Twice in the (almost a)year I’ve had the Venza I have gone to accelerate from a stop sign and the car started to go then the gas pedal went all the way to floor and nothing happened - then when I tried again the car accelerated as expected. The first time (@ approx 4000 miles) I was turning left with oncoming traffic (of semi truck plus others) coming and had it happened a few seconds later - I would have been in a serious accident. Second time was just over 10000 miles on 1/12/2021

Pulling into a parking spot (under 5 mpg), brakes did not engage. Car drove up onto the sidewalk. Had to put car into reverse to avoid hitting the building. While in reverse, brakes would not engage as well had to turn off the vehicle to stop it after it hit the curb 20ft behind the vehicle. Had vehicle towed to the dealership. They could see where the brakes were engaged 3x, but could not replicate the issue. Although there was snow, ground was not icy or slippery.

Windshield cracked. Car only has about 4500 miles. Many other 2021 Venza owners are experiencing the same issue. Obstructed visibility is a major hazard.

Headlights: They have a shadow blocking full view. They are not shining equally on both sides. Instead the beam drops off the field of vision abruptly and you now faced with a blind spot of darkness. Basically, if something or someone came out in front of you, you would not see them until it was too late. For instance, driving in the neighbor alley without lighting, if a child, animal or ball came out in front of you, you would have no shadow or warning that you were about to come into contact with them. With other vehicles the light sprays off into the distance so you can see a wider field of vision. I find this extremely dangerous, unsafe for me and others! If I use my high beams the problem is solved but that is not a proper solution. I have spoken to Toyota dealer x2 and their answer is... That's the new LEDs. I have called Toyota Corp and they have registered my call. I truly believe this is a matter of urgency for the safety of human life.

Windshield cracked along drivers side with no known rock impact and no evidence of a rock hit. It appears the windshield just cracked. The crack was about 2 feet long. Car was only a few weeks old when this happened.

Low beam LED headlights have shadows and dark spots projecting on to the road. Very distracting and looks very similar to animals or people as they come into view in the dark. Have had to swerve several times only to realize it’s the shadows in the headlight units. I have read many other owners complaining of identical issue on Toyotanation Venza forum. Really need a fix for this. It is not an issue that appears over time, this is happening straight from the factory with 0 miles on the car.

While driving we noticed a line in the windshield. After inspection we realized that the line is actually a crack. It started at the base in the right corner (passenger side). No rocks or any impact with any objects.

Don't recall anything unusual hitting my windshield (other than sandy grit), but when I drove it today there is a small chip and 12" crack. I have driven cars for 35 years and have never had such a fragile windshield on a car. I think it is defective, because I read about a bunch of other people having the same issue on this Toyota Nation site (and also Facebook)- https://www.toyotanation.com/threads/windshield-repair.1695878/ It is not very safe to have people drive around with windshields like this, especially if it is the fault of poor manufacturing. And even though you are supposed to get it fixed with insurance, I am not in a place right now to afford the deductible to get it fixed.

I am writing to complain of cracking the vehicle windshield. the vehicle is a Toyota Venza 2021 and it has been cracked very soon after two weeks that I have got from dealership. i think that is very vulnerable part of this new vehicle and is a malfunction, since my other past vehicles never had such failures in the winshield like this. i have had this problem more than three months ago and still after three month, Toyota has not provided it to me. it is extending rapidly and I have to drive with cracked winshiekld. i have ordered that on august 2021 at Toyota Westminister Vancouver and still agter three month they just update the date to the next month. I have submitted my full ICBC insurance and an extra insurance to the dealership at parts section, but they say this is a National back order for both Canada and States. As I said I live in Vancouver Canada, i had to put a different address in states to submit, you can reach me via my Email. Thanks

Steering
Filed Oct 17, 2021CA

2021 Toyota Venza Steering assist feature creates a safety hazard. The steering assist works with the cruise control and lane departure. When on, it appears that the steering assist picks up its position or centers the vehicle in the lane from the nearest white line on the right side. It positions the vehicle approximately 12 to 18 inches from the right line position thus positioning the vehicle slightly right of the center of the lane. One is forced to fight the pull of the wheel to maintain a center lane position. This Steering Assist function creates the following problems: 1.Off-center to the right can make it too close for vehicles traveling to the vehicles right. Also, it does not adjust for vehicles traveling too close or possibly swerve on your right side. It will maintain its position regardless of events alongside of you. It receives its bearings from only the white line. This condition is more severe when traveling in a left lane on a multiple lane road with a dotted line. 2.Because the steering assist picks up its orientation from a right-side line; when the line is out of position or not available, the car will automatically move right until it finds something to coordinate the cars position. Without something fixed like a line or curb it will take the car off of the road. When approaching an off-ramp, the right solid road barrier line, usually veers right off the highway and will follow the direction of the off-ramp. Under this condition I have discovered that t

I just purchased the 2021 Venza a week ago. I was not aware of the fuel tank issue with the RAV4. When I filled up my Venza I noticed that it was not filling up to the full 14.5 gallons as stated by Toyota. I would assume that there maybe some reserve gas in the tank. But had I not noticed this I would have attempted to continue driving since I assumed that the tank has 3.5 gallons in reserves but I am uncertain. If this is the case anyone may become stranded or even worse run out of fuel on the freeway putting the people inside the vehicle in danger and causing life and death accidents. There is no documentation in the owners manual about the discrepancies between what Toyota states (14.5 gallons) and the 11 gallons that it takes when filling up at the gas station.

Multiple times PCS (pre-collision warning system) would go off only in city driving when i was passing a car that had turned right (and just completing turn)-approximately 45 degrees to from right of my car. The dealer said my car needed front wheel alignment and said that had been the problem. Using the computer analysis system and since i was not getting a warning light saying PCS was not working, i was told it was fine. On a recently completed road trip out of town, at 70 miles an hour, PCS through us into hard break due to a car that had just entered exit ramp-45 degrees to my car. Almost caused multicar incident. Can not get further help from dealership since computer analysis not showing issue and no response from Toyoto NA. Have since just turned system fully off.

While driving on the freeway I heard what sounded like a tiny pebble hit the front windshield. Shortly after while driving I noticed a crack in the shape of an arc appeared from the passenger side bottom of the windshield towards the upper center of the windshield. This crack continues to grow as I drove. Even parked, the crack has expanded slightly.

I bought a Toyota Venza, I made my first road trip and with approximately 800 miles traveled a small rock rubbed my windshield and became a big rock chip, I took it to repair on safelite and it was not 100, it is still crashed. I have read that several people have had the same incident, I am concerned that this is an issue of failures in the security systems with the front windshield.

Wind screen of new Venza is very vulnerable to chipping. In first 7 months of driving it happened twice. On same route I drove Prius for 230,000 miles with no issues. It seems the glass is not tough enough and with slight hit by stone it easily breaks. This happened while I was on a stop sign waiting for other vehicle to pass.

Re: Complaint, rear turn signals Purchase new Toyota Venza on 8/12/21. Several complaints with the vehicle after a couple of days after driving. Programming and setting up all of the features is very complicated and the instructional manual does not match the vehicle. The dealership was unable to set several parameters and is in contact with the manufacturer for information. One in particular that NHTSA should be concerned with is the rear turn signal lights. I believe that the rear turn signals are poor design. The only rear turn signal lights are mounted low on the bumper. The Lumosity seem dim and the dimension is small approximately 5 inches long and ½ inch wide. They are too low for good visibility. They are mounted only 24 inches above the ground. With this low position on the bumper, vehicles approaching from the rear are unable to view at closer distances. Vehicles cannot see the turn lamps at closer distances. The Venza also has small turn lamps on the side view mirrors however; I also feel with poor visibility. Yesterday, a vehicle attempted to squeeze along my right side for a right turn; likely because they could not see the R-turn lamp blinking.

Pebble hit windshield. No initial damage 1/2 hour later, windshield crack across entire windshield. This appears to be happening to other 2021 Venza based on internet comments. There has been 2 month delay in fixing. Still not fixed. Local Toyota says there is back order of 500 windshields. This is brand new model. The number of back order sounds excessive.

An object, possibly a rock, flew up from the road and caused a chip in the windshield that turned into a crack from the far left side of the windshield to the middle. I have had several other vehicles in the past that rocks have hit the windshield and no damage was done.

The contact owns a 2021 Toyota Venza. The contact stated while the vehicle was parked, the vehicle failed to open or start. The contact was able to jumpstart the vehicle with some assistance and the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that there was an error in the firmware of the vehicle that caused the vehicle to constantly communicate the status to the manufacturer leading to the battery failure. The dealer informed the contact that the failure was related to a TSB. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that the owner needed to report the failure to the dealer for the TSB to be accessed. The approximate failure mileage was 5,500.

1 month after buying vehicle i heard as if a rock hit the car. I assume that’s what happened but i did not see it hit. When i got home, i saw a chip in the lower edge of the passenger side (in the black part of the glass) on the windshield. There have been no appointments to repair, but 6 weeks after, the windshield cracked overnight while sitting in the garage. The crack formed an arc towards the driver side and is about 18 inches long. I have noticed reporte of other owners reporting the exact same thing, so thought i would report based on how similar their accounts are to my experience.

While traveling in CT on Sunday 7/11/21 a small pea sized stone struck windshield directly in front of driver position about 10 inches up from bottom of glass. Within 10 miles the windshield cracked to the bottom edge from the original contact area and additionally up and across windshield to a total length of about 20 inches. The original damage likely could have been repaired but with the run of the crack now has to be replaced. Multiple others have reported this issue on the Venza. Pics available for review by government or Toyota representatives. Windshield is being scheduled for replacement in the next week or so.

Very small rock hit front windshield, which cracked soon after purchase. I might be willing to rack this up to bad luck, but there are several others that have posted online about the exact same scenario, see ToyotaNation forum https://www.toyotanation.com/threads/windshield-repair.1695878/ as well as on the Facebook 2021+ Venza hybrid club. I think its likely that the front windshield is under engineered and this presents a safety hazard. Im a fan of Toyota but I think there is something that needs to be looked at here.

Small rock hit windshield causing it to immediately crack 12” long and in an arc. In 55 years driving never had this occurrence. Checked website and apparently there are quite a few incidents of the same size of crack and arc happening in 2021 Venza. Wondered if there is a manufacturers defect with this windshield.

On May 19, 2021, 5 days after purchasing the 2021 Venza XLE, I got a rock peck about 6 inches from the bottom on the driver side center of the windshield. I was on my way home and stopped by a windshield repair shop to see if it could be repaired to avoid further damage. The repair shop said it could and to return the following noon with the car. By the following morning, the small peck had turned into a 12 inch long run. Now it's about 30 inches long. A replacement windshield ($964 for the part) has been ordered but is on back-order with no projected delivery date. There are no aftermarket options.

The venzas headlights, while on low beam only, have 2 shadows or blobs in the drivers view. It is very distracting especially while turning or cornering. It appears as if things are running out in front of the car. LEFT AND RIGHT HEADLIGHTS, IN 'LOW BEAM' SETTING, HAVE A VISIBLE 'DARK SHADOW' THAT PROJECTS SLIGHTLY OFF TO THE LEFT OF THE FIELD OF VIEW. WHEN DRIVING ON DARK FREEWAYS, YOU ARE CONSTANTLY DISTRACTED, THINKING THERE IS A MOVING OBJECT APPROACHING FROM THE LEFT. HIGH BEAM SETTING DOES NOT HAVE THIS SITUATION.

FUEL GAUGE AND FUEL TANK DO NOT OPERATE PROPERLY, LIKE THE 2020 RAV 4 GAS TANK PROBLEM. ON 2/8/21 WHEN THE GAUGE INDICATED 1/2 TANK, I PUT IN 9.997 GAL OF GAS, SINCE THIS CAR ONLY HAS A 14 1/2 GAL TANK THE TANK MUST NOT HAVE BEEN 1/2 FULL. ON 2/14/21 THE GAUGE READ 2/3 , I PUMPED GAS AND THE PUMP SHUT OFF AT 1.1 GAL, I SLOWLY ADDED GAS AS THE PUMP KEPT CLINKING OFF TILL I GOT A TOTAL OF 1.743 GAL OF GAS INTO THE TANK. I STARTED THE ENGINE AND THE GAS GAUGE STILL READ 2/3, SO I STARTED THE GAS PUMP AGAIN SLOWLY ADDED ANOTHER 1.287 GAL OF GAS. I STARTED THE CAR AGAIN AND THE GAUGE STILL READ 2/3 FULL. I LEFT THE GAS STATION AND AFTER DRIVING APPROX 4 MILES THE GAUGE SUDDENLY WENT UP ABOVE THE FULL MARK. I TALKED TO ONE PERSON AT THE LOCAL TOYOTA SERVICE CENTER AND WAS TOLD THAT THE GAS TANK WAS THE SAME PART NUMBER AS THE ONES BEING REPLACED ON THE RAV4 HYBRIDS FOR THE PROBLEM OF THE TANKS NOT FILLING PROPERLY AND THE GAS GAUGE NOT OPERATING PROPERLY, BUT NOTHING CAN BE DONE UNTIL TOYOTA FINDS THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM AND SENDS OUT INSTRUCTIONS TO REPAIR OR REPLACE THE DEFECTIVE PARTS. I THEN TALKED TO ANOTHER SUPERVISOR AT ANOTHER TOYOTA DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THAT THE 2021 VENZA HAS A BLADDER IN THE FUEL TANK AND THE ONLY WAY FOR IT TO FILL PROPERLY AND THE GAUGE TO WORK PROPERLY IS TO WAIT UNTIL THE VEHICLE HAS LESS THAN 1/4 TANK OF GAS BEFORE FILLING WITH GAS. AFTER SPENDING OVER $42,000 FOR A NEW VEHICLE THIS SHOULD NOT BE A PROBLEM CUSTOMERS SHOULD HAVE TO BE CONCERNED AB

MY 2021 TOYOTA VENZA HYBRID LE CLAIMS TO HAVE A 14.5 FUEL TANK CAPACITY BY TOYOTA BUT MINE WILL ONLY FILL UP TO AROUND 11 GALLONS WHEN IT GETS TO EMPTY. I TOOK THE VEHICLE IN TWICE TO TOYOTA'S SERVICE DEPARTMENT AND THEY CONFIRMED MY VEHICLE WAS ONLY FILING UP TO 11 GALLONS BUT THAT THIS WAS 'NORMAL AND PART OF THE DESIGN SINCE IT HAS A RESERVE OF GAS.' HOWEVER, THE NEW TOYOTA RAV4 HYBRIDS ARE REPORTING THE SAME EXACT ISSUE WHICH TOYOTA HAS ACKNOWLEDGED. BOTH VEHICLES SHARE THE SAME ENGINE, HYBRID SYSTEM, AND SAME 14.5 FUEL TANK AND ARE ALMOST IDENTICAL MECHANICALLY. HOW COME IT'S AN ISSUE FOR THE RAV4 HYBRID AND NOT MY 2021 TOYOTA VENZA? EITHER WAY, MY TOYOTA IS NOT GETTING ANYWHERE NEAR THE RANGE THAT TOYOTA ADVERTISES ON A FULL TANK AND IS ONLY FILING UP TO 11 GALLONS. I UNDERSTAND MOST CARS WILL LET YOU GET TO A GAS STATION IF YOU EVER GET TO EMPTY, BUT THE DIFFERENCE IS THAT MOST CARS WILL FILL UP VERY CLOSE TO WHAT THE TANK CAPACITY IS ADVERTISED TO BE. SO EITHER THE VEHICLE'S COMPUTER IS LYING BECAUSE IT WILL TELL ME 11 MILES DISTANCE TO EMPTY WHEN THE LOW FUEL LIGHT COMES ON OR TOYOTA LIED TO ME, BOTH ARE TELLING ME TWO DIFFERENT THINGS. THIS CAN BE UNSAFE FOR SOMEONE WHO PURCHASES THE VEHICLE AND BELIEVES THAT THEY HAVE A 14.5 FUEL TANK AND ARE LEFT STRANDED BECAUSE THE VEHICLE IS ONLY FILLING UP TO 11 GALLONS. I'M GETTING 42 MILES PER GALLON SO THOSE EXTRA 3.5 GALLONS THAT MAY OR MAY NOT EXIST CAN MAKE A BIG DIFFERENCE IF YOU AREN'T SURE IF YOU'LL GET TO YOUR DESTIN
