Recall

September 2026 recalls: 67 campaigns, 1.92 million vehicles, and most of them Stellantis

Ten campaigns account for 1.76 million of the vehicles recalled last month. Five of the ten come from one company, and three still have no finished repair.

Manufacturers filed 67 vehicle recall campaigns with NHTSA dated September 2026, covering 1,922,295 vehicles (the count includes RVs, trailers and commercial vehicles). Chrysler's parent FCA US, part of Stellantis, filed eight of them, and those eight cover 1,150,754 vehicles: six in every ten recalled last month.

What stands out

Repairs that do not exist yet. The Grand Cherokee springs, the ProMaster steering and the Wagoneer roof racks all went out with interim letters: owners are warned now and told a fix will follow. For the ProMaster even the warning letter is not due until 17 November.

The ProMaster was visible in the complaints first. Owners of 2022–2026 ProMasters have filed 53 steering complaints with NHTSA, 40 of them this year. By contrast, the F-150 fuel-tank recall arrived with almost nothing in the complaint file: one complaint in 727 on those trucks mentions the tank.

Software is now a recall category of its own. Four of the ten are software faults: the Ram 1500 camera and the Rivian camera overlay are fixed over the air, the Jeep tire-pressure and VW Tiguan body-control faults at a dealer.

Unit counts are the manufacturer's estimate of vehicles potentially affected, as filed. NHTSA adds late filings to its file for weeks afterwards, so the month's totals can still grow.

Recalls are tied to the VIN, not the model: two identical trucks can differ. Run yours through the VIN lookup or nhtsa.gov/recalls. Every repair is free at a franchised dealer.
