Defect. VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: MOTOR HOMES. THE ELECTRICAL CONDUIT WAS NOT WRAPPED WITH A HEAT SHIELD ALLOWING THE CONDUIT TO GET TOO HOT AND SAG.

Risk. IF THE CONDUIT SAGS, IT GETS TOO CLOSE TO THE EXHAUST AND WILL OVERHEAT THE COPPER WIRING INSIDE AND BURN, INCREASING THE RISK OF A FIRE.

Remedy. OVERLAND HAS GONE OUT OF BUSINESS. DEALERS WERE TO WRAP THE CONDUIT WITH HEAT DEFLECTOR MATERIAL, ADD 2 CLAMP RINGS, AND A MOUNTING CLAMP TO REATTACH THE CONDUIT UP TOWARD THE FRAME.

WHILE DRIVING ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS TIRES BLEW OUT. MICHELIN TIRES WERE MADE TO HOLD THE CAPACITY OF A MOTOR HOME, AND SHOULD NOT HAVE BLOWN OUT. THE MOTOR HOME WAS NOT OVERLOADED, AND HAD THE PROPER TIRE PRESSURE. *AK THE TIRES FAILED WITH AN EXPLOSIVE FORCE AND CAUSED EXTENSIVE DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE. MICHELIN REFUSED TO ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY. (THE NEWMAR CORP. RECALLED THESE TIRES DUE TO THE DEFECT) THE TIRES BLEW ON BOTH THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE. *SC
