Autocar, LLC reported this defect to federal regulators on Apr 11, 2024 and put the number of vehicles at risk at 41. The repair is free for as long as the recall stands.
The defect
Autocar, LLC (Autocar) is recalling certain 2022-2023 DC (Legend) dump trucks. The upper hoist cylinder mounting pin may fail.
The risk
A pin failure can allow the hoist to fall, increasing the risk of injury. In addition, the hoist cylinder can disconnect from the vehicle, becoming a road hazard and increasing the risk of a crash.
The remedy
Dealers will inspect, repair, or replace the pin as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed February 24, 2026. Owners may contact Autocar customer service at 1-888-218-3611. Autocar's number for this recall is DC-2403.
