I have not had any issues with my 2017 Jeep Trailhawk that I have owned for 6 years. A couple of days ago I was exiting off the highway and felt a loud thump and lost all power, luckily I wasn't hit and was able to maneuver over around traffic to the shoulder. No warning lights have came on. Jeep will not drive, and cannot put in park. I had to have it towed home. I cannot find a dealership to help as they have told me there is a recall on the PTU units that were never fixed and they don't know when they could get me a transmission. I have looked up my VIN and mine is not showing a recall, but I am having the same issue with that the 2017-2019 jeep recalls are having. Is there anything I can get done?
2017 Jeep Cherokee complaints

The contact owns a 2017 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that after stopping at a stop sign, the vehicle failed to accelerate as needed. There was an abnormal grinding sound coming from the vehicle. The vehicle failed to accelerate as intended while depressing the accelerator pedal, and the engine seized. No warning lights were illuminated. The contact was able to coast to the side of the road. The vehicle was slowly driven to a parking lot and then towed to the residence. The vehicle was then towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with PTU failure. The contact previously received information from the manufacturer of an Extended Warranty on the vehicle. The dealer informed the contact that since a diagnostic test had not produced two specific fault codes, the vehicle could not be repaired under the Extended Warranty. The vehicle remained with the dealer unrepaired. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V011000 (Power Train). However, the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 85,000.
To Whom It May Concern, I am filing a safety complaint regarding my 2017 Jeep that is currently under recall for the Power Transfer Unit (PTU). I experienced a very frightening situation while driving in traffic when my vehicle would not properly stay in place, and I had to keep firm pressure on the brake to prevent it from rolling back into traffic. If I had not reacted quickly, this could have resulted in a serious accident or injuries. I have been informed that this issue is related to a serious recall involving the PTU, which can cause loss of power and rollaway risk. However, I have been told that there are no parts available yet and no timeline for when the repair will be completed. I am extremely concerned about continuing to drive a vehicle with a known safety defect. This is my third Jeep, and I recently paid this vehicle off. I depend on it daily for my job, to get my little girl to school. I am very thankful that this situation was not worse, but it easily could have been. I should not have to worry about my vehicle rolling into traffic due to a known recall issue. I have contacted Jeep recall representatives regarding this matter and was informed that no loaner vehicle would be provided and that if I needed alternate transportation, I would have to pay out of pocket. I do not believe it is reasonable for consumers to bear additional financial burden when the vehicle has a known safety defect under recall. I respectfully request that this matter be investigated and
I have had several different warning lights come on. 1. 4WD System Unavailable Service Required 2. 4WD Overheated Temporarily Unavailable 3. Stop/Start Not Ready Engine Temperature Too Low Received several codes showing faulty equipment. C140B-4B Transfer Case Motor Overheating-Drawing Excessive Amperage 11-13 Amps. Rear Differential has faulty pump Excessive end play at L/side axle Jeep will need a RR Differential and Transfer Case Assy I have taken vehicle to two different mechanics checking out the problems and potential repairs. It has taken a period of time to get to this point as I had the car looked at and the service light came on very intermittently and I did not drive the car much as I was unemployed during the summer. Since going back to work and using the car daily, my commute is only 1.3 miles, the light has started coming on more bringing me back to have vehicle diagnosed. At one point during this period of time, I also had to replace the oil cooler making me change the oil just after an oil change. Also, had to change the antifreeze. There are several recalls for similar problems, and I believe this is a jeep issue which should be repaired by a jeep dealer. I have serviced this vehicle and followed jeep guidelines for jeep service throughout vehicles life span. Jeep has so many different recalls and seem to minimize the outcome of affected vehicles. I am requesting jeep service for these problems that should not occur with a properly served vehicle. Thank You
Car has been broken down since May 2025. My car started jerking forcefully with my child in the car. Brought it in to be assessed. They could not figure it out. After two more times bringing it back in due to the jerking worsening, the car completely broke down in the middle of the road. Apparently recall has been active since January 2025. I was never notified that there even was a safety recall on my vehicle. Vehicle still does not have a recall remedy and I have been carless for 10 months. Not drivable. Has been sitting for a long time. Very frustrating and upsetting. Need my vehicle back. Have been making car payments on a car I don’t even have. Want reimbursement/ my car back.
The contact owns a 2017 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the 4WD warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the vehicle was purchased, and the contact was advised to take the vehicle to the dealer. The dealer was made aware of the failure; however, the contact was informed that parts were not available to repair the vehicle. An alternate dealer was contacted, and it was confirmed that parts were not available. The dealers advised the contact not to drive because the vehicle was unsafe to drive due to the unrepaired recall. The contact was informed of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V011000 (Power Train); however, parts were not available for the recall repair. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.
PTU failure occurred in May of 2025. This was verified by the Jeep dealer. Vehicle rolled downhill into traffic and towards a residential home upon attempting to stop at stop sign with PTU failure occurred. There were no warnings prior to this. Vehicle is still unusable 9 months later and Jeep will not provide a a timeline for PTU replacement.
Gear shift dash error. Getting all led lights let on my shift gear led indication. Car will run jumping or jerking movement. Then experiencing power loss when acceleration.
The component that failed is the PTU: part #68307402AJ. The part is still on my vehicle as the dealerships have no available replacement parts at this time. The dealer has diagnosed that the part needs replacement. The safety of continuing to drive this vehicle with the defective part is unknown. The dealer will not confirm or deny if it is safe to continue to drive the vehicle. The part is on back order with no ETA. Another vehicle with this same issue at the same dealership has currently been waiting 5 months for the part. The 4WD Service light is on at all times. Also a message displays at startup which says: "4WD System Service Required".
The contact owns a 2017 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, the message "Service 4WD" was displayed. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, who diagnosed that the PTU failed to operate as designed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The contact was informed that the VIN was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V011000 (POWER TRAIN). The contact stated that the vehicle had experienced the failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 128,000.
The contact owns a 2017 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that while his wife was driving approximately 50 MPH, the vehicle went into an unknown mode and made abnormal sounds. The driver pulled over to the side of the road. The driver attempted to park the vehicle, but the gear shifter failed to move to park(P). The driver then turned off the vehicle and was able to shift to park(P). The vehicle was then driven to the residence. The vehicle was parked and had not been driven since the failure. The dealer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V011000 (Power Train); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and provided vehicle assistance for approximately a year; however, the manufacturer had recently informed the contact that vehicle rental assistance would be discontinued because NHTSA had not deemed the vehicle unsafe to drive. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.
Shifter module problems.. the car jerks hard between shifts. The car reversing on it own and wont stop. Warning light in dash "service shifter soon"
Had the PTU recall serviced in 2023. This week the bolts from my ptu case to the transmission sheared off. The dealership wants $2200.00 to fix it saying the recall has nothing to with the bolts shearing off. They had to remove and replace the ptu case to do the recall. They either over torqued or cross threaded the bolts. Having to get a lawyer.
The vehicle started to not respond when I was pressing the gas pedal. It continued to not respond. I had to pull over and do multiple restarts. It has had issues with acceleration in the past but not tomthis extent. The recall has been over a year and no one will helpmat the dealership
The issue involved a malfunction of the two-speed Power Transfer Unit, which is available for inspection upon request. This malfunction created a serious safety risk, as it could have caused me to crash or resulted in another vehicle crashing into me. The problem was confirmed by an auto machanic that came to my home to inspect the vehicle because I was unable to drive it to get it inspected. Before the failure, a warning message appeared on the dashboard while I was driving that read “Service 4WD.” The alert came on briefly and then turned off. This happened in February of 2025. I was told that the part would be available on December 18th, then it changed to January 8th, and there is still no notice of when I can schedule to have my vehicle fixed.

Vehicle lost power in the middle of a busy road, in the midst of a turn, with my child in the car. Vehicle was towed to Jeep dealership and diagnostics were performed. It was determined that the PTU failed. No error was transmitted prior to failure and it happened without warning.
The contact owns a 2017 Jeep Cherokee. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V011000 (POWER TRAIN); however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The local dealer was contacted and confirmed that the part was not available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. While the contact’s daughter was driving and approaching a stop light, the vehicle continued to drive forward while the brake pedal was depressed. Later, while driving the vehicle experienced reduced power with the check engine warning light and the ETC warning light illuminated. The vehicle was inspected by an independent mechanic who determined that the PTU was faulty and needed to be replaced. The failure mileage was 171,000.

We continuously receive dashboard messaging related to this defect to replace the PTU. All lights illuminate near the shift knob, too. I'm scared I will lose motive power and cause a crash without warning or lose park function to cause injury. I received the Recall Letter a year ago in January 2025. I have checked with the dealer who sold us the Jeep and they say there isn't a fix for this. I understand that Stellantis might not have an approved fix, but is there another way this recall can be repaired? The messaging is becoming more and more frequent. It seems that the input shaft snap ring needs to be fully seated to stop uncontrolled movement of the input shaft inward. Not fixing this soon will continue to damage the range shift sleeve, or create more spline damage or range fork damage. The Drivetrain Control Module DTCM needs to be reprogrammed with new software to detect and monitor wear in the PTU. With the messaging I'm getting, I need to know, too, that the Warranty Extension terms are unlimited years/unlimited mileage per the recall notice from January 2025. I feel so unsafe driving my car and will not have my mom, kids, grandkids, husband, or other passengers with me for their own safety. Help, please!
The service 4WD msg. related to Manufacturer Recall Number01C / NHTSA Recall number25V-011 has been illuminating in my 2017 Jeep Cherokee for almost a year and the mfg. has known this challenge for several years. Every time I go to any dealerships & share with them the msg. & situation i.e. the softwear remedy posted the dealership says this is really not in effect & nothing happens to make the vehicle trust worthy & safe to operate. The precise recall was posted with NHTSA Jan. 2025 last year. I am forced to seek other means of transportation since I am fearful of the vehicle failing & causing an accident or incident. How long can they drag this out? When does the Lemon law take effect?
I am writing regarding a defective transfer case on my 2017 Jeep Cherokee. I took my car in to Firestone as I was having issues with my Heater not blowing hot air and my check engine coming on and off. I have attached a copy of Firestone's estimate of repair. Firestone informed me that my VIN was not part of the recall. Although my vehicle's VIN is not currently included in the existing recall, I am experiencing the same failure that has been widely reported and documented for this model and model year. My Jeep is only eight years old, and a transfer case should not fall under normal use at this age. This issue is a known and recurring problem with 2017 Jeep Cherokees, and the failure of such a major drivetrain component raises serious concerns about the reliability and safety of the vehicle. Given that this defect is well know and consistent with issues cover under the recall, I am requesting that my VIN be reviewed and considered for inclusion. I also ask that Jeep provide assistance or goodwill coverage for the repair, as this failure is not consistent with reasonable expectations for durability. I have been a loyal Jeep owner and chose this vehicle based on its reputation. I hope Jeep will stand behind its product and address this issue fairly. Please let me know what additional information or documentation you may need from me to move this review forward. I look forward to you response.
The vehicle is experiencing a malfunction of the Power Transfer Unit (PTU), which is part of the drivetrain / power train system. The vehicle is currently available for inspection upon request. The vehicle loses power during driving and produces grinding noises when making hard turns, which creates a risk of loss of propulsion while in motion, increasing the risk of a crash. The vehicle has stopped, loss of power while driving, at lights, and while waiting in traffic to make turns. The problem has been experienced multiple times during normal driving conditions. Formal dealer confirmation is pending / not yet completed. An appointment was made at Jeep dealership for software update (free) and a charge of $240 per hour for a diagnostic test to see what is causing the vehicle to suddenly stop. Not affordable for me at this time. I also went to my regular mechanic, whom is stating no issues detected, he can’t find an issue with the vehicle. I haven’t mentioned the PTU recall issue with this make and model vehicle to my mechanic but i will be taking it back to them and mentioning the recall for the make and model for 2017 Jeep for his inspection of my vehicle. Symptoms occurred without prior warning lights and included drivetrain-related behavior consistent with PTU failure. The vehicle experienced loss of power and grinding noises during hard turning without prior warning lights or messages. Exact mileage at first occurrence is UNKNOWN. The symptoms first appeared at approximate
This is clarification and additional information to a previous complaint filed: 11706675. The vehicle was experiencing grinding during hard turns shortly after i purchased it off the dealership lot in 2017. I didn’t know why, I thought I should practiced not making hard turns and thats what I did. Years later, around 2021 or 2022, I needed the first service on my vehicle, outside of regular maintenance (coolant hose piece replacement) and the mechanic mentioned the grinding during test drive while turning. I told him it always did that and that was the extent of that. He said nothing else and I didn’t know any better. Tjat shop has since closed down and I’ve been going to another mechanic since then. Most recently, December 2025, the vehicle started shutting off while driving. Im going to get my regular mechanic to inspect the PTU.
The contact owns a 2017 Jeep Cherokee. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V011000 (Power Train); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact stated that while parking, the transmission was shifted into park(P), but the vehicle continued to move. The 4WD, Service ABS, Service Parking Brake, and Service Shifter warning lights were illuminated. The contact attempted to turn off the vehicle, but the key fob was stuck in the ignition, in the ON position. The contact unhooked the battery to turn off the vehicle. The dealer was made aware of the failure and related the failure to the recall. The contact was informed that parts were not yet available. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact to stop driving the vehicle until the remedy was completed. The failure mileage was approximately 103,000.
Transfer case going out. The warning light comes on when driving.
The contact owns a 2017 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that upon starting and driving the vehicle, the 4WD and engine warning lights were illuminated. While driving at 45 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power and shut off. There was an abnormal grinding sound coming from the vehicle while turning. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V011000 (Power Train). The vehicle was taken to the local dealer several times, but the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact reached out to Chapman Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram Scottsdale (3800 N 89th St, Scottsdale, AZ 85251); but no assistance was provided. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who determined that the check engine warning light illuminated was due to an issue with the PTU. The manufacturer was contacted and offered a possible rental. The failure mileage was approximately 140,000.
On 11/1/25 we were driving our Jeep and it malfunctioned while at a stop light. We heard a loud "clunk" and the car would barely go and if we tried to put in park, it would continue to roll. We were on top of a hill so thankfully we didnt roll back or into traffic. We could not drive the car and had to have it towed since it was not safe to drive. Our Jeep is at an authorized Jeep dealer since 11/3/25 and we were told the issue was a power transfer unit that would be covered on the recall but the part was on backorder until 12/2. Jeep would only cover $50/day for a car rental, so we had to rely on borrowing cars from others. Once 12/2 came, we reached out to the dealership and they said the part ship date was moved to 12/18! This is not a timely manner. We have made at least 3 calls to Jeep over the past week, and they keep telling us since 12/10/25 that they will let us know in 2 days...2 days pass and they transfer our case. Another two days pass and still no call from them so I called them back and they have yet to call me. We had our Jeep in the week of 11/17 or 11/24 for inspection and it passed. We noticed some lagging when we were going up hills in the 1-2 rpm range but mechanic did not notice it. Between the inspection and when it finally broke down, no lights came on and there were no warning messages. Not until the car broke down on 11/1.
Component malfunctioned: Power Transfer Unit (PTU); Safety risk: failure risks loss of drive power of the vehicle, putting driver and surrounding individuals at risk; Problem reproduced: Yes - dealer; Component inspected: Yes - dealer; Messages: Yes - SVC 4WD. Upon purchasing the vehicle, I was informed that the PTU fluid is not meant to be changed - that it is meant to be "lifetime". However, at 8 years and 56,000 miles, I am now informed that the PTU is failing because the fluid was never changed. Thus, instead of a simple, cheap fluid change service, I now need to pay around $5,000 for the dealer to change out the entire PTU. 8 years and 56,000 is far from "lifetime" but it just outside of the warranty so I have to pay for this out of pocket despite Jeep claiming that the PTU fluid is not meant to be changed. This is so common of a problem that the PTU part needed to complete this repair is not only out of stock at all dealers, there is a long queue for obtaining the part. This is costing me not just extra repair money but also impacting my daily life as I am out of a vehicle for much longer due to having to wait for an available part. I now also have to pay for other modes of transportation while also being overall limited on my ability to complete daily responsibilities. Clearly, if the PTU fluid is meant to be "lifetime", as I was informed it was meant to be when I purchased the vehicle, it is consistently defective since so many Jeep owners are dealing with this proble
This is one of the cars that does not fail under the PTU recall. It currently has the exact issue as the recall but my vin is not in the recall. They performed the reprogramming which has not fix the issue. This and others should be included in the current recall due to the exact same issue and model year. This was bought because it’s 4wd and this is now not useable while others are having them repaired by Jeep. This car has not been able at times to engage in park the 4wd service is on and the ptu code is on. Thank you

The contact stated that there was oil leaking from the vehicle. The contact stated that there was a failure with the gear shifter. The contact stated that the vehicle slipped out of gear unexpectedly. The vehicle was turned off and restarted. During research, the contact located NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V011000 (Power Train). The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, who determined that the oil gasket and oil housing needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, and the contact was placed on a waiting list. The contact was informed that an email would be sent when parts were available. The failure mileage was approximately 94,000.
Power train failure while driving confirmed by dealer in February 2025 - 01C recall.vehicle is inoperable and sitting at dealer. Keep being told parts unavailable. Reimbursement for rental was nightmare and deliberately delayed, change terms mid rental etc. No updates, no remedies, no compensation.
My car back in June 2025 left me stranded in the turn lane with traffic backing up after the emergency parking brake turned on without warning. I was not able to drive e my car or to release the brake and move my car. I did a thorough review of all possible reasonable switches that could have caused the malfunction. So I tried to turn off all of the warning systems. Once I did this I couldn't drive faster than 5 to 10 mph. I was able to get to a parking lot about 100 ft away. I called a tow truck, spoke with my mechanic at the local dealership. He suggested what I had already done including removing the battery cables. We did all this to no avail. He got the car then took 3 days to get it to release after opening and closing the door 10 times before starting the car again. He said I need a modulator valve. We have been waiting for over 6 months and my car is still waiting for this part. I can not drive the only car I own when I have a safety issue. Should this had happened while driving with my grandson in the car it is unsafe and it isn't what an autistic child needs to face. This incident has happened 4 times since it happened in June. Every time it takes place, I have to turn off the car open and close the door 10 times before the carvwill release and reset the computer system to make the car drivable again. I did check with the dealership yesterday and still other jeeps of this year has the same issues but my car is not in that listing. What does a person have do when it

The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.
The Service 4WD light comes on intermittently and the vehicle goes from 4WD to no wheel drive. Local dealership and independent shops indicate this is an internal error in the PTU and it must be replaced. Research indicates there were ~26,000 recalled vehicles for my year, make and model due to this very issue. However, all have confirmed my VIN was not part of the recall.
Nov 2023 while driving, car began grinding. Service engine light along with Service Shifter warning appeared. Took to my Independent Mechanic who diagnosed problem as the PTU. There were several complaints, but no official Recall for my VIN. Had PTU replaced. Nov 2024 similar problem except car rolled forward after being placed in Park, and warning lights appeared again. Returned to Independent mechanic who replaced the defective PTU. Still no active Recall for my VIN. Repair completed under warranty. Since repair, Intermittent "Service Shifter" light, but no codes or faults showing. Nov 2025 grinding noise when turning. Independent mechanic diagnosed the Rear Differential and hydraulic pumps to be the problem.

Car stopped working in an intersection then started rolling. Only way to stop was to put emergency brake on. Took to a mechanic and was told it was the ptu. There is a recall with no remedy as of right now since January. I need a vehicle to live. Want company to pay for a rental. Not me paying for it then being reimbursed
The contact owns a 2017 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving 5 MPH and making a turn, the vehicle stalled. Several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, where it was determined that the PTU was the cause of the failure. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V011000 (Power Train). The local dealer was contacted and confirmed that parts were on backorder. The contact called another local dealer, Colonial South Chrysler Ram Jeep and Dodge (42 State Rd, Dartmouth, MA 02747), but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 144,000.

The contact was able to coast to the shoulder of the roadway, where the vehicle failed to restart. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, who diagnosed a failure with the Power Transfer Unit (PTU), resulting in damage to the transmission and rear differential. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V011000 (Power Train); the VIN was included, but parts were not yet available. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and confirmed that parts were not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The failure mileage was 160,000.
The PTU failed and needs a new transfer case, per the dealership in Blue Ridge, GA. According to them, there is no repair; however, I have inquired about acquiring a refund / replacement vehicle. I am in touch with my lender regarding this matter.
Jeep Cherokee – Unexpected 4WD / PTU Issue Out of nowhere, my Jeep Cherokee displayed a message on the dashboard saying “Service 4 Wheel Drive.” I was driving normally at the time — no impact, no off-road driving, and nothing unusual occurred beforehand. After taking the vehicle to my mechanic, I was informed that the issue might be related to the PTU (Power Transfer Unit). It seems the system failed without any warning signs. Now, every time I start the car, the same “Service 4 Wheel Drive” message reappears. There are no strange noises or performance issues at the moment, but the warning remains, which is concerning and will need further inspection.
Need new transfer case. Why isn’t my jeep under a recall for this problem - when so many other 2017 jeeps are ?
Parking brake on the jeep automatically engaged while driving. Had vehicle towed to dealership where a new parking brake switch was installed and programed and told it was ready to go. Picked it up and it did the same thing again and turned on the auto start stop light. Took it back to the dealership and they said water had gotten into the back area and corroded the parking brake module and the connector. They wanted to charge me $2500 to fix. I took the vehicle home and parked it and started doing research. This is a known problem that could affect 1.2 million vehicles. My jeep only has 73,500 miles on it and is regularly serviced. It's driven roughly 4 miles a day. This is a safety issue so why isn't there a recall on it. It is a defect in design not a consumer made issue.
While driving, the transmission failed to operate safely. We had the car towed to a Jeep dealership for repairs. They diagnosed the problem and told us that the transmission had to be replaced. After about a month, they then notified us that they had to re-install the software in order to complete the repair. Then, a couple of weeks later, notified us that now, they had to replace the PTU in order to complete the repair. During that timeframe, I did some research and found that a recall had been issued on that PTU, for that particular Jeep model. However, I was not notified of the recall. (Number O1C). After talking with a representative of the parent company's "claims" department, they stated that my specific vin number was not found on their file, in connection with the recall. I communicated the sequence of repairs needed to complete the "fix" for my car, and told the employee that it was my contention that the failed PTU, logically and reasonably was the cause of the transmission failure. I was told to "wait and see" if they could find out why my vin # was not listed. Subsequently, I've filed requests for reimbursement to multiple entities connected to Jeep, and have been told that my claim had been denied. In my opinion, a major transmission failure IS, in fact a serious SATETY concern, especially when you have no power to control your speed while driving. I am still researching other options to appeal my case.
PTU has failed. Recal needs to include 2017 limited models. Driving while came on. Didn't know exactly if I was going to get home, out me at rush for an accident. Light it on dash, SVC 4x4.
I've owned this vehicle for about four years now. The car has been good up until JUST after my warranty expired and now I have a "Service 4WD" light on now. This light will come on most times when I'm driving. Sometimes not right away. But when it does light up it will say lit for the remainder of the drive. I belong to an online jeep group and I'm seeing a lot of the same issue. This light will come on most of the time. Any way I really hope you can help. Thank you.

NHTSA publishes every complaint as the owner wrote it and investigates only a fraction. Spelling, capitalisation and judgement are the filer’s own. What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
