Autodim headlamps are too sensitive and not usable. They autodim for standard road signs and any object.

Adaptive cruise isn’t smooth. Accelerates and deaccelerates constantly when following another vehicle.

Wireless cell phone charger doesn’t work. Light just blinks and the phone never charges.

After pulling into my son's driveway that only has a slight downward grade, I put my Honda Ridgeline into park, shutoff the engine and then exited the vehicle. I took only a step by the driver's side mirror when the vehicle rolled back about six inches. I immediately got back into the vehicle and started it up to make sure it was in park. Both indicators on the dash and the center consol button showed the vehicle was in park. I then set the emergency brake. This incident was reported to my dealer on 2/15/24. They found no codes stored and no concerns with the transmission. They stated" advised customer vehicle may roll back until the parking brake pawl engages. This is normal operation of the transmission."

Automatic headlight dimming does not function properly. In automatic mode it rarely turns on the high beam lights. If they are on anything bright such as a reflection from a road sign or bright building lights on the side of the road turns off the high beams. After they go off they rarely turn back on. I now only use them manually.

The incident with my 2022 Honda Ridgeline Black Edition occurred while driving on the interstate from Minneapolis back to my home in Illinois (Chicago suburbs). While taking an exit ramp to a different interstate I slowed down before the turn and then, when accelerating to merge onto the other interstate, my Ridgeline "check engine" light began flashing and the vehicle began to limp along at a maximum speed of ~40MPH. I quickly pulled off to a parking lot and arranged for a tow truck for the next day, as it was very late in the evening and very cold. The next morning, I went to meet the tow truck at the parking lot, and I started up my Honda Ridgeline with no issues (and no check engine light). It was then that I found a message board conversation titled “Check engine light flashing after freeway driving” on the internet [XXX] ) and discovered this issue had been occurring with other Ridgelines in similar conditions - i.e., long drives in cold weather where the driver slows down and then accelerates. In all cases, it seems that simply turning off the vehicle and re-starting a few minutes later fixes the problem, but not before you encounter a potentially dangerous situation with a disabled car on the road. On [XXX] I took my Ridgeline in for service at my local Honda dealership (where I had purchased the vehicle in 2022) and they were unable to find any issues or error codes stored (no error codes being stored seems to be the common occurrence with other drivers who have had

Around 25,000 miles front brakes started making screeching noise with regular stopping. I am not a hard breaker. Rotors according do the dealership have developed hot spots. Honda has changed to a coated rotor which cannot be turned. I also have a 2019 Honda ridgeline that has the non coated rotors and have had no problems with front brakes.

Auto high beams do not work properly, had a road rage incident with another driver as my high beams did not turn off, tye other driver was annoyed I was driving with high beams on.

The automatic high beam system is dangerous. When active, the system frequently blinds oncoming drivers because the high beams remain active.

The auto headlight dimming is not functioning properly and blinds oncoming traffic quite frequently. This seems to be a known issue when investigated. It is a feature sold with the vehicle as standard equipment on this trim level. It is marketed as a convenience to assist with dimming if the operator misses the opportunity to dim for oncoming traffic. If I engage this feature, it rarely dims, and I am routinely flashed. It is concerning for the safety of the opposing vehicles, as well as road rage that could develop from not dimming for the oncoming drivers.

When traveling on a dark road at night the auto high beam feature of the vehicle will dim the headlights when there is nothing around (no lights, no cars, etc) and it will also fail to reactivate the high beams after passing by a vehicle with their headlights on . This feature is utterly useless and is certainly a safety hazard as the high beams cannot be used in the auto mode because their function is sporadic and non-responsive to the surroundings.

The automatic high beam feature frequently does not dim with oncoming traffic and disengages for reflections such as road signs.

Vehicle automatically slams on brakes, shakes steering wheel out of hands, and won't take throttle causing me to loose control of the vehicle frequently. I does it at 75 mph with no other cars within 10 miles or at 50 mph. All with no other cars within miles. My family will not ride in vehicle cause scared because of un safe technology. I do not feel safe driving this Honda vehicle with this bad technology.

Was stopped at a traffic light and idle-stop had engaged. Released brake and vehicle failed to restart. Multiple attempts to restart before it actually started. Many dash indicators were lit, but I was too frantic to notice which. Was in heavy traffic and it was very unsettling. Only time this has happened, but I feel like it will repeat. Have not been to dealer, but I will.

The auto high beam head light function on the 2022 Honda Ridgeline does not work as expected and is a safety issue. They do not always dim for oncoming vehicles therefore "blinding" the person in the oncoming vehicle. This could potentially cause an accident. Please note they will sometimes dim from glare on a road sign but not always from an oncoming vehicle. Basically the functionality is erratic and does not work as expected. This has occurred since I purchased the vehicle in 5/2022 but I do not drive at night that often but was recently on an out of town trip that required me to drive at night. I still own the vehicle and it is available for inspection if needed. When taken to the dealership on 5/1/2023, Priority Honda Roanoke indicated no codes were returned and they said nothing was wrong with them. I was also told there was nothing else the dealership could do about them and I would need to contact Honda directly. I have opened a case with Honda, it is case 14251538.

On 08/23/23 multiple safety warning lights activated on my dashboard. I took my vehicle to my Honda Dealer and after two days it was returned and I was told that it was repaired. The next day while driving the exact same thing occurred and I noticed that the vehicle was not accelerating normally and the brake warning light activated although there were no cars or objects in front of me. I returned to the dealership who kept my vehicle for 5 days returning it to me and telling me that they could not duplicate the error. I drove my car approximately ten miles from the dealership and all of the warning lights again activated and the vehicle was not accelerating as it had prior to this problem. I returned to the dealership and they now have the vehicle and explained that they will contact the Honda Help line.

Driving and auto brake engaged once in the turn lane at a light and the other time while driving downhill.

2022 Honda Ridgeline, problems started around 8K miles. When traveling at or above 45 mph and slowing down to a complete stop at stop sign and lights, steering wheel would shake aggressively and at times pull the truck to the left/right. Took it to dealer and they said they didn't notice anything wrong and could be "just how the truck is". Please help!

Wireless phone charger has never worked. There is no fix forthcoming from Honda.

I was driving back from Colorado celebrating my best friend from childhood having his first wedding. When the moonroof exploded while on was driving along I-70 East, I was about 5 miles away from my hotel in Columbia, MO. This is my halfway point on my long road trip out to Denver, CO. The loud noise startled me, as I was traveling 75 mph eastbound on the interstate. I checked all of mirrors and surroundings, I didn’t see anything that happened at that time. So, I continued to my hotel 5 miles up the road. I got to my hotel and parked in the parking lot. As I got out of the vehicle, I close the door and hear a noise that is not normal for a typical door close. I opened and shut the door a few more times, then I walked around the vehicle to see if there was any damage from the loud noise that I heard while driving along I-70. I look all around the vehicle, then finally I notice the glass on the moonroof didn’t look right. This is when I noticed that the moonroof had shattered. So, I use my cooler that I brought with me for the trip and look at the moonroof at a better viewing angle. I see that the glass has shattered. This seemed very unusual since I did not see any dents or scratches from any possible object that could have caused this. At this moment I reflected about my time driving on I-70 when that loud noise occurred moments earlier. The noise sounded like a gun shot that was very close by. I remember that I was not near any cars close to me, and there was no underpass n

Traveling at 50mph when warning lights started, AWD malfunction, auto idle malfunction, gear shift malfunction, then warning says shift to N and power shut down, coasted to a stop. Once stopped smoke coming from engine, unable to open hood (to hot). Within 2 min flames were coming around hood fire extinguishers not helpful to stop flames. Fire department arrived within 15 min to extinguish.

The heated steering wheel over heated causing the leather on the steering wheel to bubble up on the right hand side. The steering wheel got so hot when I was driving I could not hold it. I had to pull over and let the steering wheel cool off. There were no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to it over heating. This happen Nov. 2022. The dealer said I need a new steering wheel. It is May 2023 and I am still waiting on a new steering wheel.

The contact owns a 2022 Honda Ridgeline. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the TPMS warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who informed the contact that the tire pressure module needed to be replaced; however, the part to do the repair was not yet available. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 2,500.

This vehicle has automatic headlights which turn off and on plus are supposed to automatically dim the headlights when oncoming vehicles approach. They automatic headlight dimming feature not only doesn't work properly, they go to bright (high beam) when cars approach, instead of dimming. I have taken it to a Honda Dealer twice for repair. They said they could not duplicate the issue but admit they have no real test for this problem. This is a serious safety issue which Honda can't seem to bother with.

After driving approximately 2.5 hours at 70 miles per hour, I took an exit off of the interstate and stopped at the stoplight at the bottom of the exit ramp. After about 1 minute the light turned green and I accelerated sharply and turned left. The Check Engine Light started to flash and the vehicle experienced a significant loss of power. I was unable to accelerate to match the speed of the traffic around me and created a hazard while attempting to find a safe place to pull off the road. After about 1/4 of a mile I was able to pull off the road. I shut off the vehicle and waited about 5 minutes. I restarted the vehicle and the light didn't return and it had full power, so I completed my trip. Additional info, outdoor temp was 34 degrees F. I was driving into a 25 MPH headwind during the 2.5 hours of internet travel. I took the vehicle to the dealer as it is under warranty and has about 18,000 miles. Dealer removed intake manifold, removed water that had collected in the intake manifold and reassembled. Vehicle computer didn't store any codes. Dealer was unable to explain how the water got into the intake manifold or provide any satisfactory reason or logic as to why it would not occur again under the same conditions. My concern is that there is some design flaw inherit to the air intake of this engine that allows condensation to collect under some conditions and causes a misfire that puts it into a limp mode that diminishes performance until the engine is cycled off/on. The automatic high/low beams do not work properly. The do not go to high beam when they are suppose to and they do not dim when they are suppose to. Any reflective device along the road will cause them to either dim or brighten. When an approaching vehicle is coming toward me the lights will not dim like they should and sometimes I will have to do it manually. This is a safety problem not only for myself but also for oncoming vehicles. I have had it to the dealership 5 times, they have replaced the light sensor at the base of the windshield and the camera behind the rearview mirror and have told me that this should resolve the problem but it has not as they continue to malfunction. There are numerous reports on line about the ridgeline having this problem and so far the dealership has not been able to fix it. They know they have the problem but they don't seem concerned about it. I have not had the police or my insurance company look at the problem yet. I can though if requested. There are no warning lights that come on to tell you of this problem; only the flashing headlights of oncoming vehicles to let you know.

After driving for approximately 275 miles in winter temperatures but with normal driving conditions, upon taking a banked turn the check engine light flashed while the engine lost power and caused the car to begin shaking. I pulled over and was able to pull diagnostic codes from the vehicle. The vehicle reported that two cylinders were misfiring. Upon restarting the car the vehicle operated normally. I brought this vehicle in to the dealer who was familiar with the problem but responded that Honda has no resolution yet. This problem seems to affect multiple years and models of Honda vehicles (using the 3.5L engine).

The auto high beam function does not work properly, and in fact can be dangerous. With system on it continuously and constantly goes back and forth between low and high beam with no traffic in sight. However, more dangerous it has on two occasions turned high beams on when traffic is almost upon me causing potential safety issue and road rage. I have turned the system off, and I am using manually right now. However, paid for this system, and see many others complaining about the same issue.

Auto dimming headlights do not function as intended. At night the headlights will go from regular to bright and back again with no other vehicles on the road. System appears to be confused by road sign reflections. Also does not always go from bright to dim when encountering oncoming vehicles.

On two seperate occasions now my 2022 Ridgeline, which has less than 5000 miles, has lost considerable power when attempting to merge onto a highway and had the check engine light start flashing. This has required me to quickly pull over off the road as I was merging and unable to get my speed up. When this occurred, I had been driving on a highway for about an hour and was merging from the highway onto a larger interstate. The temperature outside was approximately 20 degrees F and my gas tank was above 3/4 tank that was purchased 2 days earlier.

Per high temperature 90 or more degrees windshield got broken. No explanation and rare this is not normal if the quality of front windshield (cristal ) is a good quality. I reported Honda and no response. Manufacturer should investigate as is a safety problem.

When the truck is idling, I smell fumes of exhaust and occasionally fuel. These fumes are more pronounced in the area of the front passenger seat. I haven't noticed any visual leaks from the fuel system.

The truck randomly smells very strong of raw fuel in the cabin and sometimes exhaust as well. This typically happens more after refueling as well as after 30+ minute drives and then idling at a stop light for example. There are no visual leaks of the fuel system. The smell seems to be coming from the passenger side of the engine bay.

Driving on interstate in 10 degree F weather. Exited interstate on exit ramp. Stopped at end of ramp. Light turned green so I accelerated and the check-engine-light began flashing, engine shook a little bit, and I could no longer drive over 30mph. Multiple people behind me honking, flashing lights, etc to try and make me go faster when I couldn't. When stopped at a red light and idle engine auto-stop engaged the vehicle displayed battery warning light and a “Shift to Park” message on display. Vehicle had to be shifted into park and restarted manually before it could move. Your Questions: 1. Battery/Auto-stop-start system. Sure, you can inspect it. 2. Vehicle was non-responsive and immobile at a busy intersection. 3. The vehicle had been at freeway speeds for 30+ minutes, so low voltage shouldn't have been an issue. It was below-freezing at the time, however.

This vehicle randoml activates the forward collision warning braking system. Cannot deactivate. ACC will not follow vehicle in front at selected distance. The Honda will accelerate at high speed until right on bumper of vehicle in front and then slam on brake. It will then drift back quite a ways and then repeat. Extremely dangerous to us Honda dealer acknowledges issue and say there is no fix for these. Auto Hi beams are a joke. Random on/off. Again a dangerous feature to try to use. These are not one time events as portrayed in Additional Details section

2022 Ridgeline is only a few months old. After driving one day for ~100 miles on interstate, then exiting interstate to get on on-ramp going in other direction, the vehicle suddenly displayed a flashing "check engine" light, has noticeably reduced power, and an odd-sounding engine. I was able to slowly drive to a nearby gas station where I restarted the vehicle and the symptoms went away. I had my local Honda dealer look at the vehicle and they were unable to find any error codes. Their response was essentially "no code, no problem" and advised me to drive it until something goes wrong again, and shows something they will diagnose. This vehicle has less than 8,000 total miles and has had its initial service done by Honda dealer, as well as another bill of health when I just took it in for this engine issue. I'm reporting this case in particular because I'm very concerned that this will happen while driving on the highway and be a serious safety issue with the drastically reduced power. Perhaps most importantly, I am reporting this because there are forums full of other people with newer Honda Ridgelines experiencing the exact same issue - repeatedly - without any acknowledgement from Honda.

Automatic high beams on this vehicle are unreliable and constantly flash oncoming traffic. High beams will turn on and off in succession multiple times. The system is unusable and potentially dangerous for oncoming traffic.

The automatic high beams randomly come on when cars are approaching and or cars are in front which has resulted in a few very upset drivers in the vehicles that end up getting the high beams in their eyes or rear view mirror.

When I activate the auto high beam feature on my Ridgeline, it does not ever work properly. The high beams will go off almost immediately once a road sign reflects on the sensor. This feature is totally unreliable and is actually a safety hazard because of how often it deactivates when on the roadway even though there is no traffic coming in either direction. It rarely reactivates when traveling on the highway.

The automatic high beam does not work. When activated it will not turn on the high beams on a dark road with no other lights in view. I had a 2019 Ridgeline that worked fine, so I know how to use the feature.

The Honda Sense forward facing radar that causes the dash to show BRAKE and also brake on your behalf is poorly implemented and comes on in varying conditions... from two lane roads to no cars on the road at all. I live in an area with many two way windy roads and any car coming towards you, the car, believes is an issue and the BRAKE warning light, a sound and a quiver of the steering wheel occurs. There has been two incidents where there is no other car on the road and the Ridgeline shows the BRAKE warning light and then actually braked the car heavily. If there was a car behind me, it would have caused an accident. Honda needs to remove this feature altogether until it can handle all road conditions. Three separate service advisors, (Shingle Springs, Folsom and Santa Monica) have heard multiple complaints and issues and have their own personal experience with this problem in Honda/Acura's.

Honda Wireless Charger does not work. I took it to the dealer, and the dealer confirmed it was not working and that Honda knows that this is an issue. This truck was bought new from the dealer and Honda knew this is an issue.

The automatic high beam headlights do not operate correctly. When in auto mode, on a dark road with no other light sources, they will go to high mode for a second or two and drop back to low beam for no reason at all. they keep doing that at random intervals. They will go from low beam and go to high mode when cars are approaching within 100 yards. pretty sure the other car does not like that. they work fine when by passed by placing them in high mode by pushing turn signal stick forward. it's in the auto mode when they don't act right. i took the '22 to Couer D'Alene Honda and they checked them and said they were working as they were supposed to. this concerns me since i had a '18 Honda ridgeline and they did work fine in auto mode. i feel this is a safety issue for me and others on the road at night.

Purchased a new Honda RTL-E Ridgeline 3 days ago... Traded in a 2017.. Both have auto high beam feature.. The 2022 is erratic, at times fails to operate (engage the high beams even after surpassing the 45 MPH cut in speed. In addition to that, the high beams fail to remain on even when there is no oncoming traffic or fail to disengage etc.. This is not caused by ambient outside light or reflections off road signage, as I know how they worked and worked very well on my 2017.. The defective system create a major safety hazard as they almost always fail to turn off with oncoming traffic.. So drivers are blinded by High Beams and the driver of the Ridgeline expects them to turn off, hesitates expecting them to work before they realize they are not going to turn off... This not only impacts the on coming driver, but could be a good road rage problem, cause an accident and lastly cause the driver to be issued a ticket. if the oncoming vehicle, is coming around a bend and there is a perfect alignment of the two vehicles they must turn off, but they don't , blinding the oncoming driver. They do not work period and are a serious safety hazard.. Honda needs to resolve this ASAP..

I purchased this truck in early September 2022 brand new. I was towing my ATV RZR on my trailer. Total weight about 3000 lbs. The truck tow is rated at 5000lbs. I noticed the trailer was acting or moving around abnormally. When I arrived home I noticed the trailer hitch was bent down about 45 degrees. In examining the hitch I noticed it had broken away from the frame. The hitch or receiving end was verily attached to the truck. With further examination and looking at a similar truck's hitch I discovered the hitch had never been welded from the factory. It is a miracle the trailer I was pulling did not brake free and kill another driver on the road. In the photos I am uploading one is how the hitch should look (photo 133526) the others are photos of my hitch. If you compare the good hitch to my hitch you will see there is no weld around the receiving tube.

Auto high beams consistently fail to turn on or off at appropriate times, rendering them unreliable and unsafe. I was forced to disable them because of several incidents in which they failed to stay on while driving on dark rural roads or failed to turn off with oncoming traffic.
