2024 Mercedes-Benz E 450

Defect. Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC (MBUSA) is recalling certain 2024 E 350 4MATIC, E 450 4MATIC All-Terrain, and E 450 4MATIC vehicles. The 12-Volt and 48-Volt ground connections for the electrical wiring harness may not be secured properly, resulting in the ground connections overheating.

Risk. Overheated ground connections can increase the risk of a fire.

Remedy. Dealers will inspect and repair the 12-Volt and 48-Volt ground connections as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 7, 2025. Owners may contact MBUSA customer service at 1-800-367-6372.

Defect. Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC (MBUSA) is recalling certain 2024 CLE 300 Convertible, CLE 300 Coupe, CLE 450 Convertible, CLE 450 Coupe, E 350, E 450 Station Wagon, E 450, and AMG CLE 53 Coupe vehicles. A software error in the MBUX multimedia system may deactivate certain vehicle systems, including the cross-traffic alert that applies the brakes automatically in certain driving situations.

Risk. An automatic emergency braking system that does not function as intended can increase the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Dealers will update the MBUX multimedia system software and parking control unit settings, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed November 1, 2024. This is a phased recall, phase 1 owner letters will be mailed November 12, 2024, November 1, 2024, and January 14, 2025. Owners may contact MBUSA customer service at 1-800-367-6372.

Defect. Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC (MBUSA) is recalling certain 2024 E350 4Matic, E450 4Matic All-Terrain, and E450 4Matic vehicles. The transmission wiring harness may be routed too close to the driveshaft, which can result in wiring harness damage and cause a loss of drive power.

Risk. A loss of drive power can increase the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Dealers will check the transmission wiring harness routing and correct it, if necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 17, 2024. Owners may contact MBUSA customer service at 1-800-367-6372. MBUSA's number for this recall is 2024040007.

Defect. Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC (MBUSA) is recalling certain 2023-2024 C300, AMG C43, S580e, S580, Maybach S580, Maybach S680, AMG SL43, AMGSL63, GLC300, EQE350, EQE500, EQS450, EQS580, AMG EQS, 2023 S500, AMG SL55, AMG EQE, 2024 E350, E450, AMG C63e S, CLE300 Coupe, CLE450 Coupe, and GLC300 Coupe vehicles. The 80-Amp fuses may have been manufactured incorrectly, which can cause the fuses to fail.

Risk. An 80-Amp fuse that fails can result in a sudden loss of drive power or a loss of critical safety functions such as the restraint systems or instrument cluster, increasing the risk of a crash or injury. Additionally, there could be an increased risk of a fire.

Remedy. Dealers will replace the main fuse boxes, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 5, 2024. Owners may contact MBUSA customer service at 1-800-367-6372. MBUSA's number for this recall is 2024030008.

On Thursday September 12, 2024, I took my vehicle into the Mercedes Benz of Novi dealership located at 39500 Grand River Avenue in Novi, Michigan to have them diagnose and repair the passenger seat due to the seat bouncing, vibrating and rattling while driving the vehicle. Technicians from dealership took the car out and they noted the passenger seat bounced and vibrated as they were driving the vehicle out for the test drive. Technicians from the dealer stated "there cannot be anything done for the vehicle and to call the manufacturer's Customer Care number." While standing in at the service desk at the dealership, I called the Customer Care number (1-800-367-6372) and documented this issue, and the dealer's response, under Case #[XXX]. The Customer Care representative heard the technicians response and included it in case number noted above (see attached) On Monday, September 16th, the dealership contacted me and advised me to bring the vehicle back in to diagnose the same issue. The vehicle was taken back in on Tuesday September 17th. Upon picking up the vehicle on Tuesday September 17th, I was told that all the vehicles of this particular year, make and model has the same problem and that there is nothing they can do about it. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who determined that a software update was required. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, who then diagnosed a failure with the power steering control module (PSCM). The vehicle was repaired, but the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was then taken back to the dealer, who replaced the steering wheel. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure reoccurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was 50.
