Car has less than 67,000 miles on it. Routine oil changes using 5W/20 Valvoline full synthetic oil. Approximately a year ago at less than 60,000 miles there was a noticeable difference in performance...especially when accelerating. Tried couple tanks of premium unleaded, but that did not help. I noticed significant oil usage...but no oil leaks. Within 1,000 miles of an oil change, I was having to add more oil. The oil usage is getting worse...now having to add a quart about every 600 miles. I have enjoyed this car very much, but I'm deeply concerned about the amount of oil it is using. I am the second owner so there's no warranty. After researching the issue, I see that many people are experiencing this exact same issue with their Hyundai. If Hyundai Motor Company wants to remain a viable company, they need to do the right thing and recall all these cars to be repaired.

My car is burning oil at an excessive rate. I bought this car August 2022 and within the first year I was having to constantly fill up my car with oil to make it through the month. I finally had a claim open for the oil test and at first was told that I do qualify for a new engine and to bring it in for pictures etc to get this going. This was around December 2022/January 2023I bring my car in to Hyundai dealership . they did not do this and I was told that everything should be okay no engine replacement .Again I had to put oil in before my next oil change. I brought it in on April 3 2023 by April 27th my car had consumed over 3L of oil. Another claim was filed and Hyundai denied stating car out of warranty . The dealership denies there’s any issues or lawsuit associated with my make/model/year for my car. A quick google search has shown that there is indeed. One article states that a recall was going to announced for May 19th2023 for this same issue.
I have owned my sonata since I bought it in 2016, brand new. Started having issues with having to get more frequent oil changes in 2021, of course after my warranty out. It ‘s supposed to make 5,000 m between changes for synthetic/hm oil, but when it first started the car would be not wanting to run right, jumping, engine seemed to be running rougher, which would happen right around or close to the 3,000mark. From there it got worse and worse. Oil changes started becoming needed at 2,000 or less miles between, so many mechanics say that Hyundai are the worst for burning excessive oil. Fast forward to 2022, even with the oil changes in every 2,000 miles or so, we started having to literally ADD extra oil to the engine between changes, to the point where we would worry and check it about halfway through the 2,000 miles and sure enough very low or barely any oil even in the car??? So we would add about 2-3 quarts, get it back to the right amount. Then at times right before oil change adding 1-2 more quarts. The car would start not running as well every time it deemed it necessary for an oil change, which was way too early AND after adding up to 5 quarts , just did what we had to do bc we kept being told, Hyundai’s are just bad for Burning excessive oil!! Throughout all this, not once did a check engine light, problem indicator light come on to say anything was wrong mind you. Here comes August 2023, oil had been changed yet again and it wasn’t time for even an early change at li
Brought car at 49k…notices Car started burning oil around 80k.. I went to dealership where I brought the car from and they did a oil consumption.. I was told I passed it around 88k… oil getting worse was told it was my oil pan…120k car started jerking and hesitating on interstate while I was going 70 mph tune up cylinder 3 coil.. changed it… no oil pan leak… 130k jerking and hesitating again while getting off interstate.. same code this time I need a new motor
Engine burning too much oil, about 1/2 quart per month. Dealership said that there was a recall for the engine to be replaced but I must wait until my engine dies. I understand that we may be stranded if we take a long trip. Being the 2nd owner of this car, we never received the letter/notice of the recall. My husband is trying to talk to the Hyundai customer service rep in California to try to get permission to have the engine replaced sooner so that we can stop the over-burning of oil and not be stranded on the road. So far the rep is 5 days past due in calling us back. Can you help us? The car is available for inspection upon request. There were no warning lights indicating a problem only the soot accumlating in the tail pipe. Mu husband also observed blue smoke coming from the tail pipe when I was driving the car and he was following me in his car.
My 2016 Hyundai Sonata has an oil consumption problem it is using 1 qt of oil for every 532 miles which is causing it to lose power and stall out. The first time it happened I was driving on the highway through a tunnel which put myself in danger of being struck by other vehicles traveling at high speeds I had my car towed to the dealership where they told me it was because my starter had a dead spot in it and then on further investigation they said my car had no oil in it even though I had had my oil changed recently and per manufacturer specs I am supposed to go 5000 miles between oil changes I had to get my timing chain replaced which cost me $3000 dollars and start an oil consumption test after I completed that I was told to have combustion cleaning done because that would fix the problem and then entered into another oil consumption test and my car is still using 1 qt of oil every 532 miles it still loses power while driving and acts like it wants to stall out the dealership advised me I need a full engine replacement and Hyundai has denied the claim twice I’m concerned for my safety while driving because of the issues with the engine
- HEV Overheat warning light came on - Engine overheat light came on - Message instructing to pull the car over immediately came on - OBD II codes P261F and P2600 were observed when the vehicle was scanned - There is a plethora of similar incidents listed for the Make/Model throughout online forums
I purchased a 2016 Hyundai Sonata 2.4L with the Theta II engine back in December 2016. I purchased it as a Hyundai Certified Pre-owned (CPO) vehicle, with the 10 year, 100,000 mi powertrain warranty. The car had approximately 36,000 mi on the odometer. Starting at about 60,000 mi on the odometer, I began to notice excessive engine oil consumption. The factory has made attempts to remedy the issue under the 10 year, 100,000 powertrain warranty coverage, but none have lasted more than 1,000 mi. After 1,000 mi of a "repair" service, the engine is back to consuming lots of engine oil. As a result, I have resorted to checking the dip every time I fuel up, and top off engine oil as it gets consumed. To my estimate, my oil consumption is between 200 to 300 mi per qt of oil consumed, which is well in excess of the factory acceptable levels of 400-500 mi per qt of oil consumed. Then, Hyundai USA's Customer Care's customer reps, case managers, and Hyundai National Managers all have told me in several occasions over the past two years that my car is either "out of warranty" (despite not yet having reached the 10 year, 100,000 mi mark, nor the extended 120,000 mi mark) or that Hyundai has never sold any Hyundai CPO cars with the 10 year, 100,000 mi powertrain warranty in the US, despite my sales records and owner's records indicating that my car came with the warranty. Hyundai is trying to breach its 10/100 powertrain warranty contract and trying to have me pay for the diagnostic and rep
My engine is experiencing excessive oil consumption, burning over 1 quart per 1000mi. Engine went into limp mode in December. I pulled into a service station and checked oil after engine cooled off, barely any oil on dipstick. Engine rattles when accelerating quickly. I have been to local dealership 6 times since December of 2022. Still unresolved.
The engine seized on my car while I was driving and the car stopped in the middle of the road. The safety of my daughter and I were put at risk. We could have been hit by oncoming cars. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. The Bob Bell Hyundai of Glen Burnie, MD, confirmed the engine seized. The vehicle has not been inspected by anyone other than Bob Bell. There were no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the failure prior to failure.
Burns excessive oil; Had oil changed less than 500 miles ago and have since had to add a quart of oil;
Car stopped on interstate.. jerking and loss power.. cylinder 3 went out with no warning… car just burning a lot of oil no oil on ground no check engine until car stopped on interstate
Catastrophic engine failure. The car stopped running/moving while driving. It has not been inspected by a dealer. All lights came on and car was violently shaking.
Knock Sensor, ECM, Engine stalling and loss of connection. Resulting in flashing engine light. Low acceleration. Power reduced to 40 and below Engine misfire.
Bought the car in November of 2022 after 2 weeks noticed it started burning oil. Now the engine has seized. Only have had car 5 months. Engine light came on before seizing.
The contact owns a 2016 Hyundai Sonata. The contact stated that while turning into a parking spot, the steering wheel seized. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who informed the contact that the steering shaft and steering column needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 36,000.
I got this car less than a year ago and immediately had issues within the 2nd day of getting it. Called the dealership and they had me take it in to a mechanic who fixed the issues. Since then I have had issues with this car consuming so much oil it's beyond ridiculous. This past Saturday night the car was being driven and all of a sudden the acceleration has become an issue. The car acts as if it doesn't want to go and hesitates. The dealership I got the car from no longer is in business and the loans were sold to another company and I'm not sure why no one is doing anything about the many issues with hyundai cars and their dangerous engine issues. When you're in traffic on the road with your children in the car and cars coming at you with full on speeds (here in alabama 70plus mph on interstate) it's very scary. Hyundai and kia need to take responsibility for these engines people are forking over thousands of dollars for. I'm not even a yr in and having several issues. Oil consumptions and issues with acceleration which seems that it leads to dead engines all the way around. We need help and we need it now. Please assist us with these issues. Thanks
RANDOMLY ONE DAY I WAS DRIVING ON THE INNERSATE, THE CAR STARTED JERKING AND THE ENGINE LIGHT WAS BLINKING THEN THE CAR STALLED. I GET MY CAR ROUTINELY MAINTENCED, THEN MY ENGINE WAS KNOCKING AND BLEW UP OIL OUT OF MY ENGINE. I HAVE MY OIL CHANGED EVERY 3,000 MILES, ALSO JUST HAD AN OIL CHANGE 3 WEEKS BEFORE THIS HAPPENED MY CAR JUST NOW HAS REACHED 100,000 AND THEN THE ENGINE BLOWS???? MULIPLE COMPLAINTS HAVE HAPPENED LIKE MINE AND THEY ARE DOING NOTHING

I am writing to report a safety issue with my 2016 Hyundai Sonata. The trunk is stuck closed and I am unable to open it using the key fob or the button on the trunk itself. Additionally, the button to fold down the rear seats is located inside the trunk, which makes it impossible to access the trunk from the rear seats. I have also tried using the keyhole on the trunk, but it does not work either. This is a serious safety issue that poses a risk to myself and others on the road. In the event of an emergency, I may need quick access to the trunk to retrieve necessary items or a spare tire, but due to the malfunction, I am unable to do so.
Please contact me for more details on issues and info on this dealership (Kendall Hyndai in Miami I know there something wrong with the way they’re responding to this very dangerous brake issue’s before it cause l serious injuries or. fatalities Took the car to dealership with an abs light on and stop check brakes light as well had total brake failure after running diagnostic the said I need to change the pressure source unit which cost me 4k after picking up vehicle and driving a few mile had same issue happen they said I need to change both rear bearing sensors which is another. 1500 iam feeling like this is a very serious issue and the are just charging me as much as they can . I called another dealer close by and found that they charged way less labor and parts fees example ~ was charged 289 an hour other dealer 190 plus less hour as well the parts were same issue paid 2159 for pressure source unit and other dealer was 1900 plus a shipping fee of 100 to get it faster the other dealer said the don’t charge for that in other words the dealer I went to Kendall Hyndai was way over charging for every aspect of my issue this unexceptable to me and should be looked into!!!! This more importantly is a dangerous problem when you lose breaks unexpectedly which could cause serious bodily harm to one self and the second part of the dealer charging way more than reasonable prices is also unbelievable and disturbing as well
ABS system lights up and stop car and check brakes flashes loss of brakes completely!!!!
Hello, I have reached out to Modesto Hyundai and consumer affairs since May of 2022. I have been shunned and told nothing is wrong. The message below was sent last year in May. I was turned away because I could not afford the diagnostic even though it was covered under a past warranty recall. I had to complain. A few months later I came up with the money and was told I was given the wrong information the first time. They kept the car for a week,, drove only 30 miles and said it was the battery. I recently had a oil change done at Hyundai in February 2023. They failed to mention the oil everywhere and said everything was fine. The engine stalls on a daily bases. The 2 prior oil changes one said they thought oil was leaking but didn't know from where the other said something was wrong with the oil pan. Also you can smell gas in the cab and the head and tail lights have been replaced 3x each in the last few months. "I have gotten no where with the Hyundai dealership here in my town. I was told I'd have to pay for a diagnostic to see if something is wrong before the vehicle could be checked to see if the engine is failing. I believe this car is a lemon and has stalled on several occasions. I recently had an oil change and was told their diagnostic came out clear yet the engine still acts up and will stall while driving. Will it take for my car to stall on railroad tracks and be hit by a train and killed before Hyundai fixes the issue? Women and children die in in faulty cars beca
Since the previous recall associated with the turn signal sometimes signaling in the wrong direction, I have noticed for months that when driving at night when the turn signal is on in either direction the lights function will start moving from on to auto to off causing the lights to turn off when signaling. This is very dangerous especially at night.
The vehicle consumes oil quickly.
I have 81345 miles on my car and I was driving on a long trip on a turnpike after 3 hours and approximately 150 miles of driving, the blinking check engine light came in my car and the engine lost power, I was unable to go past 50MPH in the posted speed limit of 70MPH. I had other 4 passengers in my car including 2 minors. had to tow it to Stoltz Hyundai of PA and the dealership told me it was low on oil and my car had 2 quarts of oil left which was unbelievable to me because I just had an oil change at 79123 Miles. I also had them replace my spark plugs at 79K miles. I was told by the dealership to perform an oil consumption test at a cost of approx. $400 and I was not covered under any kind of warranty as I am the second owner of the car. I have read online that there is a problem with the 2.4L Hyundai GDI engine of excessive oil consumption and nothing is done. the dealership is not helping either Hyundai. it's a clear problem with the Engine and I have proof of receipts for every recommended service performed on my car.
Car was leaking oil I reported to Hyundai and service repair shop had to take it back 3 times due to them neglecting to listen to me oil got into other parts and I had to get 7 things fix also after having back for 1 day the brakes and electric is not working properly engine also fails to accelerate correctly
The contact owns a 2016 Hyundai Sonata. The contact stated while driving 60 MPH, the vehicle made an abnormal sound. The contact veered to the side of the road before the vehicle ceased. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact was able to restart the vehicle and continued driving to his residence at low speed. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 131,000.
The contact owned a 2016 Hyundai Sonata. The contact stated while driving 2 mph, the vehicle seized and multiple warning lights were illuminated. The contact saw fire exiting from under the hood and under the vehicle. The contact was able to exit the vehicle safely before it was engulfed in fire. The fire department extinguished the fire but no fire report was filed. A police report was filed. The contact stated no one was injured nor sought medical attention. The vehicle was not drivable. The police officer deemed the vehicle a total loss. The vehicle was towed to the police department lot. The vehicle was not diagnosed. A dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.
Purchased car with just under 97000 miles. Was working terrific. Time for the first oil change and 2 miles after the change the car froze and went limp. Traveling 45 miles per hour it recorded a trouble code on my monitoring device. P0605 - ROM error and the car was dead. All lights had lit up on the panel and then it was off. Luckily was able to recover to the side and turn into a parking lot. Oil was low the night before and refiled before oil change. An additional code was recorded on Feb 12 P0128 Coolant Thermostat Malfunction. The selling dealer cleared the code and said the car was fine. I think there may be an additional issue here and why the oil was low.
The airbag light is on, indicating that the airbox is not operating and will not go off in case of an accident. All steering wheel controls also don't work so it's impossible to adjust settings using the steering wheel or to enter cruise control at all. Previous years of this same vehicle had clock spring recalls and this appears to be the same problem so I wonder if the other recalls should be extended to this year vehicle? thanks
Oil consumption issue. Car was driving funny and oil light blinked and then stopped. Checked the oil immediately and it was empty. Changed the oil and it was low within less than 100 miles. Could have blown up if I hadn’t noticed the light blink once and car acting funny. No warning and using way too much oil.
Check engine light came on, difficulty accelerating from a dead stop or going up an incline. I had it at to 2 different locations to be placed on a computer, code P0010 for intake (A) camshaft position actuator circuit. I had that replaced only to drive the car for a week and a half for the check engine light to come back on when accelerating up an incline and have the car almost come to a stop. New code, P0302 misfire #2 cylinder. All four spark plugs were replaced, a compression test was performed to confirm low compression on cylinder #2. Car is drivable, however check engine light will continue to come on because of the low compression but was told to baby the car as the engine should probably be replaced sooner than later and I don't have thousands of dollars for this fix. And last be not least, excessive oil usage.
I just drove up a small hill and then I had to accelerate to get onto the on-ramp to match the speeds of highway traffic. The engine shut off. no lights from the cluster gauge illuminated. had to really use my leg muscles to step on the brakes really hard to avoid a front collision. had to really use the muscles in my arms and hands to steer the steering wheel hard too. it felt like the loss of brakes and steering capabilities turned off and were really hard to use when the engine turned off for no apparent reason.
Engine is running out of oil after driving 200 to 300 miles. Dealer cannt find any oil leakage. I need help with this problem
My 2016 Hyundai Sonata (sport) with the 2.4 GDI theta II seized on me WHILE DRIVING down the interstate on April 14, 2022, no engine light, no warnings, nothing. It was extremely dangerous & also very scary. The car did this at 135,000 miles. I had my Sonata towed to a Hyundai service center after this happened. They did a diagnosis, confirming it needs an engine replacement due to connecting rod bearing failure. They sent in a Prior Approval request to Hyundai and Hyundai DENIED the engine replacement, due to not having Campaign 953 (knock sensor detection software) completed prior to bearing failure. (EVEN WITH having this sensor update done, it would NOT prevent the motor from failing, just tell you when it happened.) That software update wasn't going to save my engine, it was only designed so Hyundai had a LOOPHOLE to deny as many engine replacements as possible and not process these warranties the right and ethical way. They put a faulty engine in my car and it seized and failed at NO fault of my own. But the fault of Hyundai for allowing these vehicles with bad engines to be sold to innocent people who had no idea these engines were made to fail. Hyundai knew the Theta 2 engines were going to fail and STILL allowed these vehicles to be sold and NOT RECALLED knowing the dangers. That is wrong and unethical. It is crucial that these vehicles be RECALLED. Any engine liable to seize while driving 70+ mph on the interstate warrants a RECALL. They needed to be recalled long a
2016 HYUNDAI SONATA. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARD TO LACK OF SECURITY TRANSPONDER.
While driving home on my way from work, the car started to stall on the highway and slow down. A knocking sound began to come from under the hood and would speed up when I stepped on the gas. From the sound of it, it seemed like the engine was malfunctioning and yes it is available for inspection. My safety was put at risk because if the car was to stop in the middle of the highway, not only am I at risk of being in an accident but other people as well as we are all driving at high speeds. This problem has not yet been confirmed by a dealer but when I took it to a mechanic, I was told that it was a rod that's what's causing this, and though there are no recalls on this specific model (2016 Sonata Limited) there are other recalls on the hybrid model for a rod in the engine wearing out prematurely which is very similar to what is happening with my car. A check engine light turned on a few minutes prior to the incident but then turned off.
Burning oil at an alarming rate. No oil leaks. Had oil changed and 3 weeks later checked and it had about 2 quarts in it.
Pulled in driveway and putted out and wouldn't start. It is an internal engine issue. Possibly a rod issue
The contact owns a 2016 Hyundai Sonata. The contact stated that the vehicle was consuming an excessive amount of engine oil. The contact was constantly topping off the engine oil. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where an oil consumption test was performed, and the dealer determined that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The trunk panel latch in this vehicle has failed due to a broken trunk latch pawl. The trunk will not open even when pushing the emergency trunk release latch inside the trunk. This failure presents the risk of injury to an occupant locked inside the trunk. As such, the involved vehicle might not comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard no 401, "interior trunk release." A recall (Campaign 208) has already been placed on the 2016- 2018 Hyundai Sonata Hybrids due to this issue, but this particular VIN number is not covered under that recall. I have contacted Hyundai about this issue, and they will not repair or address this problem stating that although the model has had a recall issued, this particular VIN is not covered. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request
I’ve had this vehicle for exactly 6 months. First incident where I thought the company I bought it from lied to me because they said they topped off my oil. In reality it guzzles oil excessively, I paid $600 to get it cleaned out & add oil. 2nd incident my car shut off at a McDonald’s drive through, no indication of warning of shutting off until 30 seconds before all error codes on dash. 3rd incident as of 02/07/23 car completely out of oil when I had an oil change a month & a half ago. Had someone come & bring me oil & it seemed to get me a mile away to school, did my school stuff & then tried to get home (30 miles away). When trying to get home my car wouldn’t exceed 60mph and when I got to 62mph it was decreasing speed. After a few moments after noticing that, all error codes on dash came on and I thankfully was able to pull over on the freeway without being hit by anyone. My car completely shut down, called a tow truck, while I waited 3 hours for assistance. I was then notified(by the first shop I took it to) the next day that my motor is BAD & I’m lucky that I was able to pull off to the side of the road when I did. A week prior to the 3rd incident random chunks of painting ripped off my vehicle(on the top of my trunk, above the passenger door & on the back side of the passenger door). I had my vehicle towed a second time to the Hyundai dealership themselves and the towing company asked the color of vehicle/make and model and instantly said oh is it your motor? I was wei
My car idles very rough at times, and sometimes when idling, it dies out. At times it is difficult to even start as if it's not getting the electrical signal to the engine. Hyundai replaced the fuel pump, but that did not fix the problem, but cost $1,200. No warning messages. Two other automotive companies also did a diagnostic tests, but couldn't find the problem as it seems it has to be tested WHEN IT IS ACTING UP. It died on me far from home a week ago, but eventually restarted. I'm afraid to drive it especially at night as it died when idling at a light and almost didn't restart.
While driving the vehicle within the city the engine turned off in the middle of the intersection causing near miss in the middle of the intersection as other vehicle were trying to pass me because my vehicle stalled. After having to towed the vehicle it was found that the engine has seized which is why the vehicle stopped.
While driving on the highway my vehicle started making a very loud ticking noise and all of a suddenly my car stopped working. Due to being on the highway everybody was going high speeds which almost caused a serious accident. There were cars swerving everywhere. I truly thought I was going to be involved in a high-speed accident which would most likely cost me my life. The check engine light came on and smoke was coming out and the dash started throwing errors. One of the drivers came to my car and started yelling to get out because these cars have been catching on fire. I had to call a tow truck to tow my car over an hour back home which cost me quite a bit of money. After I got home I researched my vehicle and placed to VIN to find out there were 3 safety recalls, one that could cost my family their lives and I was never ever notified. When I called the customer care they didnt even have my information and had to input it all to create a case. They also could not give me a reason as to why I was not notified. They then made an appointment with the Hyundai nearest to me which by the way is an hour and twenty minutes. After disconnecting the call I received an email from that dealership stating my appointment was canceled. I called the dealership to figure out what was going on I've spoken to two different people before finally speaking with the manager of the department. Finally when I spoke with the manager he tried to inform me that my car was not under the recall and tha
The contact owns a 2016 Hyundai Sonata. The contact stated that while driving approximately 25 MPH downhill, the vehicle stalled. No warning light was illuminated. The contact was able to coast to the side of the road and had the vehicle towed by AAA. The dealer diagnosed that the engine had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired with a rebuilt engine. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 65,000.
In November, 2022 my car stalled on the expressway. The indicator, Hybrid trouble turn off engine(not exact wording),tried to turn back on after sitting, it came on there was a loud noise as I put it in drive. It was towed to Happy Hyundai ( The car was hit on expressway while waiting on the tow truck). [XXX] in the service department ensured me nothing was wrong, I reminded him that it shut off while in drive on the expressway. He had it inspected again, only to say they believed the hybrid system needed to be updated. It was updated and I was charged a service fee because no parts were needed, ([XXX] words) I was under the impression that my car is under warranty and any service under warranty would be no charge but because no part was needed. I had to pay. Not two (2) months later same thing happens....I had just gotten my oil changed at World Hyundai in Mattenson, IL. Driving in the express lane on the expressway. Lights come on to turn off engine again...... ONLY by the grace of God was I able to coast to the right to get on the shoulder, traffic was moving fast!!!! It was towed back over to Happy Hyundai on Cicero.Trying to explain to [XXX] (service department) was hard I did tell him the car was there for the same thing two (2)months ago.My life and my daughter's was put in jeopardy on both occasions. I transport my grandsons to and from daycare and school, they had been dropped off earlier(the thought of them being in the car when this happened is scary). My car can be
Burns oil at an extraordinary rate. Takes about 1-2 quarts every week. No leaks, I’m unsure what the cause is for the oil burning so fast but it’s not leaking because I’ve gotten it checked for leaks and there is not oil stains or puddles when the vehicle is parked.

NHTSA publishes every complaint as the owner wrote it and investigates only a fraction. Spelling, capitalisation and judgement are the filer’s own. What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
