What owners reported
Newest filingsFRONT SPROCKET NUT REQUIRES TIGHENING EVERY 2,500 MILES PER POLARIS/VICTORY. THIS IS UNECCESSARY PERIODIC MAINTENANCE THAT SHOULD BE ADDRESSED BY AN ENGINEERING REDESIGN OF THE 5TH GEAR OUTPUT SHAFT FOR REVERSE THREADING (LEFT HAND THREADS) TO ALLOW FOR CONTINUAL TIGHTENING OF FRONT SPROCKET NUT DUE TO RIGHT HAND ROTATION INERTIA. THE PRIMARY ISSUE WITH THE TRANSMISSION IS DIFFICULTY SHIFTING FROM 2ND-TO-NEUTRAL-TO 1ST GEAR ONCE THE MOTORCYCLE IS BROUGHT TO A FULL STOP AT A LIGHT OR INTERSECTION. DRIVER IS FORCED TO PARTIALLY RELEASE THE CLUTCH TO FORCE THE SHIFTING.
WHEN CHANGING FROM 4 TO 2- WHEEL DRIVE THE STEERING LINKAGE LOCKED, CAUSING A MAJOR COLLISION AND INJURIES. *AK *ML

Reading this record
No unusual pattern of severe incidents in the complaint record.
Complaint counts track how many cars were sold and how long they have been on the road as much as they track quality. A common model from 2013 has had a decade to accumulate reports; a rare one from last year has not. The signal worth weighing is in the severity columns, in whether the same component keeps appearing, and in whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
Most recent recall on file: none. Source: NHTSA Office of Defects Investigation.
