My vehicle has an open recall (NHTSA Recall Number24V-132) which the car manufacturer has failed to remedy. I contacted them 2 times and each time they told me that part is unavailable and will contact me when ready. The first contact was March 22, 2024 when I took the vehicle for another recall. I have yet to hear from them.

Vehicle immediately accelerated as I was attempting to pull out of the house garage. I pressed hard on the breaks to halt it. I then returned the gear knob to park (“P”) mode. I tried again to place the gear knob on drive and the vehicle started raving on high as if it was about to take off at full speed. I waited for a few minutes while it was on park “P” mode, with the engine still idling, and placed it in reverse “R” mode to return into the garage and the same thing happened in reverse mode. It jumped back in full speed when I gradually released the brakes. Engine was raving extremely high. I decided to shut it off and schedule an appointment with the dealership for a vehicle inspection. As is, not certain if it might do the same while out on the street driving it. Vehicle just had a recall inspection done on 4/20/2024. This is the first time the engine has done such.
Today was the second time the AEB engaged while I was driving with no apparent reason. The first was in Nov 2023 while driving on the interstate at about 70 mph. The AEB engaged, slamming the car to an almost stop, alarm blared for a moment and then the car continued operating with no apparent codes or warning lights. Today it did it again while traveling about 30 mph. I was slowing down to turn into a drive. I was still headed straight with no cars around and the AEB engaged, slamming the car to a full stop, with the alarm and the dash flashing something in red. The car then drove off fine with no warning lights or indicators on the dash. I cannot reproduce the AEB reponse. In response to the first occurrence, the dealer “flashed” the software last year. I intend to take it in tomorrow for the reoccurrence. I believe it to be a safety issue not only in that my back hurts terribly from the whiplash of a stop as sudden as hitting a wall, but because had there been a car behind me on either occasion, it is almost certain they would have had to make a dramatic and dangerous swerve to avoid it or rear ended me.

On [XXX], on [XXX] Express Lanes (XXX) at approximately 55mph, I drove over an uneven portion of the highway being maintained/bumpy (far left lane). My vehicle intermittently pulled to the left while I attempted to steer right. I believed the problem to be associated with my steering/wheel components. After contacting the Farrish Jeep Dealer, 9610 Fairfax Blvd, Fairfax, VA 22031, I was told a recall (XXX) related to an upper control arm pinch bolt being likely why my steering might be affected. An appointment was scheduled for [XXX]. The issue happened intermittently but inconsistently up to the appointment date. During the [XXX], the Farrish dealer indicated the issue could not be duplicated. And I was required to pick up the Jeep. I subsequently called FCA USA, LLC (1 (800) 334-9200) indicating my concern driving the vehicle with intermittent issues that could result in a crash. I also requested to maintain the Loaner car that was issued during my service with Farrish Jeep; but no response/action was issued or received due to a required management call. It is March 10th, and I have not received the call. The vehicle is not safe to drive based on my recent experience and is available for inspection. And if there is any small chance that the current recall is affected by uneven terrain or bumps at high speeds; then I it can be catastrophic for my and my child’s health. Thus, I humbly request to return this vehicle with a full return toward another purchase that is safe for my
The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving approximately 20 MPH, the rear tailgate door erroneously opened. The contact indicated that on several earlier occasions while driving, the liftgate mechanism erroneously activated but the tailgate door did not open. My car now has 2 open recalls associated with it (for a grand total of 5 overall) - and it only has 9,580 miles on it. The latest recall, 24V-132, does not have a remedy yet available. Jeep indicates the earliest they will be able to fix my car is April 8, 2024. I have told them numerous times I feel it is unsafe to drive. They are not giving me a loaner. They are not giving me a rental. I am stuck until "someone from the recall division calls" me back. Even though it's a rist of the wheels falling off, which can cause a wreck with no warning! Recall 24V-11 was enacted on 2/15/24. My defrost system doesn't work well ...
Tire pressure monitoring system failure multiple times a week. I've taken it into the service department several times and they can't seem to find a fix. Every time I get the alarm on my car, I have to get out, check all the tires to make sure I can drive safely. My sister in law has the same car and they are getting these alarms too. Jeep needs to get a fix for this asap.
Brand new car. Driven 600 miles. After shopping at Costco I get to the car and it is completely dead. Will not turn on and every single code possible popped on the screen. Luckily I wasn’t with my kids or out of town or this could’ve been a nightmare. How can this happen with a brand new car? Makes me afraid of what may happen in the future.
ON [XXX], at [XXX], i was driving the vehicle in electric Save mode, where the temperature was around -19 degree on that day and i was heading for car wash, During that time, the vehicle in front of me applied a break. i was at safe distance i applied the break as the distance was close Even the anti-breaking system did not work on hitting the vehicle at that time, and then it bumped three times. I was in shock at the vehicle's behavior and lost confidence in it. So the police office impounded the vehicle. to make the road safe. None of the air bags were deployed. I am having trouble picturing what would happen if this were on the freeway. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Fuel gauge incorrectly shows to be full (with no change in range) until about 4 gallons (~80-90 miles) has been used. After that the fuel gauge begins to register and the Range begins moving down. After several attempts to get the issue fixed, I finally had a service manager admit it is an issue with all Cherokee & Wrangler 4xe models. I then did an internet search and discovered it is a well known issue.
It is easy, when driving in automatic mode, to accidently touch one of the paddle shifters. In doing so, the automatic transmission disengages, and the transmission suddenly switches to control by the paddle shifters. If the driver is unaware of this, the vehicle can lose motive power if the gear then in effect is no longer fitting for the vehicles speed and the engine's RPM. I recently took the vehicle in for service of this issue because my wife had experienced this while driving on Interstate 95, in Maryland. The vehicle stopped responding to the accelerator, so she pulled onto the shoulder, put the vehicle in park and turned it off. When she turned it back on, it was back in automatic mode, and she was able to resume driving. The technician and service manager advised that when this occurs, the vehicle can be returned to automatic mode by pulling the right paddle forward. That information does not appear in the vehicle manual, or on the Jeep website. The technician and service manager also advised that there is no way to disable the paddles to prevent the problem from repeating, Other drivers have experienced this. See [XXX] . I believe it is a serious safety problem. To that point, there is a pending safety recall -- NHTSA 23V- 412 (copy attached) -- that addresses loss of motive power for another reason. Here is the description in the recall notice: The transmission control module and the hybrid control processor on your vehicle [1] may experience loss of communication
Vehicle completely shut off while driving down highway. Completely lost steering response and breaking response. There was absolutely no way to control the Vehicle. My daughter and I both thought we were going to crash and die. We live in Alaska and it's winter time so the road conditions aren't the best. It took about 10 to 15 seconds and everything came back on and started working again. I drove my vehicle straight to the dealership I bought it from and have demanded a buyback process. I haven't had it a year and even the hybrid heating coolant system has had to be replaced twice.
The contact rented a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, he became aware that the running taillights were not functioning. After restarting the vehicle, it returned to normal functionality, but the failure became a regular occurrence. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related it to NHTSA Campaign Number 22V544000 (Exterior Lighting), but the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was unknown.
While on the highway, the 2 piece panoramic moonroof exploded. There was a loud pop, and then the glass shattered. There was no indication of any previous issue. The sun guard screen was open to let the light in, so the glass just fell into the car. A small, but unconfirmed observation from other drivers on the highway at the time, made me think the glass also fell unto the highway as the glass exploded away from the car. The dealership I took the car to was unable to confirm this was an explosion due to a defect or something hitting the car. However, I did not witness any object flying over head that would have dropped anything and nothing was found in the car. Only the dealership has looked at the Jeep so far. My insurance has been contacted to just let them know this occurred, but no claim has been filed as of 11/3/23.
The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that the third-row driver’s and passenger’s side seat belt fasteners were not secure while using car seats. The contact stated that the car seats were not locked securely, and he was able to move the car seat 6'inches away from the seat. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 10,200.
While I was driving with my family on a highway, I deployed the drive assist function that controls the speed of the car and keeps car in lane, out of a sudden the car itself deployed a sudden quick brake without any immenant risk in fron of me ( there was no car in front of my car for at least more than half a mile) this caused a very close threat from being hit by the cars behind me amd all of my family members to be scared and worried and even my wife blamed me for slamming the brakes without any reason. I have scheduled an appointment with the dealer in the coming weeks to have it looked at and fix a recent recall as well as look into another weird noise/sounds that I was complaining to the dealer about in the past but was unable to fix or replicate
In Hybrid mode, the transition from gas to battery power is clunky. It surges forward unpredictably and takes a bit to respond when the pedal is pressed. This erratic forward surge has happened several times, including once while my child was drinking water – which spilled all over him. The brakes are hard to modulate and are never consistent. When driving in e-save there is an awful engine noise. I typically only try to drive the vehicle in electric mode, but that only lasts to a point. At higher speeds and/or further acceleration, the gas engine kicks on- loudly- and without warning. There is no consistency in when to anticipate this abrupt change in how the vehicle drives as it happens at different intervals (ranging from 0%-3% battery left). This vehicle drives erratically, and I do not trust myself or my children riding in it. On top of this, there have been at least three safety recalls on this in three months. Therefore, I do not drive this vehicle unless necessary. Thus, $60,000 is basically parked in my garage with minimal to no use. I have even recently updated my insurance to reflect that it is not in use.
I was turning at an intersection when I got rear-ended. I do not recall the car stopping right before I got hit, but there is video that shows the my jeep stopped suddenly during the intersection right before I was rear-ended. It appears the oncoming car turning the opposite way got too close causing my automatic braking system to immediately stop my car while I was driving. There is no other explanation as to why the jeep just suddenly stopped as I know I did not press on the brakes myself.
The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that after driving the vehicle for approximately one hour, there was a knocking sound coming from the front of the vehicle. A knocking sound was heard while depressing the brake pedal. The contact stated that the sound ceased after shifting to park. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The contact stated that the failure had occurred after a computer update was performed as part of a Service Campaign. No additional information was available. The failure mileage was 10,000.
Left front clunking, knocking after driving for about 30-45 mins and temperature above 70 degrees (F). this happens when driving from small or large bumps on the road. after a three hour interstate the noise was almost constant. i have three recordings while driving of the sound.

The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.
Unknown, The Jeep designed as to not be able to be put in drive with a door ajar. Twice now pulling out of parking lots, while driving the vehicle has disabled itself, put it inself in park stating a door was left open. I'm alright with a vehicle not allowing an operator to leave park while a door is open but it shouldn't be able to disable the vehicle while turning on to a busy street once moving.

After starting 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4Xe, multiple warnings displayed on dash including: service power steering, service electronic stability control, blind spot alert unavailable service required, and rear braking assist unavailable. The ignition was fully turned on and after shifting into reverse, there was no power steering which required extra effort to turn the steering wheel. The power steering was out for approximately 20 minutes. After restarting the car 20 minutes later, the power steering and blind spot alert was back. A check engine light persisted. After taking to Auto Zone to read check engine light, there was no readable code. The warnings have since went away. The vehicle had 2,497 miles on it at the time of this occurrence which was on June 9, 2023 at 10:18 am.
Purchased 1 Feb 23. 3 weeks later, I pulled out of driveway and drove 3 blocks before coming to stop sign, After stopping, I proceeded to pull across 4 lane hwy. Only to have vehicle shut off in middle of 2 lanes. I was left sitting broadside in middle of 2 lanes. I finally realized the drivers door was ajar, I closed door completely and was able to restart vehicle. It is Now June 2023 and it happened again after driving about 3 blocks. This time It shut off while I was driving 50 mph in middle of 2 lane hwy. Again drivers door was ajar. This is a serious safety hazzard. Vehicle is not supposed to move if door is not closed completely. There were no bells or lights warning you that door was not closed completely. Jeep Dearlership does not seem to think this is a major safety issue and did nothing to fix.
Turn signals are blinking at slow/abnormal rate after car was put into repair. Appears to have been after a software update. Multiple vehicle owners reporting same issue.
The issue only occurs when holding down a +/- button to move the speed control to a high/lower set-point greater than a one mph increment. When, after being held, the button is released at the desired new speed level, it continues to increase/decrease speed until the speed control is turned off, cancelled, or the brake is actuated. (The manual for this vehicle reinforces my understanding that releasing the held button, should stop the speed change and save a new speed level.) I have tested this, and it occurs every time and never stops accelerating until I turn off the speed control function. ( i have released this control at 35 mph and it continues to accelerate to greater than 90 mph and the new speed command is not recognized.) I can handle this now, but the first time it happened I froze temporarily and believe this issue to be very dangerous if it occurs with an unaware person at a critical time.
I was turning at a intersection, there was no car in-front only on the side , as I was turning , my jeep suddenly made an emergency beeping sound and break as if I was goin to crash into a car or something. Clearly I was just turning . The break was so hard I even thought I had gotten hit in the back or I had hit something in the front ! The car behind me had to stop and act fast as well otherwise I would have really been hit by him/her. I called my dealer since I had just bought my car 2weeks ago. I have a appt to get it look at , they told me it might be my sensor being dirty or something but I feel like this is a concern jeep should take care of. Or it will really cause an accident I don’t feel safe driving my jeep at all now! Especially doing turns or just thinking it might breaking when I am driving much faster next time. I’m taking my jeep to my dealer service dept. picture below are evidence of appts , and having to get a rental because of my report.
Dealer identified my concern with the noise the car is making as apart of the recall in the steering and no parts available to fix per dealer
Power steering went out. Wheel locks and does not turn. Extremely unsafe and over 90,000 jeep grand cherokees have recalls.

My vehicle has a faulty front camera system that began at around 1800 miles. When driving, multiple lights will illuminate on the dash. The cruise control, blind spot monitoring, lane keep system, and emergency automatic brakes will shut off. It has been in the shop off and on since May 13,2022. Dealership has been replaced multiple parts, but is unable to get camera system to recalibrate and function properly. Car manufacturer, Jeep, has gotten involved and can not seem to figure out what is wrong either.
Upon starting the vehicle, multiple dashboard lights came on alerting total loss of power steering system (EPS). This also triggered lights related to forward collision warning, lane departure warning, and lane keeping assistance. Vehicle was nearly impossible to steer out of driveway.
Vehicle was involved in a crash. Vehicle was hit head on by a pick-up truck. The air bags deployed in the pick-up truck due to the severity of the crash/impact, but the air bags in our vehicle failed to deploy. Driver of truck injured at scene but declined treatment. Passenger in our vehicle felt pain an hour after accident and went to ER and diagnosed with blunt force trauma injuries from the seat belt.
Lower control arm bracket failed. Yes available for inspection. The adaptive cruse lane assist function malfunctioned. Yes available for inspection. I was injured. Police inspected the wheel and called it into question a manufacture defect in the police report. Manufacture (Jeep) acknowledges it but has been unresponsive. No warning when the wheel assembly disengaged (wheel, brake, tie rod, control arm, stub axel from the vehicle) traveling at 67 mph prior to crashing into a barrier

RE: 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4Xe (hybrid) This complaint involves a well-known defect and malfunction endemic to the Jeep Wrangler 4Xe with the identical powertrain and software, and a well-documented recall of the Jeep Wrangler, but for some reason, does not yet extend to the Grand Cherokee 4Xe model for identical symptoms and malfunction behavior. The associated recall for the Wrangler is NHTSA campaign number: 22V865000. FCA US, LLC’s number for this recall ZB7, however the Grand Cherokee with the identical powertrain-- has yet to be recalled, however has the same defective issues. This is brand new off-the-showroom 2022 Grand Cherokee 4Xe, and the malfunctioning behavior began within the first 10 days-- at 179 miles (3/4 tank of fuel), with the vehicle going into the FORM (Fuel/Oil Refresh Mode), depriving the vehicle of electric mode or electric assist. The vehicle message stated: "Electric Mode Temporarily Unavailable - Fuel & Oil Refresh in Progress" Other dangerous symptoms and malfunctions associated with the defective/malfunctioning software have occurred: (a) A single instance of a "limp-home" mode (25 mph max on a main thoroughfare), and; (b) several instances of failure of the transmission to shift into a higher gear-- causing the engine to over-rev (over max redline RPM) to maintain a highway speed). At 331 miles, the vehicle was refueled for the first time, and the FORM warning message disappeared with the fresh refuel, however the vehicle hasn't been driven en
On several occasions, our 2022 Grand Cherokee Summit vehicle purchased in May 2022 from Pearson Jeep in Richmond, Va automatically switches to a lower gear causing the vehicle to have to be pulled over, put in Park before moving again. this is dangerous especially on the Interstate.
Having less than 3K miles in the odometer, the engine started to develop valve train noise that worsens as the engine gets hotter, taken to the dealership to check on the concern plus no start, had the battery replaced after staying 3 weeks in the dealership, supposedly the noise was normal, took it to another dealership as the first one left a few things not fixed, once again i was told the noise was normal, The noise started to get louder as miles were being put on the car, people would ask if the car was a diesel powered one, even the service advisor of the dealership were the car remains asked me if the engine was diesel when she heard the noise. At idling speed the engine is not running smoothly you can hear cylinders misfiring on the exhaust, oil temp remains over 240 when driven, 245 just by pressing the gas to pass a car, oil pressure at idling speed has gone lower as time goes by reaching at times 28 psi. Noise varies when the engine switches in between 8 cyl or 4 cyl mode, in 4 cyl mode the whole car vibrates really bad and loud until you hit the gas to get the engine out of the 4 cyl mode. Service engine light came on once at idling speed when the idling speed became erratic. Engine stalled once. Car in the dealership since Jan 23 2023, was called exactly one month later to pick it up as per they report everything was ok, asked to try another one with the same engine mine has so i could hear the "normal" noise, they had none to check, the shop foreman went on a tes

What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
