This occurred in a brand new WRX with only 799 miles. I was driving on a very unpopulated road, and I had the high temperature warning display on the dash. The temperature gauge was reading high. I pulled over for a short duration to let the car cool down and then proceeded to limp it home since I was less than two miles away. I parked the car in the driveway, turned it off, exited the car, and noticed coolant leaking from the front of the bumper. I inspected what little amount of radiator that was exposed and could not find anything. I inspected my garage where the vehicle was previously parked and there was no trace of leaking coolant prior to leaving. It was towed to the dealership the next day, and they noted the vehicle was overheating driving it from the lot to the service bay. The dealer claims it failed from an impact. I went and inspected it myself expecting to see a hole in the radiator or obvious damage and couldn't find anything. I had to be assisted by a tech who used phrases like "I think it was in this area" and "near impossible place to be hit by something, but I guess it did." The "diagnostic" video points out an area the size of a tennis ball for where the alleged damage occurred- yet the damage is no where to be seen, especially what you would expect from an "impact". I've had a case open with Subaru of America for nearly three weeks with zero correspondence. There are plenty of posts in social media groups talking about radiator failures in 2022+ WRX's. Th

Reading this record

No unusual pattern of severe incidents in the complaint record.

Complaint counts track how many cars were sold and how long they have been on the road as much as they track quality. A common model from 2013 has had a decade to accumulate reports; a rare one from last year has not. The signal worth weighing is in the severity columns, in whether the same component keeps appearing, and in whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
