Defect. VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: MOTOR HOMES. THE ELECTRICAL CONDUIT WAS NOT WRAPPED WITH A HEAT SHIELD ALLOWING THE CONDUIT TO GET TOO HOT AND SAG.

Risk. IF THE CONDUIT SAGS, IT GETS TOO CLOSE TO THE EXHAUST AND WILL OVERHEAT THE COPPER WIRING INSIDE AND BURN, INCREASING THE RISK OF A FIRE.

Remedy. OVERLAND HAS GONE OUT OF BUSINESS. DEALERS WERE TO WRAP THE CONDUIT WITH HEAT DEFLECTOR MATERIAL, ADD 2 CLAMP RINGS, AND A MOUNTING CLAMP TO REATTACH THE CONDUIT UP TOWARD THE FRAME.

WHILE DRIVING FRONT TIRE BLEW OUT WITHOUT WARNING, CAUSING SEVERE DAMAGE TO THE FRONT END. *AK THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED TIRE BLOWOUTS ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS. THE TIRES CAUSED CONSIDERABLE DAMAGE THE MOTORHOME LEFT REAR WHEEL WELL. THE CONSUMER LOOKED AT THE STEEL ON SIDEWALLS AND IT APPEARED THAT THEY WERE RUSTED. AFTER THE SECOND TIRE FAILURE THE CONSUMER REPLACED ALL THE MICHELIN TIRES. THE GENERATOR FELL OFF THE MOTORHOME DUE TO FAULTY GENSET. *TS *NLM
