Kovatch Mobile Equipment Corp.: Equipment › Emergency › Siren/Lighting/Strobes › Controls

Kovatch Mobile Equipment Corp. reported this defect to federal regulators on Oct 6, 2026 and put the number of vehicles at risk at 2. The repair is free for as long as the recall stands.

The defect

Kovatch Mobile Equipment Corp. (KME) is recalling certain 2024 CV515 SFA 4x4 and Severe Service emergency vehicles. A node may become unresponsive and cause a loss of functionality of connected components, such as exterior lighting and pump-mode.

The risk

A loss of exterior lights can reduce the visibility of the vehicle to other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash. A loss of pump-mode function may prevent or delay the use of emergency equipment, increasing the risk of injury.

The remedy

KME will work with Fire Research Corporation to replace the node, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed November 1, 2026. Owners may contact KME customer service at 1-800-235-3928.

What this page is, and what to do next

A recall is not an opinion. It is a Part 573 report a manufacturer is required by federal law to file once it decides a defect poses an unreasonable risk to safety, and it commits them to repairing the vehicle at no cost to the owner. The three passages above are the manufacturer’s own wording as published by NHTSA.

This page describes the campaign. It cannot tell you whether one particular car has already been through the shop — that is tracked by VIN, and only the manufacturer knows it. Check yours at nhtsa.gov/recalls or with a franchised dealer, quoting campaign number 26V657000.
