Blue Bird Body Company: Equipment › Other › Labels
Blue Bird Body Company reported this defect to federal regulators on Aug 28, 2018 and put the number of vehicles at risk at 551. The repair is free for as long as the recall stands.
The defect
Blue Bird Body Company (Blue Bird) is recalling certain 2019 Blue Bird All American and 2019-2020 Blue Bird Vision school buses, equipped with certain NextGen School Bus seats with Integrated Child Restraint Systems. These seats may be missing a warning label on the lower restraint strap. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 213, "Child Restraint Systems."
The risk
Without a warning label, the seat may be used improperly, increasing the risk of injury.
The remedy
Blue Bird will notify owners, and dealers will install a warning label to the lower restraint strap portion of the Restraint Belt System, free of charge. The recall began September 26, 2018. Owners may contact Blue Bird customer service at 1-478-822-2242. Blue Bird's number for this recall is R18ZN-SB.

What this page is, and what to do next
A recall is not an opinion. It is a Part 573 report a manufacturer is required by federal law to file once it decides a defect poses an unreasonable risk to safety, and it commits them to repairing the vehicle at no cost to the owner. The three passages above are the manufacturer’s own wording as published by NHTSA.
This page describes the campaign. It cannot tell you whether one particular car has already been through the shop — that is tracked by VIN, and only the manufacturer knows it. Check yours at nhtsa.gov/recalls or with a franchised dealer, quoting campaign number 18V566000.
