Airstream, Inc.: Equipment › Other › Labels
Airstream, Inc. reported this defect to federal regulators on Jan 20, 2017 and put the number of vehicles at risk at 82. The repair is free for as long as the recall stands.
The defect
Airstream, Inc. is recalling certain 2017 Flying Cloud, International, and Sport recreational trailers. The Federal Certification label and Tire Placards on these vehicles have incorrect information. The label was printed for ST225/75R15 Load Range E tires, but the vehicle has ST225/75R15 Load Range D tires. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 110, "Tire Selection and Rims" and Part 567, "Certification."
The risk
The incorrect information on the labels could cause an owner to overinflate the tires, possibly resulting in a tire blowout, increasing the risk of a crash.
The remedy
Airstream will notify owners, and dealers will replace the incorrect label with a corrected label, free of charge. The recall began on February 15, 2017. Owners may contact Airstream customer service at 1-937-596-6111, extension 7401 or 7411.

What this page is, and what to do next
A recall is not an opinion. It is a Part 573 report a manufacturer is required by federal law to file once it decides a defect poses an unreasonable risk to safety, and it commits them to repairing the vehicle at no cost to the owner. The three passages above are the manufacturer’s own wording as published by NHTSA.
This page describes the campaign. It cannot tell you whether one particular car has already been through the shop — that is tracked by VIN, and only the manufacturer knows it. Check yours at nhtsa.gov/recalls or with a franchised dealer, quoting campaign number 17V044000.
