Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC (MBUSA) is recalling certain 2013 C250, C250 Coupe, C350 Coupe 4Matic, C300 4Matic, C350, C350 Coupe, C63 AMG, C63 Coupe, E350 Cabrio, E350 Coupe, E550 Cabrio, E350 Coupe 4Matic, E550 Coupe, GLK350 4Matic, GLK250 Bluetec 4Matic, GLK350, SLS Coupe, SLS AMG GT Coupe, and SLS Roadster vehicles sold, or ever registered, in the states of Alabama, California, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Louisiana, Mississippi, South Carolina, Texas, Puerto Rico, American Samoa, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands (Saipan), and the U.S. Virgin Islands or "Zone A." Additionally, MBUSA is recalling certain 2010 C300, C300 4Matic, C63 AMG, E350 Coupe, E550 Coupe, GLK350, and GLK350 4Matic vehicles ever registered in the states of Arizona, Arkansas, Delaware, District of Columbia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Maryland, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia or "Zone B." MBUSA is also recalling certain 2009 C300, C300 4Matic, C63 AMG, and C350 vehicles ever registered in the states of AK, CO, CT, ID, IA, ME, MA, MI, MN, MO, NH, NY, ND, OR, RI, SD, UT, VT, WA, WI and WY or "Zone C." In the event of a crash necessitating deployment of the passenger frontal air bag, these passenger air bag inflator may explode due to propellant degradation occurring after long-term exposure to absolute humidity and temperature cycling.

Risk. An inflator explosion may result in sharp metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants resulting in serious injury or death.

Remedy. MBUSA will notify owners, and dealers will replace the passenger frontal air bag module, free of charge. Mercedes issued an interim notification to owners on February 23, 2018. A second notice will be mailed when remedy parts are available. Owners may contact MBUSA customer service at 1-877-496-3691.

Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC (MBUSA) is recalling certain 2016 AMG GT-S, GLC300, CLA250 and GLE300d 4Matic vehicles, 2013 C250, E350 BlueTec and G63 AMG vehicles, 2008-2014 C300 vehicles, 2013-2014 C300 4Matic and ML350 4Matic vehicles, 2009 C350 vehicles, 2014 CLS550, E350 4Matic, E350 Coupe 4Matic, E350 Wagon 4Matic, GLK350 and SL550 vehicles, 2012 CLS550 4Matic vehicles, 2012-2016 E350 vehicles, 2016-2017 GL450 4Matic vehicles, 2012-2014 ML350 4Matic BlueTec vehicles, 2015 S550, S550 4Matic and C300 4Matic Sedan vehicles, 2015-2016 C300 Sedan vehicles, and 2017 SL63 AMG vehicles. Various control units on these vehicles may have been updated with incorrect software, potentially affecting the correct deployment of the air bags in the event of a crash.

Risk. If the air bags do not deploy as intended in the event of a crash, there would be an increased risk of injury in the event of a crash.

Remedy. MBUSA will notify owners, and dealers will update software in the affected control units, free of charge. The recall began April 21, 2017. Owners may contact MBUSA customer service at 1-800-367-6372.

Upon deployment of the driver's frontal air bag, excessive internal pressure may cause the inflator to rupture.

Risk. In the event of a crash necessitating deployment of the driver's frontal air bag, the inflator could rupture with metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants resulting in serious injury or death.

Remedy. MBUSA will their notify owners, and Fiat Chrysler will notify the affected Chrysler owners. Dealers for the respective brands will replace the driver's frontal air bag module, free of charge. Defect. Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC. (MBUSA) is recalling certain model year 2008-2009 C300 Sedan, C300 4Matic, C63 AMG, and C350 vehicles, and 2010 GLK350 and GLK350 4Matic vehicles. Due to a manufacturing error, the air bag control unit may corrode and cause the control unit to malfunction.

Risk. The malfunctioning air bag control unit may cause the air bags to unexpectedly deploy increasing the risk of injury and the possibility of a vehicle crash. Alternatively, the air bag control unit malfunction may cause the air bags to not deploy in the event of a crash necessitating air bag deployment, increasing the risk of occupant injury.

Remedy. MBUSA will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the air bag control unit and replace it, as necessary, free of charge. Mercedes-Benz issued an interim notification to owners on December 23, 2015. The recall began on March 14, 2016. Owners may contact MBUSA customer service at 1-800-367-6372.

Defect. Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC (Mercedes) is recalling certain model year 2008-2011 C300, C300 4Matic, C350, and C63 AMG vehicles manufactured January 26, 2007, through July 13, 2011. In the affected vehicles, a poor electrical ground connection may result in the dimming or failure of the tail lights.

Risk. Dimming or failure of the tail lights reduces the ability to warn other motorists of the driver's intentions of stopping or turning, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Mercedes will notify owners, and dealers will replace the bulb holders if not previously updated and replace any corroded connectors, free of charge. The recall began on August, 18, 2014. Owners may contact Mercedes at 1-800-367-6372.

Vehicle has lost its ability to be driven. Car alarm has gone of a multitude of times at different hours of day and night. Finally we were told that the steering column needs to be replaced. According to tow truck driver, Auto lock person, this is common from the 300 series of Mercedes Benz. Obviously very costly. My car is worthless at this point. I believe that the Mercedes Benz should have a recall on the steering column lock. Obviously, this is not only a defect but, also causing safety issues with it just turning off and not able to restart.

Rear brake lines corroded leading to loss of brake fluid while on the road. My at the time 4 year old son and I were in the car (I was the driver). This was in December of 2022 so almost two years ago. Earlier that year, MB dealership warned me about rear sub frame being corroded, too, but the cost of repairs ($7,000) were out of reach. There were no warning signs the day brake line started leaking other than a dashboard message to check the brake fluid and I felt I could not really stop my car. Car was taken to a local shop and the rear brake lines were repaired for $1,158. on 12/12/2022. Then this spring 2024 rear sub frame fell apart while switching my winter wheels to all year wheels/tires. MB USA honored this repair through the extended warranty.

Total shutdown of complete system…brakes, steering and engine at around 25-to 30 MPH. No warning. Happened two times…once before M-B service and once after service for problem. It checked out OK from dealership months before only to have it happen again. Was lucky to avoid a crash both times. Sold to dealership. Wrote my safety concerns for a new owner to local dealership and corporate.

REAR SUBFRAME RUSTED THROUGH ON BOTH SIDES AND BROKE WHILE DRIVING ABOUT A YEAR AGO. NEARLY LOST CONTROL OF THE CAR. THERE WAS 55,000 MILES ON THE CAR AT THE TIME. ALSO, I HAVE ANOTHER VEHICLE SAME W204 CAR SERIES 120,000 MILES ON THIS CAR. VIN [XXX]. LAST WEEK THE REAR SUBFRAME BROKE ON THAT CAR WHILE DRIVING. CAME VERY CLOSE TO HAVING SERIOUS WRECK ON I77. MERCEDES REPLACED AND PAID FOR THE FIRST VEHICLES SUBFRAME. I PAID FOR THE LABOR. THEY ARE GIVING ME 30% OFF THE REPAIR OF THE ONE NOW IN THE DEALERS SHOP. I HAVE BEEN TOLD BY A MERCEDES SERVICE MANAGER THAT THIS IS A PREVALENT PROBLEM AROUND THE COUNTRY AND THAT MERCEDES KNOWS THEY HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE SUBFRAME ON THIS MODEL. I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS ON THE WEB AND FOUND MANY OTHERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. I WOULD NOT BE SURPRISED IF SOMEONE HAS DIED FROM THIS PART FAILURE. I HAVE CONTINUED TO HAVE LIGHTING ISSUES WITH FRONT, REAR, AND SIGNAL LIGHTING. I AM CONSTANTLY HAVING TO PAY TO REPLACE THESE LIGHTS EVERY YEAR. NOW MY POWER STEERING MALFUNCTION EBS LIGHT HAS COME ON. THIS IS JUST TOO MUCH. I JUST PAID $1300 FOR SERVICE B AND SOME OTHER THINGS THAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. I AM TIRED OF ALWAYS HAVING TO PAY TO REPLACE LIGHTS.

HI, ON MY COMMUTE HOME FROM WORK, I WAS GETTING READY TO EXIT THE HIGHWAY BY DECELERATING. MY CAR SWERVED AND ALMOST LOST CONTROL WHEN I BEGAN TO PRESS THE BRAKES. THERE WERE NO CARS AT 7AM ON THE WEEKEND, SO I WAS ABLE TO COAST TO THE LIGHT AT THE END OF THE 1/4 MILE EXIT RAMP. I CONTINUE HOME, BUT FEEL THE CAR KICKING OUT THE REAR END WHEN I BRAKE. AT SIGNIFICANTLY LOWER SPEEDS I LOOK IN THE MIRROR AS I BRAKE AND NOTICE MY REAR RIGHT WHEEL TURNING INWARDS. I GET HOME AND WHEN I WAKE UP I LIFTED THE CAR AND CHECKED TO SEE WHAT IT WAS. THE SAFETY ISSUE IS THAT THE REAR BRACKET WELDED TO THE CROSS MEMBER THAT HOLDS THE REAR TIE ROD CRAKED.

WHEN I PUT THE KEY IN THE IGNITION IT WILL NOT TURN OVER NO LIGHTS DISPLAY ON THE DASHBOARD. THE RADIO CUTS ON AND THE ONLY THING THAT DISPLAYS ON THE DASHBOARD IS THE MILEAGE NO OTHER LIGHTS. WHEN THE KEY IS TURNED TO FIRST OR SECOND POSITION. THE DAY BEFORE WHEN MY CAR WOULD NOT START I WAS ABLE TO TAKE THE KEY OUT OF THE IGNITION AND REPLACE IT IN THE CAR STARTED RIGHT UP THIS TIME IT DOES NOTHING. I'M BEING TOLD IT'S AN ESL STEERING WHEEL LOCK ISSUE THAT IS COMMON TO THIS CAR MODEL.

HAVE ASKED EACH TIME ABOUT THE RECALL AND REPLACEMENT OF THE TAKATA AIRBAGS. WE GET THE SAME ANSWER EVERY TIME-' AS SOON AS WE GET THE REPLACEMENT WE WILL CALL YOU IN TO REPLACE. TAKATA RECALL AIRBAG STILL NOT REPLACED

I HAVE BEEN RECEIVING RECALL LETTERS FROM MERCEDES-BENZ SINCE MAY 2016 FOR THE DRIVER-SIDE TAKATA AIR BAG AND IN AUGUST 2016 FOR THE PASSENGER TAKATA AIR BAG AS WELL AS MAIL FROM TK HOLDINGS INC, BUT HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO GET MY AIR BAGS REPLACED. I WAS TOLD I WAS IN A LATTER PHASE AND WOULD HEAR SOMETHING BY MARCH 2018, BUT HAVE HEARD NOTHING. THIS IS VERY FRUSTRATING. I HAVE LESS THAN 45,000 MILES ON MY CAR, MEANING LOTS OF LIFE LEFT IN THE VEHICLE, BUT CAN'T DRIVE THE CAR DUE TO THE RISK OF HARM AND FATALITY. I DO NOT WANT TO SELL MY VEHICLE. I JUST WANT TO GET MY AIR BAGS REPLACED, PLEASE!

I HAVE CONTACTED THE DEALERS SEVERAL TIMES AND THE PARTS FOR REPAIR ARE NOT AVAILABLE FROM THE MANUFACTURER. I AM CONCERNED ABOUT THE CAR'S SAFETY AND LACK OF INFORMATION AVAILABLE ON WHEN THE PARTS WILL BE AVAILABLE.

"TAKATA RECALL" THERE ARE TWO RECALLS ON THE FRONT AIRBAGS ONE ISSUES IN FEBRUARY 11, 2016 AND THE OTHER MAY 25, 2016. I'VE TAKEN MY CAR IN SEVERAL TIMES FOR SERVICE AND INQUIRED ABOUT THE RECALL. IT DRAINS THE BATTERY WHICH HAVE REPLACED TWICE. WE DETERMINED THAT IF WE KEEP THE LIGHT SWITCH IN AUTOMATIC POSITION IT DOES NOT HAPPEN.
