Ducati North America: Structure › Motorcycle › Kickstand/Center Stand
Ducati North America reported this defect to federal regulators on Oct 9, 2015 and put the number of vehicles at risk at 869. The repair is free for as long as the recall stands.
The defect
Ducati North America (Ducati) is recalling certain model year 2015-2016 Multistrada 1200 and 1200 S motorcycles manufactured December 1, 2014, to June 11, 2015. In the affected vehicles, the side-stand may break, due to an incorrect length of the side-stand support tube.
The risk
If the side-stand breaks, the motorcyle would fall over, increasing the risk of injury to the rider and/or the passenger.
The remedy
Ducati will notify owners, and dealers will replace the side-stand support tubes, as necessary, free of charge. The recall began on November 5, 2015. Owners may contact Ducati customer service at 1-800-231-6696. The recall number for this recall is RCL-15-003.

What this page is, and what to do next
A recall is not an opinion. It is a Part 573 report a manufacturer is required by federal law to file once it decides a defect poses an unreasonable risk to safety, and it commits them to repairing the vehicle at no cost to the owner. The three passages above are the manufacturer’s own wording as published by NHTSA.
This page describes the campaign. It cannot tell you whether one particular car has already been through the shop — that is tracked by VIN, and only the manufacturer knows it. Check yours at nhtsa.gov/recalls or with a franchised dealer, quoting campaign number 15V637000.
