Prevost Cars, Inc.: Fuel System, Diesel
Prevost Cars, Inc. reported this defect to federal regulators on Mar 4, 2016 and put the number of vehicles at risk at 1,348. The repair is free for as long as the recall stands.
The defect
Prevost Cars, Inc. (Prevost) is recalling certain model year 2012-2016 H3-41 and H3-45, 2011-2016 H3-VIP, 2011-2016 X3-45 Coach vehicles, 2012-2016 X3-VIP vehicles, and 2011-2013 XL2 Entertainer vehicles. The coolant line on the affected vehicles may be missing a positioning clip, allowing the coolant line to rub against the braided fuel hose at one of the injectors.
The risk
Contact between the fuel line and the coolant line may cause a fuel leak and result in fuel spraying onto hot exhaust components increasing the risk of an engine compartment fire.
The remedy
Prevost will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the fuel line for abrasion, replacing it as necessary. The fuel and coolant lines will be properly secured. These repairs will be performed free of charge. The recall began on April 20, 2016. Owners may contact Prevost customer service at 1-418-883-3391. Prevost's number for this recall is SR16-18.

What this page is, and what to do next
A recall is not an opinion. It is a Part 573 report a manufacturer is required by federal law to file once it decides a defect poses an unreasonable risk to safety, and it commits them to repairing the vehicle at no cost to the owner. The three passages above are the manufacturer’s own wording as published by NHTSA.
This page describes the campaign. It cannot tell you whether one particular car has already been through the shop — that is tracked by VIN, and only the manufacturer knows it. Check yours at nhtsa.gov/recalls or with a franchised dealer, quoting campaign number 16V133000.
