NHTSA campaign 26V219000 · Part 573 safety recall report

Greenpower Motor Company Inc.: Equipment › Other › Labels

Greenpower Motor Company Inc. reported this defect to federal regulators on Apr 6, 2026 and put the number of vehicles at risk at 98. The repair is free for as long as the recall stands.

The defect

Greenpower Motor Company Inc. (Greenpower) is recalling certain 2020-2024 Nano Beast and 2021-2024 Beast school buses. The Cross View Mirror is designed to only view pedestrian around stopped buses. The label warning drivers not to use the mirror to view vehicular traffic may be missing. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111, "Rear Visibility."

The risk

Without a warning label, the driver may use the altered view to see other vehicles, increasing the risk of a crash.

The remedy

Greenpower will inspect and install the label as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 4, 2026. Owners may contact Greenpower's customer service at 1-909-346-1090. Greenpower's number for this recall is GP-SVS-26-001.

What this page is, and what to do next

A recall is not an opinion. It is a Part 573 report a manufacturer is required by federal law to file once it decides a defect poses an unreasonable risk to safety, and it commits them to repairing the vehicle at no cost to the owner. The three passages above are the manufacturer’s own wording as published by NHTSA.

This page describes the campaign. It cannot tell you whether one particular car has already been through the shop — that is tracked by VIN, and only the manufacturer knows it. Check yours at nhtsa.gov/recalls or with a franchised dealer, quoting campaign number 26V219000.
