Since I have owned this vehicle in 2022 I have had an issue with my second row seatbelt’s unhitching after they are lached. I brought this to the dealers attention and they told me they are fine as they are we’re not able to duplicate it and if I wanted them to look into it further and they didn’t find an issue I would have to pay out of pocket for their time. No it s so bad that several times throughout our drive they will just unlatch. This is a serious safely concern.

I am writing to formally submit a complaint regarding multiple ongoing and serious issues with my 2022 Hyundai Palisade. These issues not only diminish the performance and reliability of the vehicle but also raise significant safety and quality concerns. Below are the problems I have encountered: 1.Thermostat and Coolant System Defects: Like many other owners of the 2022 Hyundai Palisade, I have experienced problems with the thermostat and coolant system. My vehicle has exhibited signs of overheating, posing risks to the engine’s longevity and safety. 2.Radiator Leak: I have identified a radiator leak, which is troubling for a relatively new vehicle. This suggests a defect in the materials or assembly, as this should not be occurring under normal operating conditions. 3.Oil Pan and Filter Housing Issues: •The oil pan has developed a crack, which is highly unusual, especially since Hyundai has performed all of my vehicle’s oil changes. This raises concerns about part quality and service handling. •Additionally, I have noticed oil leaking from the oil filter housing. This leak not only raises concerns about engine performance but also indicates a potential flaw in the design or installation of the oil filter system. 4.Faulty Sensors: My vehicle’s sensors frequently activate without any nearby objects or obstacles. These false alerts are a serious distraction while driving and undermine the effectiveness of the car’s safety features. 5.Key Fob Malfunctions: While driving, I have

This has now happened 2 times now (once in the fall of 2024 and the other time was 2 or 3 weeks ago) to the driver side seatbelt. Before driving, I buckled and clicked my seat belt and while I was driving, the seat belt unclicked and unlocked on it's own. The first time this happened, I thought maybe I didn't secure it all the way, but when it happened a second time, I knew for sure I had fully buckled my seat belt and it unlocked on it's own. This is a huge safety concern. If I got into an accident and my seat belt became unlocked, I could be killed. And I am concerned about the other seat belts as well. I have 2 small children who are always in the car with either my husband or myself (or both of us). I am concerned that their seat belts could have the same issue. No warning lights went on and I have not had the seat belt inspected yet. I researched online and saw no recalls, so I wanted to make sure this was reported in case others are having the same issue. It's very concerning. If my vehicle is needed for inspection, I am happy to do so as long as I have another car to drive in the mean time. This is our only vehicle.

The seat belt in the rear right passenger seat became disengaged on 1/13/25 while driving. The alert indicating the belt had become unbuckled did alarm. This has happened repeatedly, including recently on 1/10/25 when the front passenger seat belt became disengaged while driving. Months after safety issue was first reported, the vehicle was taken to another dealership, Huffines Hyundai Plano, where the faulty seatbelt buckle was diagnosed and quickly replaced free of charge.

Seat belts will randomly unlatch. Mostly happens in the second row but does occasionally happen in the driver and passenger seat. My kids are normally in the second row and are aware of the issue. We always remind them to check the seat belts by pulling to make sure it is latched. The seat belts have unlatched even after the kids have pulled and verified they are latched which is pretty scary. We will be just driving down the road when the seat belts unlatch. Luckily we have not been in an accident in this vehicle. Afraid the seat belts would not help.

I have had two seat belts in this vehicle stop latching and come unlatched while the car was in motion. The first one was the middle row passenger side and the most recent one was the driver seat. This is extremely unsafe and I am very nervous for all of the other seat belts in this car. Both times I have been told his isn't a know issue and that they would be replaced by warranty. I am now finding out from searching online that this is being investigated.

The seatbelt latches are not always reliable. We have only noticed this with the driver’s side seatbelt specifically during cold weather. We do not have a lot of back seat passengers not in car seats; therefore, cannot speak to the reliability of the back seat. We bought our car in 2022 and this issue started in 2023. So far, it is worse this winter than it was last year. It will take a couple of times to latch and will occasionally unlatch later down the road. I am concerned for the safety of the driver if an accident were to occur.

I was driving along the feeder road entering the on-ramp of the highway, going about 45 mph, when I heard a loud explosion coming from inside my vehicle. I was obviously startled and my first thought was maybe my kids left a soda bottle in the car and the pressure caused the bottle to explode. It was then I noticed broken glass all over the interior of my vehicle, as well as on my person. It was a clear, sunny day, about 75 degrees, so no extreme weather. There were no vehicles ahead of me, behind me or on either side of me. When I got to a stopping point, I searched my vehicle thoroughly thinking something must have come through the glass and shattered it. But I found nothing in my vehicle that would have come from outside and caused this to happen. While taking photos of everything, I noticed the glass that was left appeared to be bowed upwards instead of inward. It was then I realized whatever happened did not come from outside of my vehicle. I started looking things up online and realized the "exploding sunroof" was actually a very common issue happening to many other people's vehicles. Why a recall on this serious safety issue has not been issued is baffling. I could have been in an accident due to the startling nature of the incident, I could have been cut with shards of glass. Thank God my children were not in the car with me at the time as most of the glass went to the back seats where they would have been sitting. Prior to this happening there were no issues with my

In Sept. of 2023 I had my routine maintenance on my vehicle, oil change.at Tempe Auto Nation Hyundai. My drivers side 3rd row headrest was not staying up and needed to be replaced. I also mentioned to my extremely rude service agent Jake that my vehicle also had oil dripping coming from under the rear. I allowed him to do the oil change but not the headrest. I transferred location to have my vehicle serviced to Camelback Hyundai. My headrest was replaced by Camelback Hyundai. I also mention the oil leak to my service rep. Steve. I was also told that the vehicle was given an inspection. That I would need tires soon. My vehicle didn’t have 25000 miles on it. I purchased the vehicle new. It was also pulling to the right. The pulling was so bad I purchase 4 new tires. Costing over $700. The next day I took the vehicle to get an alignment, only to find out that my shocks/ struts are completely bad and needed to be replaced. I researched the issue with my Hyundai Palisade to see if there had been any recalls. It appears Hyundai is aware of the issue with the defective shocks. In April 2022, we purchased a new 2022 Hyundai Palisade from a dealership due to persistent issues with our previous Hyundai Santa Fe, which had ongoing engine problems and recalls. After multiple unsuccessful repairs and software updates on the Santa Fe, we decided to trade it in for the Palisade. Since the purchase, the Palisade has undergone over ten warranty-related repairs. In early 2023, an oil consumption test revealed significant warranty concerns, leading the dealership to keep the vehicle for additional diagnostics. This process lasted nine months and included a full engine replacement. During this time, my husband filed a complaint with Hyundai Corporate, seeking a lemon law buyback or an equivalent trade-in. Hyundai Corporate denied our request, stating that we did not qualify under the lemon law and refusing to buy back or offer a fair trade-in for the vehicle. In June 2024, after nearly a year of repairs, we retrieved the vehicle, only to experience severe issues shortly afterward. The Palisade began jerking and shaking on the highway, and the check engine light came on. The dealership identified a faulty mass air flow sensor and ordered parts for its repair. They assured us it was safe to drive until the repair was completed. However, the next day, the vehicle displayed the same issues. A diagnostic at Auto Zone revealed problems with both the air flow sensor and the fuel injector, indicating unsafe driving conditions. We returned the vehicle to Hyundai College

The forward safety breaking in this model is going to kill someone, hopefully not me as I am careful to manually disable it every time I start the car. Otherwise it applies the breaks at dangerous moments. Most often it happens when trees overhang the road, sometimes it is overhead road signs. I am not always sure what the cause is but having my breaks applied hard in the middle of merging multi lane highways is most definitively dangerous. I understand that on the 2023 model this can be permanently disabled so I suspect Hyundai is well aware of the problem. This problem has occurred to me at least a dozen times, and as I said I try to be very careful to disable it everyone I start the car.

During normal course of driving, child safety lock begins clicking. At random times for a varied amount of time between 5 seconds to 20 seconds. I can turn off the clicking by turning off the child safety lock. If I turn back on the child safety lock, the clicking may or may not resume. This is being documented on some online forums with others experiencing the same. Our safety has yet to be tested with this issue as my son is harnessed in and is only [XXX] old, but we are about to move into a booster seat. I am concerned he may be grown enough to have better access to the door and its settings with us moving him into his next seat size. The dealer has confirmed the problem and changed the "child lock switch" but the issue returned within a week. Just before turning in the car to the dealership for fixing this (later to be found unsuccessful), the child safety lock failed to a level where it triggered a dashboard warning about it. Since the "switch" has been replaced I have not seen a warning notification on the dashboard. This has been an ongoing issue for a couple of years now. I was driving down a road with 50mph speed limit when a few of my dash lights began to come on and then go off. Then about 2minutes later, all the dash lights came on, my display screen went black, my power steering wheel froze up. I safely pulled over to a parking lot. Turned the car off. And it wouldn't start back up. I took it to the Jim Click Hyundai in Tucson to get it diagnosed. The alternator was diagnosed as faulty, therefore killing my battery. This is an extremely unsafe circumstance for my 2 year old car to be going through. I cannot believe that this happend. I had to pay for a new battery at the dealership. Now not even 2 months later... my car wouldn't start. I waited 10minutes, it turned on, but it looked like it did a factory reset. I will be contacting the dealership...again. But this must be looked into further. I can't believe a 2 year old car would be having these types of problems.

A very loud noise that startled my wife and me while driving. With no traffic on the road i was able to safely pull over and inspect the sunroof/damage. It left a semi round hole of shattered missing glass approximately twelve (12) inches in diameter. I then drove immediately to the nearest Hyundai dealer (Hyundai North - Covington LA). There service tech inspected it and said this issue has been happening often, but it is not covered under warranty, therefore, I would need to file an insurance claim to fix it.

I had the driver-side wiper replaced in November 2023 due to a recall and have had an issue 3x since then. Twice, snow had accumulated under the wiper arm while driving and caused the wiper motor to stop. That is the exact reason for the recall but it continues to happen regardless. Then the other night while driving 70 on a freeway in heavy rain with wipers on full speed, the driver wiper started hitting the left edge of the windshield a few swipes, slowed down for a few swipes, then stopped completely in the lower position. Had to get off at the next exit as all attempts wouldn't get them working again. Two days later I was able to get into the dealership for a quick "tightening of the bolt" to get the wipers functioning again. The dealership said they knew exactly what the problem was due to so many people having this issue with needing the bolt tightened because it must have worked its way loose. The motor must be too weak and the replacement wiper arm has not remedied the occurrence, leading to some very hazardous situations.

The car had no warnings, inspection not due anytime soon but suddenly it started having blockage while driving(when it switches from one gear to next). It basically became non-drivable at any speed. Upon calling Hyundai service center, initially they were giving appointment 1 month away. Finally, they gave an appointment earlier, took the car and they suspect it’s a transmission problem and they have cars with same problems coming in and that there is difficulty in getting this part due to shortage and lot of similar complaints. This looks like a problem with the newest model as well with 10k miles on it and it can take even 3 months for us to get back our car. The point being it’s a new car, parts not available from manufacturer, and service center unable to provide an ETA on when it will be fixed. Any help is greatly appreciated.

NHTSA publishes every complaint as the owner wrote it and investigates only a fraction. Spelling, capitalisation and judgement are the filer’s own. What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
