the floor. The moisture has caused the seat brackets that attach the seat to the truck to rust and it has also caused mold inside the cab. I purchased a DIY mold test kit and it was positive for mold. My kids and I have allergies and this is causing issues with our health and if it continues it could cause serious health problems. This known issue of the leaking rear window is very widely discussed on many different gm truck forums and internet sites yet gm will not take ownership of this obvious problem.
Today while driving , the upper ball joint separated from the control arm, causing the truck to pull hard to the right. I was able to keep from wrecking the truck. While doing research it seems that this is a common occurrence with the Silverado Trail Boss and the Sierra AT4. I read a safety recall report on these vehicles, 21V-718, after reading this, it's exactly what happened with my truck. Ball joints is rusting and corroded. Vehicle is able to be inspected upon request. If I had been on the freeway traveling, it would have caused a severe single or multiple car accident as I lost control to steer. No symptoms leading up to the situation.
My backup camera is not functional and it stopped working in April a month after I purchased the vehicle before my lease expired in May. I took it into the dealership for a software update and they refused to do anything without charging me a $160 fee.
Truck shudders, with varying degrees of vibration, emtek applying brakes. It is especially rough when applying brakes on the highway as it feels like it could lose steering control. Shaking is also very noticeable at slow speeds. Have had rear brakes serviced and problem persists. As of this month, the "service ESC (electronic stability control)" light has come on, along with other faults on the dash. VIN does not indicate unrepaired recalls, but this issue makes the drive feel dangerous
Water leaking across head liner/ rear sliding window junction. leaking on to granddaughter in child seat. bought truck new, may of 2020. garage kept, day and night. less than 22,000 miles.
The contact owns a 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while driving at 30 MPH, the vehicle briefly vibrated and shuddered before losing motive power. After tapping the brake pedal and rapidly accelerating, the vehicle continued to vibrate and shudder but eventually returned to normal functionality. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 78,000.
Brake calipers on 3 of 4 wheels are trying to lock up. Only 54000 miles on the truck this should not be an issue. Could KILL someone
The transmission on my truck shudders and shakes very badly, contacted GM ,also the dealer told it would take 3-4 weeks to repair , i am left without away to work.
UPPER CONTROL ARM FAILURE TWICE , 1ST TIME IT HAPPEN WAS FEB. 2023 THEN LAST THURSDAY 09/21/23 HAPPEN AGAIN IF GOING AT A HIGH RATE OF SPPED WOULD OF LOST CONTROL , 1ST TIME WAS DOING 35MPH THEN 2ND WAS DOING ABOUT 10MPH NO WARNING JUST SNAPPED THE BALL JOINT
Started to notice water marks on the driver and passenger side rear window. According to online forms it is a common problem with 2019 and 2020 silverados with a sliding rear window. The dealer claimed it wasn't a safety issue, which I argued it was due to the mold. Chevy knew about the manufacturing problem before they even sold me the vehicle and did nothing to fix it
I am writing this complaint to bring up the melting dashboard on my 2020 Silverado. I took my vehicle to Beaver Chevrolet in Jacksonville ,FL and they identified that there is an issue with my dashboard. However, they refused to fix or replace it. The service manager check his personnel vehicle and confirmed that his is sticky as well. My co-worker who owns a 2020 GMC Sierra also has a sticky dash. This issue is dangerous as my dash is very shiny and reflects everything onto the glass making it very difficult to see.
Loss of power steering, on 2 occasions. Started the vehicle and got a caution notice saying drive with care power steering disabled. Sure enough no power steering. Stopped vehicle waited, re-started vehicle, problem persisted. Made other transportation arrangement plans, restarted vehicle after a bit a problem seem to be gone. Stored codes we're 121, 131, and 140. BCM Communication loss, Power brake communication Loss and Steering Control communication failure.

My car turned left with the risk of jumping to the opposite lane. It happened twice. First at 40 mph and the second time at 70 mph. I didn’t feel any issue with the steering drive but more with the traction. I’m not sure.
About a month ago I noticed some intense shaking in my 2020 Silverado 1500 RST when braking. The shaking is not only felt in the seat and steering wheel, but is also observable in the dash and in the gear shifter. Due to the obvious concern, I made an appointment with the dealer who, after inspection, stated that all 4 rotors were warped due to overheating. I mostly use the truck on the highway, tow a river raft (easily carried by 2 people) on a small trailer 2 times a year (about 70 miles roundtrip), have never used the bed with excess weight, do not ride my brakes when driving, and I live in Alaska where the temperature is cool (high temps rarely exceeding mid 60's). The brake status report on my dash presently shows my original brake pad life to be 83% on the front and 89% on the rear which was inline with the dealer report that the brake pads were still quite thick. These prove that the brakes have not been overused or abused. According to Kaufman and Associates website, "General Motors is recalling over 350,000 2020 Chevrolet Silverado and GM Sierra pick-up trucks due to a fault in the brake system....The issue involved a lack of heat-treatment for the bolts used to attach both the front and rear calipers.....The issue comes down to long-term performance and safety....Untreated bolts run the risk of breaking under loads, and this can result in braking issues, wheel rotation problems, and internal damage to other parts of the truck. These trucks also suffered from brake s
The contact owns a 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the vehicle was shuddering while depressing the accelerator pedal. The contact also stated that after cold starting the vehicle, the vehicle shifted hard from first to second gear. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where the transmission fluid was flushed; however, the failure persisted and became more frequent. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and agreed to cover half the cost of a new transmission. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 59,000. The VIN was not available.
The key will get stuck in the ignition cilinder when I try to turn off the truck. This happens several times, I got to turn it on and off several times to get the key out of the ignition barrel. The truck was taken to the dealer to be repaired, they replaced the cylinder (part #13528553) and the housing (part# 84990323) AMD it didn't fix the problem

The contact stated that mold might form inside the vehicle due to the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 15,000.
While driving i smelled what i thought was strong exhaust from a vehicle in front of us. It was actually gasoline fumes entering the cab from my truck's engine compartment. I pulled over and investigated the smell, we had to let down ALL the windows and turn off the AC. There were no warning lamps. There was, however, gasoline dripping from around the transmission area of the underside. It was dripping on the exhaust which was causing most of the stench. It wasn't a heavy drip but enough for me to skip any other planned errands. When we got to the house gasoline was dropping from six or seven places under the car. The next day we set an appointment for the dealership to look at it. When I drove into the dealer the car was still gushing gasoline and I told them about the recall for the High Pressure Fuel Pump. It turns out that's exactly what it was. However, although my RPO (L82) matched the designated recall, I was told my VIN was not included and I would have to pay...bummer. I don't think the recall cast a big enough web to catch all affected vehicles. I have a video but no photos.
Bought this vehicle 4 months ago first month the tire loosing air went on a trip park in a garage left it there for the week end came out passenger front tire was flat put spare on notice crack on inside of the rim...2 month later took another trio on the way home tire was loosing air change out again Crack on inside of rim driver rear different one then first time
Already paid for transmission repair and now paying for engine wiring harness. Service update was sent out to dealer in May of 2020 to fix issues before selling vehicle. That was not done.
Lifters are failing. This is an ongoing problem with GM engines. They used faulty parts and engines are failing and nothing is being done about it.
I am concerned of the blind spot created by the size of the right and left support structures on either end of windshield. They also have a grab handle attached to them increasing the size. When at a stop and looking for cross traffic they create a blind spot of approaching vehicles. I believe this was why I thought no traffic was approaching when i entered roadway and then saw a vehicle approaching from the left. I immediately came to a stop and avoided an accident luckily.
At around 30mph the transmission struggles and jerks.
The contact owns a 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated while driving 65-70 MPH, the engine started shuddering. The message "Reduced Power" was displayed, and the check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle lost motive power and failed to restart. The contact pushed the vehicle to the side of the road with assistance. The contact was able to restart the vehicle after a while. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the camshaft intake actuator screws had detached, and the engine and turbocharger needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 77,200.
Rear window seal is leaking causing mold in vehicle.
Everytime I trun the car off, all the lights, Nav, radio stays on as the car display a message "Shift to Park". This message stays on for sometimes 2 minutes, sometimes 10 minutes. Untill the message gone the car still thinks is on. In 2 occasions I had to jump the car as the battery depelted. This is a major safety issue if my son who drive the car to Detroit and had to stay wait for the car to turn off. GM need to fix this issue ASAP. I called the dealership & they said there is no recall or any fix. I see many many ppl complaining about the same thing with different Chevy models.
I had just left RV Park in Kingman, AZ. I had cruise control set at 59MPH when My truck began a violent shacking and a lot of banging. I pulled over on the shoulder of I-40, Got out to find tread had come off of the tire and was now wedge between brake backing plate and leaf spring. It had not lost air. Just tread came off. When tow truck driver showed up several hours later, tire was still holding air. He jacked up the axle, but deflated tire before he would remove it from truck and put on my spare. I always check my tires when I leave rv parks or after stopping at rest stops. Saw nothing wrong with tire or air pressure that morning. I had only been driving 45 Minutes, outside temp was low 80's.

While driving down the interstate hi-way, I heard a pop and my truck started to swerve into the adjoining lane. I turned the steering wheel in the opposite direction and the truck started making a rubbing sound and very hard to steer. I finally got it to the side of the hi-way and seen my passenger side front wheel leaning in. The upper balljoint/control arm broke. Luckily no-one was in the lane next to me or it would have caused a serious crash.

NHTSA publishes every complaint as the owner wrote it and investigates only a fraction. Spelling, capitalisation and judgement are the filer’s own. What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
