Ferrara Fire Apparatus, Inc. reported this defect to federal regulators on May 13, 2021 and put the number of vehicles at risk at 259. The repair is free for as long as the recall stands.
The defect
Ferrara Fire Apparatus, Inc. (Ferrara) is recalling certain 2017-2020 Inferno and Igniter vehicles. The sealing washer may not seat correctly in the pilot bore holes, allowing the high pressure fuel rail assembly to leak.
The risk
A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source increases the risk of a fire.
The remedy
Dealers will inspect the rail threads, and replace the rail as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on June 7, 2021. Owners may contact Ferrara customer service at 1-800-443-9006.
