2015 Nissan Versa Note

Defect. Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain model year 2012-2015 Nissan Versa sedan vehicles manufactured June 9, 2011, to March 11, 2015, and 2014-2015 Nissan Versa Note vehicles manufactured April 23, 2013, to March 11, 2015. The affected vehicles have a center console trim panel that may catch the driver's shoe and delay the transition from the accelerator pedal to the brake pedal.

Risk. A delay in the application of the brake pedal would lengthen the distance needed to stop the vehicle and increase the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will modify the console trim panel, free of charge. The recall began on September 14, 2015. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-647-7261.

Defect. Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain model year 2015 Nissan Rogue vehicles manufactured June 9, 2015, to June 10, 2015, and 2015 Nissan Sentra and Versa Note vehicles manufactured June 5, 2015, to June 13, 2015. In the affected vehicles, the driver side front and rear doors may not fully latch. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 206, "Door Locks and Door Retention Components."

Risk. A door that does not fully latch may result in the door opening while the car is moving. The distraction may increase the risk of a crash and/or a vehicle occupant may fall out of the vehicle if they are not wearing a seatbelt, increasing their risk of injury.

Remedy. Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the date, lot number, and cavity code on the left front and rear door latches, and replace them, as necessary, free of charge. The recall began on August 31, 2015. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-647-7261.

The bolts that hold the mount to the trannsmission on keep coming out dropping the tranny breaking my axle 3 times now. It's a 2015 Nissan versa note what suggestions do you have. Because I'm pretty sure the trannsmission shouldn't fall out of any car. No matter the year.

The contact's brother rented a 2015 Nissan Versa Note through Turo. The contact stated that while her brother was driving at approximately 15 MPH in a tunnel, the transmission was slipping, the brake pedal was depressed to the floorboard, and the vehicle unexpectedly rolled backwards while on an incline. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The renter contacted the company, which stated that it was normal for the engine light to be illuminated. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was unknown. The VIN was not available.

Only have 81000 miles on my versa took to shop and did diagnose on it said I need a new transmission I don’t even drive that much and quoted $8000 to replace it I called a transmission shop and they told me those cars are known to have bad transmission Nissan needs to step up and admit the transmission or faulty

When driving the electric power steering began to malfunction in short periods of driving, making it very hard to drive safely. Until a few weeks later the whole unit stopped working and the power steering light came on. This made it hard to steer in high and low speeds. This put my car and others at risk in lane changing and during turns because of the seizing steering. Imagine if a person jumps out in front of the car and the brakes weren’t a viable option, I would not be able to swerve out of the way. Or run off the road. Our auto mechanic recommended we report it to NHTSA because the car can lose control due to the steering seizing. The mechanic said the car is not old enough for it to be failing and should be recalled due to safety. Research on the internet shows these cars with low miles are all having the same issue.

The contact owns a 2015 Nissan Versa Note. The contact stated that upon entering the vehicle after a rainstorm, the contact became aware that the vehicle was flooded on the passenger side from water that had poured in the vehicle upon opening the door. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who determined that the cowl panel drain was clogged. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure reoccurred two more times. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 76,000.

While I’m driving the car it starts swaying or jerking to the right sometimes to the left. Mostly when I press the gas to go faster. It’s very scary and I’m afraid it will run me in a ditch or into another vehicle.

Transmission locked up and almost got me hit my 2015 Versa note only has 67000 miles on it I’ve only had it 4 months and it’s not covered by warranty and even though I’m glad my kids were not in the car I’m not happy with the fact that the transmission issue is known but still being sold if I knew this was a possibility I would not have bought it

These cars have known issues with the CVT transmissions. Our car has 42k miles and is in need of a complete transmission replacement that Nissan refuses to cover. Our son was put in a dangerous situation driving in the way when the car began sputtering and losing power.

Steering wheel assembly cracked and also the left side of the steering wheel piece broke. Very expensive to fix and wasn’t offered a car to use. Order for this assembly is on back order!!!! Nissan said the crack could only be if it was blunt force to it which would consist of 300 lbs. So it’s a Nissan failure but no recalls on it which is sad.

The contact owned 2015 Nissan Versa. The contact stated while the vehicle was parked it experienced a fire. The contact encountered the vehicle had blackened windows. The contact opened the car doors and grey smoke came out. The fire department was not called, the fire had burned itself out. The dash and gear shift lever were melted. The contact had the vehicle towed to an impound lot. The vehicle was declared a total loss. The contact was advised that the fire appeared to have started in wires behind the radio in the dash. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 122,000.

Fuel gage is inaccurate and fuel keeps dropping fast. After a week of this check engine came on after checking fuel pump, it was determined the pump was brand new and had no issues. A recall was done on the fuel line last year had it check at Nissan dealership and service rep stated the line was fine and advised the rep that didn't explain when the fuel gage is inaccurate or the fuel dropping fast if the fuel line and my fuel pump are fine. They never rechecked it...now engine light is on and code is reading P0193 which that indicates a fuel sensory circuit which the dealership should have realized if they actually checked everything regarding the fuel issue last year. This should be addressed and nissan should render the repair of this fuel issue I have been having from the start and I believe last year Nissan just checked the fuel line and called it a day and didn't fully address the fuel issue I'm having with this vehicle overall.

The contact owns a 2015 Nissan Versa Note. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle inadvertently decelerated and was jerking. The vehicle was taken to the dealer however, the dealer could not duplicate the failure. The vehicle was then taken to an independent mechanic and diagnosed with transmission failure. The mechanic replaced the transmission; however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 80,102. The VIN was unavailable.

My VERSA has been shutting off, shuddering and leaping while driving for over a year. It would always start after stopping and I could go on my way. Today the engine stopped and I was able to restart, but when I put it in gear the engine stopped. I did this several time and every time the engine would stop. I had it towed to my mechanic and he told me my transmission is going out. I looked for a recall notice and did not find one. I did find several class action law suites for this same issue and Nissan has settled all of them. There is another company in town that has 21 Versa's and all of his are having this same issue and must be replaced. It costs over $5,000 to fix and is very unsafe. The issue I had today was stop and go traffic on the freeway.

Transmission failure at 88,000. No prior issue. Rpm went from 2 to 3, a jerk then Just stopped moving. Brought to shop. Needs a new cvt transmission. Can't be looked at because I am buying a new car tomorrow and trading this one. I was on the interstate when this suddenly happened

I was driving in stop abs ho traffic and the car cut off out if no where. The car jerks when you drive it and stalls. It seems like it requires a lot of work to accelerate and the rpm fluctuates between 2&3 when keeping a steady pace. The care bucks while you are driving. I just bought this car so these issues are alarming to me. It also looks as if the airbag on the top left might be exposed.

Transmission: When lowering the speed for a speed reduction or full stop the there is a tremor seconds before a full stop. The electrical system is good. No light flickers and when starting starts good. But certain inclines, upwards, with a 3 passengers or little weight the strength power of acceleration the vehicle moves slower. It takes up to 10 seconds for a "grip" of power for torque to accelerate. I was told 2016, from the Nissan Dealer where I purchased the vehicle that it compressed air for such acceleration. I live in the flat area in Puerto Rico. The cities and secondary roads have their incline and their hills but yesterday going on a "On Ramp" to catch the highway the power of take-off had more acceleration than movement and this vehicle has less than 40000 (39565). It has its regular oil change but during the years I never received a warning about this nor from Nissan or from the dealer.

The vehicle’s cooling fan assembly. The air conditioning system began to malfunction by distributing hot air instead of cold air. After a few days - after driving - I parked at a restaurant and while sitting in my car we noticed smoke coming from the hood. Vehicle has less than 75,000 miles on it - six year old vehicle and well maintained. Car was towed to dealership- unable to drive it. Two (2) days later same thing happens to my daughter’s car. While driving- smoke comes from the hood. Her car was towed to the same dealership- where they were both purchased. Her car had less than 19,000 miles - four-year old vehicle and well maintained. Both vehicles. Same problem. Low mileage on vehicle.

I was in my car sleeping with the ignition off when I woke up there was flames on the driver side of the hood. You can see where the fire started on the ground wire by the battery circuit box. My safety was at risk because I could have not been able to make it out of my car if didn't wake up in time and could have been severely injured or even dead.

This vehicle has a CVT transmission. My transmission went bad and the vehicle only has 85,000 miles on it. This is a danger and a hazard to drive vehicles with these transmissions. On one occasion I had to stop suddenly and the transmission delayed and jerked the car almost causing me to wreck. Another time I had to accelerate quickly but again it delayed and almost caused me to get hit by another vehicle. I have a 3 year old little boy. We could've been hurt. These transmissions are dangerous. This is not okay.

I WENT TO BOB MOORE NISSAN IN NORMAN OKLAHOMA FOR SERVICING MY 2015 NISSAN VERSA NOTE. THEY TOLD ME THAT NY AIRBAGS HAD STOPPED WORKING. I'VE NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT IN THIS CAR AND THE AIRBAGS HAVE NEVER BEEN DEPLOYED. THEY TRIED TO CHARGE ME $3600 TO FIX MY AIRBAGS, BUT I FOUND OUT THAT OTHER NISSAN AIRBAGS HAD BEEN RECALLED.

ACCELERATES BY ITSELF WITHOUT PRESSING GAS AFTER HITTING THE BRAKE

DIAGNOSED THAT THE EVAPORATOR CORE AND EXPANSION VALVE NEEDS REPAIR. MECHANIC STATED THIS IS NOT DUE TO WEAR AND TEAR. IT IS A MANUFACTURER PROBLEM IN THE WAY THE CAR WAS MADE.

WHEN ACCELERATING THE CAR SHUTS OFF. WHEN PULLING INTO A PARKING LOT THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF. WHEN PULLING IN DRIVEWAY, UP A SLIGHT HILL, THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF. THE CAR SHUT OFF THREE TIMES ON 7/13/2020 ON MY 2015 NISSAN VERSA NOTE.

CAR FLOORS--RIGHT, LEFT, FRONT AND REAR WERE MYSTERIOUSLY FLOODED WITH A SUBSTANTIAL AMOUNT OF WATER. VEHICLE HAD BEEN PARKED IN FLAT DRIVEWAY, ALL WINDOWS SHUT, AND UPON DRIVING A COUPLE BLOCKS FROM HOME AND PULLING TO A STOP SIGN ON A DOWNWARD SLOPING STREET, WATER RUSHED FORWARD ON THE FLOOR OF THE CAR. CAR WAS LAST DRIVEN 2 WEEKS PRIOR TO GET INSPECTED AND SUBSEQUENTLY THERE HAD BEEN A FEW DAYS WITH HEAVY RAINS. WHERE THE WATER CAME IN I DON'T KNOW. USED SHOP-VAC TO SUCK OUT TONS OF WATER BUT MOISTURE STILL REMAINS ON FLOORS WHEN PRESSED WITH PAPER TOWELS. ALSO, DIFFERENT LIGHTS WERE LIT ON DASH WHEN I PUT THE AIR ON WHILE PARKED TO HELP DRY OUT CARPET--THE ABS AND THE CAR SKIDDING LIGHTS. MAKES ME SUSPECT ELECTRICAL SYSTEM WAS AFFECTED BY WATER ALSO. WILL CALL MECHANIC AND INSURANCE COMPANY FIRST THING TOMORROW (MONDAY).

THE FUEL GAUGE IS INACCURATE ONCE BELOW 3/8THS OF A TANK. THIS COULD LEAD TO A STALL ON THE FREEWAY OR IN A DANGEROUS AREA LEADING TO AN ACCIDENT. THE PROBLEM LEAVES INSUFFICIENT TIME TO GET TO THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD. OUR PARTICULAR INCIDENT HAD THE METER AT 3/8THS AND THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE CAR WAS SHUT OFF AND, WHEN TURNED BACK ON, THE GAUGE WAS SHOWING EMPTY. IN ADDITION TO THE PROBLEM OF A STALL CAUSING A POTENTIAL ACCIDENT, THE FUEL PUMP USES GASOLINE TO COOL AND LUBRICATE IT, LEADING TO POTENTIAL LONG-TERM PROBLEMS WITH THE FUEL SYSTEM AS IT WAS RUN UNTIL EMPTY. NISSAN HAS HAD HISTORICAL PROBLEMS WITH FUEL GAUGES AND THIS IS IN LINE WITH SIMILAR COMPLAINTS THROUGHOUT THE YEARS. *TR

2015 NISSAN VERSA NOTE HESITANT WHEN TAKING OFF. TROUBLE SWITCHING GEARS. LATE SHIFT TIME. BEEN MULTIPLE TIMES WHEN TURNING OUT OF A NEIGHBORHOOD OR AT A LIGHT THAT MY CAR WOULD HESITATE AND I'VE ALMOST BEEN HIT. I'M GUESSING IT'S THE TRANSMISSION. MOST OF MY DRIVING IS IN TOWN. THE TRANSMISSIONS ARE FAULTY. MY ORIGINAL ONE BROKE AT AROUND 60K MILES AS I BOUGHT THE CAR AT 50K MILES USED. THEN THE REFURBISHED ONE THAT WAS SENT TO REPLACE IT HAD SHRAPNEL INSIDE OF IT. THE THIRD ONE WAS PUT IN MY VEHICLE AS A BRAND NEW TRANSMISSION AND BROKE WITHIN A MONTH, THE BELT THAT IS SUBMERGED IN FLUID WAS BURNED UP. THEN THE FOURTH ONE WAS PUT IN AND WITHIN A YEAR I AM NOW GETTING THIS REPLACED AGAIN DUE TO THE SAME ISSUE AND THIS ONE WAS STRAIGHT FROM NISSAN BRAND NEW. ON TO TRANSMISSION NUMBER 5.....

SHIFT LOCK BUTTON IS ENGAGING EVERY TIME I SHUT CAR OFF. NEED TO REMOVE SHIFT LOCK PLATE AND MANUALLY DISENGAGE TO SHIFT CAR OUT OF PARK EVERY TIME I START CAR. CAR IS PARKED AND STATIONARY.

DRIVING ON A VERY BUSY ROAD I WAS GOING 65MPH ON CURSE CONTROL ALREADY SLOWER THAN THE OTHER VEHICLES DO TO MY CAR ACTING WEIRD AND OUT OF NOWHERE MY CAR DROPS TO 40 MPH AND I ALMOST GOT HIT BY ANOTHER VEHICLE I PULL OFF AND GET TO THE CLOSES PART STORE TO HAVE MY CAR HOOKED UP TO PIN POINT WHAT WAS GOING ON AND IT TURNS OUT TO BE MY TRANSMISSION WHICH IRRITATES ME BECAUSE THERE'S NO WAY TO GET TO THE TRANSMISSION TO CHECK THE AMOUNT OF FLUID OR ANYTHING I HAVE ASKED MECHANIC TO LOOK AT IT WHILE MY OIL IS BEING CHANGED AND EVERY TIME THEY TELL ME THEY CAN'T MAINTENANCE IT

WHILE PRESSING DOWN THE PEDAL TO ENGAGE THE CAR TO PICK UP SPEED THE CAR PEDAL WAS STUCK TO THE FLOOR. WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY 183 HEADING NORTH, I HAD TO CALL 911 TO GET ASSISTANCE FROM THE OPERATOR TO SAFELY SLOW THE VEHICLE. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THE CAR ACCELERATED TO AN UNSAFE SPEED WHILE TRYING TO DRIVE HOME. THE CAR PEDAL WAS STUCK TO THE FLOOR BOARD. THE CAR WAS PLACED IN THE NEUTRAL POSITION UNTIL I WAS ABLE TO PULL ON THE MEDIAN AND TURN THE CAR COMPLETELY OFF. WHEN THE SHERIFF OFFICE ARRIVED AND LOOKED AT THE CAR THEY WERE ABLE HELP ME LOOSE THE PEDAL FROM THE FLOOR.

THE AIRBAG LIGHT WILL NOT GO OFF. CODE: B00A0. ATTEMPTED TO RESET THE AIRBAG LIGHT AND IT DID NOT HELP. CHECKED THE CONNECTION TO THE OCSM. UNPLUGGED IT AND PLUGGED IT BAG IN. AIRBAG LIGHT IS STILL CONTINUOUSLY BLINKING. IT BLINKS WHEN THERE IS A PASSENGER AND WHEN THERE ISN'T A PASSENGER. THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING ISSUE.

PURCHASED THE CAR IN AUGUST 2019 AT 125,000 MILES. BY OCTOBER 2019, THE CVT TRANSMISSION WENT OUT AND WILL COST $4,400 TO REPLACE BY NISSAN. MY 18YO NIECE WAS DRIVING WHEN THE CAR FAILED TO ACCELERATE AND IT COULD'VE BEEN DETRIMENTAL OR FATAL FOR HER. I LOOKED IT UP AND FOUND THERE'S AN OPEN CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AGAINST NISSAN FOR KNOWINGLY INSTALLING DEFECTIVE TRANSMISSIONS IN THEIR VERSAS. HOW COULD THEY DO THIS? ARE THEY WAITING TO SEE HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE KILLED OR INJURED WHILE DRIVING DEFECTIVE CARS? IT'S NOT RIGHT. THE WORST THING IS THAT NISSAN'S RESPONSE TO THE SUIT IS EXTENDING THE WARRANTY TO 84,000 MILES, WHICH DOESN'T HELP ME AND MANY OTHERS IN THE SAME SITUATION, INSTEAD OF RECALLING AND FIXING THE ISSUE, WHICH IS WHAT SHOULD BE DONE! WHY PUNISH PEOPLE FOR MILEAGE WHEN THE TRANSMISSION WAS DESTINED TO FAIL FROM THE BEGINNING? THIS CAR IS ONLY 4 YEARS OLD. IT'S RIDICULOUS AND WRONG.

TRANSMISSION WENT OUT AT 70012 MILES.

I WAS GOING ON TO THE HIGHWAY AND I WAS TRYING TO GO FAST TO MOVE IN TO ON GOING TRAFFIC AND MY CAR WOULDN'T MOVE FASTER AND STARTED MAKING THIS WEIRD SOUND LIKE A CHUGGING NOISE ALONG WITH A SCRAPE SOUND EVERY TIME I PUT MY FOOT ON THE GAS

THE DRIVERS SIDE INNER TIE ROD CAME OUT OF THE OUTER TIE ROD CAUSING THE WHEEL TO SEPARATE FROM THE LINKAGE. THIS HAPPENED WHILE I WAS DRIVING LOCALLY AROUND 30 MPH ON A STRAIGHTROAD. THE CAR HAS 45,000 MILES. THE PASSENGER SIDE IS PERFECTLY FINE AND SAFE. MY VEHICLE WAS SERVICED LAST YEAR. THERE IS NO REASON FOR THE TIE ROD TO FAIL LIKE THAT.

WHEN DRIVING ON I-65 SOUTH IN COLUMBIA, TN, THE VEHICLE LOST POWER AND WOULD NOT GO ABOVE 60 MPH WITH THE RPM REVVING TO 5. THIS HAPPENED SUDDENLY AND WITHOUT WARNING AND ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. THANKFULLY THE VEHICLE BEHIND ME WAS ABLE TO MOVE OVER TO THE OTHER LANE.

DRIVING ON HIGHWAY, HOT DAY TEMP ON DASH READ 98 DEGREES. ALL ELECTRONICS SHUT DOWN, A/C SHUT DOWN. POWER STEERING SHUT DOWN AND WAS BARELY ABLE TO STEER CAR TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. 3RD TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED AND DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING CAR ESPECIALLY NOW THAT I'M PREGNANT.

BASE S MODEL. LEVEL GROUND. STATIONARY. STEERING WHEEL NOT LOCKED. KEY TAKES A FEW TRIES TO TURN THE IGNITION, LIKE IT'S THE WRONG KEY. WD40 DOESN'T HELP. FEELS LIKE THE LOCK'S PINS ARE WORN.
