While driving at all speeds I lose my power steering. It appears it comes and goes while driving which is very dangerous. I did research and found that an open investigation is going on for 2015 Ram models that were built between January and September of 2015. Mine was built in June of 2015 but does not have an active recall. The cause of this is potentailly contaminated electric power steering unit circuit boards. I called Ram hot line and they said that my truck was not affected even though it falls within the date of mfg range and it is doing the exact same thing others described.

My 2015 ram steering locks up, can't turn the wheel, highly unsafe. There is a recall for 2015 Ram's that were manufactured from jan-sept. Mine was manufactured in June. A recall for the same issue I'm having, but for some reason my vin isn't attached to that recall. This is highly unsafe, it is clearly a manufacture defect. And rams helpline is completely unhelpful.

My truck is experiencing the “hemi tick”. Upon research, this tick is a common defect in RAM trucks that was supposed to be fixed in later models. Not true. Not only do I need to pay thousands for replacing the manifold, it will be a problem again. The hot/cold engine melds the aluminum and steel, creating a warped or split manifold. To replace it is immense labor, hence costly fees, as the bolts are too small to adequately remove and snap. If drilling out, metal could get into other parts of the engine causing severe damage. I bought this used at $30,000 miles (approx). Per my mechanic, the manifold has already been altered once. They claim it’s a safety concern, which includes “loss of power … especially at highway speeds. This is in addition to the repair costa and loss of value. The earliest appointment is a month away. Yes, it could be inspected upon request. It has been inspected by Arbos and G&D auto repair. Both whom are unable to remove the bolts and referred me to a dealership. I have an appointment with Hights Chrysler in Madison, Maine on Nov. 30th. The quotes I have received range from $500 to $2,000. The ‘warning’ is the ticking sound during idle.

While driving on the highway between Nenana and Fairbanks, AK, on August 9, 2023, I attempted to pass a slow moving RV towing a trailer. While in the passing lane, I accelerated and my vehicle suddenly loss power. I was forced to swerve out of the passing lane to avoid a collision with with oncoming traffic and the vehicle being passed. After that event, the vehicle would not exceed 3000rpms or 35mph up hills. Immediately after the event, the service engine light came on and the dash showed engine error codes. I took the vehicle to the dealer (Gene's Chrysler in Fairbanks Alaska). After inspection, they indicate that the magnetic surface of the engine tone wheel was delaminating and this initiated the sensor to cause a "limp mode" (mode that limits vehicle's speed). After that event, the vehicle also had trouble starting as though it was not receiving sufficient fuel. The dealer indicated that my vehicle's vin was not covered under the recall even though the problem matched NHTSA campaign number: 23V411. Stellantis’ own number for this recall is 66A. This recall is an expansion of recall 20V475. I feel that my vehicle needs to be added to this recall. Without my vehicle covered under this recall, my family is incurring the costs of a rental car until the new part arrives. The vehicle was dropped off at the dealer on August 23. The part is delayed and expected on October 15 (nearly a two month wait because of a vehicle defect that effects safety). The dealer indicated my vehic

I was driving my vehicle when suddenly I lost all control of power steering. The light came on and thank goodness I made it home safely as this was quite dangerous. I am EXTREMELY upset and annoyed that this has happened. When I research online it shows that there was a recall for my model year but only ~400 affected trucks. I do not feel this is accurate as I have experienced the same exact thing. After taking it to a Ram Company they have informed me it is a power steering issue and it has now been there over a week with the part continuously being pushed back as it is on back order. If the part is on back order I assume there is an influx of people also having this issue. I now am without a vehicle for who knows now as it is not safe to drive with no power steering and illegal to do so in all 50 states. Please contact me with further questions. Thank you

5.7L Hemi MDS lifter failure on a vehicle that has less than 96K miles. this is regarding the MDS system lifter and the cam shaft lobe slowly getting wore away until something fails. still available for inspection, i have not attempted to rebuild that cylinderhead bank yet. camshaft/lifter/valve failure at highway speeds could make the vehicle stall and potentially lose control if engine fully seizes or creates drag to the drive terrain. Dealership claims that the "tick" which is horrifically loud inside the passenger cabin on startup and less loud once the oil warms up. is "normal" for these trucks. I am planning on having a 3rd party mechanic give a second opinion before paying to have the engine rebuilt no warning lamps yet, I stopped using the vehicle after it was determined that the tick was indicative of engine failure on most Stellaris 5.7L hemis (challenger, ram 1500, etc.)

My truck has had an open recall for some time. The dealership (Coon Rapids Chrylser, Coon Rapids, MN) is putting me and my 4 children at risk by not diligently repairing my vehicles and ordering parts properly. I had service appointment scheduled to correct the recall. They only let you schedule the appointment when they receive the parts in stock. They confirmed they had the parts and I was contacted to schedule the repair. When I showed up the day of service, they said they only had one of the parts to replace and had to order another part so I had to reschedule. I rescheduled two days later and I confirmed at that time they had the new parts in stock. My service appointment was again today and I called to confirm they have the parts. They stated that they do not have the parts and they are 10 days away and my appointment needs to be rescheduled again. They keep delaying for some reason and their delay continues to put me at risk.

The dealership near my house has told me that this is a major problem that they see all the time and the remedy that they suggested was removing the air suspension and replacing with a aftermarket air suspension delete kit or replacing the entire system which the front air spring and shock assembly each cost $1,800 the rear air spring costs $1,400 and the pump is almost $3,000 the lines all together add up to about $1,000 and the labor to have this done is another two to $3,000 Plus refilling the system with nitrogen the dealership said even doing all of this it might last 2 years it might last 6 months. I did buy this vehicle used and was unaware of the issues that this vehicle has had with this system when I purchased the vehicle I have now found that this is an extremely common problem that the manufacturer has ignored I'm lucky that I am a skilled and experienced driver and am able to handle these issues but if my wife had to deal with this it could have resulted in a major accident crash or her death. The vehicle has experienced multiple Turbo underboost code causing the vehicle to be put into limp mode without any explanation, Rhyme or Reason. The vehicle once this code is tripped places the vehicle into limp mode at which time virtually all power is lost this is now happened three different times with no explanation completely randomly the last time was when pulling a trailer uphill resulting in a near crash experience and being stranded on the side of the highway I had to force reset the computer by cycling the ignition to get the code to go away there was no problems prior to this code popping up or after. When this occurs it can be extremely dangerous when at highway speeds considering that the vehicle goes into limp mode and you're no longer able to go more than 10 miles an hour let alone if you're pulling a trailer it's virtually impossible to move the vehicle and if you're going uphill on a two-lane Highway with fully loaded 18 wheelers behind you at 65 mph and you all of a sudden come to a crawl you can see how this poses a major risk for injury or accident
