Altec Industries, Inc. reported this defect to federal regulators on Jun 16, 2023 and put the number of vehicles at risk at 3,824. The repair is free for as long as the recall stands.
The defect
Altec Industries, Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 1999-2022 L Series and LR Series aerial devices. A hydraulic hose may have been installed between the cylinder port and load-holding valve instead of metallic tubing, which can result in a damaged hydraulic hose and failure of the load-holding feature.
The risk
Failure of the load-holding feature can result in unintended movement of the platform or load, increasing the risk of injury.
The remedy
Altec will inspect the units for a hydraulic hose and replace it with specified metallic tubing, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed August 11, 2023. Owners may contact Altec customer service 1-877-462-5832. Altec's number for this recall is CSN 3090.

A recall is not an opinion. It is a Part 573 report a manufacturer is required by federal law to file once it decides a defect poses an unreasonable risk to safety, and it commits them to repairing the vehicle at no cost to the owner. The three passages above are the manufacturer’s own wording as published by NHTSA.
This page describes the campaign. It cannot tell you whether one particular car has already been through the shop — that is tracked by VIN, and only the manufacturer knows it. Check yours at nhtsa.gov/recalls or with a franchised dealer, quoting campaign number 23V433000.
