Thor Motor Coach reported this defect to federal regulators on Jun 10, 2021 and put the number of vehicles at risk at 321. The repair is free for as long as the recall stands.
The defect
Thor Motor Coach (TMC) is recalling certain 2018-2022 Axis 25.6 and 2018-2021 Vegas 25.6 motorhomes. The heat shield between the LP tank and chassis muffler was not installed.
The risk
A missing heat shield increases the risk of a fire.
The remedy
Dealers will install a heat shield, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 22, 2021. Owners may contact TMC customer service at 1-877-855-2867. TMC's number for this recall is RC000228.
