I was driving on the highway and was rear ended by another vehicle which lifted the back end of my truck from the ground. Both side air bags deployed. I was wearing a hoodie at the time and the airbag deployment caused my hoodie to catch on fire. There was not an open flame for me to know it was burning. Instead, it smoldered and burnt my hoodie material. I could feel the underside of my arm stinging and the holes in my sleeve, but believed that it was a result of the airbag hitting my arm and causing essentially a bad carpet burn. However, this caused second degree burns to the bottom side of my arm near my arm pit. I discovered after the incident that airbag deployment is assisted by gunpowder. I am not sure if this is what caused my hoodie to catch fire. I also discovered that 2021-2022 Rams recently had a recall on Side Airbags due to improperly compressed air. My truck is a 2019 however, so I'm not sure if that recall should be expanded to include additional years.

When the Temperature drops below 30, the truck will randomly give the warning "Battery Saver ON some systems may have reduced power". Then a random system will be shut down, the most noticeable system to get shut down is the radio.
Being told that the fuel pump is not available by my local dealership and was told if the vehicle fails to operate I will be unable to be provided a loaner vehicle until a part can be manufactured I need to file a complaint this is new low mileage truck and if it goes down. Am I just of luck?
High pressure pump failure. Already recalled but not being repaired in a timely manner. Vehicle is in dealership parking lot, site says remedy not available but there is and manufacturer is not releasing it. The high pressure pump in the newest vehicles is the remedy.
Drag link assembly seperation

Engine started to slip or misfire. Became worse and then light came on saying Exhaust Emission Service was needed. The truck lost power as it limped to the side of the road. The Service Electronic Ignition light then came on and truck turned off. Would not crank again.
The contact owns a 2019 Ram 2500. The contact stated that while driving approximately 25 MPH, the engine started to knock. In August 2020, while I was driving my vehicle at approximately 15 mph, with approximately 13,500 miles on the odometer, I noticed that the vehicle's transmission gauge was about 230-240 degrees. I pulled over and smelled smoke. Luckily, my passengers and I were able to get out of the vehicle. The vehicle was completely destroyed. I have video showing flames coming out of the passenger side engine compartment. I had previously taken my vehicle in for repair for recall W03 to have the transmission valve body replaced so the transmission wouldn't cause an engine fire. FCA had an expert inspect the vehicle and he found that "fire progression appears to be from engine compartment thru entire vehicle terminating at rear truck bed," that "possible source of ignition is hot surface of turbocharger/exhaust components. - Most likely method of ignition is transmission fluid expelled from dipstick tube," "origin appears to be in the engine compartment," and "possible cause appears to be transmission fluid expelled from dipstick tube onto turbocharger/exhaust components. The determination of possible cause is based on: 1. Owner/driver's description of events. 2. Transmission of dipstick is extended ~ 27.0 inch from the fill tube." Despite this, FCA refused to pay me for my destroyed vehicle (or the trailer that it destroyed) because: "After the inspection of your vehicle, the information at hand would not permit us to associate the fire with a manufacturing or assembly error. We are sure
Cp4 failed while driving down the road. Lost power and could not accelerate. Coasted to the side of the road. No warning. Was stranded on the side of IH310 in New Orleans area. Beings I was out of town I had to take it to a shop where they confirmed it was a cp4 pump failure and had to replace the pump and injectors out of pocket. Vehicle was inspected by a service provider and no issues before this.
Driving home one evening and truck started losing power and downshifting and completely disabled on the road. Transmission was blowing fluid out of the dipstick tube and engine was running horribly then died all of a sudden and wouldn’t start back up. Come to find out after having transmission repaired by a shop because Ram refused to warranty it, that the CP4 high pressure fuel pump has Grenaded and sent metal all through my fuel system and my truck is completely disabled with a “void” warranty due to a dealer claiming I didn’t perform a service on my truck that isn’t due for another 17,000 miles.
Living in warmer climate area such as Central Valley in California the A/C does not blow cold enough to cool the cabin of the truck. My other vehicles I own all blow in the low to mid 30’s. The ram can’t get below 50 degrees which is very concerning when the outside temperature is 110+.
Update rrt 9 bullet 18-010-21 made grinding noise in transmission when vehicle down shifts right before coming to a stop.
The wipers run randomly or in some cases when it's raining the fail to run.
The tailgate has issues closing and the supports meaning the wire that supports the tailgates when it is deployed one will have tension on it and the other is loose. The tailgate support cables are the same length. I think it has to do with the bed being worked. I have reported it to Huffines dodge dealer and they said there is no fix. The tale gate has opened when in use due to the latch / tail gate not closing correctly because of the out of square bed.
The contact owns a 2019 Ram 2500. The contact stated while attempting to enter the vehicle, the driver’s side front interior door handle failed and the contact nearly fell to the ground. The contact indicated that a plastic post piece used to bolt and secure the handle had failed. The local dealer and manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 5,300.
THE DRIVERS SEAT BELT DOESN'T RETRACT ON IT OWN. I'M CONSTANTLY HAVING TO PULL THE EXTRA SLACK BACK TO ALLOW IT TO RETRACT. IT GET HUNG UP ON THE ADJUSTABLE LOOP ON THE PILLAR. THE EXTRA SLACK MAKES IT SO WHEN YO UNSTOP SHORT (OR CRASH) THE BELT WON'T LOCK TO KEEP YOU FROM FLYING FORWARD
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2019 RAM 2500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE HAULING WITH THE VEHICLE, THE VEHICLE HESITATED, JERKED, AND DECELERATED INDEPENDENTLY TO 15 MPH. THE 2019 TO 2020 MODEL YEAR RAM 2500 HEAVY DUTY EQUIPPED WITH A 6.7L CUMMINS DIESEL ENGINE HAS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE THAT COULD CAUSE A STALL AND INCREASE THE RISK OF A CRASH. THE BOSCH CP4.2 FUEL INJECTION PUMP HAS A VERY HIGH RATE OF SUDDEN FAILURE LEADING TO IMMEDIATE STOPPAGE ON THE ENGINE AND ENGINE BRAKING SYSTEM. THE PUMP DESTROYS ITSELF AND TAKES OUT THE REST OF THE ENTIRE FUEL SYSTEM LEADING TO REPAIRS IN THE $20,000 USD RANGE. FCA & RAM HAVE ATTEMPTED TO REVISE THE PUMP IN LATE (JULY) 2020 TO SOLVE THE ISSUE BUT THE FAILURES KEEP OCCURRING. FOR THE 2021 MODEL YEAR, FCA & RAM HAVE CHANGED THE PUMP ENTIRELY AND REVERTED BACK TO USING AN OLDER, SAFER, MORE RELIABLE DESIGN. NO PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENTS OF NEITHER THE PUMP REVISION IN 2020, NOR THE PUMP CHANGE IN 2021 HAVE BEEN MADE. THE ISSUE IS SO PREVALENT THAT THE REPLACEMENT PUMPS AND REPAIRS GENERALLY HAVE A 30-90 DAY WAIT PERIOD WHERE THE CUSTOMER IS WITHOUT THE PRIMARY VEHICLE. THIS PROBLEM IS A SUBSTANTIATED SAFETY RISK. ACCORDING TO A TEXAS JUDGE IN A BOSCH CP4.2 LAWSUIT, WHEN ANOTHER AUTOMAKER, GM TRIED TO DISMISS THE CASE SAYING THE PUMP FAILURE IS NOT A SAFETY ISSUE, THE COURT RESPONDED: "THE WORST CASE SCENARIO OF A TRUCK SPONTANEOUSLY STALLING AT HIGH SPEEDS IS NOT A MERE INCONVENIENCE. NOR IS IT A MERE INCONVENIENCE TO SPEND BETWEEN $8,000 TO $20,000 ON REPAIRS TO MAKE THE TRUCKS FIT FOR THEIR ORDINARY PURPOSE. THE COURT REJECTS GM'S SUGGESTION THAT THE RISK OF SPONTANEOUS ENGINE FAILURE WHILE DRIVING IS NOT, A
I STARTED MY PICKUP AND PULLED OUT OF GARAGE PUT IN PARK TO CLOSE MY GARAGE DOOR AND WITH 2-3 MINUTES AT IDLE, SMOKE WAS COMING INTO THE CAB, GOT OUT OF VEHICLE AND OPENED HOOD AND FOUND FLAMES COMING FROM FUEL INJECTION PUMP AREA, WAS ABLE TO GET FIRE OUT BEFORE IT BURNT THE TRUCK COMPLETELY.
THE RETRACTOR ON THE SEATBELT DON'T RETRACT YOU HAVE TO FEED THE SEATBELT BACK IN THE HOLE IN ORDER FOR IT TO STAY IN YOUR CAR. IF I TRY TO PULL REALLY HARD THE SEATBELT DOSE NOT STOP 3/5 TIME YOU PULL IT. IF AN ACCIDENT HAPPENS TO MY FAMILY IT WILL BE ON THE HANDS OF RAM.
DEF SYSTEM FAILS IN COLD WEATHER AND A RESULT IS THE TRUCKS SPEED IS REDUCED TO 5MPH THIS CANT BE SAFE DRIVING DOWN A BUSY INTERSTATE.
THE TAIL GATE OPENED AND WAS DAMAGED WHILE TOWING A DUMP TRAILER. I KNOW THAT I SLAMMED IT SHUT, BECAUSE IT DOESN'T SHUT ALL THE WAY IF I DON'T SLAM IT.
REFERENCE CUMMINS DIESEL MOTORS IN RAM 2500 AND 3500 IN MODEL YEAR 2019, RAM MADE THE SWITCH TO A BOSCH CP4 HIGH PRESSURE INJECTION PUMP. (FOR MODEL YEAR 2021, RAM HAS SWITCHED BACK TO THE CP3 UTILIZED PRIOR TO 2019) THIS PUMP IS PRONE TO SUDDEN AND CATASTROPHIC FAILURE, WHICH RENDERS THE VEHICLE IMMEDIATELY IMMOBILE. THIS CAN RESULT IN LOSS OF CONTROL, INABILITY TO MANEUVER OUT OF HARMS WAY AND ULTIMATELY SERIOUS BODILY INJURY.

TRUCK MAKING TICKING NOISE FROM ENGINE FROM FUEL PRESSURE PUMP CP4?? MAKES NOISE AT IDLE AND WHEN IN MOTION SOMETIMES JERKS AND STALLS
I JUST PURCHASED A USED 2019 RAM ON DAY TWO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON LOSS OF POWER WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEED. DEALER IS TELLING ME IT IS CODEP0299 THEY CHECKED AND CLEARED CODE. NOW 12/18/ BACK WITH DEALER FOR SAME CODE P0299 AND LOSS OF POWER OR GOING 8NTO LIMP MODE.
TWO DIFFERENT TIMES WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE STALLED. BOTH TIMES IT WAS BROKEN WIRES TO THE FUEL PUMP. ONE HAD RUBBED ON SOMETHING CAUSING THE BREAK, NOT SURE WHY THE OTHER ONE BROKE. I WAS ON A HIGHWAY BOTH TIMES. FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED WAS AROUND 11/19/2020 THE. AGAIN ON 12/11/2020
PULLEY ON THE ENGINE SQUEAKS AFTER COLD STARTS.
TRUCK HAS CP4 FUEL INJECTOR PUMP. PUMP CAN FAIL WITHOUT WARNING. WHEN IT FAILS THE PUMP DISTROYS THE FUEL RAIL SYSTEM. TRUCK CAN THEN LEAVE THE OCCUPANTS IN A DANGEROUS SITUATION. WHEN PUMP SHUTS DOWN THE ENGINE YOU LOOSE STEERING AND BRAKES. YOU ALSO LOOSE THE EXHAUST BRAKE FEATURE. HAS NOT HAPPENED ON MY TRUCK. THESE PUMPS WILL FAIL AT SOME POINT.
THE TRUCK WAS PUT INTO PARK I OPENED THE DOOR AND ABOUT 5 SECONDS LATER IT STARTS ROLLING DOWN A SLIGHT INCLINE, THE DOOR HIT ME ,THE TRUCKS TIRES WERE SKIDING FOR ABOUT 25 FEET AND CAME TO A STOP. I CHECKED THE TRUCK AND IT WAS IN PARK, THE WAY I LEFT IT.
FUEL PUMP HAS FAILED TWICE IN LESS THAN 6,000 MILES. THIS TRUCK WAS PURCHASED NEW. TRUCK WAS MOVING DOWN THE STREET AT NORMAL TOWN SPEEDS ( LESS THAN 40 MPH) STARTED SLOWING AND ENGINE QUIT. HAD TO HAVE THE TRUCK TOWED BOTH TIMES TO HOME THEN TOWED TO DEALER FOR REPAIR.
POWER STEERING CONTINUES TO GO OUT, VIBRATION AND "STICKING" AS I PRESS THE BRAKE, AND CLUNKING IN THE SUSPENSION. DEALERSHIP CANNOT FIGURE IT OUT!!!!! VIBRATION OCCURS CONSTANTLY, MORE SO ON START UP. CLUNKING OCCURS WHEN GOING AROUND A TURN AT ANY MPH. I HAVE VIDEOS TO SHOW BOTH ISSUES!
CP4 PUMP NOISE
MY RAM 2500 WAS PICKED UP FROM RAM SERVICE CENTER SAT JULY 24TH, ON SUNDAY JULY 25TH THE ENGINE FAILED ON MY WIFE AND KIDS WHILE DRIVING DOWN A CURVED COUNTY ROAD. THE VEHICLE LOST POWER AND WOULD NOT RESTART. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP SINCE JULY 25TF. THE VEHICLE ONLY HAD 6,200 MILES ON IT, AND WAS ONLY 6 MONTHS OLD.
STARTED MY TRUCK TODAY AND WITHIN A MINUTE OF DRIVING IT OUT MY DRIVEWAY I SMELLED SOMETHING BURNING AND SAW SMOKE. THE ELECTRICAL WIRING HARNESS UNDER THE FRONT DRIVERS SEAT WAS ON FIRE. HAD TO PUT THE FIRE OUT WITH A BOTTLE OF WATER. CALLING MY LOCAL RAM DEALERSHIP IN THE MORNING TO HAVE IT TOWED THERE.*DT*JB
HOOD VIBRATING & SHAKING @ HIGHWAY SPEEDS STOPPED TO CHECK LATCH . THE HOOD WAS LATCHED PROPERLY .
I PURCHASED A 2019 RAM 2500 TRUCK, AND BEGAN HAVING ISSUE WITH THE TRUCK DROPPING INTO NEUTRAL AT JUST OVER 1000 MILES. I WENT TO THE DEALER AND THEY CHECKED CODES, BUT I DIDN'T MAKE SURE THEY DOCUMENTED IT. IT SEEMED TO ONLY HAPPEN WHEN GOING IN REVERSE AND TURNING, SO I CONTINUED TO DRIVE IT. THEN AT 6670 MILES IT HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING AND IN AN INTERSECTION. I HAD COME TO A STOP AT A LIGHT, THEN WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN I PROCEEDED TO TURN RIGHT. I GOT ABOUT 10 FEET INTO THE TURN AND THE TRUCK ACTED LIKE IT WENT INTO NEUTRAL. I WAS ABLE TO COAST TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND THE MESSAGE THAT WAS ON THE DASH STATED SHIFT INTO PARK, THEN INTO DESIRED GEAR. I DID AND WAS ABLE TO DRIVE OFF THE ROAD AND INTO A PARKING SPOT OF A NEARBY BUSINESS. I BROUGHT THE TRUCK IN AND THEY OPENED A STAR CASE. EVENTUALLY THEY CHANGED THE TRANSMISSION VALVE BODY AND REPROGRAMMED SEVERAL THINGS. THEY TOLD ME THE PROBLEM WAS SOLVED. AT 9059 MILES IT HAPPENED AGAIN. THIS TIME I WAS BACKING INTO A DRIVEWAY SO I WAS ABLE TO PULL OUT MY PHONE AND TAKE A VIDEO OF THE FLASHING LIGHT OVER THE SHIFTER AND IN THE CLUSTER. THE FIRST INCIDENT HAPPENED ON 1/13/2020 WITH 1520 MILES ON VEHICLE. THE INCIDENT IN THE INTERSECTION HAPPENED ON 5/21/2020 WITH 6670 MILES ON THE ODOMETER. THE LAST INCIDENT HAPPENED ON 7/7/2020 WITH 9059 MILES ON THE ODOMETER.
I RECEIVED A "IMPORTANT SAFETY RECALL" (DRAG LINK) NOTICE (W49/NHTSA 20E-043) IN THE MAIL. I SCHEDULED FOR REPAIR 8/6/20. PER THE DEALERSHIP THERE ARE NO RECALLS ON THIS VEHICLE. NOW I'M A LITTLE CONCERNED ABOUT WHAT TO DO. I HAVE A 2018 RAM 3500 THAT HAD THIS SAME RECALL AND WAS REPAIRED BY WELDING A NUT ON THE DRAG LINK. I'M NOTIFYING MY INSURANCE UNDERWRITER JUST IN CASE AN ACCIDENT RELATED TO THIS OCCURS. WHAT AM I TO DO NOW ???, I'M NOT FEELING VERY SAFE FOR ME AND MY FAMILY AT THIS POINT. CAN I ASK RAM FOR A REFUND AND TO TAKE THIS TRUCK BACK OR AM I TO BE UNDER THE MENTAL STRESS OF WHEN IS THIS GOING TO CAUSE ME TO HAVE A WRECK AND MAYBE LOOSE MEMBERS OF MY FAMILY AND OR MY LIFE AND GOD FORBID SOME OTHER PERSONS LIFE. WHAT AM I TO DO ???. HELP ME PLEASE. THANK YOU

NHTSA publishes every complaint as the owner wrote it and investigates only a fraction. Spelling, capitalisation and judgement are the filer’s own. What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
