Rosenbauer America: Suspension › Front
Rosenbauer America reported this defect to federal regulators on Jan 23, 2020 and put the number of vehicles at risk at 67. The repair is free for as long as the recall stands.
The defect
Rosenbauer America (Rosenbauer) is recalling certain 2014-2019 Emergency Response Commander vehicles equipped with Reyco front suspensions. The front shocks may separate from their upper mount on the front suspension. The loose shock may contact and damage the steering gear housing, possibly causing a steering fluid leak and a loss of power steering assist.
The risk
A loss of hydraulic steering assist can increase the risk of a crash.
The remedy
Rosenbauer will notify owners, and Reyco dealers will install a new bolt, nut, hardened washer, and shim, free of charge. The recall began February 6, 2020. Owners may contact Reyco customer service at 1-765-543-5815 or Rosenbauer customer service at 1-877-543-5591.

What this page is, and what to do next
A recall is not an opinion. It is a Part 573 report a manufacturer is required by federal law to file once it decides a defect poses an unreasonable risk to safety, and it commits them to repairing the vehicle at no cost to the owner. The three passages above are the manufacturer’s own wording as published by NHTSA.
This page describes the campaign. It cannot tell you whether one particular car has already been through the shop — that is tracked by VIN, and only the manufacturer knows it. Check yours at nhtsa.gov/recalls or with a franchised dealer, quoting campaign number 20V040000.
