CJay Trailers Inc.: Latches/Locks/Linkages
CJay Trailers Inc. reported this defect to federal regulators on Dec 17, 2013 and put the number of vehicles at risk at 2,261. The repair is free for as long as the recall stands.
The defect
CJay Trailers Inc. (CJay) is recalling certain model year 2006-2013 CJ610, CJ612, CJ714, CJ716, CJ814, CJ816, CJ820, CJ823, and CJ824, model year 2007-2013 CJ510, model year 2008-2013 CJ813, model year 2010-2013 FX9-620 Combo and model year 2009-2013 CJ830 cargo trailers equipped with Fastec-brand door locks. It may be possible to remove the key from the lock in a way that potentially jams the deadbolt.
The risk
If the deadbolt jams, the interior side of the door lock may also jam. A person inside the trailer at the time will then be locked in and be unable to exit the vehicle, increasing the risk of injury.
The remedy
CJay will notify owners, and Fastec will coordinate the inspection and replacement of the cylinders, as needed, free of charge. The recall began in February 2014. Owners may contact CJay Trailers at 1-306-694-0445 or Fastec at 1-800-837-2505. CJay's number for this recall is R-12-2013.

A recall is not an opinion. It is a Part 573 report a manufacturer is required by federal law to file once it decides a defect poses an unreasonable risk to safety, and it commits them to repairing the vehicle at no cost to the owner. The three passages above are the manufacturer’s own wording as published by NHTSA.
This page describes the campaign. It cannot tell you whether one particular car has already been through the shop — that is tracked by VIN, and only the manufacturer knows it. Check yours at nhtsa.gov/recalls or with a franchised dealer, quoting campaign number 13V626000.
