The car even after reprogramming ICC/ ADAS radar is still having similar problems over again. The car when driving on an open road suddenly stops and stalls with a malfunction sign and a crash signal in the middle of highway. The car then does not starts and the above message prevents the RPM from increasing. It drives at idle speed with no acceleration. The car fixes back itself some times and restarts driving fine and after few miles, again in the middle of road, same incident happened when it stalled again and same malfunction message appeared. There is an open investigation by NHSTA currently about this incident as reported in majority of 2017 Nissan Rogue. It is a huge safety concern with increased risk of injury or death to self, passengers, and others. Nissan is not taking accountability for this.

As we are on our way driving to work, there was weird sounds coming out of the engine, we had no check engine lights turn on an advance to give us a warning. After those weird noises , we pressed on the gas the car would not move, that’s when the engine light came on and the car turned off, there was smoke coming out of the front it smelt like something was burning, we moved out of the car fast. We tried turning the car back on but it would not turn on.

To whom it may concern, My 2017 Nissan Rogue's CVT transmission went out. I was driving home on March 11, 2022 and I turned right safely into an intersection when the oncoming traffic had a green light and my vehicle stopped accelerating. We could have been hit by incoming traffic because of this. It was not until this happened that I found out that there was a class action lawsuit against Nissan due to this CVT problem. My vehicle was not displaying any warning signs, it just stopped accelerating. Nissan failed to notify their consumers about the ongoing issue with the CVT transmission on their vehicles to have the vehicle inspected prior to warranty being expired. I am a single mother, full time employee, and full time student. I purchased this vehicle in hopes of it being reliable. Instead, this malfunction, I was almost hit by incoming traffic because of the lack of communication with their consumers. Letting consumers know this late is ridiculous, considering most of the affected models are close to the end of their 5-year warranty period. I demand an answer from Nissan, I will not accept that they are not doing anything to help me cover the costs which have been estimated to be closer to $10,000 by a Nissan certified service department. Nissan failed to communicate this problem, my daughter and I's safety was compromised when driving this vehicle, what if this would have occurred while we were driving on the highway. I could have been hurt and so would my daughter. I co

Was driving down the interstate going 80 mph. All of a sudden the car starting stopping. It wouldn't accelerate but the engine was still revving. Was able to get it pulled to the side of the road. It calmed down, then got back on the road. That was the second time, the first time happen in town while going about 30 mph. At that time I didn't think much about it. Due to it completely stopping it could have caused us to have a crash. I took it to the dealership the next day and they told me there were no recalls for my vin, that only thing they could do was schedule an appointment to have it looked over. Only warning we got was when it happened, the dash flashed and it went to a stop. Nothing before hand.

2017 Nissan Rogue has 118k miles and never had a lick of problem, till this morning when the CVT failed. The dealership to where I purchased the used Rogue, stated that the transmission is the stated problem when plugged to the computer system. No specifics and now the cost to repair is $4,900.00. From what I have read, Nissan is aware of the CVT issues, so why not provide a recall to fix or mitigate the damage to the customers. Why hasn't Nissan addressed this issue instead of sweeping it under the carpet.

The contact owns a 2017 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while driving at 60 MPH, the vehicle had unintendedly accelerated and then inadvertently decelerated. The vehicle was taken to three independent mechanics and diagnosed with mass air flow sensor failure. The mass air flow sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was then taken to the dealer. The dealer performed an oil change, a brake fluid change, and cleaned the throttle body. The dealer informed the contact to add a fuel injector cleaner to the vehicle twice a year. However, the failure recurred. The contact took the vehicle to Cherry Hill Nissan (2325 NJ-38, Cherry Hill, NJ 08002) and had another oil change and windshield wiper replacement. Cherry Hill Nissan informed the contact that the failure was related to a towel the contact had placed near the driver's side floor mat, which jammed the accelerator pedal. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that there was no recall associated with the VIN. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.

The trunk lift gate opens then closes. The safety feature in which it will open if it is close to coming into contact with an object does not work. Sometimes the malfunction is delayed and if an individual is reaching into the trunk , it will come down on their head and possibly close them between the liftgate and the trunk. The trunk was inspected by a Nissan service parts place and they said it coded for needing new spindles which is a $1300 part that is on national back order without an eta. This presents safety issue because it can cause head injury and possible body injury if a smaller sized individual gets closed between the liftgate and the trunk.

On 3 December at approximately 1100 hours I was driving the 2017 Nissan Rogue to Clarkesville TN. The Rogue stalled again on the highway, all dash lights were out, no power. I was stuck in the middle of the right hand lane on the highway. Traffic was lined up behind me and couldn’t get around me. I waited a few minutes and the Rogue started back up. I immediately drove the 2017 Nissan Rogue back to the dealer on 3 December and left the Rogue with them for repair/diagnosis. I told them I was not driving the car until they repaired it. I also told them the car was a safety hazard and to continue to drive it would be a hazard and may cause injury or death. On 6 December, Watermark Nissan called me and said they could not find the problem with my Nissan Rogue and that I needed to come get the vehicle, which they did not repair.

I was driving 5mph at a drive through Xmas light display. While slowly driving through the display, the vehicle suddenly lunged forward followed by the emergency braking system engaging. Which brought the car to a sudden stop in front of the cars following behind us. I turned the car off then back on. Several lights on the dash remained on after restarting the car. I took it into the Nissan dealership in Rockwall, TX. They told me the ABS control module failed and needed to be replaced. Based on what I was doing at the time of the incident, this sudden failure could have resulted in a potential accident. The dealership also told me this is a know issue on other Nissan's and has been known to cause the vehicles to catch on fire.

At approximately 68,000 miles and in April 2021, my 2017 Nissan Rogue SL began exhibiting a lag in acceleration from a complete stop. Upon pressing the accelerator, there would be a 3-4 second delay before the engine and rpms would engage and the car would simply crawl forward in that time. I felt the need to try pumping the gas pedal to try to get it to go but that didn't help. After several seconds, it would accelerate and the rpms would go up normally. After doing this three to four times after complete stops, the car goes into "limp home mode," in which it will not shift gears or accelerate above 45 mph. Stopping and turning off the engine, waiting 45-90 seconds, and then restarting almost always resets the car so that it will perform normally again for a little while. But it always recurs, especially if I spend any time idling, such as at a traffic light or in a school pickup line. This is very dangerous, as I am not able to count on my car to get me through traffic when turning onto a road or crossing a road at intersections. I fear being unable to get out of the way of oncoming traffic with that delay in accleration. The Nissan dealership mechanics have looked at the car for this problem twice and have been unable to resolve the issue at this time. They say it could have something to do with the electrical harness, which is costly to repair and the car is no longer under warranty. The mechanics have been unable to recreate the problem, though it happens frequently in d

I drive a 2017 Nissan Rogue that has just under 65K miles on it as of today. Without a prior indication of a problem from the car's warning system, I suddenly began losing transmission power and experiencing significant engine hesitation while driving yesterday, August 23, 2021. Specifically, the car would hesitate at least 3 seconds and sometimes as long as 8 seconds before engaging, thus putting me in great danger in traffic and on public roads. Additionally, the engine would begin revving up from 1 to 4+ rpms while simply trying to maintain a speed of 40 mph. This caused me to constantly have to remove my foot entirely from the accelerator, further putting me in harm's way while in traffic on both residential and highway roads. I lost control of my vehicle. I immediately proceeded home as carefully as I could manage, stored the vehicle overnight in the garage, and took it to the dealership first thing in the morning. To my great surprise and disappointment, the Nissan adviser informed me that the diagnostic codes received were P0776 and P1715, both of which were addressed in previous Nissan Service Bulletins in both 2018 and 2021. Furthermore, these codes indicate specific issues with the CVT - something that has plagued Nissan for years and continues to be the center of many lawsuits and causes for extended warranty programs. In fact, I experienced CVT transmission failure in a 2015 Nissan Rogue that I owned previous to this one. My sister also experienced the same safety

The dealer told us that was "just how hybrids drive". It has since been inspected by an EV certified mechanic and the jolting was actually due to a failing transmission. The sunroof of the 2017 Nissan Rouge has drains that are very inadequate and in my opinion defective. My 2017 Nissan Rouge had white mold growing in the carpet of the floor board before I discovered the floor board was wet under the mats (which were mostly dry.) There was no warning or instructions that the sunroof drains had to be cleaned periodically. This mold growing under the mats is a clear health hazard in the air inside of this car. It goes undetected for some time because the leak is insidious and not under any sort of recall. I have had cars with sunroofs for years and never experienced any sort of leak problem like this

NHTSA publishes every complaint as the owner wrote it and investigates only a fraction. Spelling, capitalisation and judgement are the filer’s own. What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
