While driving in Arizona on I 10 at normal speeds, the sunroof glass exploded. No overpasses. No ice. No big trucks close by. The interior cover was closed at the time. Mileage at the time was 6600 approximately. Car was purchased new last summer in Utah. Could not figure out what happened at first until we stopped the car at an exit. Glass was bulged up with the middle missing.
2025 Honda CR-V complaints

Wife was rear ended by tractor trailer while sitting still going in the back of another vehicle and no airbags deployed causing wife to hit head on steering wheel.
There was a loud "pop" above the car while driving. The sunroof had shattered. No object or other damage on the car present.
The drivers side wiper does not sweep the whole windshield. It stops short of the upright pillar (at the top of the sweep) by several inches. This extends the natural blind spot (created by the pillar) an extra few inches. When the wipers are put in service mode, it comes to where it should be, but only does this in service mode, not when actually using. The dealer inspected it and suggested the wiper arm could be repositioned. After attempting this, with even with the smallest possible adjustment, it sent the wiper smacking in to the pillar and had to be put back in it's original position. There are no system warnings about a problem with the wipers.
The vehicle experienced an unintended acceleration in which it unexpectedly increased speed without any input from the driver. At no point was the gas pedal depressed, yet the vehicle accelerated on its own. This sudden and uncommanded movement occurred without warning and was inconsistent with normal vehicle operation, leaving the driver with no intentional control over the acceleration. Following this incident, the manufacturer was contacted; however, despite ongoing attempts to communicate over the past six months, there has been no meaningful correspondence or demonstrated urgency from the manufacturer to investigate or resolve the issue.
While driving my 2025 Hybrid CRV with 4K miles in a light rain, the wiper stopped going all the way to the edge and now only goes 90% of the way up no matter the setting. In a heavy rain, it will go 96%, and in accessory mode it goes up 100% of the way. I took it to the dealership and they said that this range of motion was standard, then showed me a video they took of a new CRV they had on the lot whose range of motion was slightly better (~95%). I pointed out the clearly visible grime line from when it was working correctly and how in accessory mode it goes up to the line. I also have the anecdote that in the summer I used it to clear pollen and it always went up all the way. They continued their stance that the operation was fine. Since it goes all the way up in accessory mode, I told them it must be a computer issue and asked them if they could reset/troubleshoot it. Since they had put off looking at this issue for the two days they had it at the dealership, they said they would need to address it at another time or keep it a third day. I just took it back and scheduled another appointment, as I need it for work. I am taking it in again, but from my post on the CRV sub-reddit many other new honda owners are experiencing the same issue. At approximately 6:00 PM on December 29, 2025, I was parking my vehicle in the Montague Foods parking lot at 8761 Ferry St in Montague, MI 49437. As I was pulling into the parking space, I had firm pressure on the brake pedal and was not pressing the accelerator. Despite braking, the vehicle suddenly lurched forward unexpectedly. The vehicle struck the parked car in front of me with such force that it moved the large SUV, bounced off, and continued to lurch forward repeatedly. While I was actively trying to stop the vehicle with the brake pedal, it continued moving forward, ran over a curb, and behaved in an uncontrolled, bucking manner. I would describe the experience as similar to a bucking bronco. During the incident, I was yelling, “What is happening?!?” due to the unexpected and frightening behavior of the vehicle. At no point during this incident was the accelerator pedal pressed. No warning lights, alerts, or messages appeared on the dashboard before or during the event that I can recall. Both my vehicle and the parked vehicle sustained damage. Fortunately, there were no injuries. This incident raises serious concerns about the braking, acceleration, or vehicle control systems in this model. I believe this represents a significant and serious safety risk not only to the driver of the vehicle but also pedestrians and other vehicles. I am afraid to drive the car again. I respectfully request that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration investigate this issue t
While pulling into a parking spot and coming to a stop, the brakes failed and the car abruptly accelerated forward despite attempts to continue braking. The car proceeded over the curb and raised hilly grassy median and only came to a stop when it collided with a parked vehicle on the other side of the median. I, as the driver, had no control of the vehicle and could have potentially hit a pedestrian in this parking lot. There was a person seated in the car that my car impacted and she could have been hurt as well as myself and my passenger. All of this was reported to the community service officer who came to the scene, as well as to the Coggin collision center, Coggin Honda dealership and my insurance company. My insurance company has sent an appraiser to the collision center but he did not investigate the causative factors, only the body damage so far. There were no warning lamps or messages and the airbags did not deploy despite frontal impact. The car is currently at the Honda Collision center and would be available for inspection.
The windshield wiper stops at a variable distance form the end of the windshield on the driver's side. Sometimes several inches form the edge, not wiping all the way and at times it impacts the A pillar. This affects safety in rainy weather.
The braking system failed. As I was attempting to park my car, with my foot on the brake, the vehicle suddenly lurched forward unexpectedly, hitting the parked car in front of me. Both my vehicle and the parked vehicle were damaged. If anyone had been in the car's path, they would have been injured. My vehicle bounced off the parked car and continued lurching forward while I actively tried to stop the car by applying the brake. At no point during this incident was the accelerator pressed. No warning lights, alerts, or messages appeared on the dashboard before or during the event. Have not yet taken my vehicle to the Honda dealer.
When driving on the highway and making small adjustments to keep straight, the steering system will get stuck and suddenly jerk. This causes you to overcorrect and you have to steer back the other direction. This issue has continued getting worse and now affects the car at speeds >20 MPH. This used to only occur at >60 MPH.
On [XXX] I was stopped in the red light behind a car in the New York City suddenly my car moved I applied the brake hard but almost hit the car in front. The message in the dashboard were -Depress brake pedal apply parking brake, brake system problem brake performance may be reduced, brake hold system problem apply brake when stopped, vechile stability assist system problem reduce traction and handling,Hill decent control system problem apply brake when descending, adaptive cruise control system problem, collision mitigation braking system problem, low speed braking control problem.I turned off the car and start again and it worked. This was the first time I was able to take the pictures it happened before as well but I was unable to take picture. After that I took the car to Hillside honda service center I showed them the message of the dashboard which was on my phone. The car was in the service center for two days they said that my car was fine at that time the message of the dashboard was only in my phone. On month of Sep and Oct I took the car again to the Hillside Honda service center with same issue and after staying two days in the service center they said my car was fine. After that I press braking hold and continued my work.On [XXX] and [XXX] same problem occurred I was able to take pictures.Beginning of Nov I was driving at the highway suddenly the message pops up I was sure that the brake wouldn’t work, Push the emergency lights, changed the lane and I was lucky that there w
It does not detect pedestrians walking by side of vehicle very close and neither blind spots until you are about to hit pedestrians or cars on blind spot
While driving, I used the factory wireless phone charger in my Honda CR-V with an iPhone 15 Pro. The phone was placed directly on the charging pad with no case and Apple CarPlay was in use. During an extended drive, the phone failed to charge beyond approximately 50% and became excessively hot. Charging appeared inconsistent or stopped while heat continued to increase. I am concerned that the wireless charging system may cause overheating that could damage devices or present a potential fire or safety hazard. This occurred during normal, expected use of the vehicle’s built-in equipment.
Driver's side mirror spontaneously cracked down the middle, potentially from cold temperature. The mirror was not hit by any object, just cracked out of nowhere. Taking it to Honda dealership next week, but online search reveals this seems to be a problem with these recent Honda models.
Windshield in my 2025 Honda CRV EX-L cracked open when I turned on my Heat defroster. Put a big huge crack in my windshield just from using the defroster.
Sudden unintended acceleration when parked, resulted in crashing our car.
I’ve noticed several issues with the 2025 Honda CR-V Sport Hybrid. The hood vibrates excessively, and both the hatch and hatch lock appear to be misaligned. Additionally, the gaps and flushness between the hood and the surrounding body panels, as well as the alignment of the rear hatch, are inconsistent. TI have concerns with the sealing of the doors and the rubber seals throughout the entire vehicle, as they do not appear to be installed correctly.
The automatic braking system provides warning and brakes the car automatically with no trigger to do so. Has happened several times. My safety is at risk due to the vehicle braking for no reason while in traffic disrupting my own controlling the vehicle. The car is at dealer currently however they saying something "HAD" to trigger it and that I just wasn't aware. Not able to recreate at current moment.
I was pulling into parking space very slowly, stepped on the brake. The brake made a loud grinding sound. I pressed a little bit more cause I didn’t understand what was going on in the car at launched forward hit a tree slowed down a little and then kept going all the way down across street into more trees in a bush. I did not press the gas pedal at all. I was on the break.
Driving with no other cars in sight the crv randomly slammed the brakes on and showed break in the info center. This happened twice last night.
My brand-new 2025 Honda CR-V Hybrid Sport Touring AWD came equipped from the factory with Bridgestone Ecopia H/L 422 Plus all-season (M+S) tires. These tires exhibit dangerously low traction at very low speeds on normal packed snow and light ice typical on California’s Hwy 80/Tahoe corridor. On Fri Jan 3rd, the vehicle repeatedly lost traction, slid sideways, and struggled to accelerate from a stop on mild winter conditions where M+S tires are expected to provide adequate traction—particularly on an AWD SUV. This occurred at speeds under 10 mph on roads where other vehicles with M+S tires had no difficulty. The issue appears to be abnormally poor winter performance that is inconsistent with what is typical for M+S all-season tires. This raises concern about a possible tread compound defect, hard rubber compound, or manufacturing inconsistency with this specific Ecopia batch or production run. California law (Caltrans chain controls) considers AWD vehicles with M+S tires acceptable for winter operation without chains under R1 and often R2 conditions. These tires fail to meet this expected level of basic winter safety, even though they are legally marked M+S. Honda informed me that these tires are “not intended to be driven on snow and require chains,” which contradicts how M+S-rated OEM tires are used statewide and raises concern that the tire may not be performing to federal Mud & Snow design standards. This appears to be a safety defect affecting traction, stopping, and cont
Today (Saturday) was the coldest day since I got my car and I used the remote starter to heat up the car. When I got into the car 15 minutes later there was a crack in the side mirror that was not there the last time I drove it (Thursday) and the car was parked all day yesterday (Friday). I believe the cold temperature combined with the heating element in the mirror caused a crack in the glass. It looks like other CRV owners have had similar issues.
Brake lights did not turn on while stopping using automatic braking until the vehicle was completely stopped, leading to a rear-end collision
On November 17, 2025 at 8:25am, the collision happened while I was parking my vehicle into the parking spot at my work place. The vehicle allegedly failed to stop and unexpected accelerated and subsequently crashed into the wall. The impact caused significant damage to the front of the vehicle triggered airbags deployments and hurt my chest and forehead
My 2025 Honda CR-V Hybrid (VIN: [XXX] ) has experienced three separate incidents of a complete loss of power while driving on public roads (on [XXX]), each time requiring towing. The authorized dealership has performed multiple repairs, with the most recent including the replacement of the throttle body. However, this represents the third recurrence of this identical safety-critical failure within 16 months, indicating that the underlying defect has not been fixed. I believe this vehicle has a persistent and dangerous safety defect that poses an ongoing risk to myself and the public. I purchased the 2025 vehicle in September of 2025. The forward collision warning has never worked properly and will kick out disabling the cruise control. I have brought this issue up at least 3 times at the Honda Dealer I purchased it from (Verne Eide, Sioux Falls, SD). Each time I was told it this is a "known issue" and there is no fix for it. My only remedy was to disable the forward collision warning in order to be able to use the cruise control. My warranty expires in 6000 miles but they say they can't fix it. The dealer told me today that Honda is aware of the problem but has no fix for it. How is a know safety feature that does not work not considered a safety issue and a recall ordered? Honda has obviously chosen not to address this issue.
The Key fob separates from the physical key too easily. This has happened twice in 3 months resulting in one total loss of key - I was unable to access my vehicle when this happened. This could be a safety issue. The button for separating the key from the fob is raised making it too easy for it to be accidently pushed.
I changed lanes without using my blinker and the car fought against me on the freeway it caused me fear and concern, I questioned dealer I was told it was okay by dealer he said there is nothing wrong with the vehicle.
I am reporting a safety issue with my 2025 Honda CR-V Hybrid. The driver-side front mirror becomes blurry at highway speeds (60–70+ mph) and sometimes even above 40 mph on uneven roads, making it difficult to see vehicles behind me and creating a significant safety hazard, particularly when changing lanes or merging onto highways. The visibility issue worsens in rain, wind, or other adverse weather conditions, further compromising safe driving. Despite four service visits at my dealership, including a complete mirror replacement on August 25, 2025, the issue persists. Follow-up visits on October 20, 2025, and November 2025 confirmed that the problem was not resolved. My dealership has acknowledged that this may be a manufacturer defect and recommended that I contact Honda directly. This recurring issue directly affects safe vehicle operation and remains unresolved despite multiple documented repair attempts. I am submitting this complaint to formally document the safety concern and request appropriate manufacturer action.
I have lost steering power on two separate occasions in the last week. When this happens the steering wheel locks in place. Once while I was reversing, I went to turn the wheel and the steering wheel was frozen in place. I pulled back into the spot put the car in park and then back in reverse and the wheel was still locked in place. I had to shut off the car and restart it 5 times for the wheel to unlock itself. The second incident was while I was driving. I was doing around 40 MPH and went to make a lane change and the wheel was locked in place. This lasted closed to 1.5 miles. Finally I was able to get some movement (It felt like when you have a flat tire in the front which makes it tough to steer-I did not have a flat.) Once pulled over I had to turn the car off and on for around 15 minutes until I could move the steering wheel again. I brought it to the dealership yesterday, they could not duplicate the issue and there were no codes, so there was nothing they can do. There was a previous recall of a steering gear box r, my car was not effected because it was produced after the original recall according to the dealership. When both incidents occured there were no warnings, the wheel just locked itself. Not being able to steer without warning is a huge safety risk. I have joined Honda forums and others are complaining about the same issue.
After stopping the car I shut off the engine while the gear/selector was still in D (Drive). The car began rolling forward since the driveway has a slope. My car hit the car parked before my car. The front bumper has been damaged. Later. I've checked several times this situation: If engine shuts off while selector is in D, the vehicle rolls instead of holding on a slope. This is a serious safety issue! Many driveways have slopes.
Description of the Problem: I purchased a 2025 Honda CR-V Sport-L Hybrid in August 2024. The vehicle developed a steering noise and clicking issue early in ownership, first reported at 21,571 miles on November 6, 2024. The problem persisted through four separate warranty repair attempts at authorized Honda dealerships (Kirkland, Bellevue, and Seattle). Despite multiple repairs, including replacement of the cable reel and steering components, the issue was only confirmed and resolved by a Honda field engineer on April 25, 2025, at 49,657 miles. American Honda acknowledged the problem and opened Case #XXXand later a mediation case #XXX, but failed to respond to my Lemon Law resolution request. This prolonged defect affected vehicle safety and steering control stability, especially during low-speed turns and rough roads. Documentation of all visits and correspondence with Honda has been provided. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
My parked 2025 Honda CR-V had front radar sensor stolen in daytime . I am fearful this can happen again due to easy assessibility
Windshield washer sprayer fluid runs off top of windshield causing bugs and dirt to be smeared making it difficult to see clearly through the windshield. This is a constant problem. No matter how long I spray it doesn’t help.
Front collision system is not working since purchase of vehicle(7/2025). It does not give any visual or sound warnings within the specified settings. System is marked "on" on settings. Have checked settings multiple times. Dealer checked and said system was "off" which is questionable diagnosis. No change since they turned"on"(/2025). Have had numerous events that should have triggered the system to display visual alert. Am familiar with the system as had same feature on previous CRV. This is valuable feature to prevent accidents that is not working.
On October 5, 2025 my 8 yr old granddaughter moved from the rear passenger side to the rear driver side. The seat belt buckle insertion (female) caused a deep gash on her knee, it cut through the skin, bleeding, pain, and stiffness. I checked the seat belts buckle receiver and there is thin part is that is sharper, It is a flawed design that more pronounced in the backseat because it is deeper in the seat, than the front of the car where adults sit. I contact this agency because I tried my Honda apps and they are for payments and maintenance notifications. .. I have pictures of the cut and seat belt buckle insertion part
Driving at 55 mph on a highway and the sunroof spontaneously shattered. No construction, no road work, nothing in my video shows anything kicked up by a car etc. have a front and rear view camera on the car. Nothing was over my car as well while driving. That is seen on the video as well. Believe this will be a future recall. I am not the only one who has experienced this. Honda did nothing for me. They said you have to make an insurance claim. I could've been seriously hurt had I not had the sun slide in the closed position
While driving my 2025 Honda CR-V EX-L on October 3, 2025, at approximately 8:00 AM PST, the automatic emergency braking system (Collision Mitigation Braking System) activated unexpectedly. There were no vehicles in front or behind me, and road conditions were normal. The sudden braking could have caused a rear-end collision if another vehicle had been nearby. This incident raises serious safety concerns. I have learned that similar issues have been reported by other Honda owners. I am requesting an investigation into this malfunction and whether a recall or software update is necessary.
The brake system on my 2025 Honda CR-V Hybrid produces a pronounced creaking and groaning noise when releasing the brake pedal from a stop, especially on steep slopes. The issue becomes significantly louder when the vehicle is carrying more passengers/full luggage. This noise is distracting to the driver, particularly in stop-and-go traffic and on inclines and reduces confidence in safe braking performance. The condition creates a risk of delayed reaction or loss of focus while driving. The dealership was able to reproduce the noise during testing [only flat road/parking] but dismissed it as “characteristic.” However, the noise in my vehicle is noticeably louder than other CR-V Hybrids. The issue was not tested under the full conditions I described (steep slope and full load). I have driven another 2025 CR-V Hybrid (owned by a friend), and it does not exhibit any such issue. The problem has been present since shortly after purchase and continues to worsen. There are no warning lamps or diagnostic messages associated with the condition. I have all documented noise in video format - available to share on request. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request.
Fuel injectors failed at less than 3,000 miles. Two fuel injectors failed, per Honda service department, and it never recorded or served any error codes when they checked the history. It also did not display any dashboard warnings. I only knew there was an issue from heavy transition between gas and EV mode, and there was a strong burning odor in the cabin. Caused lightheartedness and coughing for occupants.
Unintended acceleration. On August 8, 2025, Honda C-RV Hybrid 2025 (sport touring) accelerated into a wall without the driver touching the gas pedal. The vehicle is deemed a constructive total loss by the insurance carrier. Since it can’t be driven, we are unable to reproduce the problem. A case is open with Honda since the date of the accident; however, there is no urgency to move the case forward.
The contact owns a 2025 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that while reversing out of the garage, the contact heard a loud explosion. After exiting the vehicle and inspecting it, the contact discovered that the small window near the rear passenger’s side door had exploded and fractured into several pieces. The glass landed inside the cabin of the vehicle on the rear seats. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The dealer confirmed that the window needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure, and a case was opened. The failure mileage was approximately 1,850. The VIN was unavailable.
On April 7, 2025, we bought a new 2025 Honda CRV EX. After driving it for a few weeks, we noticed that the Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS) is not functioning. And another safety feature, the Forward Collision Warning (FCW) system is visual only (not audible) and appears only when our vehicle is 5-6 feet from a vehicle in front. Obviously, this distance is insufficient to properly react in order to avoid an accident. According to the car manual, “the CMBS system can assist when it determines there is a possibility of your vehicle colliding with another vehicle in front…an oncoming vehicle in front, a pedestrian, or someone riding a bicycle. CMBS is designed to alert you when the potential for a collision is determined, as well as assist in reducing speed, avoiding collisions, and reducing collision severity.” With regard to the non-functioning CMBS, we brought the car back to the dealer several times to check on the lack of this system, but their service department could not detect the CMBS system either. They tested other new Honda CRV EX models and even in those cars they could not detect the CMBS system. On June 16, 2025 (received June 18), we sent a letter to Honda headquarters (see attached) asking their assistance in addressing this deficiency. We followed up with 2 phone calls on July 25 and August 13. Unfortunately, to no avail. No response received. From a safety point of view, we are concerned by the lack of the CMBS feature as well as the short distance w
The fluid dispenser is virtually useless. It seems that instead of coming from the bottom of the windshield and squirting upwards on the windshield, it comes from the blades. This causes the washer fluid to squirt almost everywhere except where it's needed. This causes an instruction of vision if the windshield is exceptionally dirty. Seems like a terrible design flaw that Honda doesn't seem to acknowledge.
Driving at 60mph. No car in front, behind or to the side. Out of the blue slammed on brake fully. My foot was on the gas the whole time. Slowed rapidly to 20mph before I could continue on. If someone had been behind me they would have hit me. I'm now frightened of my own car. Took it to the dealer service department and they said that it's very sensitive and that even an empty plastic grocery bag blowing around could set it off.
In the past 2 weeks my 2025 Honda CRV has automatically braked four times while driving on the road at about 45 miles an hour. Nothing else was around me - no vehicles, no animals, etc.
This braking issue happened on 4 occasions. While in stop and go traffic I would be braking, nursing the brakes the car would take over and slam me to a complete stop. It would not go again until I hit the gas. On two of those occasions the car behind me had to move into the nxt lane or over to the shoulder. The last time the seatbelt caught me so hard I had shoulder and neck pain for about 3 weeks (I work in rehab so my co workers worked on my neck and shoulders)I did take it to Honda after the first two incidences and they said there was nothing wrong, that’s just how the sensors are. I asked if the sensors could be turned off and they replied No. After the last incident where my shoulder and neck got hurt and the poor guy behind me almost hit the wall on the shoulder, I went the next day and traded it in. I lost my 5K that I put down and the car depreciated by several thousand in 4mos but it was not worth driving it and ending up in a major accident with major injuries to myself or another driver.
I copied the following from another complaint, as it describes the problem perfectly: My windshield wipers are ineffective. The liquid cleaner does not spray until the wipers are pointing out, thus causing the liquid spray to roll off the car and NOT clean the spots in the driver's field of vision. The miniscule amount of liquid left on the wipers simply smears the debris on the windshield resulting in a driving hazard
The sunroof completely shattered with no impact of an object while driving on the freeway. This but myself and my children at risk for harm had i had the sunroof visor open. Glass would have hit myself while driving and my baby while she was in the back seat. I am currently in the process of this being inspected. There were no warning signs or lights that came on.

NHTSA publishes every complaint as the owner wrote it and investigates only a fraction. Spelling, capitalisation and judgement are the filer’s own. What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
