NHTSA campaign 17V649000 · Part 573 safety recall report

Eldorado Mobility Inc: Fuel System, Gasoline › Delivery › Hoses, Lines/Piping, and Fittings

Eldorado Mobility Inc reported this defect to federal regulators on Oct 13, 2017 and put the number of vehicles at risk at 6,145. The repair is free for as long as the recall stands.

The defect

Eldorado Mobility Inc. (Eldorado Mobility) is recalling certain 2010-2017 Amerivan vehicles. The crimp fasteners that secure the fuel line connectors may not be fully crimped, allowing fuel to leak.

The risk

A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source can increase the risk of a fire.

The remedy

Eldorado Mobility will notify owners, and dealers will replace the fuel lines, free of charge. Owners may contact Eldorado Mobility customer service at 1-800-955-9086. Note: This recall supersedes recall 16V222. The recall began on December 5, 2017. Any vehicle previously repaired under that campaign, needs to be remedied again under this campaign.

What this page is, and what to do next

A recall is not an opinion. It is a Part 573 report a manufacturer is required by federal law to file once it decides a defect poses an unreasonable risk to safety, and it commits them to repairing the vehicle at no cost to the owner. The three passages above are the manufacturer’s own wording as published by NHTSA.

This page describes the campaign. It cannot tell you whether one particular car has already been through the shop — that is tracked by VIN, and only the manufacturer knows it. Check yours at nhtsa.gov/recalls or with a franchised dealer, quoting campaign number 17V649000.
