2015 Infiniti Q50 complaints

My car has 60,000 miles on it and multiple mechanics as well as the Infiniti dealership tell me it needs a new transmission. $8,000. It will not shift above 2nd gear. I took the valve body and manifold out of the transmission and was surprised to find that the output speed sensor plug is actually a dumby plug that connects to nothing. I've had cars with hundreds of thousands of miles on them still driving with the same transmission they were born with. I've rebuilt a lot of engines, but never had to replace a transmission, especially not after 60,000 miles. Any, I searched the internet and noticed that it's a very common problem with this vehicle.

The speed sensor on car seems to have failed unexpectedly while driving over a bridge. The car would barely move and could have become a dangerous situation for multiple people had it been typical traffic. The issue seems to be that although the sensors are corrupted, the entire valve body or transmission must be replaced to solve the issue leaving the car inoperable. 4/16/2023 Sunday 5pm With my wife and daughter in the car, I started the vehicle in my driveway and selected Sport mode as usual. Selected reverse and backed into our turnaround then forward to the end of our driveway. Driveway is approximately 4 car lengths long with a 20 ft long apron turnaround. Almost immediately after braking at the end of the driveway while waiting for passing traffic to exit drive, vehicle suddenly accelerated and I immediately pressed the brake as hard as I could to prevent driving into passing vehicles. I could hear the tires trying to grip/spin while I was fighting to press the brake harder to hold it t back. I then panicked and selected the gear shifter to anything other than drive and it immediately did the same in reverse. After getting in into park, I immediately selected Standard mode and the vehicle performed normal afterwards. There were no warning lights or anything to indicate any issues. Previously I had noticed minor intermittent issues of high RPMs when slowing or braking while in Sport mode but it would immediately correct itself. I have not had a chance to take it for inspection as it's now Monday morning April 17. We were all very shaken. Please advise.

I was driving perfectly fine and i stopped at a red-light. I went to accelerate and the car wouldn't shift out of first gear and then check engine light came on. I pulled over and scanned the codes, it showed code p0500. After bringing to shop and reading thousands of different things from people who own the car online all said the same thing. Transmission valve body is shot. I almost got rear ended when i let off the gas because the engines rpms were so high casuing quick engine braking.

The car was being driven on a normal day and while in gear and driven the car stalled and would no longer shift automatic. The car will not come out of 3rd gear. Took the car to repair shop and was told is a known issue with this model and even the transmission or transmission valve body needs replacement. Infinite will not issue recall and I have reach out to corporate on the issue the repair want 8,000 to replace transmission the car is out of extended warranty that was purchase on the vehicle I’m only the second owner of the car well maintained and should not be having this issue of a self maintained transmission with a vehicle worth 25,000 wen brought.

All or one of the doors lock preventing someone from exiting the vehicle. This could be extra dangerous during adverse weather conditions or in the event of an emergency.

I was driving and tried to turn but had lost complete control of the steering and hit the curb infront. Luckily i was only going 5-10 MPH so the impact was not terrible. My biggest concern is a lot of times my mother drives that car who is permanently disabled in one hand so I can only fear what might happen if she was the one driving the car.

The valve body/TCM. Yes the vehicle is available for inspection. The valve body/TCM shorts out on the car unexpectedly and can happen at any time causing the car to be unable to go pass third gear. This can occur on the freeway, or when trying to avoid an accident. This is an known problem with Infiniti’s & there is also an service bulletin associated with this problem. This vehicle has be inspected by the dealership and they confirmed the issue. There are no warning light or and thing prior to this event. After the failure this codes popped up P0720 & P0500. This occurred on Aug 13, 2022

Brake Pedal sinks to floor slowly at Red Lights. Randomly vehicle will yank seat belt back when abs module detects no brake fluid pressure once in a blue moon. This is because of the defective ABS module hydraulics leak internally from the factory. As brake fluid heats up the internal leak gets worse. Most likely check ball to pump or out valve leaking by. Model year 2015 for sure. I never got it covered under warranty because the problem starts out very random and takes a lot of time for it to always happen. Dealers will just say no problem found. ABS module cost $1k for me to buy at the dealer. Now I have brakes all the time again no thanks to a factory defect module randomly giving poor to no braking power. Internet forums of 2014-2016 have many people saying the same thing. Not the master cylinder, it is an internally leaking ABS module and will have no codes. Not happy about paying to replace a factory defective part.

My vehicle suddenly jumped then accelerated slowly and wouldn't get past 3rd gear while driving on I275 (speed limit 55MPH) proceeded to mechanic, error code 0720 speed sensor output related to transmission. Then was told by Infiniti and another auto body repair shop that it most likely in models 2014-2016 it was a transmission assembly that needed replaced. that Infiniti was given a service bulletin that they should not just replace the speed sensor. I believe this should be a recall. My vehicle has less than 60,000 miles and has been garaged and has had all maintenance completed. This is a safety issue, Infiniti is aware of this and it is also a costly repair anywhere from $2500-$3000. I am asking for a recall of Valve body for Infinite Q50 2014-2016.

The contact owns a 2015 Infiniti Q50. The contact stated while driving 20 MPH, the vehicle struck a sewer drain cover and the front driver’s side air bag deployed and the driver’s and passenger’s front seatbelts locked as needed to secure the occupants. The local dealer was contacted and the contact was informed that the vehicle needed to be diagnosed to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and notified of the failure. The contact was informed that the vehicle had to be repaired out of pocket. The failure mileage was approximately 84,000.

The vehicle would not shift above 3rd gear. I was driving down interstate and got off the exit and the shifting acted up. Valve body completely went out. This happens on most Infiniti’s per my transmissions specialist I took it to. He suggested I contact you.

The contact owns a 2015 Infiniti Q50. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, the airbag warning lights would remain illuminated while a front passenger was seated in the vehicle. The front passenger’s side air bag system message would indicate that the system was turned off. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who serviced the failure under NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V244000 (Air Bags) however, the failure recurred days later. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The local dealer and manufacturer were notified of the failure but no assistance was offered. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was 21,000.

My steering wheel heater used to work normally, meaning an acceptable temperature, and divided evenly through my steering wheel. It is now only getting SUPER hot, to where I cannot even hold it, on the bottom left part of the steering wheel. The rest of the steering wheel is cool.

My Car Suddenly Stopped In The Middle Of The Road With A Check Engine Light. I Have a P0720 & P0500 Codes Indicating A Vehicle Speed Sensor & Output Speed Sensor Failed While Operating . This Cause My Transmission To Fail And Not Shifting. I Am On My Way To The Dealer Now . Hopefully Infiniti Will Do The Right Thing And Fix It . At 56,000 Miles A Transmission Should Not Fail . Unexpectedly Almost Causing A Car Collision . No Prior Warning Was Provided By The Car . The Car Just Suddenly Failed . This Is A Very Serious Safety Concern .

It seem as the chassis control system continues to fail even after I had the entire system replaced at Austin Infiniti. It seem as it is electrical that doesn't occur all the time but occurs randomly even while driving. It make the steering lock up after a stiff pull at random times then cause all the other system to act up such as the collision or lane departure. It states error code chassis control system and Infiniti each time after taking it back for a warranty job they decline after having footage that I take when the error occurs with my steering wheel in a different angle for forward driving. This is why I am writing this if it can resolve others who have ran into this occurrences when Austin Infiniti has told me they have ran into this before for another customer but luckily they car was under the manufacturer warranty and mine carshield. Will be dropping off again in March for my appointment since it seem to be coming on more often hoping the warranty company can inspect the error this time to repair it.

When on the highway my transmission slipped then went out and wouldn’t accelerate, without any warning or sign of trouble beforehand. I scrambled to pull over and it started to accelerate again. It struggled to shift in 1st gear and second but despite going over 40 mph it would not shift to third gear. I could feel it slipping/sputtering when letting up on the accelerator and jerk when I press on the brakes. The engine will continue to rev high at lower speed. My check engine light came on and gave two codes, P0720 and P0500. I took this to my mechanic and he advised the valve body that houses the AT speed sensor be replaced and I likely need a new transmission. On a forum for Q50s another Infiniti owner said a dealer parts manager told them that Infiniti was aware there was a problem, and that the valve body was hard to come by and part of the delay was due to them redesigning the part to assure it didn't happen again. They suggested filing a case with Infiniti in case they were to issue some type of recall or TSB. He said out of the 750+ parts that were on backorder, his was #130 in line, and it still took over 2 months to receive. IF this is a known issue it is dangerous and should be addressed

While driving my Q50 on the highway at around 65mph my car automatically down shifted to 1st gear. It was a really hard shift, so hard I thought someone rear ended me. To down shift that quickly on the highway placed me in a very unsafe position. My car almost came to a complete stop without any notice to the vehicle behind me. Someone could have rear ended because I didn't hit my breaks. Thank God the car behind me was pretty far back, because if they had been a little closer, they would have hit me.

The contact owns a 2015 Infiniti Q50. The contact stated that when she was about to drive the vehicle, her son who was sitting in the passenger’s side seat noticed that the passenger seat belt retractor was locked. Her son was unable to stretch the seat belt to securely buckle the seat belt. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that the entire seat belt assembly needed to be replaced. The contact also contacted Bob Moore Infiniti (13000 N Kelley Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73131) who informed her that she would be responsible for the cost of the repair. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 96,200.

I WAS DRIVING MY INFINITI Q50 and puled up to a light. When it turned green I proceeded when I noticed my check engine light comes. It won't shift past 3rd gear. it seems to be in limp mode but there was a tractor trailer barreling down on me. So I get to 35 MPH and ride the side of the road. Once I got home I did a search and apparently there are A LOT of issues with this transmission. Most indicated it was the valvebody and that it could cost upward of $2,500.00 plus there is a back order on them. This is my only car and can't have it tied up to long. I have an appointment to have it diagnosed this coming Wednesday, 06/09/2021. I can't drive it or I will burn up the transmission. If there is such a large problem I would think this would have a recall on it. My car only has 65, 624 miles on the clock. This needs to be addressed. I am hoping for a miracle when it gets diagnosed but with all the evidence out there about the bad transmission in these cars I am expecting the worse.

On 5-25-2021 while merging into traffic on busy I-75. My 2015 Infiniti Q50 did not change into a higher gear as it should have causing the vehicle to not accelerate and lose power then the check engine light came on a few seconds after failure.This failure of the vehicles drive train placed my wife’s life and my life in extreme danger in which we were not able to accelerate with the flow of traffic and was nearly ran over by several semi tractor trucks. The vehicle is in the repair shop for the transmission valve body failure and replacement. I’ve looked this issue up online where numerous owners of this type vehicle have complained and described this as a common problem with these vehicles.

WHEN I BOUGHT MY 2014 INFINITI Q50 I PUT IT ON THE ROAD AND THEN I STARTED RECEIVING RECALLS. I ALSO HAD SEVERAL LIGHTS ON. I BROUGHT IT BACK TO DEALERSHIP THEY DID SOMETHING LIKE CLEARING THE LIGHTS WITHOUT EVEN LOOKING AT IT. 45 DAYS AFTER I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE I WAS IN A SERIOUS MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT. I ALMOST DIED AND I LOST MY SPLEEN. ONE OF THE AIRBAGS DIDN'T DEPLOY WHICH WAS THE REASONING FOR LOSING MY SPLEEN. I BELIEVE MY STEERING LOCKED UP AND ENDED UP HITTING GUARDRAIL. TOTAL LOSS. I LOST 4,000 BECAUSE OF THIS ACCIDENT NEVER MIND I ALL MOST LOST MY LIFE!!! THIS ACCIDENT HAPPENED ON THE HIGHWAY.

MY CAR PAUSE AND JERKS THEN STOPS. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED AFTER BEING FIXED. THE MECHANIC SAID THEY HAD A RECALL ON THE 2016 MODELS FOR THIS BUT NOT THE 2015 BUT HAD TO CORRECT MANY OF THE 2015 MODELS. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AFTER IT STOPPED. I WAS ON THE INTERSTATE THE LAST TIME WHEN IT STOPPED. I AM AFRAID THAT IT MIGHT HAPPEN AGAIN WITHOUT ANY WARNING. THIS IS A LIFE THREATENING DEFECT THAT INFINITI NEEDS TO CORRECT ASAP.

THE CONTACT CONTACTED INFINITI OF TAMPA (4600 N DALE MABRY HWY, TAMPA, FL 33614; (813) 694-1579) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE CAMSHAFT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,000.

CONTINUED DRIVING AND I'M NOTICING AS I TRY TO ACCELERATE MY CAR IS NOT SHIFTING INTO 3RD GEAR... SO I GET TO ABOUT 35-40 MPH AND NOW I CAN TELL IT'S REVVING IN THE SAME GEAR..GET HOME GOOGLE THE ISSUE AND IT SEEMS THE VALVE BODY ON THE 2015 Q50 HAS A THREAD... GO TO YOUTUBE THIS GUY HAS A VIDEO ABOUT HIM BEING TOLD IT'S THE SPEED SENSORS... BUT WHEN HE WENT FOR REPAIR INFINITI INFORMS HIM THE VALVE BODY NEEDS REPLACING. I TOOK MY CAR INTO AN INFINITI DEALER , SPENT $180 TO HAVE A DIAGNOSTIC RUN AND WAS TOLD THEIR IS A SERVICE BULLETIN FOR THE SPEED SENSORS THAT THEY SHOULD JUST REPLACE THE VALVE BODY. THE VALVE BODY IS $1635 AND ON A NATIONAL BACK ORDER AS OF AUGUST 2020 WHEN I'M EXPERIENCING THIS ISSUE.. CALLED INFINITI CONSUMER AFFAIRS AND I'M TOLD WELL UNLESS YOU PAY FOR THE PART WE CAN'T DO ANYTHING TO GET IT EXPEDITED... IT'S BEEN 45 DAYS... SO I HAVE TO TIE UP $1700 AND DON'T KNOW WHEN THIS PART MAY BE AVAILABLE.. CAN'T DRIVE CAR BECAUSE I'LL BURN MY TRANSMISSION UP... PLACE THE CAR IN REVERSE TO BACK OUT OF A PARKING SPACE. WHEN I GOT TO MY STOPPING POINT I APPLIED MY BRAKES TO STOP TO SHIFT GEARS TO GO FORWARD. UPON PRESSING THE BRAKES THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT STOP AND CONTINUE TO ROLL BACKWARDS I PRESSED HARDER TO STOP THE VEHICLE IT DID NOT STOP IT ROLLED OVER A CURB AND BACKED INTO ANOTHER CAR BEFORE IT STOPPED. ONCE I TURNED OFF THE CAR AND RE-STARTED THE CAR AGAIN THE BRAKES WORKED PROPERLY. DAMAGE OCCURRED TO BOTH VEHICLES.

WHILE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION THERE'S A SQUEAKING NOISE COMING FROM UNDER THE DRIVER'S SEAT TOWARDS THE MIDDLE CONSOLE. THE SQUEAKING NOISE USUALLY HAPPENS WHEN TURNING OR DRIVING OVER SPEED BUMPS/MANHOLE COVERS AND THINGS ALIKE AND THESE INCIDENTS OCCUR MOSTLY ON CITY STREETS.

LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL AFTER START OF CAR, STEERING PULLS HARD TO ONE SIDE. HAS HAPPENED AT LEAST 4 TIMES. IT IS MY UNDERSTANDING THAT OTHER Q 50 HAVE BEEN RECALLED FOR THIS INTERMITTENT STEERING PROBLEM. I DO HAVE VIDEO OF THE LAST OCCURRENCE, BUT IT EXCEEDS 5MB.

I WAS DRIVING TO WORK AT APPROX 6:15AM ON HWY 17. SPEED WAS APPROX 40MPH WHEN THE SUNROOF SUDDENLY EXPLODED. MOST OF THE GLASS FLEW OUT SHOWERING THE CARS BEHIND ME. I DIDN'T HEAR OR SEE ANYTHING HIT THE SUNROOF.

TURNED THE VEHICLE ON, PULLED OUT OF PARKING SPOT AND HEARD A NOISE FROM THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE AS STEERING WHEEL WAS TURNED. THE STEERING WAS VERY TIGHT AND THE VEHICLE WAS DIFFICULT TO MANEUVER. AS THE SPEED INCREASED, THE STEERING LOOSENED, AND AS THE VEHICLE DECELERATED, THE VEHICLE BECAME NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO MANEUVER. THE POWER STEERING FLUID IS FULL, AND THE VEHICLE APPEARED TO BE IN GOOD CONDITION. THERE WERE NO ACCIDENTS OR INCIDENTS PRIOR TO THIS ISSUE, AND THE VEHICLE OPERATED WITHOUT ISSUE PRIOR TO THIS INCIDENT.

I WAS SIMPLY DRIVING ON THE STREET WHEN MY VEHICLE STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD CAUSING CARS TO ALMOST HIT ME. I WAS NOT INVOLVED IN ANY ACCIDENT BUT INFINITI HAS INFORMED ME THAT THE EMERGENCY SHUT OFF WAS ACTIVATED FOR UNKNOWN REASON CAUSING MY AC COMPRESSOR TO BLOW AND ENTIRE FUSE BOX TO BE DESTROYED. MY CAR ONLY HAS 70K MILES ON IT SO THIS A SAFETY HAZARD. THESE PARTS NEED TO BE RECALLED IMMEDIATELY THERE'S NO LEGITIMATE REASON FOR A NEW CAR TO DO THIS. ACCORDING TO THE MANUAL THE EMERGENCY SHUT OF FOR INFINITI HYBRIDS ONLY HAPPENED WHEN INVOLVED IN MAJOR CAR ACCIDENTS. THIS IS NOT RIGHT.

MY VEHICLE HAS AN OPTIONAL TECH PACKAGE THAT PROVIDES FORWARD BRAKING, LANE DEPARTURE AND BACKUP BRAKING. APPARENTLY WHEN I HIT A POTHOLE, THESE SAFETY FEATURES OCCASIONALLY TURN OFF. IV'E HAD THESE CAR FOR 4 1/2 YEARS AND BECAME AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM ABOUT 6 MONTHS AGO. I'M HAVE BECOME DEPENDENT ON THESE SAFETY ENHANCEMENTS AND NO-LONGER FEEL COMFORTABLE WHEN DRIVING. I HAVE COMPLAINED THE DEALERSHIP SINCE NOVEMBER 19 AND STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED A POSITIVE RESPONSE ALL I WANT IS TO HAVE A WORKING SAFETY SYSTEM..

ENGINE AND/OR TRANSMISSION LOST TORQUE POWER. SINCE 2016 WHILE CAR ONLY HAD 11,000 MILES ALL OF THE SUDDEN CAR LOST TORQUE POWER WHILE ACCELERATING. CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR HAS NEVER LIGHT UP AND DEALER CONSULT SCANNER HAS NEVER FOUND THE ISSUE. STILL CAR DOESNT HAVE SAME ACCELERATION NOR TORQUE WHILE GOING 0-60MPH. ALREADY I'VE SEEN SO FAR 4 CARS OF THE SAME YEAR WITH SPEED SENSOR PROBLEMS AND REPLACEMENT. MECHANICS SAY IT BEGINS BY LOOSING POWER UNTIL STOPS WORKING AND CAR WONT MOVE.

THERE ARE TIME WHEN I GO TO TURN MY STEERING WHEEL I AM GIVING MORE FORCE TO TURN THE CAR AND MY CAR SHOWS NO MECHANICAL DAMAGE OR ANYTHING BUT WHEN I TURN THE WHEEL IT STIFFENS UP A LOT AND IT IS NOT SMOOTH TO TURN ESPECIALLY WHEN I AM MAKING TURNS I SEE THIS AND IT IS WHEN I'M IN THE CITY MOSTLY.

CARS STEERING WHEEL WILL CLUNK AND TURN OPPOSITE DIRECTIONS WILL REVERSING INTO PARKING SPOTS OR SLOWLY TAKING OFF FROM BEING STATIONARY. THIS HAS HAPPENED A FEW TIMES OVER THE COURSE OF 4 MONTHS AND I'VE ONLY HAD THE CAR FOR ABOUT 7. LAST NIGHT I WAS PULLING INTO MY DRIVEWAY AND THE STEERING WHEEL SHARPLY TURNED RIGHT, I SHIFTED THE CAR TO PARK, AND THE CAR JUST COMPLETELY DIED. NOTHING HAD WORKED AT THAT POINT, NO LIGHTS, IGNITION, KEYS, NOTHING. I GOT OUT OF THE CAR AND SHUT THE DRIVER DOOR AND EVERYTHING TURNED BACK ON EXCEPT NOW THE STEERING WHEEL WON'T TURN UNLESS USING UNREASONABLE FORCE. POWER STEERING LIGHT ILLUMINATED, CHASSIS CONTROL. THIS HAS ALSO HAPPENED ON MY TEST DRIVE WITH THE VEHICLE IN DECEMBER OF 2018 WITH 54,000 MILES BEFORE PURCHASING . THE STEERING WHEEL SLIGHTLY TWITCHED AND I EXPRESSED MY CONCERN TO THE DEALER AND HE SAID IT WAS NORMAL. IT WAS VERY LIGHTLY THAT YOU COULD HARDLY TELL IT DID IT SO I WASN'T SUSPICIOUS OF THE CAR HAVING PROBLEMS. THIS HAS NOT ALMOST CAUSED IN ACCIDENTS BUT I HAVE A 3 MONTH OLD GIRL AND THIS IS VERY UNSAFE AND ALSO MY ONLY CAR.

ME, MY WIFE AND NEWBORN DAUGHTER WERE ON OUR WAY HOME ON THE EXPRESS WAY DURING RUSH HOUR IN ECO MODE WITH APPROXIMATELY 35 MILES BEFORE EMPTY, WE WERE ABOUT 2 MILES AWAY FROM THE NEAREST FUEL STATION. WE WERE TRAVELING EAST DOING ABOUT 40 MPH DUE TO HEAVY TRAFFIC WHEN ALL OF SUDDEN MY Q50 STARTED TO BOG DOWN AND THEN EVENTUALLY STALLED . LUCKILY WE WERE RIGHT NEXT TO THE SHOULDER. I PULL OVER POP THE HOOD LOOKED EVERYTHING OVER AND ALL SEEMED FINE. TRIED TO RESTART AND CAR WOULD TURN OVER, START, AND THEN STALL AS IF THERE WAS ISN'T ANY GAS IN THE CAR. AFTER CALLING MY FATHER IN LAW , WHILE WAITING, I LOOKED UP THE SYMPTOMS AND SAW THE SAME ISSUE IN THE 2016-17 MODELS, RECALL #17V476000 RECALL DATE 07/27/2017 COMPONENT ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: SOFTWARE. I MEAN SYMPTOMS WERE SPOT ON EXACT. I BELIEVE THIS NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED AS I'M PROBABLY NOT THE ONLY PERSON WITH A 2015 Q50 EXPERIENCING THIS. I WAS DRIVING ON I-65 AT 4:00 PM ON JUNE 19 WHEN MY SUNROOF EXPLODED. NO OTHER VEHICLES OR DEBRIS WERE NEAR ME AND NO INDICATION OF IMPACT.

THE REAR WINDSHIELD SHATTERED, ALL FOUR DOORS WERE SMASHED IN, AND THE FRONT GRILL BECAME DETACHED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN IMPOUND YARD. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A SLIGHT CONCUSSION AND RECEIVED MEDICAL ATTENTION AT A HOSPITAL ON HER OWN. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE INSURANCE COMPANY HAD NOT YET MADE A DETERMINATION TO TOTAL THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED, FILED A REPORT, AND PROMISED TO CALL BACK WITHIN 72 HOURS. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 29,000. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN.

ON 12-04-2018 MY WIFE AND I BEGAN A ROAD TRIP FROM SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA TO BOZEMAN, MONTANA IN OUR 2015 INFINITI Q50. THE INFINITI Q50 IS EQUIPPED WITH DRIVER AND PASSENGER SEAT WARMERS. DUE TO THE EXTREME COLD, MY WIFE (PASSENGER) ACTIVATED HER RIGHT FRONT PASSENGER SEAT WARMER TO THE HIGH SETTING. THE RIGHT FRONT PASSENGER SEAT WARMER WAS ACTIVATED FROM NORTHERN NEVADA TO IDAHO FALLS, IDAHO, APPROXIMATELY FOR 9 HOURS. AS WE APPROACHED IDAHO FALLS, MY WIFE AND I BEGAN TO SMELL A BURNT ODOR COMING FROM WITHIN THE INTERIOR OF THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT OF THE INFINITI. WE IMMEDIATELY PULLED OVER AND MY WIFE LOCATED THE BURNT SMELL COMING FROM THE RIGHT FRONT PASSENGER SEAT WHERE MY WIFE'S RIGHT ELBOW HAD BEEN RESTING DURING THE TRIP. THE SEAT WARMER HAD HEATED THE SEAT TO THE POINT WHERE IT HAD BURNED THROUGH THE LAYERING AND SOFTENED THE LEATHER TO THE POINT WHERE MY WIFE'S ELBOW WENT THROUGH. THIS WAS AN IMMEDIATE CONCERN AND WE TURNED OFF BOTH SEAT WARMERS. ON 12-17-2018, UPON OUR RETURN FROM MONTANA WE TOOK THE INFINITI Q50 TO THE PERRY INFINITI DEALERSHIP OF ESCONDIDO, CA WHERE IT WAS LEFT FOR INSPECTION. ON 12-19-2018 WE WERE TOLD BY PERRY INFINITI DEALERSHIP THAT THE DAMAGE WOULD NOT BE COVERED DUE TO THEIR FINDINGS. PERRY INFINITI STATED THAT THEY BELIEVED THE DAMAGE TO BE CAUSED BY AN OUTSIDE SOURCE. THIS TO US WAS IMPOSSIBLE SINCE WE ARE NOT SMOKERS NOR DO WE TRANSPORT ANY FLAMMABLE PRODUCTS IN OUR VEHICLE. WE CONTACTED THE INFINITY CONSUMER AFFAIRS AND REPORTED THE IN

SINCE I RECEIVED THE CAR BACK IN 2015, THE REAR BACK UP CAMERA HAS A TENDENCY TO REMAIN ON THE SCREEN EVEN WHEN THE VEHICLE IS PLACED FROM REVERSE TO DRIVE. I HAVE TAKEN THE CAR INTO THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE CENTER ON CONEY ISLAND AVENUE IN BROOKLYN NY NUMEROUS TIMES AND SHOWED THEM HOW THE REAR CAMERA WAS STUCK ON THE VIDEO MONITOR. THEY SUGGESTED I SHUT THE CAR OFF AND STARTED IT AGAIN, WHICH ALLEVIATED THE ISSUE TEMPORARILY UNTIL IT HAPPENED NUMEROUS TIMES AGAIN. THIS POSES A VERY SERIOUS HAZARD ESPECIALLY IF YOU CANNOT STOP AND RESTART THE CAR.

IN THE CASE OF MOST NEWER CARS, INCLUDING MY OWN, THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE RULES FOR HEADLIGHTS. WHEN THE LIGHTS ARE IN THE ON OR AUTO POSITION, THE HEADLIGHTS WILL COME ON, AS WELL AS THE TAIL-LIGHTS. WHEN THE LIGHTS ARE IN THE OFF POSITION, NEWER CARS WILL SENSE WHEN TWILIGHT IS FALLING AND TURN ON BOTH THE HEADLIGHTS AND DASHBOARD LIGHTS BUT NOT THE TAIL-LIGHTS. THIS WILL GIVE THE DRIVER THE SENSE THAT HE HAS HIS LIGHTS ON (FOR HE CAN SEE THAT HIS HEADLIGHTS ARE ON) BUT HAS NO IDEA THAT HIS TAIL-LIGHTS ARE NOT ON, AND THAT THEREFORE HIS CAR IS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO SEE IN THE DARK. THE ONLY INDICATOR IN MY CAR THAT WOULD TELL ME IS THE GREEN LIGHT ON MY DASHBOARD TELLING ME THAT THE HEADLIGHTS ON IN THE ON OR AUTO POSITION. I AM AN UBER DRIVER IN SAN FRANCISCO AND FIND MYSELF TELLING MANY DRIVERS OF MANY DIFFERENT KINDS OF CARS THAT THEIR LIGHTS ARE NOT IN THE ON POSITION. THEY ARE ALWAYS GRATEFUL TO KNOW. THE PROBLEM, I THINK, IS THAT ALL THE CAR MANUFACTURERS ARE FOLLOWING YOUR DIRECTIONS, NOT THINKING OUTSIDE THE BOX, AND NOT REALIZING THAT YOU AND THEY HAVE CREATED A POTENTIALLY DEADLY SITUATION. I HOPE THAT YOU CAN DIRECT AUTO MANUFACTURERS TO REPAIR AND REPLACE THIS SITUATION. IF THE HEADLIGHTS GO ON, THEN THE TAIL-LIGHTS NEED TO GO ON, REGARDLESS OF THE POSITION ON THE LIGHTING STEM. CAR PULLS TO THE LEFT ON ITS OWN , HAPPENS PRETTY OFTEN. THE FORCE IS SO BAD THAT I CAN BERELY KEEP THE CAR ON THE ROAD. HAVE TAKEN THE CAR TO DEALER 6 TIMES THEY CALLED INFINITI MANUFACTURER ENGINEER AND HE SAID THEY COULD NOT FIND THE PROBLEM I HAVE SEVERAL VIDEOS I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE THIS CAR. THE CAR DOES THAT FEW MINS AFTER STARTING THE CAR IT PULLS TO THE LEFT WITH A HARD FORCE FOR LIKE 2-3 MINS THAN BECOMES NORMAL LIKE NOTHING EVER HAPPENED.
