American Custom Golf Cars: Visibility › Windshield
American Custom Golf Cars reported this defect to federal regulators on Feb 27, 2018 and put the number of vehicles at risk at 72. The repair is free for as long as the recall stands.
The defect
American Custom Golf Cars (ACG) is recalling certain 2016-2017 Moke vehicles. These vehicles may have been built with windshields that do not have laminated glazing. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 205, "Glazing Materials," and number 500, "Low Speed Vehicles."
The risk
In the event of a crash, if the non-laminated windshield shatters, it can increase the risk of injury.
The remedy
ACG will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the windshield, replacing any that are not properly labeled AS-1 windshields, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin March 2018. Owners may contact ACG customer service at 1-909-597-2885. ACG's number for this recall is ACG-RC2018-01.

What this page is, and what to do next
A recall is not an opinion. It is a Part 573 report a manufacturer is required by federal law to file once it decides a defect poses an unreasonable risk to safety, and it commits them to repairing the vehicle at no cost to the owner. The three passages above are the manufacturer’s own wording as published by NHTSA.
This page describes the campaign. It cannot tell you whether one particular car has already been through the shop — that is tracked by VIN, and only the manufacturer knows it. Check yours at nhtsa.gov/recalls or with a franchised dealer, quoting campaign number 18V135000.
