This started out intermittently after hitting a bump in the road, but now the vehicle shakes uncontrollably at 50 mph and above. The vehicle feels like it is falling apart. I need to put my hazzards on and move slowly to the side of the road and come to a stop to get the shaking to stop. I have several videos of the condition, but they are too large to upload (11MB and 33MB). I am taking my vehicle to the dealership in hopes they can fix this. There is an open class action lawsuit with Jeep over a similar issue. I also have already had the steering stabilizer recall performed.
2018 Jeep Wrangler complaints
Owner reports filed with NHTSA about this vehicle, newest first and reproduced as filed. They are unverified accounts: one proves nothing, and a pattern across many is the thing worth reading. Back to the full 2018 record →
In cold weather the Jeep is very hard to steer at highway speeds. While driving at highway speeds below 40 F and coming around a curve the steering feels like its locked up (will not turn). It has to be forced to get over the locked up spot (hump). This happens a few times until the engine and system warms up, then works fine. This seems to be a well known issue on the Jeep JL Wrangler forums.
Passenger seat came unlocked from track and moved freely back and forth in track to stops. when passenger exited vehicle seat back folded forward and would not fold back upright making the seat unusable. the drivers' seat has same mechanical operation as the passenger seat. if this same problem were to occur with the drivers seat this would lead to possible loss of control and or accident. this seat system has weak plastic parts that have been known to fail for some time now without being addressed by the manufacturer.
Vehicle violently shakes after hitting a bump or other imperfection on the freeway.
The Jeep was being driven to a dealership to get checked for recalls due to the engine stuttering and stalling, radio and navigation not working, and just not running right. All of the sudden the engine ‘blew up’ and it stopped running. The Jeep was rolled to the side of the road and oil was seen leaking out of a hole in the underside of the engine. Pics were taken. It was towed to a dealership. No inspection has been performed yet to determine what the cause of the catastrophic failure is.
I purchased my 2018 Jeep wrangler and has less than 13k miles. I been having alot of front shaking (death wobble) since purchasing the vehicle. I have heard of complaints about the front end shaking violently and have had this problem a few times. Especialy at highway speeds if I hit a pothole as such. I can get it to stop if i am able to slow down and apply light brake pressure. I have checked all the steering for tight ess and even had the track bar replaced (as per other owners). But still have the problem occasionally. As for alignment, the jeep runs really well and straight without problems. I hear theres possible problems with the aluminum steeringg box (which I do have) vs. the steel steering box (I hear has a recall??). Is there any other issues as this is really scarry. Other than the replacement track bar everything is stock on this vehicle. Behicle was purchased from Cascade Auto in Wenatchee Washington 22 July 2022 with 10,893 miles.
I have had repeated issues attempting to start the vehicle and it will not turn over. This usually occurs after I have driven the vehicle for at least 45 min. All lights and components turn on but the engine will not turn over, no indication that the engine is engaging. I tried starting in neutral and it does not engage. Battery is new, terminals are clean and fit properly. Vehicle is grounded. Sometimes after a half hour or more it will start. This happens at least once a week. Taken to mechanic e times and cannot get it to repeat.
This Jeep has the notorious “Death Wobble”. It has been inspected numerous times, there was a recall on a part ~May be a sway bar or a stabilizer bar etc- that did absolutely nothing to fix it. I’ve had the entire suspension replaced and it still does it constantly when driving over bumps in the road -specifically when the front right tire goes over a bump, around the 30+ mph. The entire front end of the Jeep jumps all over the road, the steering wheel shakes violently back and forth and you lose control of the vehicle. It’s terrifying when it happens, especially on the freeway. My two teenagers have both experienced this while driving and they were terrified trying to control it, had no idea what to do and almost lost control of the car because of how violently this one shakes. They both are anxious about driving the vehicle all together. I purchased this new and it started right away. Took it to the dealer and they new exactly what I was talking about but had no idea how to fix it. There is no warning, it’s just happens suddenly amen going over a bump in the road. It’s SO SCARY!
OIl Cooler failure resulting in oil spill onto the transmission and motor housing. Per discussions of JK forums and other associated websites, this is a common issue with the 3.6 penstar motors. It was recalled on the Jeep Cherokees; however, failure to recall on the JK models were not available. Furthermore, most tech are stating when changing the oil filter, over torque can cause the seal to break or housing to crack resulting in leak. On manay forums, the JK ranging in years for the oil cooler issue is higher than normal.
Going over a bridge at 55mph my vehicle went into a vigorous shaking in the front end making it uncontrollable to steer. I had to decrease speed right away to avoid going into another vehicle or the side of the bridge. Once, on the other side, I pulled over to come to a complete stop and was able to continue to my destination about 1-2 miles away at reduced speed. This is commonly known as “The Death Wobble” at the dealerships and Jeep community. It was taken in that day and returned the next day as they replaced the Steering Damper, which I’ve been told will not fix this problem. We will just have to see what happens next.
All warning lights on the dash lit up. All gauges (tach, speed, fuel) fell to zero while I was traveling at 55 mph. Engine stayed running. Power steering failed but would engage intermittently causing over steering when it caught. Found a safe place to get off the road and turned vehicle off for 1/2 hour. The vehicle ran fine afterward. Limped it to the dealer a day later and they diagnosed it as a "star connector" problem. They said they've seen it before. There's much discussion on the internet about it occurring with the 2018 Wranglers. Jeep said that the replacement connector is just the same as the one which failed so this could happen again if the connector is not improved. Loss of steering is life threatening especially when it goes on and off intermittently.
1. On numerous occasions my Jeep has suffered an electrical issue that renders the power steering, power brakes and other components in-operable. My dash goes blank, then restarts showing just about every system feature as needing serviced. The dealer has tried twice to fix it stating that a Star Connector has overheated and is the cause for the problem. This is a huge safety issue and I no longer feel I can trust it to not happen again. 2. The vehicle is impossible to drive without the power steering and brakes. The wipers stick on along with the electronic radiator fan. 3. Yes, The dealer has reproduced this and stated so on the repair invoice. Stating multiple codes in multiple modules for loss communication. 4. No, the vehicle or component has not been inspected by anyone other than the dealer. 5. No warning whatsoever! It has now happened for a fourth time and is back at the dealer.
The contact owns a 2008 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the steering wheel seized. The stability control, traction control, and ABS warning lights were illuminated, and the Service Shifter message was displayed. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who replaced the main battery and auxiliary battery, tested the starter and alternator, and inspected the wires and fuses; however, the failure recurred. The mechanic diagnosed that the ECM needed to be replaced and advised the contact to tow the vehicle to the dealer. The vehicle was awaiting a tow to the dealer. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 44,000.
The dash board lights all came on, The steering wheel lost power, the ABS light came on, with check shifter, could not control Jeep.
I purchased my 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL Sport S 4 door in May of 2021. During the summer, while riding down the road, I had my soft top convertible top back. Upon closing the top when reaching home, the cover had become detached from tent assembly. I am just wondering if this was a apart of the safety recall for 2018 Jeep Wranglers, and if it was, how can I tell if this problem that was addressed with the vehicle I own now and fixed. I have had to buy a replacement top which is being installed on 9-19-2022. The cost is $1764.22, which I will not have an invoice for until they have completed the install.
Driving down the road wipers turned on and wouldn’t go off, all warning lights started flashing, jeep started to slow down, not accelerate, wanted to stall. Radio turned up on its own. Another occurrence I stopped at a stop sign and the jeep wouldn’t go, I tried to put it in park and it wouldn’t go into park, had to turn the jeep off and back on. Safety issues!! There should be a recall on jeeps for these issues I have read so many problems like this and it is NOT SAFE
While driving over the summer in 2021 the rear seat latch came seat and seat was thrown forward. One of the kids threw it back in place and didn’t think much of it. Over the next couple of the times the seats were placed down it clasp wouldn’t go down. Then one day a couple months ago the seat was attempted to be put back in place, we noticed that the thin plastic retainer for the pin was broken. Depending how the seat is pushed back in place it locks sometimes and other times does not. This poses a potentially safety hazard. I originally purchased the part to replace it, however since this is a safety lock I reached out to Jeep. Jeep indicated there was no recalls on the part, even though I have seen others will the same complaint. There are several concerns with the latching seat mechanism and if you do not know its broken and the seat gets thrown forward it can be a real painful experience. The Jeep was in for service for the top ripping multiple times and being fixed under warranty. There is anyone that could have broken the latch without telling or knowingincluding us or the dealer. Ultimately it is a ver poor design and a true safety hazard. We believe this matter needs further investigation.
The contact owns a 2018 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the driver’s side brake caliper seized causing the vehicle to stop or pull to the left. The vehicle was taken to the local mechanic who diagnosed that the front driver’s side brake caliper was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The local dealer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that the brake calipers were on back order and unavailable for purchase. The manufacturer was also notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 80,000.
When driving in my Jeep I hear a Rotational thumping/clunking sound when Decelerating between 5-12 miles per hour. Test drives have determined it is coming from the rear axle. . I've done extensive research regarding this issue on jeep forums. I've found that this is a common issue among jeep jl owners . all have experienced sounds that sound like its coming from the front only to find out it’s coming from the rear. It is getting louder over the past 3 months (May 2022-August 2022)
Jeep JL shows various warnings about engine revs and sometimes loss of power steering while driving at all speeds. Sometimes the Jeep will not get out of park and this issue is intermittent. Have taken it to the dealership and they cannot find anything wrong. From reading forums it would appear there is a bad wiring harness that causes this but it is terrifying when it can happen randomly and then just goes away on its own like nothing happened. I have various videos of this happening while parked. This issue seems to affect many of the JLs and rubicons. It has been happening for about 3 weeks now. Jeep does not admit or see the issue and the error codes thrown would indicate literally everything is wrong with the jeep. Can provide videos of this parked but it can and does happen randomly while driving.
The sun visors regularly fall out of their sockets obstructing view of the road. It's surprising, alarming and distracting when it happens. This is a well known issue and Jeep refuses to create a recall. Many, many people with the issue reporting it here: https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/sun-visor-fix.44865/
April 2022 - Driving down US 30 in Ohio had the electronic stability control warning light come on. Took to dealership and was advised that no codes were stored therefore no work could be done on the Jeep. Next time the ESC warning came on it also gave service gear shifter, stop/start not available along with loss of traction control. Was told it was the wiring harness getting moisture and had been replaced. Drove Jeep maybe 100 miles and same codes came on with loss of power steering at a speed of 70 mph on I-75. This time Jeep was in the shop for 45 days with no luck of pinpointing the issue. Was told by the dealership to continue to drive the Jeep until the warning lights trigger more often. Had to put Jeep In the ditch due to losing power steering. Now Jeep is not wanting to turn over and when it does start not able to get the Jeep to go into ANY gear. I can not believe I traded in my husband's Hyundai in for this paperweight as I do not feel safe driving it.
The vehicle intermittently fails to shift into gear when started. This also happens intermittently while driving (when stopped the engine turns off while the brake pedal is depressed. When the engine restarts to go forward it behaves as if it is in neutral and won't engage.) Additionally, on occasion, the instrument panel fails to function while in operation. There is a blog thread on this issue as experienced by others: https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/service-shifter.24255/ ***Note, the date listed below is when we first began experiencing this issue. This is an ongoing issue which is experience 5 or more times per week. The vehicle has been in and out of the shop without resolution. The cost is out of pocket. The vehicle is currently sitting at the dealership shop considered "unsafe to operate" while we wait on a solution.
The contact owns a 2018 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated while driving 5 MPH, several unknown warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was turned off and restarted; however, the check engine warning light remained illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and diagnosed; however, the cause of the failure was not found. The contact stated that there sixty fault codes stored in the system. The contact stated that an unknown software update was performed; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to another dealer who also retrieved the fault codes but could not determine the cause of the failure. The manufacturer was contacted and notified of the failure. The manufacturer suggested that the vehicle be diagnosed. The failure mileage was 54,000.
Driving at 60 mph, the steering wheel locked up and could not turn left or right. The road had a significant curve and it forced me to merge on the lane as I couldn't steer into the curve. No service lights came on and this is a very serious safety issue. Luckily no other vehicles were near me while this occurred.
While driving at 30 mph, on occasion the vehicle would start to shake and the only resolution is to stop the vehicle, and then restart. On the freeway, I nearly lost control of the vehicle during one of these incidents. I had to stop the vehicle on the freeway and a lane change was not viable. I was nearly rear ended, so there were multiple safety issues at play. I took the vehicle to the jeeo dealer where I was informed of a 189 fee to diagnose the problem. I agreed to this fee, repeating to the service advisor mutiple times it was a safety issue and must be repaired. I was told that the steering dampener had a dent, and the steering dampener needed to be replaced every 30k miles. This is NOT listed in the maintenance schedule, nor is there any public statement from Jeep that this part can become defective as a result of early wear out. My vehicle is driven exclusively on city streets and has less than 20K miles. An internet search turns up the words “Jeeo Shake of DEATH” to describe this apparently well known problem.
2018 Jeep Wrangler JK Sport Unlimited rubber hood catch failed due to gust of wind generated by oncoming semi-truck on two lane highway (HWY 54) while being driven at highway speed. Luckily the other rubber catch and front center hood safety catch hook did not fail. Going on-line, one finds numerous complaints about this problem for some time and has been reported to you for the last couple of years. In discussion with Jeep Dealership Parts department, they said the part has not been upgraded.
I have two issues to report. First issue was while driving on interstate the dash went completely out. Had no idea my speed, fuel level, navigation....nothing. I slowed down to get off the road. Stopped and turned off engine. Turned it back on and nothing. Then it just popped on. I was able to continue on my way. Then I started having the second issue. Second issue to report. The Uconnect display monitor touch screen system is delaminating and now it changes stations, systems (navigation, weather, etc) on its own. I checked the Jeep blogs and this is a consistent problem for the past 8 years. There is an adhesive problem that Jeep/Chrysler is well aware of. To stop this flickering of stations from happening, I have to drive with one hand and take my finger on the other hand keeping it constantly pressed against SXM button . Or turn off the radio. This is a 4 1/2 yr old jeep with 68,000 miles. Jeep will not do anything except replace it at retail cost. I am not alone with this issue. There are 100's of stories on the internet blogs. This should be a recall issue to protect the consumers from extremely poor quality from a company like Chrysler. They knew this was a quality issue jet continued producing a faulty product. They should be better than this and held accountable.
While driving vehicle loss of power steering steering cause stiffness in steering wheel making it hard to control Dashboard just flickers numerous faults steering comes on and off making Unsafe to drive Dealer states can’t replicate the issues
The contact owns a 2018 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that while driving the display screen went blank. The contact stated that several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle lost power steering and was shaking. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer where it was diagnosed that the battery and sensors needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle also failed to start. The vehicle was towed back to the local dealer but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA. The failure mileage was approximately 61,000.
The contact owns a 2018 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that a relative was driving the vehicle at approximately 55 MPH and the vehicle started losing motive power. The relative noticed an abnormal burning odor before hearing a loud boom sound underneath the vehicle. The relative saw smoke and safely pulled off the highway. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact had the vehicle towed to a local dealer who diagnosed that the clutch plate had exploded through the transmission bell housing and shrapnel went through the radiator. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 46,465.
Since May of this year I have been trying to get my vehicle diagnosed and repaired. Multiple warning lights and messages go off at various times. Vehicle loses power steering and speed detection at a minimum. I have been to 3 different dealers at 5 separate times. A STAR case was opened by Fiat/Chrysler but was closed despite lack of diagnosis by dealer and concerns that the vehicle was not safe to drive. I have spent thousands of dollars and communicated multiple times to Fiat with no resolution. I have noted on various forums people complaining of similar issues. The following warnings are noted at frequent intervals; ABS needs service, shift module needs service, do not shift, do not turn off power, traction control, battery warnings and many more. Every possible warning indicator is coding. At previous dealer visit to current, the dealer advised that they could not diagnose and told me to pick up the vehicle. I advised Fiat and they supported me getting my vehicle despite concerns that it was unsafe. All documented.
Several messages display simultaneously on and off as the vehicle is in motion which results in power being lost, then restored in a matter of minutes which are critical when traveling in traffic or on the interstate. Steering and brakes are the first to go, but the car remains operational. The gauges display as if the car is stationary with check engine, brake, start stop disabled, traction control and many other lights displaying in error as these things are happening.
The driver's side sun visor falls down blocking your view while driving. It pops out of the socket meant to secure it. In researching how to fix it, I located many threads and concerns, including homemade fixes (due to costs) but many things fail causing it to fall down. One person said they were hit in the head with it. From online comments, most fail after the 3 year warranty. As mine did. Estimates online show it costs around $400 to fix. There is already limited vision in Jeep windshields, this is a major concern as the only way to fix is to hit it hard back into the socket.... while driving. I've used a hand gel container to even my hard cell case to secure it. Thank you for considering. I believe this has been an on-going issue with Jeeps with older recalls. See thread: https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/sun-visor-fix.44865/
The service axle locker system warning light started to appear, and it means the lockers are either poorly functioning, or a wiring\electronic issue has occurred. This is dangerous either way.
The power steering went out while driving, check engine light came on, ABS Service, Service Shifter, Start/Stop unavailable, Service 4wd, Auto Park Disabled, Blind Spot Alert, Electronic Stability Control Service, Parking Sense Off. I could not shift out of Park. Many people are having this problem with their 2018 Wrangler JL and JLU and later models. All you have to do is Google this or go to YouTube to see. It may be a faulty ECU. In any case, this is a problem and a safety hazard.
Rust is forming along the bottom of all of the doors (4 of them) and on or around some of the hinges. The rust seems to be forming inside of the door and what is visible from the outside looks like the paint in bulging slightly.
I had the Y03 recall done on August 30, 2021. My 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL Sahara Unlimited has 53,00 miles. On my way home from vacation, June 4, 2022, my clutch plate overheated, exploded through the bell housing and transmission, burnt the wire casing, and melted the fuel line. I had to leave my Jeep in NC and get a rental car to make it home. After being at a dealership 7 hours away from home for a week in Jacksonville, NC, I am told by the dealer that Chrysler will not honor my Powertrain warranty because the clutch is not a covered component; however, the issue that occurred with the clutch and how it occurred is exactly what both the Y03 and W12 recall said could happen. The W12 recall is still showing "incomplete in every location I've checked, including Chrysler and Mopar; however, I am being told that the simpler fix noted in the Y03 recall supersedes the W12 recall instructions - which required service techs to perform a hydraulic clutch system bleed and also perform of clutch health check procedure; whereas the Y03 skips these steps. I spoke to someone at MOPAR who told me that all components related to the recall (i.e. the clutch) have a 2-year warranty after the recall is completed, but any other components affected by the clutch failure are not covered. How can Jeep/Chrysler know there is an ongoing clutch issue specifically with the clutch plate and not honor/cover repairs that result because of it? And, how can a wire sheath and software update guarantee the pote
FIRST off the vehicle locked up with every light on. it had to be tolled. we put a new battery and it worked for awhile. took to dealership with engine light on and the stabilizer track bar light is on. They fixed the clock screen. Soon as i left the dealership both light were both back on. I drove the vehicle home and its a wonder i made it. You cannot keep it on the road . the stering is all over the place. The dealership is hopless and i spent $ 900.00 . Now what do i do.
When driving, vehicle will start throwing codes and lights, losing power steering and at times after this happens will not shift out of park. Also after this happens sometimes it will not start or shut off.
The contact owns a 2018 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated while his son was driving approximately 30 MPH and slowing down for a traffic signal, the vehicle lunged forward, stalled, and then came to an abrupt stop. The contact stated that several unknown warning lights were illuminated and the windshield wipers engaged independently. The contact's son was able to restart the vehicle and drove back to the residence. The contact had not taken the vehicle to a local dealer or independent mechanic to be diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 107,000.
My Jeep has been having electrical problems many warnings across the dash including lost communication with ABS module this has been going on for about a month sometimes the fault won’t let the Jeep go into gear I brought it to the local dealership they had it for the entire day and was told they can’t find anything and that it would actually have to be happening for them to figure it out yesterday I was driving with my kids in the Jeep and the electrical want crazy and then I lost total steering while doing 55 miles per hour After my heart went through my chest I was able to get the vehicle stopped so according to my Jeep dealer I need to be in a near death crash in order for them to figure out the problem I wonder if any unexplained deaths involving newer Jeep Wrangler could be attributed to these electrical issues
The electronic dash unit (Stereo) that controls Navigation, climate, media and all other consumer input, changes the screen without touching it. The 8.4 unit is the main point of contact for a driver with the vehicle. The navigation blinks and switches areas with no touch on the screen. The dangers of the distraction is obvious to me. If they can’t make a decent unit for their expensive vehicles, maybe they should leave it out or just stop making vehicles. It’s obvious they have zero concern for customers’ safety. This is a known issue to Jeep, Chrysler, Stellantis or whatever the carmaker-du jour is!! It’s sickening what a company can get away with in this country.
While driving at low speed in heavy rain vehicle lost power steering, engine service light, anti lock brake failure, skid control. Had to remove vehicle from roadway and restart engine, which corrected steering failure. Engine service light remained on. Vehicle is garaged. After being in garage for 24hrs engine service went out. Contacted dealer and was given appointment. Recommended not drive vehicle until service. Vehicle has 18,000 miles on it. Was told by dealer that battery failed which is tired into the crawl feature of the of the Rubicon 2.0 liter engine with crawl electric motor. Also told that there were many service bulletins.
The Uconnect screen is delaminating causing the screen to change and override all driver selections at will while driving. This is a safety risk because it is a huge distraction while driving when the system is changing settings back and forth while beeping. The problem was confirmed by my Jeep dealer and since I'm out of warranty it will be over $1,000 to replace. No, it was not inspected by any other party except the dealer. The only indication of the problem was you can visually see the separation by the appearance of a bubble in the screen.
On multiple occasions this Jeep has a tendency to wander into the adjacent lane, especially on curves. It is slow to respond to steering corrections when this happens. Any driving of the vehicle requires constant steering corrections to keep it in a straight line At highway speeds a small bump in the road causes the Jeep to wander into the next lane or to start to fishtail. I'm now scared to drive it on the highway and feel it's an accident waiting to happen.
Purchased slightly used with only 34,387 miles. When driving at a higher rate is speed (62 or more) if the vehicle hits a bump (like when crossing the threshold of a bridge or hitting a bump in the road while in a turn) the passenger side Suspension shakes uncontrollably. As per news articles, Fiat Chrysler Automotive is aware and recommends a new steering bump. This seems to be a temporary solution, part easily and quickly wears out and must be replaced. Mechanic state that is not a proper solution. To pay this type of money for a vehicle and then repair bills only to have to repeat. Major concern is when driving on a highway or freeway you can’t always safely slow down in traffic, especially with semi trucks.
The screen on my 2018 Jeep wrangler Sahara unlimited is de-laminating. It is causing issues with the touch screen and begins to do things on its own. It is a safety concern due to it being distracting while driving. I am not able to use the hands free mode.
The steering wheel is loose/has too much play. The Jeep wanders when holding the wheel straight. When driving, turning the wheel 2-3 inches in either direction produced not movement at all in my tires. This was not an issue before steering recalls were done. Unfortunately, with Covid and working from home, I did not drive a lot, and definitely not need to take it on highway. April 9th was the first time taking it on the highway for a trip (Connecticut to Kentucky). I did not make it. I was in an accident when a vehicle appeared to be to coming to close. I recall turning the wheel and not getting any response…then jerking more out of fear which was to much and I ended up smashing into a guardrail. I had to leave it in Pennsylvania at a collision center for repairs. May 26 - Can repairs complete so I picked it up in PA and drove to Louisville. A 7hr trip took 2-days. I has to drive slow, and so way could I drive it while it was raining. It was wandering and all over the highway and the steering was not responsive. June 3 -I brought it into Cross Jeep as soon as they had an opening. They rotated the tire and test drive it. I was told they did not notice anything out of the ordinary. The loose steering is how Jeeps drive. I was told to take it home and see how things were after the tire rotation. June 6 - First thing Monday I called to bring Jeep back in because it was driving the same. I left message with the answering service and I texted, but was unable to reach someone to mak
In the middle of the intersection, the power steering turned off and the steering wheel locked. I could not move the steering. All dashboard lights came on as well as the emergency brakes. The gear shift also locked and refused to shift into any toner gear. The vehicle was completely disabled and would not restart. This is the 5 time this has happened. I took it to get serviced at my local jeep Chrysler dodge dealership and I am still receiving the same issue.

NHTSA publishes every complaint as the owner wrote it and investigates only a fraction. Spelling, capitalisation and judgement are the filer’s own. What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
