The instruments, gauges, and displays will switch into a language I do not speak or understand (Italian). Coinciding with the switch to Italian language, cluster and radio display settings revert back to default settings, auto door locks and paddle shifter becomes inoperative (with no menu to enable), pedestrian emergency brake (peb) lamp or forward collision warning (fcw) lamp turns on with no way to disable, units of measurement including speed, temperature, etc. all change, and many other random settings change as well.

The last forced OTA update we received on the vehicle has been a complete disaster. The build number is [XXX]. It has lit the FCW off light on the dash despite it being selected as on in the settings. It has also disabled the paddle shifters, randomly turns the language on our display to Italian, randomly locks up the UConnect system into an Android Command prompt and causes numerous issues with the radio. The update has also caused the driver's lumbar support to randomly inflate while driving the car. I've searched on many Jeep forums and this appears to be a common issue. My dealer says there is no "recall" yet from Jeep and wants to charge hundreds of dollars to reflash the software. All reports I have found online show that reflashing the software has not worked for others. See this link in particular: [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

A small crack in windshield starting at bottom of window on passenger side. No chip or rock strike. Not used in cold weather area. Not used off road. Crack has extended upward now about twelve inches. I live in Las Legas so it does get hot but not so much this year. First noticed as small crack around [XXX], this year. The seat randomly inflated beyond capacity and actually pushed the plastic backing of the seat apart . There is no fail safe that prevented this issue from happening it kept inflating. The seat has a massive bulge in it and there are dozens of threads online that show the same issue happened with the vehicle I have. 2022 , 2023 all in common. I purchased a technology package and am waiting on weather this will be covered and its unlikely. They want me to pay $2100 for a repair and stating mileage since I am past the manufacturer warranty. Its a 3 year old vehicle and mileage has nothing to do with our the seat on its own just blowing up and breaking the seat back. I have kids in the back seat and this is bulged and is happening to many people. Unsafe and expensive and I have no recourse at this point. Pictures below describing the issue

Vehicle stalled out on major highway in 2023, 2024 and 2025. In 2023 and 2024 had vehicle towed to dealership and they could not recreate issue. Then in July 2025 vehicle stalled out and would not start again in major highway and towed again to dealership and they said it was fuel pump issue. This is what should have been detected in 2023 and 2024. I can’t trust the dealer they they will actually fix my vehicle.

When this happens, even if one is able to wade through all the settings menus and change setting back, some items cannot be reset (like the FCA off lamp). According to various Jeep owner forums, some dealers have been able to reset something and temporarily correct the issue, but they charge for this service, and the issue returns randomly again. There are over a half a dozen features, including safety features that simply aren’t working: pedestrian avoidance, automatic braking, paddle shifters, high beam headlights, memory seats moving while driving, system and screens freezing or going blank while driving, Italian randomly being selected as the language, and the units of measure being switched to metric randomly among other things. I've paid the dealership $300 for a software update a year ago and now the same exact issue has happened again.

I purchased my vehicle in Sept. 2022. Issues began Nov. 2024. At first my radio screen was glitching and at the same time my car did a software update, it reset all my settings and my AEB system was disabled and would not turn back on regardless of how many times I turned it back on. The dealer did a manuel software update, replaced my screen (I paid the $100 warranty deductible) and it fixed the problem. A month and a half later it happened again without the update and my screen again was glitching. All my settings were changed and my AEB system was disabled. Dealer did a manual reset and another month and a half it happened again. At this appointment I asked them we need to do something else. This is not working. They saw that my alternate battery was not holding power well and not fully sending power to my module which controlled my radio/navigations systems also my safety features on the car. I replaced both batteries at $820. I needed 2 modules replaced. I had the module for the radio/navigation and safety features replaced and I am still currently waiting the other module that controls WiFi connections. It has been 3 weeks since I received my new module. After one week my radio screen was glitching. They said it was a lose wire and it needed to be replaced. As well as my auto start/stop button is being replaced because they most likely broke it due to them taking apart my radio so many times. Now at 3 weeks my car again reset my settings and my AEB is disabled. I have a

June 2, 2023 power steering went out while driving, lights on dash came on, mileage on vehicle 15,869. Was out of town, stopped vehicle for about an hour, lights on dash no longer visible, power steering returned. Vehicle brought into dealership on June 22, 2023, EPS was updated. March 17, 2025 same thing happened, mileage 31,966. This time it happened when vehicle was turned on. Turned vehicle off several times, power steering returned, but engine light remained on for a day. March 19, 2023 brought vehicle into dealership and codes were cleared according to work order. It is next to impossible to turn or control vehicle when this happens. The wiper hose has disconnected twice since purchase of vehicle and has been reconnected at dealership both times.

A warning light popped up to tell me this system was disabled on my dashboard, at the same time the system switched to Italian and all of the units of measure switched to metric without warning. I took it in to the dealership and they reset everything, replaced the radio/computer, and assured me everything was working. Within a week, the same error occurred and the same issues. I took it back to the dealership and they acted like they had no idea why, but would look into it. While waiting I searched online and discovered a notice from Chrysler dated in 2024 saying this issue was occurring and dealerships should just reset the system. I also discovered a multitude of similar issues being reported by other owners of Jeep vehicles across various message boards. When I brought the "Star bulletin" to dealers attention, they admitted they were aware of the issue all along and had no idea when/if it would be fixed as it was an issue with the software in the vehicles themselves that Chrysler would need to fix. So, I was sent home with a vehicle that is not operating correctly. I have to assume the front collision and emergency braking is not working (along with quite a few other features I have discovered), and frankly I have no idea what safety features are or are not working as they could not (or would not) tell me what all was affected.

The forward collision warning turns off on it's own. Jeep did an upgrade and now the radio turns off and on by itself, changes in preference happens without warning and forward collision warning stays lit. Jeep has replaced the radio 3 times since and I've been to the dealership at least 15 times to address the issue but the issue has not been resolved. This has gone on since 2023. Jeep is aware of the issue because i read a memo addressing it at the dealership but they would not provide me a copy of it.

ABS , Traction Control, Power brake booster, AEB inoperative after routine brake pads/rotor service. Vehicle was put into service mode via touch screen radio, rear brake service performed. Upon initial brake pedal application, required to exit service mode for rear brakes, to return caliper piston contact to brake pad. The vehicle disables abs and supporting system and sets codes c0050 , c2227 . As a technician my opinion is the extra brake fluid required to take up open space after service is discharged via accumulator into the brake system with no resistance or pressure due to caliper pistons expanding to the brake pads. These faults render the power brake boost abs and multiple other safety systems inoperative until a dealer level scan tool can perform abs initialization, and a hydraulic prove out test, and clear all codes, even with all code cleared power brake boost was lack just at best on initial test drive after service. A basic routine service should not affect a vehicle as adversely as this. While dealers may know what's going on your independently run shops and DIYers may return unsafe vehicles to customers/owners. This is the 3rd vehicle I have personally experienced this with. I will up load separate reports with those vins accordingly.

The infotainment center went to error on Jeep with less than 60,000 miles. Owned from new 2 years. The infotainment center can not be accessed and it makes modifications on its own. Like choosing different language of Italian and using euro measurements. There is no way to change this. The biggest issue is that it turned off safety feature which I believe is the forward collision warning. There is no way to change safety setting with out infotainment system. It also believed to be causing battery to drain. Jeep will not assist.

The contact owned a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee L. The contact stated that upon pulling into a parking spot and depressing the brake pedal to come to a stop, the vehicle failed to respond. The vehicle rolled up the curb, went through the plate glass of a building, and stopped. There was no warning light illuminated. The air bags did not deploy. The contact exited the vehicle through the liftgate. There were no injuries sustained. The building was damaged. A police report was filed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a case was opened. The vehicle was towed to Gerber Collision & Glass(110 OR-99W, McMinnville, OR 97128), where a jeep field inspector inspected the vehicle. The manufacturer then sent a letter to the contact and informed the contact that based on the inspection, there was no evidence of brake failure and that the failure was not the manufacturer's responsibility. The vehicle was then towed and totaled by the insurance company. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V132000 (Suspension, Steering), which the contact related to the failure. The dealer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 19,210.

NHTSA publishes every complaint as the owner wrote it and investigates only a fraction. Spelling, capitalisation and judgement are the filer’s own. What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
