2019 Jayco Fifth Wheel Eagle HT

Defect. Jayco, Inc. (Jayco) is recalling certain 2019-2020 Eagle HT fifth wheel trailers equipped with MORyde Orbital or You Turn Rubber Pin Box Wedge Kits. The pin boxes may have been equipped with bolts 1-3/4" in length when they should be equipped with 2" long bolts.

Risk. When the pin box is unlocked, the incorrect length bolts may allow the rotating pin box to rotate in two places, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Jayco will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the bolts and replace them as necessary, free of charge. The recall began on September 18, 2019. Owners may contact MORyde customer service at 1-574-293-1581 or Jayco at 1-800-283-8267. Jayco's number for this recall is 9901435.

The contact owns a 2019 Jayco Eagle HT RV. The contact stated that the front tires had experienced excessive wear and tear. The RV was taken to the local dealer who diagnosed that the front axle was bent and needed to be replaced. The cause of the failure was not determined. The RV was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 5,000.

The contact owns a 2019 Jayco Eagle HT. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V425000 (Equipment). A dealer was contacted and informed him that he had the part available to repair the RV however, the contact had to repair the recall himself. The contact then called Rangitsch Brothers RV and Manufactured Home Center (2001 W Broadway St, Missoula, MT 59808) where he was informed that they had to order the part and that they would service the RV under the recall. The manufacturer was notified of the recall and informed him that there was a part shortage and that parts were not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.
