Defect. Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC (MBUSA) is recalling certain 2023-2024 EQB 250+, 2022-2024 EQB 300 4MATIC, and EQB 350 4MATIC vehicles. The high voltage battery may fail internally and lead to a vehicle fire while parked or driving.

Risk. A vehicle fire while parked or driving can increase the risk of injury.

Remedy. Owners are advised to park outside and away from structures until the recall repair is complete. Also, owners are advised to only charge their vehicles to a maximum of 80% battery capacity until the remedy has been completed. Dealers will replace the high voltage battery, free of charge. Interim letters, notifying owners of the safety risk, were mailed March 13, 2026. Additional letters will be sent once the final remedy is available. This recall replaces recalls 25V050 and 25V894. Vehicles previously repaired under recall 25V050 or 25V894 will need to have the new remedy completed. Owners may contact MBUSA customer service at 1-800-367-6372. Risk. A loss of drive power increases the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Owners are advised to park outside until the recall repair is complete. Dealers will inspect and replace the high-voltage battery as necessary, free of charge. This will be a phased campaign, with the remedy becoming available in different phases based on model and model years. Owner notification letters were mailed January 9, 2026. Defect. Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC (MBUSA) is recalling certain 2022 EQB 300 and EQB 350 vehicles. The welded spur gear within the front axle electric drivetrain may not have been welded properly. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 114, "Theft Protection."

Risk. An improperly welded spur gear can fail and result in a vehicle rollaway, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Dealers will replace the front axle electric drivetrain, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on August 9, 2024. Owners may contact MBUSA at 1-800-367-6372. MBUSA's number for this recall is 2024060007.

Defect. Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC (MBUSA) is recalling one 2022 EQB 350 vehicle. Incorrect child seat anchor covers may have been installed on the second-row seat. As such, this vehicle fails to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 225, "Child Restraint Anchorage Systems."

Risk. Incorrect child seat anchor covers may result in a child restraint system being installed incorrectly, increasing the risk of injury.

My 2022 Mercedes-Benz EQB 350 4MATIC (VIN [XXX]) is subject to NHTSA Recall 26V073 / MBUSA campaign 2026020004 for a high-voltage battery defect that may cause a thermal event/fire while parked or driving. Mercedes-Benz has determined that the permanent remedy requires replacement of the high-voltage battery, but MBUSA has confirmed that a replacement battery is not currently available for my VIN and has provided no firm repair date. Pending repair, Mercedes instructs owners to limit charging to 80% and park outside rather than in a garage or enclosed structure. These restrictions materially impair normal use. My wife's work requires frequent travel between [XXX] and [XXX], plus secure indoor garage parking at federal government facilities. The 80% charge restriction reduces usable range, while the required indoor parking conflicts with Mercedes' safety guidance. MBUSA has also confirmed in writing that my VIN is currently subject to a recall-related stop-sale and that sale restrictions remain until the recall remedy becomes available. An authorized Mercedes dealer has declined to provide a normal trade valuation because of the recall/stop-sale situation. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, the vehicle failed to start for approximately five minutes. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the battery was at 80 percent and then fell to 50 percent extremely quickly. While charging the battery, the battery failed to fully charge. The message "Vehicle not Ready to Drive" was displayed in a red rectangle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure. The contact was advised that the battery should not be charged above 80 percent, as stated in the recall. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 81,304.

PRIORITY COMPLAINT: MANUFACTURER RECALL OBSTRUCTION & COERCIVE SAFETY WAIVER INDUCEMENT. My vehicle is actively subject to NHTSA Campaign 26V073 for a severe high-voltage battery defect causing an immediate fire hazard while parked or operating. Because the manufacturer has no immediate remedy available, I filed an administrative buyback request due to the extreme danger of driving the car. Mercedes-Benz USA (MBUSA) has formally blocked my safety relief by deceptively citing irrelevant Florida Lemon Laws, despite the vehicle being legally purchased in Maryland and registered/operated continuously in Virginia. Furthermore, MBUSA is actively attempting to obstruct the safety intent of this NHTSA recall by trying to bribe me with a $5,500 cash payment in exchange for signing a mandatory "Waiver of Rights" liability release. This release legally bars me from pursuing future recall remedies or lawsuits if the battery catches fire. MBUSA has explicitly stated in writing that if I refuse to sign this total liability waiver, they will offer zero further assistance, effectively forcing me to continue operating a known, catastrophic fire hazard on public roads. I request that NHTSA’s Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) launch an immediate inquiry into MBUSA for utilizing deceptive out-of-state legal tactics and coercive monetary waivers to suppress safety claims and minimize their financial exposure to Campaign 26V073.

The vehicle is subject to Safety Recall 26V073 (High-Voltage Battery Fire Risk). Since March 2023, at 6,177 miles, the vehicle has experienced recurring powertrain and battery malfunctions. Despite 11 total service visits and 8 specific attempts to repair the battery management system and powertrain modules, the defect remains unresolved. The vehicle currently displays sudden red dashboard warnings stating "Engine will not restart" and "Malfunction" while driving at highway speeds and on sideroads. These incidents cause a sudden loss of confidence in the vehicle's propulsion and power. According to the manufacturer’s recall chronology, these warnings indicate a potential internal battery short circuit, which could lead to a thermal event/fire. Safety is compromised as the vehicle may stall in high-speed traffic, and the manufacturer has directed that the vehicle be parked outside and away from structures due to fire risk. The manufacturer has admitted that previous software "remedies" were failed attempts and that a hardware remedy (battery replacement) is unavailable for at least 9 months (December 2026) . This leaves the driver (owner) in a dangerous, non-conforming vehicle for an unreasonable duration. All malfunctions have been confirmed by authorized dealership service centers (Invoices #685069 and #687727 are attached as references).

My vehicle will not hold a charge. Since buying this car. I have been doing a lot of charging instead of driving. With normal charging, it takes approximately the whole day (24 hours) to have the vehicle charge over 80% and after that, the charge will not hold for a long time. This happens every time.

The car would not start. When I tried to start the car, it said that the charging cable was engaged. The charging cable was not in fact engaged. Even the phone app for the car indicates that the cable is not engaged. There is no way to reset the vehicle or to turn it off and back on. The identical issue occurred in January. We had it towed to the dealer on the weekend. When we returned to get personal items out of the vehicle (1-2 days later, but before the dealer had worked on it) the vehicle started fine and I drove it home. The problem has now recurred.
