Service Brakes
Filed Oct 25, 2026MO
The truck has under 13,000 miles as of October 2026. The brake lines are all completely rusted and some rusted all the way through causing brake leaking and brake loss. This is a complete failure on Gm parts by using sub par parts. I was alerted by the stabiltrak and brake light on dash to the issue. Took to my Gm dealer Sapaugh GM, they made video stating the entire brake line system is completely rusted on a 4 and half year old truck with low miles. This truck is routinely neutralized and power washed with hot power washer. my extended warranty will not cover. I have GM vehicle with 150,000 mile and are 2012 model years that have not had brake line issues. i would like for GM to pay for cost of labor or at least pay for half th e cost of repairs at the GM dealership
No unusual pattern of severe incidents in the complaint record.
Complaint counts track how many cars were sold and how long they have been on the road as much as they track quality. A common model from 2013 has had a decade to accumulate reports; a rare one from last year has not. The signal worth weighing is in the severity columns, in whether the same component keeps appearing, and in whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
Recall repairs are free for as long as the recall stands. Check whether a specific car still has open work at NHTSA's VIN lookup.
