The contact owns a 2023 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated while driving approximately 45 MPH, the accelerator pedal was depressed while merging onto a highway, but the vehicle lost forward momentum. The contact stated that the message "Limited to 20 MPH" was displayed on the instrument cluster. The contact depressed the accelerator pedal, and the vehicle failed to respond as needed. The contact stated that the engine was not revving. The contact pulled off the highway and into a parking lot. The contact turned the vehicle off and on, and normal driving was resumed. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent and was occurring while accelerating. Additionally, the contact stated that upon starting the vehicle in the morning, the vehicle would jump forward while still in park (P). Additionally, the contact stated that the horn had stopped functioning after the last loss of forward momentum but had returned to normal function a few days later. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer, however, the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 26,500.

On [XXX], while driving a 2023 Hyundai TUCSON SEL, the steering wheel suddenly and completely detached from the steering column and ended up in the driver's lap. This sudden and absolute loss of steering control is a catastrophic failure of a primary safety system that placed the driver's life and potentially the lives of others in immediate and extreme peril. It was only due to sheer luck that the vehicle was brought to a stop without an accident or injury. Following the incident, due to fear and anxiety, the driver is now in treatment and has been unable to work. The vehicle was transported to Ron Marhofer Hyundai on the same day. The following day, the driver was met with a profound lack of respect and professionalism from the service advisor, Declan McCready. The driver and her mother were implicitly told they did not know what they were talking about and were treated with a profound lack of respect. The service advisor initially asserted there was no warranty coverage for the issue and that it would cost nearly $500.00 to fix. He also claimed his entire shop of mechanics looked at the car and found nothing was broken. However, the very next day, the dealership abruptly reversed their diagnosis and instructed the driver to get a rental car, stating they would now be fixing the vehicle under warranty. The repair order confirms the technician's findings: "verified concern steering column separated stopped bracket bent and separated replaced column housing operating normal".
UNKNOWN - was parking in a spot and car accelerated uncommanded, stepped on the brakes and car did not stop. It stopped with parking sign cement post.
I leased a 2023 Hyundai Tucson AWD, and approximately four months after leasing, I began experiencing vibration and shaking when braking, especially at higher speeds and downhill. I brought the issue to a dealership, and while replacing the brake pads temporarily resolved the problem, I am concerned it will return, as many other Tucson owners have reported similar recurring issues even after rotor or pad replacement. This raises concerns about a potential underlying defect in the braking system that may not have been properly addressed. The issue poses a serious safety risk due to reduced control during braking, and I am documenting this in case it recurs. No warning lights appeared, but the problem was physically noticeable and confirmed by the service center. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. I have a video i can send as per request i am not able to attach.
Engine misfiring, causing low power on interstate 70 also losing brake control.
My 2023 Hyundai Tucson has had the horn replaced twice. the technician indicated this is a common problem due to the location of the horn its susceptible to water damage rendering it useless. The horn is something rarely used and we were not aware it did not work until we tried to use it to alert a car entering our lane of traffic!
For the second time in a year, I was pulling into a parking space and when I applied the brake, the car accelerated, seemed to be airborne and lurched forward. Though I firmly had my foot on the break, it would not stop until it hit a brick post about three feet away. This exact same scenario happened in July of last year. Then, I hit a stand of shrubs. Someone said, your foot must have slipped off the break and hit the accelerator. I said, “I don’t think so.” Yet, I took the blame for the accident, for I could not believe it was a car malfunction, nothing close to this had happened to me since I owned the car. Everything was the same in the last crash as in the first. This time, as soon as the car accelerated, I checked, and my foot was firmly on the break. There is definitely a malfunction in the car. The black.box Should be recovered and read by someone not associated with Hyundai. I checked on Hyundai Tucson Owners’ group on Facebook, and my incident has been reported by others.
I previously leased my vehicle from Rick Case Hyundai in April 2023, In November i started having issues with my vehicle as i moved to Colorado. My whole vehicle starts to uncontrollably shake going 25 mph and over. Since highway speed limit is 65 that is where i struggle the most with driving and that is the most endangering as well. I have to pump my breaks and hope they don't stop working. I have taken my car to get a diagnostic multiple times at different dealerships and each time i went to another dealership they advised a different problem I can send an email or mail with all attachments of diagnostic reports from Hyundai dealership. Each dealership advised one of these problems, engine, brakes, rotors, tires, etc, although the vehicle was a few months old! I reported lemon l to Hyundai Customer service with 2 different attempts and they denied my lemon law and advised i should pay for anything not under warranty. Although the vehicle has a manufacture defect i will be continuing to attempt different dealerships to help my cause since i am endangering myself and everyone around me. I have done enough research to know i am not the only person with this problem and this should be a recall defect. I need a solution so i can drive in the state i live in ,Colorado, and not be scared for my life that my car will stop working at some point.
While on the road, the sunroof just shattered completely. In this instance, nobody was hurt as the cover below the sunroof was open and that caught all the glass pieces. The car is hardly 2 year old and warranty covered the repairs. The complaint is that Hyundai never gave a clear answer as to why this happened and what can be done to prevent it. There is no consideration of the passengers getting hurt and startled by this incident. Also no consideration for the time it took for the repairs, the dealership never gave a loaner and we didn’t know we could rent it and Hyundai would reimburse. I feel Hyundai cannot just say sorry and move on as there has to be a reason for this and we pay extra for having a sunroof. I am not satisfied with Hyundai’s method of dealing with customers who suffered bear of their own manufacturing.
Driving on the highway when my car stopped accelerating when pressing down on the gas pedal. It was very risky to be driving on the highway without the ability to accelerate so we put our hazard lights on while we got out the highway ay the nearest exit and parked the car in a nearby parking lot. We were stranded about 100 miles away from home and had to have the car towed back home. Dealership confirmed that it was the fuel injector that was the issue and has been a known common issue for this type of vehicle.
Approximately 2-3 months ago, the horn had failed. This was reported to the dealer and covered under warranty. During the service the dealer advised that this issue was due to a faulty electrical contact and was a “known issue with the supplier of the horn”. Because of this, Hyundai extended the warranty period on the horn. Now, the horn had failed a second time and was discovered during a safety hazard in which I needed to alert another driver. This had the potential to cause serious injury but was avoided.
FUEL INJECTORS FAILED AT 18523 MILES. Replaced both low and high injector on this cylinder 3 and then continued performance issues. Replaced all low injectors in Al 4 cylinders but did not replace higher injectors Stranded on Sunday on highway with no rental cars open except airport.
This week I noticed my low tone horn on my vehicle had stopped working It was replaced under warranty by Hyundai at 41000 miles Only a little while ago at 35000 miles both horns went out and I only learned this when I needed it to help avoid being hit and it wasn’t available Hyundai indicated they are aware of issue but are still replacing horns with the same original part that is prone to shorting out
2023 Hyundai Tucson with just over 14,000 miles failed to accelerate. After completing a right turn the vehicle seemed like it went into neutral. A green warning light appeared stating limit 20 mph. I now know this is “limp mode”. Turning the vehicle off and back on seemed to resolve the issue. The vehicle was towed to the dealer. They found nothing wrong. I was told to take a picture of the warning next time. I was fortunate to not have caused an accident. This is incredibly dangerous.
This is the SECOND time the vehicle has lost power and either had the engine die or stopped producing enough power to drive safely. The first time, the engine lost power to the put of not being able to maintain speed on a very busy highway during rush hour, forcing me to pull to the nearest side (left side of road) that had a narrow shoulder next to fastest vehicles. The most recent event (3/25/2025) took place in a parking lot. Engine was VERY rough at idle and when placed in reverse, it died. Could not restart for ~10 minutes, after which time the problem persisted. In both instances a tow truck had to take vehicle to dealership. In both cases the dealer indicated it was the fuel injectors causing the issues. No check engines lights or other dashboard light came on except for an indication to start the vehicle in Neutral. I used the companies app for the vehicle and no error codes came up. This issue resulted in no damage to persons or property, but could have if I wasn't next to shoulder in the first incident.
The car turned off while I was driving. Everything went black. I was able to coast to the side of the road.
I was driving straight when a vehicle coming from the opposite direction made a left turn without yielding, crossing into my lane. As a result, my vehicle collided with the other car at full speed. However, the airbag in my steering wheel did not deploy upon impact, as it should have. My injuries have been significantly more severe than they would have been had the airbag functioned properly. I reported this issue to the vehicle manufacturer, and they opened a case and conducted an inspection. During their inspection, they found that the airbag had since deployed. However, my vehicle was transported off a steep hill and moved to multiple lots before the inspection, any of which could have triggered a delayed deployment. Despite this, the manufacturer has refused to accept liability. Because the airbag failed to deploy at the time of impact, there was no buffer between me and the steering wheel. This resulted in excessive force against my chest from the seatbelt and direct impact with the steering wheel, leading to more severe injuries. There were no warning lights on in the vehicle before the crash, nor were there any recalls related to this issue at the time of the incident.
I am on my 3rd fuel injector repair in less than 2 years. asked if they could replace them all and was told they can only replace what is broken. My car was purchased brand new and still under warranty . each time the car was towed to 3 different dealers, i have not received a loaner or a rental car voucher. I have been without my car for upwards of over a week. So what exactly is the warranty good for? I have a friend who has a 2106 acura ilx and to this day when it needs to be repaired, he gets a loaner and they pick the car up from his home. This is so disappointing to have purchased a 2023 car in Dec of 2022 with 13 miles on it and have had it in the shop 3 times as of Feb 2025
My vehicle has been in for service 4 times for the front brake rotors warping. The dealer/manufacturer is not able to fix nor diagnose the root cause of the issue. They have replaced the rotors twice and turned/resurfaced the rotors twice - all in 26000 miles. The dealer has all but given up on the issue - and has referred me to Hyundai Customer Care (Corporate) where I have logged a case. In my discussions with the dealer service manager - he stated there are "half a dozen" other cars he is aware of with similar issues. In online Hyundai owners forums this is also a "known" issue that apparently Hyundai either chooses not to fix or cannot determine how to fix.
(1) [XXX] (14,568 mi): The vehicle had been running normally. My wife was about to switch lanes at an intersection when the vehicle started to shake and vibrate. The entire dashboard lit up and the vehicle quickly died. She tried restarting it and the engine wouldn’t turn over. Anytime there was an attempt to restart, there was a potent odor of gasoline. The car died in the middle of the road. It would sort of start but then it wouldn't move and would just shake and smell of gas. After many minutes of trying to start the vehicle, barely got power but was able to pull to side of road around other cars. Hyundai app reported codes: P030300 and P217800. Had car towed to local dealer. Picked the car up and next day spoke to the service manager who indicated there was a 20%-25% chance this would reoccur. He said there was nothing he could do as Hyundai would only cover the cost for the existing issue. The paperwork from the dealer shows it was a P0303 for cylinder 3 misfire and system too rich caused by leaking fuel injector for cylinder 3 (low pressure). [XXX] (14,702 mi) I was driving the car, in middle of an intersection and the vehicle started to vibrate and all lights on dash lit up (check engine, battery, etc.) and smell of gasoline. Car hesitated and wouldn't move. Died in intersection. Had to have 2 people help push me as I was dead in middle of road with people beeping and passing me. Got to side of road and couldn't get vehicle to start. No error codes on app this time, b
I was driving on a highway at 75 mph, on a clear day, with perfect visibility and driving conditions and my automatic emergency braking engaged. I was on cruise control with no one in front of me for approximately half a mile. There were cars behind me, so I had to swerve into another lane to avoid being rear ended. There was a sequence of beeps. If there were warning lights or messages, I was too busy dodging to see them. There may have been a squiggly line that came up, but I am unsure.
This vehicle has been taken in on four separate occasions now to have know faulty fuel injectors replaced. All dealer service people acknowledge this is a know defect, all tow truck drivers have also confirmed the same, as well as thousands of people online. Huandai has not issued a recall. When the injectors go out, the car dies and will not accelerate and then leaves me stranded on the side of the road. This happens with little to no warning so is extremely dangerous. Do people have to die to make this a safety recall?
I purchased the car in December of 2022 and within the first few months, it would shut down on the interstate. After a few minutes, it would crank back up and be fine. I immediately took it to the dealership (authorized Hyundai dealer) and they could not find an issue. A couple months later, it did it again. Again, I took it to the dealer, they didn't find anything, and I took it home. After a year, it stopped and would not start back up for a long time. I was stranded at a gas station for over an hour. I finally got it to crank, took it in, and they said they fixed a faulty fuel injector. Now it's October 2024 and it is back at the dealer because last week it left me stranded on the side of the interstate at night for a few hours. Again, they are replacing 2 fuel injectors.
The horn stopped working. I’m told by Hyundai service technician this is fairly common issue due to the location of the horns they are susceptible to “shorting out”
Attempted to make right turn onto busy road. Tried to accelerate to move with the traffic, when the car would not go any faster then 20MPH. Could hear cars braking behind me. Pulled over to the side. Message appeared on speedometer, " Limit 20MPH" with green Speedometer. Shut the car off tried to find problem in the manual. Didnt find anything. Turned car back on, it ran normal. Took it to Hyundai, Fort Myers, Appointment, on 08/28/24. They diagnosed it as : "driver assist speed setting was turned on inside settings. Turned off setting, performed a DTC code scanning with no dtcs in any system. Attached stui photos, performed a 2 mile test drive with no further issues". I can only hope that the problem is solved. I do not recall turning on anything like, and wouldn't know how to, but I guess it is possible. Wanted to notify the NHTSA, in case there are other owners experiencing the same issue. Thank you for concern
Horn stopped working even the fuse is fine still horn not working . Not panic alarm sound either.
On [XXX] around [XXX] PM two Barnes County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a Reckless Driving Complaint. The Reckless Driving Complaint started on [XXX] and later crashed around [XXX] near [XXX]. Barnes County Sheriff Randy McClaflin said the reporting person, a [XXX] female, was also the driver of the reckless vehicle, a 2023 white Hyundai Tucson. of Fargo contacted the Barnes County Dispatch Center and reported her gas pedal was stuck and the vehicle she was driving was traveling at speeds of over 90 miles per hour. made multiple attempts to shut the vehicle off, place it in neutral/park and brake however, those attempts failed. One Barnes County Sheriff’s Deputy was able to position his patrol vehicle in front of vehicle while the other Barnes County Sheriff’s Deputy was able to position her patrol vehicle behind Both Deputies communicated with through a Barnes County Dispatcher while they attempted to disable vehicle. At one-point was able to slow her vehicle enough that she decided she could enter the median and use the cable barriers to stop the runaway vehicle before it struck a slow-moving vehicle ahead of the lead Deputy. entered the median and struck the cable barrier with the side of her vehicle. The vehicle became disabled. was uninjured and was taken to Mercy Hospital by Sheriff’s Deputies. The North Dakota Highway Patrol will be investigating the crash. 2023 Tuscon Limited Gas - Multiple instances on Vehicle Forward collision warning system activating with alarms noted but no activation of emergency braking while sitting at stop light with cars in front and back that are not moving. Radio system going to show surround view and in some cases only front view even though at stop light. Biggest issue this weekend while taking a curve while merging onto another freeway the emergency braking system activated for no reason. First time occurrence. No one beside me or in front of me for some distance but did have someone behind me. It was a quick activation of the brakes and then release, I would say 1-2 second engagement. If had been longer and brought me to stop would of been an accident. I am taking the car to Westlake Hyundai to investigate this week and will report. Also having dealer investigate premature driver seat excessive wear. Car has 15.5K miles on it. I am concerned as this car is exhibiting same issues that my wife's 2018 Tuscon had that ended-up being successfully lemon lawed. I am also seeing way to many similar complaints and Hyundai needs to figure out what is going on with their emergency front collision sensing system and issue a fix or recall.
The rear turn signals on the 2023 Hyundai Tucson are on the rear bumper. They are never seen by any car or truck sitting behind you or next to you in your blindspot. I believe the 2022 & the 2024 also have this issue, and there are numerous complaints about it online, especially on Reddit and auto forums. They are dangerous. Cars too close behind you or next to you in your blindspot, will never see your signal, especially the larger cars & trucks or tall autos such as buses, garbage trucks, etc. Here is one of many articles & videos about this issue: [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
Failure to accelerate. While entering Route 95 from on ramp traveling at about 40 miles the car failed to accelerate. Gas pedal revved engine but failed to accelerate and slowed. Safety of myself and others in grave risk as I was trying to merge into traffic that was traveling at 65 miles per hour. I contacted dealer and was told appointment was not available for weeks and they never heard of the problem. I will bring auto into dealership and leave it with them as it is clearly unsafe to drive. No warning light on dash or engine light problem was present.
The contact owned a 2023 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated that while his mother was driving at an undisclosed speed, she heard an abnormal sound emanating from an unknown location of the vehicle, after which the vehicle began to accelerate on its own. The driver attempted to stop the vehicle, but the brake pedal pulsated and failed to slow the vehicle, resulting in the driver briefly losing control of the vehicle and only coming to a complete stop after colliding with a utility pole. Both the driver and passenger side air bags deployed. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to a tow yard and deemed a total loss by the contact's insurance provider. A police report was filed, and injuries were reported. The driver and passenger were both transported to an area hospital by EMT and treated for injuries to the chest sustained from the air bags. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 10,000.
The contact owns a 2023 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated while driving 20 MPH approaching a RED traffic light and depressing the brake pedal, the vehicle failed to stop as needed. The contact steered the vehicle on a patch of grass nearby and shifted into neutral(N) to stop the vehicle. There were no warning lights illuminated. The battery was detached and reconnected to reset the vehicle. The contact was able to drive the vehicle at low speeds. The dealer was contacted and informed of the failure. The dealer stated that without warning lights being illuminated they would not be able to diagnose the vehicle to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle had not been taken to the dealer to be diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 22,600.
Upon closing the driver’s side door, the panoramic sunroof exploded. The car is currently at the dealership where it was purchased. It is available for inspection. Safety……Any occupants within the vehicle would have been exposed to the shards of glass if the sunshade was open! The dealer stated that Hyundai has approved the replacement of the exploded sunroof glass and the cleaning of the glass remnants inside the car. The was no warning or symptoms prior to this incident. We requested a loaner vehicle but as of today we have not received one. Completion date stated 1 week..order and installation. The rounded upwards photo of the sunroof glass, the stress fractures at the front and rear of the glass as well as the inward bending of the front sunroof corners gives every indication of an upward movement of the glass from within the car. It was not damaged by any objects external to the vehicle. There are many similar incidents cited on the internet
After stopped at a red light, the light turned green and the car slipped into neutral when stepping on the gas pedal. The gear was not shifted and the controls still displayed “D” both on the dashboard and the gear selector. This happened twice 5 days apart from each other. This car has an automatic transmission and the automatic engine shut off was on.
While driving my new Tucson, the emergency brake randomly activated bringing the car to a jarring stop. Very scary and its happened twice now. Dealer won't help as its intermittent so very frustrating.
While driving 35mph on a 3-lane street in the far left lane, a driver of a Ford F-150 was in the center lane about two car lengths ahead, decided to make a right turn onto a residential street (as if he were driving a semi). As I got closer, the forward collision warning suddenly alerted and immediately initiated emergency braking system causing all 3 passengers to be thrown forward. I hit the steering wheel before seat belt caught me. I was not even within distance and he was turning in opposite direction of my lane. There also seems to be sensitivity issues with lane keeping feature as in Phoenix, there are never ending freeway construction with make-shift lanes not always marked well. On several occasions the steering wheel was jerked out of my hands because it couldn’t detect the lanes any longer. It has caused me to avoid freeways all together and has made me miss the exit off the freeway twice now. I thought this feature only activated during active cruise control, but apparently it does it regardless. Now I’m beginning to have problems with display going out at the worst times. I will be taking my Tucson to a dealer to have them deactivate both systems & advise of display. I shouldn’t have to pay for this. I’ll take over the driving, thank you very much!
The car suddenly and unintentionally accelerated. To avoid going through the back of my garage, I turned slightly and hit the frame of the garage. It continued to accelerate for a few seconds until I managed to stop it. I then backed up. Again, the car suddenly unintentionally accelerated. I managed to stop it. I slowly drove it into the garage. I left it in the garage until having it towed to Planet Hyundai. I did not want to drive it in case it accelerated on the drive to Planet Hyundai. I was driving about 5 mph when I hit the frame of the garage. The car continued to accelerate. Automatic Emergency breaking and Forward collision warning. The vehicle has been inspected by the manufacturer. The inspector or the dealer could not reproduce the problem. The vehicle can be inspected. The vehicle has been parked at Planet Hyundai from 1/29/2024 to 4/15/2024 I reported the incident to Hyundai USA.I have not received any inspection reports.
The trim on the driver's side rear door flew off while traveling at approximately 65 miles per hour. Luckly no one was behind me. I was able to retrieve the trim piece from the highway and it was determined to have been placed improperly on the car. The trim was not able to be replaced due to damage when it was run over by several vehicles. The warranty says it's covered but the trim has been on back order for a month.
When pulling out of my driveway onto street, I lost acceleration. My vehicle would not go oer 35 mph and the RPMs were revving up too 5000 without speed moving. I tried changing the drive mode to fix it, that did not help. I pulled over,s topped the car and restarted and all seemed normal. This has happened 2 other times since I bought the car. The other 2 times was while i was on the interstate the engine stopped engaging and i could not accelerate. Both times the issue corrected itself by the time I could get safely out of traffic. This is a major accident concern as there is no warning before this happens.
See attached document for complaint
The contact owns a 2023 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated that while driving approximately 40 MHP, the vehicle suddenly lost motive power and stalled. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer who diagnosed an engine misfire in cylinder #3. The cylinder #3 was replaced and the vehicle was repaired. The vehicle later experienced the same failure and was towed to the dealer who diagnosed that cylinder #4 was faulty. The cylinder #4 was replaced and the vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had issued a TSB for the failure that included all four cylinders were faulty. The failure mileage was 15,000.
The contact owns a 2023 Honda Tucson. The contact stated while driving 74 MPH with the cruise control activated, the Forward Collision Avoidance system activated, after which the Automatic Emergency Braking activated, causing a rapid deceleration to the vehicle. The contact was able to regain control of the vehicle by lightly tapping the brake pedal, deactivating the system. The vehicle returned to normal functionality, but the failure became a regular occurrence. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who was unable to duplicate the failure but informed the contact that they would disable the Forward Collision Avoidance system pending a diagnosis. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a case was opened. The failure mileage was 13,000.
This Hyundai Tucson was 3 months old when the transmission started to shudder and miss gears. I immediately took it in to Ken Garff Hyundai and the service advisor drove the car and said nothing is wrong with the car and that the transmission needs to break in and sent me on my way. The Tucson did it again while in traffic and the vehicle would not go and I had to put my hazard lights on and let the car struggle in changing gears to get it off the road. The car was towed in to Peoria Larry Miller Hyundai and this was documented by that dealership of the car shuddering and that they thought it was from my insurance plug in device. I explained that the car did it before the plug in. I removed the plug in device and the car continued to shudder. On [XXX] while backing out of my garage the car began to shudder while in reverse and i continued down the road while the transmission refused to change gears. It almost sounded aa if the car was in neutral and the car would on go no more than 3mp. I had the gas pedal floored and the car would not go. I reparked the car back at my home and called Hyundai for a tow. The tow came and the tow driver stated that the seemed as if it is in neutral as he drove it up on to the tow truck. After getting the vehicle to the dealership i was told from the service advisor that this is an ongoing problem with Hyundai's dual clutch transmission and this sounds like the problem. The contact owns a 2023 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated that after placing the vehicle in park(P) and exiting the vehicle, the vehicle inadvertently rolled backwards. The contact stated that the vehicle was equipped with Automatic Emergency Braking; however, the system failed to activate, resulting in damage to the vehicle. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a case was opened. The failure mileage was 22,000.
Driving down the freeway at normal speeds and my panoramic sunroof literally just exploded, raining tempered glass all over the interior of the vehicle while I was driving. No evidence that it was caused by any road debris, objects, nor falling objects from the sky. I wasn’t driving under a bridge and no cars/trucks were immediately next to me nor in front of me. Traffic was flowing at normal speed. I wasn’t injured but was certainly startled and distracted for a moment to gauge what had just happened. The dealer is looking into it. Claims it could have been caused by a rock. That seems to defy the law of physics and the glass actually look like it bowed from the inside out as if too much pressure was being applied to the glass. Searches online seem to point to several class action lawsuits and plenty of reports of similar exploding sunroofs!
Forward collision alert came on and brakes initiated while I was behind a car that was turning into a driveway. The car in front of me was almost all the way into the driveway. After that I drove approximately 200 feet and the collision alert warning came on, no vehicles were around me. The next day, as I was driving, a car was waiting to exit an apartment driveway, the collision alert came on. No reason for it. I took my car in to Hyundai on January 9, to have the oil changed and check the forward collision alert system. They told me they checked it, and could not find anything wrong, and recalibrated the system, and hoped that took care of it.
Indicator/turn light is very low under bumper. It is not visible to the vehicle behind and around. Other driver think that I am not turning indicator light and they are upset and honking at me. Poor design and it could cause an accident.
Engine would not accelerate after stopping at a store. Limped home at 15 mph. Engine light came on a few miles from home. Vehicle would not stay running the next morning and had to be towed to dealership. Problem was an injector that the seal had failed on causing the engine to flood with gasoline. Dealership stated they had seen multiple injector failures and replacement parts now have a different part number implying the injector has been redesigned. Hyundai refused to replace the other injectors as they had not failed yet (they did replace the one that failed). I went ahead and paid to replace the other three. I live in Montana. If I had lost acceleration going up a steep incline or in heavy traffic or car engine failed to stay on in remote area in sub zero temperatures it could have had detrimental consequences.
On multiple occasions, my new Hyundai Tucson randomly deployed emergency brakes while traveling on highway. This created a dangerous condition as my vehicle started braking without reason which prompted vehicle following my vehicle to slam on their brakes.
The contact owns a 2023 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated that on three occasions while the vehicle was in park(P), the vehicle failed to shift into the intended gear. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the rear-view sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. On another occasion, while at a car wash the rear hatch opened inadvertently. On another occasion, while driving approximately 65 MPH, the Emergency Automatic Braking Display light was illuminated, and the vehicle slowed down inadvertently. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 500.
