2017 Honda CR-V complaints

UKNOWN. The button on the shifter knob broke when I shifted from park into reverse. I have to reassemble it every time I need to shift.

ELECTRICAL: this Honda CRV has had problems with the battery at apx12,000 miles. Battery fully discharged, requires being reset at a service facility because even after jumping the car, dash states that many of the functions will not operate. How stupid is that? VERY. Battery dead again in Dec. 2020, just under 13,000 miles. After jump, I traveled about 70 miles. After 2 days, dead again. Another 2 hr delay waiting for a jump and went directly to replace the battery. We bought the car new in Nov of 2017, this should not happen. The service person said that Honda puts in cheap batteries, so I attributed it to that until I read many of the NHTSA reports here with issue after issue being reported. Also, in summer of 2020, we noticed the air conditioning system seemed very weak. I did not take any action at that time, not sure what to do about that. Now in June of 2021, there is DEFINITELY A PROBLEM, no AC on these over 90 degree temp heat wave days. One doesn't buy an expensive car to have problems like this. Entering the car on a hot rainy day with the inside front windshield all fogging, you can't clear it without air conditioning. I couldn't drive the car until it cleared, which took a long time. I guess visibility isn't a high enough safety issue for Honda. And again after reading a hundred of these NHTSA reports, no need to read all 206, the pattern is clear. Entire system failure occurred while driving on a 4-lane interstate at speeds of 70 mph in congested traffic in air temps of 80 F (sunny). Vehicle lost all power both electrical / mechanical for roughly four to five seconds. There was immediate deacceleration and zero power (electrical / mechanical). Driver's immediate response was to remove hands from steering wheel and removed foot from gas in a state of shock/disbelief. Vehicle then restarted itself and resumed function. Driver was put at extreme risk as well as all other drivers / vehicles in surrounding roadway due to the extreme deacceleration with no warning. Incident reported to dealer who stated they had not heard of such an occurrence and requested vehicle be brought in for a $120 diagnostic check. Vehicle purchased new. Mileage at time of incident 20,000.

We purchased this car used with just at 40,000 miles and it passed inspection without any codes. After owning it less than two weeks, my son was driving it with his brother in the front passenger seat and they luckily noticed the PASSENGER AIR BAG OFF LIGHT WAS STILL ON even though his brother is 145lbs and should easily activate the airbag system. We took this to the Dealer and they stated that the air bag seat sensor was showing "-19lbs with no one seated in it" and not registering proper weight of passenger. The dealership then reset the sensor mat, but the issue returned within 2 days of getting it back. The Dealer is asking $1,000 to repair this as it is just over the 36 month warranty period. The reason I am reporting this is I own a 2017 Porsche Macan and they have recalled it for the same reason and I see this as a safety issue for the passenger, not a regular repair. Last it is concerning that a major safety system like this can fail in this situation and not show a code or alert the owner of the car better than this light. This MAJOR safety issue relies on the owner/driver to notice the "Passenger airbag off" light is illuminated with a adult weight passenger onboard which is always on when there is no passenger in the car, so this seems like it can lead to situations like this when the system is not working as designed. I have a 2017 Honda CRV with 1.5 turbo with only 89,651 miles. When we started the vehicle every warning light on the dash was on , including parking brake, lane departure, forward collision warning, lane keeping assist . So we didn't know if it was safe to even drive the car home. So I had to have a family member bring a code reader so i I could see if we could drive it home. It only had 3 codes, P0302 Cylinder 2 Misfire Dtc severity 2 of 3, P0302 cylinder 2 Misfire detected and another P0302 cylinder misfire. Had no codes of all the warning lights that were flashing on the dash. I cleared the codes with the code reader and all warning lights went off. So we drove it home. The next day we sent it to a Honda dealer and they performed a software update and a air-fuel test on all 4 cylinders. The vehicle did fail air-fuel test. The Honda dealer recommends new fuel injectors at a cost of $ 1264.00 . I feel there is a defect in the fuel injectors if they only lasted 89,650 miles. Also Honda might have a software problem if bad fuel injectors makes all the warning lights go on .

Dear NTHSA, Since last fall/winter my 2017 Honda CRV air conditioning system makes noise and has stopped cooling when its hot outside. This is a relatively new car with low mileage (24,000). I am taking it to my local dealer www.pierceyhonda.com for diagnosis. Are you aware of air conditioner problems in newer Honda CRVs like mine that are failing to cool on hot days like what I am reporting. Please help at your earliest convenience. During a routine drive, I heard what sounded like a piece of plastic fall into my cup holder area. I glanced into the cup holders and surrounding center console area, but did not observe anything that may have fallen into it. The vehicle continued to operate as normal so I continued to my destination. When I arrived, I went to put my vehicle in park, but then noticed that my gear shifter actuation button was missing. I was only able to get the vehicle into neutral, but not park or reverse. I looked down on the drivers side floor, but did not see the missing actuation button. My next thought was to get out of my seat and look for it under my seat. When I took my foot off of the brake pedal, the vehicle started to roll because I was on a slight grade and still in neutral. I then set the parking brake to hold the vehicle while I searched for the missing button. I finally found the button and the spring that goes with it laying on the drivers side floor almost under the seat. I observed the actuator and could see where it was actually broke, but I was still able to insert it back into the gear shifter handle and put the car into park and shut it off. To get home later, I had to wrap some electrical tape around the button so that it would not fall out again. When I got home, I could not turn my car off after parking because the electrical tape was preventing the actuation button from fully disengaging. I later removed the tape and covered the entire shifter knob with a small sock

The contact stated that several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 52,101.

The contact was unaware of the speed or the mileage on the vehicle. The contact stated that after the rain stopped falling, the instrument cluster functions returned. The failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer however, the mechanic was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 5,544.

Steering wheel has too much play/turns too easily/doesn't feel tight enough for accurate maneuverability. Highway driving requires constant focus on lane position and lane lines, making for an exhausting drive. Very difficult to prevent car from drifting out of the lane. Accident could result from car quickly drifting into neighboring lanes an oncoming traffic. Shortly after purchase, Honda mechanic checked it out. Even with an appointment I was there for 3 hours. I was told no issues were found. However, when I left the dealership, I immediately noticed a considerable improvement in maneuverability. Over time the challenging maneuverability issue has returned.

While driving about 25 mph on a corner, all the warning lights on dash board lit up and power suddenly dropped to less than 10 mph. Luckily there was a turnout where I pulled over. If someone was following me I could have been rear ended and pushed into on coming traffic. There was no warning or indication that I would be losing power like that. I have talked to Honda dealership and they have not heard of this happening. I have Googled this problem and it seems that other 2017-2018 CRVs are experiencing this issue too.

June 2, 2021 car was taken to local Honda dealer. Touch screen problems. Touch screen said Anti Theft system not workingPress and hold power button. I did and screen went black. I feel unsafe driving with a black screen ,when I back up I have no rear camera. I have no access to the other settings either. Honda repairmen updated computer system and it worked for one day. Today -June 4, 2021 the screen lit up when I started the car, went black with no warning messages a minute later. A few minutes later it came back on.

On a number of occasions the AEB has activated out of nowhere. Most often this has occurred when approaching an underpass, maybe the AEB is detecting the shadow of the bridge? It very scary as it beeps loudly and the breaks come on suddenly, causing me to jerk forward unexpectedly. This is potentially very dangerous when at high speeds. This has happened to me again today while on a straight highway road at 70 mph with no car in front of me and thankfully no car behind. In total this has happened about 15-20 times in the past three years.

While driving down the road, the button on the gear shifter popped off. It’s the button you push to move the shifter from Park to Drive, etc. I pulled over, but could not put the vehicle in Park or any other gear. Being already in Drive, I drove to Hendrick Honda in Easley, SC where they quickly put in a new button. It cost about $75. I was told that this is a known problem in 2017 Honda CRVs, the plastic attachment breaks and must be replaced. I was told that “there was a recall on some vehicles”, but there was no recall on mine. If there is a known problem affecting the shifting, it should be recalled and repaired. Turning off the vehicle in Drive, with no option to use Park is not safe. I could use the parking brake, of course. At a minimum, owners should know about the problem and what to do.

I tried using my air conditioner for the first time this year and it's blowing hot air.

TUGGING , PULLING SENSATION MAINLY WHEN TURNING LEFT AND SOMETIMES WHEN TURNING RIGHT MOTION IS NOT INITIATED BY THE DRIVER CAR WAS TAKEN TWICE TO HONDA DEALER AND KEPT FOR 3 TO 4 DAYS -AXLE REPLACED- DIDN'T HELP. TODAY IS MAY 18, 2021 AND I AM STILL HAVING STEERING PROBLEMS WITH THIS VEHICLE- STEERING WHEEL PULLS AND TUGS NOW AND THEN AT VARIOUS SPEEDS.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO Leith Honda (3940 Capital Hills Dr, Raleigh, NC 27616) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH NOTHING NEEDING TO BE REPLACED. THE SOFTWARE WAS UPDATED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD BEEN INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT FILED A COMPLAINT WITH THE MANUFACTURER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 48,013.

MY AIR CONDITIONER IS NOT WORKING AND I'M VERY CONCERNED. IV BEEN SEARCHING AND THIS PARTICULAR YEAR SEEMS TO HAVE A LOT OF PROBLEMS WITH AIR CONDITIONING NOT PROPERLY WORKING.. IT JUST BLOW HOT AIR. SHUTTER GRILLE CLOSES WHEN ENGINE HOT USUALLY AT FREEWAY SPEED, POWER TO ENGINE REDUCED AUTOMATICALLY, UNABLE TO SPEED UP IN EMERGENCY SITUATION. DEALER JUST SHRUGS AT COMPLAINTS. HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES.

MY 2017 HONDA CRV HAS 89K MILEAGE ON IT, WHILE DRIVING THE CAR ON 05/13/2021 ALL THE SAFETY AND OTHER SENSOR STOP WORKING. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY ARE TELLING ME THE FUEL INJECTORS ARE BAD AND THEY HAVE TO REPLACE ALL AT ONCE. I LOOKED ONLINE AND MULTIPLE PERSONS ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THEIR 2017 CRV ANYWHERE FROM 34K TO 90K MILEAGE

FUEL OR EXHAUST SMELL ON STARTUP

ON THE WAY DOWN FROM GRAPEVINE ALONG I-5, WARNING LIGHTS SHOWED ON MY DASHBOARD, E.G. TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR PROBLEM, EMISSION SYSTEM PROBLEM, BRAKE SYSTEM PROBLEM, ETC..., I PANIC AND EXITED THE FREEWAY. I OPENED THE HOOD TO COOL THE ENGINE. AFTER ABOUT AN HOUR, I RESTARTED THE ENGINE AND THE WARNING LIGHTS DISAPPEARED SO I CONTINUED MY TRAVEL. HOWEVER, AFTER ABOUT 40 MILES, THE WARNING LIGHTS CAME UP AGAIN. SO, I EXITED THE FREEWAY AGAIN. WE CALLED SERVICE DEALER IN BAKERSFIELD AND BASED ON OUR REPORT HE SAID THE COMPUTER MAY NOT BE TALKING WITH OTHER PARTS. HE ASKED US TO BRING IT IN. BUT THIS DEALER IS SOME 30 MILES AWAY AND IT'S TOO FAR FROM HOME. I RESTARTED THE ENGINE AGAIN AND THE WARNING LIGHTS WENT AWAY AFTER THE ENGINE HAS COOLED DOWN. SO I WENT BACK TO THE FREEWAY DRIVING SLOWLY AND CAREFULLY UNTIL THERE WAS A SLOWER TRUCK IN FRONT OF ME. I TRIED TO OVERTAKE THE TRUCK THEN I FELT LIKE SOMETHING SNAPPED, THE SAME WARNING LIGHTS CAME OUT AND I CAN FEEL THE ENGINE WAS LOSING POWER SO I PARKED ON THE SIDE AND DECIDED TO HAVE THE CAR TOWED SINCE IT CAN STALL IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD PUTTING OUR LIVES IN DANGER. WHEN THE CAR WAS TOWED TO THE HONDA DEALER CLOSE TO HOME, IT WAS DIAGNOSED AS INITIALLY FUEL PUMP PROBLEM WITH AN ESTIMATED COST OF ABOUT $2,000. BUT THE PARTS WILL TAKE ABOUT A WEEK TO SHIP DUE TO HAZARD ISSUES. THEY OFFER TO BUY BACK OUR CAR BUT AT ONLY HALF THE PRICE THAT WE BOUGHT IT. IT'S ALMOST FOUR YEARS OLD.

MULTIPLE TIMES ALL SYSTEM WARNING MESSAGES FLASH ON DASHBOARD SCREEN. AUDIBLE ALERT ALSO DINGS. VEHICLE OPERATES OK BUT WARNING MESSAGES CONTINUE TO FLASH ENTIRE TIME VEHICLE IS DRIVEN. TAKEN TO HONDA DEALER TWICE. ERRORS CLEARED AND SENSING RADAR REPLACED. ISSUE CONTINUES TO HAPPEN. DISCONNECT OF NEG BATTERY FOR 30 SEC CLEARS ALL CODES BUT UNDERLYING ISSUE REMAINS.

TOOK MY CAR IN APRIL 30 WHEN DASH LIGHTS BEGAN CYCLING THROUGH ALL DIAGNOSE BRAKE PROBLEMS,ENGINE PROBLEMS, ETC. THEY TOLD ME IT WAS MY BRAKES PAY $400 TO GET THEM FIXED ON MAY 8, TOOK THE CAR BACK WITH THE SAME PROBLEM HONDA DEALER IN BAY RIDGE

GEAR SHIFTER BUTTON POPPED OUT AND AS A RESULT I COULD NOT TURN OFF THE CAR ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. I WAS IN A PARKING LOT ABOUT TO SHIFT FROM PARK TO DRIVE WHEN IT HAPPENED. SHIFTING FROM PARK TO DRIVE AND FROM DRIVE TO PARK ALSO WAS VERY TRICKY.

1ST OWNER 2017 CRV WITH 51000. DRIVING DOWN HIGHWAY. CHECK ENGINE AND ALL SAFETY ASSIST FAILURE. DRIVE FOR A FEW DAYS AND LIGHT RESET. FEW MORE DAYS AND AGAIN THIS HAPPENS AND ENGINE ALSO LOOSES POWER. (HAVE NEWBORN IN THE CARE AND 3 YEAR OLD).OBD READER DISPLAYS CODES P0304 AND P0172. TAKE IT TO THE DEALER AND REPROGRAM THE COMPUTER AS THEIR IS EXTENDED WARRANTY ON OIL DILUTION PROBLEM. RE-TEST AND 4TH FUEL INJECTOR FAULTY. NOT COVERED BY POWER TRAIN WARRANTY. I CALL HONDA AND THEY ARE TRYING TO "GOODWILL" PART OF THE $1500 COST RATHER ADMITTING THAT THERE IS A FUEL INJECTOR ISSUE LIKE ON OTHER MODELS. COULD OF ENDED IN A MAJOR CAR ACCIDENT WITH CHILDREN! VERY DISAPPOINTED IN HONDA.

OUR SUV CONTINUES TO HAVE ISSUES WITH THE DASHBOARD. IT SHOWS ERRORS THEN IT WON'T START. WE ARE REBOOTING IT AT LEAST TWICE A MONTH. WE HAVE REPLACED THE BATTERY AND HAD TO CALL ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE. THE INCIDENTS HAPPEN WHILE DRIVING.

I TURN THE CAR ON AND THE SCREEN SHOWS MULTI FUNCTION FAILURE PROBLEMS VSA HILL START ROAD DEPARTURE DRIVE CAREFULLY SYSTEM ALL. AFTER RESTARTING 10 OR SO TIMES PROBLEM STOPS

THERE IS A FUEL/OIL RATIO ISSUE CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO RELEASE A VERY LARGE AMOUNT OF SMOKE WHEN TAKING OFF FROM A STOP OR WHEN PARKED. THE SMOKE DOES LESSEN WHEN DRIVING CONTINUALLY WITHOUT A STOP.

I SCAN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WITH OBD SCANNER AND ITS SHOWS P219F CODE. I SEARCH ON GOOGLE AND ITS COME TO THIS DESCRIPTION. WHEN A CODE P219F IS STORED, IT MEANS THAT THE POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE (PCM) HAS DETECTED AN IMBALANCE ERROR IN THE NUMBER FOUR CYLINDER. TO MONITOR THE AIR TO FUEL RATIO FOR EACH CYLINDER OF THE ENGINE, THE PCM USES DATA INPUT FROM HEATED EXHAUST OXYGEN SENSORS (SOMETIMES CALLED AIR FUEL SENSORS) AND THE CRANKSHAFT POSITION (CKP) AND CAMSHAFT POSITION (CMP) SENSORS. I SAW ONLINE AND LOTS OF PEOPLE HAS SAME PROBLEM IN HONDA CRV 2017-18 MODEL. I ALREADY REPORTED PROBLEM BEFORE WITH HONDA BUT GET STANDARD REPLY.

EVERY EARRING LIGHT COMES ON THE DASHBOARD AT THE SAME TIME. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES OVER THE PAST YEAR. THE CAR ABRUPTLY STOPPED WHEN I WAS TRAVELING 30MPH. THE ORANGE BREAK LIGHT FLASHED AND THE CAR STOPPED ITSELF WHEN COMING ACROSS A METAL PLATE IN THE ROAD. LUCKILY THERE WASN'T ANY VEHICLE BEHIND ME OR I WOULD HAVE BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT. DEALER SAID SEVERAL SOFTWARE UPDATES WERE NEEDED AND THE A/C CONTROL PANEL NEEDED REPLACED. PLUS AND OIL CHANGE WAS NEEDED IN ORDER TO REPLACE THE A/C CONTROL PANEL. I HAVE OWNED THE VEHICLE SINCE MARCH 2020. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER FOR ALL OIL CHANGES AND SERVICING SINCE I'VE OWNED THE CAR. I TOLD THE TECH LAST OIL CHANGE ABOUT THE WARNING LIGHT ISSUE AND HE SAID JUST DRIVE THE CAR IN NEXT TIME IT HAPPENED BECAUSE THEY NEEDED THE VEHICLE WHILE IT WAS HAPPENING.

DESIGN OR INSTALLATION OF WIRING HARNESS MAY HAVE CAUSED THE AIR CONDITIONER WIRE TO THE PRESSURE SENSOR TO BREAK. I DO NOT KNOW IF THIS REPRESENTS A SAFETY ISSUE, HOWEVER, THERE HAVE BEEN REPORTS OF FIRE OCCURRING IN OTHER CRV VEHICLES HAVING A FAULTY WIRE HARNESS. REPLACING THE HARNESS IS ALMOST ENTIRELY LABOR AT A COST OF ALMOST $600.00

AT 60-70K MILES, THE 2017 CR-V MODEL HAS BEEN WIDELY SHOWN TO HAVE FUEL INJECTORS THAT FAIL. MY VEHICLE HAS HAD INTERMITTENT ELECTRICAL ISSUES FOLLOWED BY AN EMISSIONS WARNING THAT PROMPTED ME TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER. THEY INSPECTED AND INFORMED ME IT WOULD BE $1600 TO REPAIR DUE TO FUEL INJECTOR MALFUNCTION (CODES P0172, P219D) AND GASOLINE DILUTING THE ENGINE OIL AND IT IS NOT COVERED UNDER A WARRANTY EXTENSION FOR OTHER OIL DILUTION ISSUES. I STARTED DOING RESEARCH AND HAVE FOUND THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM AROUND THE MILEAGE OF MY VEHICLE (65K MILES 3.5 YEARS OLD) AND OTHER OWNERS OF THIS PARTICULAR MODEL YEAR HAVE LOBBIED TO HONDA TO HAVE PART OR ALL OF THE REPAIR PAID FOR (AN AT LEAST PARTIAL ADMISSION THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE BY HONDA.) THIS EMISSION ERROR HAPPENED WHILE THE CAR WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY.

OUR 2017 HONDA CR-V WILL NOT KEEP THE BATTERY CHARGED EVEN WITH RECOMMENDED DRIVING PER CROWN HONDA OF GREENSBORO NC. THEY HAVE REPLACED THE BATTERY TWICE AND IT HAS BEEN INTO THEIR SERVICE DEPARTMENT FOR A DEAD BATTERY 5 TIMES AS OF 3/30/21. WE DID HAVE ANOTHER DEAD BATTERY LAST WEEK AND HAVE NOT SCHEDULED ANOTHER APPT.

THIS VEHICLE DOES NOT GET WARM IN THE WINTER. I LIVE IN MICHIGAN AND HEAT IS IMPORTANT. I UNDERSTAND IT IS AN ONGOING PROBLEM AND I WANT TO KNOW WHAT HONDA IS DOING ABOUT IT.

I WAS DRIVING MY 2017 HONDA CRV LAST NIGHT AND OUT OF NOWHERE, ALL WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON ACROSS THE DASHBOARD, INCLUDING DISABLING TRACTION CONTROL, ANTI-LOCK BRAKES AND EMISSIONS SAFETY, AMONG MANY OTHER ERRORS. THESE SYSTEMS PROVIDE SAFE DRIVING SO THEY ARE ESSENTIAL FOR USE, AND ALSO FRIGHTENING TO HAVE DEACTIVATED WHEN CRUISING DOWN THE STREET IN DOWNTOWN DENVER, SURROUNDED BY TRAFFIC AND PEDESTRIANS. THE CAR HAS LITERALLY EVERY SINGLE WARNING LIGHT ON, INCLUDING THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. TURNING THE CAR ON AND OFF SEVERAL TIMES DID NOT FIX IT AND SO IT WILL NEED DEALER REPAIR. UPON DOING RESEARCH, I'VE NOTICED THAT THIS IS A WIDESPREAD ISSUE WITH 2017-2018 HONDA CRVS AND IS AFFECTING A LOT OF OTHER DRIVERS. THIS CAR FEELS VERY UNSAFE IF ALL THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS KICK ON AND OFF AS THEY PLEASE, SEEMINGLY AT RANDOM. CAR BATTERY CONTINUES TO DIE AFTER ONLY 2 DAYS OF NON USE. GOING TO TAKE IT TO HONDA DEALER FOR THE 4TH TIME. TOLD ME NUMEROUS TIMES NOTHING IS WRONG AND I NEED TO DRIVE IT MORE, WHICH I AM YET IT'S STILL HAPPENED.

HONDA SENSING TURNS OFF EVERY TIME THERE IS MODERATE RAIN OR SNOW. THE RADAR IS NOT BLOCKED NOR IS ANY WINDSHIELD SENSOR. THESE SENSORS BECOME UNAVAILABLE WHEN THEY ARE NEEDED THE MOST. THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES.

ALL ADA WARNING LIGHTS COME ON WHEN VEHICLE IS BEING DRIVEN. DOES NOT SEEM TO AFFECT DRIVABILITY BUT ALL FUNCTIONS ARE DISABLED. LIGHTS HAVE GONE OFF ON THEIR OWN ONCE OTHER TIMES HAD TO CYCLE POWER ON COMPUTER TO RESET. PROBLEM IS BECOMING MORE FREQUENT

WHILE DRIVING UNDER ORDINARY CONDITIONS, WARNING SYSTEMS BEGIN. THE FIRST WARNING IS TO PULL OVER BECAUSE THE AWD SYSTEM IS OVERHEATING. FROM THAT POINT, MANY DIFFERENT WARNING MESSAGES BEGIN SCROLLING WITH REPEATED WARNINGS OF ALL SYSTEMS IN THE CAR FAILING. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS, APPROXIMATELY 3 WEEKS APART. ALSO, ON ONE OCCASSION, WHILE DRIVING, THE BRAKE LIGHT BEGAN TO FLASH TO CAUTION A SLOW DOWN, AND THERE WERE NO OTHER VEHICLES OR OBSTACLES ON ANY SIDE OF THE CAR. AFTER THE CAR HAS BEEN PARKED FOR SEVERAL HOURS, THE COMPUTER SEEMS TO "RESET" ITSELF, AND NORMAL OPERATION IS RETURNED. ALL INSTANCES OCCURRED DURING NORMAL CITY DRIVING AT SPEEDS BELOW 35 MILES PER HOUR.

START CAR AFTER PUTTING DRIVE ALL ALARMS GO OFF AND BRAKES AUTOMATICALLY APPLY IN WHEN DRIVING. ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AND I AM UNABLE TO CONTROL MY VEHICLE. IT HAPPENS ALL THE TIME I ONLY HAVE ONE CAR AND AM AFRAID TO DRIVE IT!

1:L.S SUSPENSION IS MAKING CLUNKY NOISE FOR LONG TIME.THIS PROBLEM WAS ON AND OFF BUT NOW ITS CONTINUOUSLY MAKING NOISE WHILE I DRIVE TO A BUMPY OR SMALL BROKEN ROAD. 2:ENGINE WAS MAKING ROARING NOISE THEN I FOLLOW UP WITH DEALER WITH MY RECALL NOTICE. I DON'T KNOW THEY FIX IT OR NOT BUT STILL MAKING THIS NOISE. 3:SMELL SOLID FUEL/GASOLINE FROM THE EXHAUST SYSTEM.FULL TANK GAS GIVING ME ONLY 178 MILES RANGE BUT I'M NOT ABLE TO DRIVE 150 MILES EVEN.I ALWAYS TAKE THE SILVER GASOLINE WHICH IS $38 DOLLARS FOR THE FULL TANK.SOMETIMES MORE AND MORE THIS IS THE BIGGEST PROBLEM OF CAR AND MY FINANCIAL. I THINK MY FUEL IS LEAKING AND THIS COULD BE SOMETHING ELSE. CREDIT KARMA SHOWING ME I HAVE 3 OPEN RECALLS WHICH IS ONE OF THEM. BUT I DIDN'T RECEIVE ANY MAIL ANY EMAIL OR NOTIFICATION FROM THEM.

FOR THE PAST FEW MONTHS ALL OF MY WARNING LIGHTS COME ON. THEY WILL GO OFF AT TIMES, OTHER TIMES I HAVE TO PULL OVER TO RESTART MY CAR. IN ADDITION, MY DISPLAY WILL GO DIM OR GET VERY BRIGHT ON IT'S OWN. ON FEBRUARY 27, 2021 MY ALARM STARTED TO GO OFF FOR NO REASON. THEY CAR WAS PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY AND NO ONE WAS NEAR THE REMOTE. I COULD NOT GET THE ALARM TO GO OFF, NO MATTER WHAT I DID. ON MONDAY, MARCH 1ST I WENT TO START MY CAR AND IT WOULD NOT START OR RESPOND TO ANYTHING WITH THE REMOTE. I CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP, VALLEY HONDA IN MONROEVILLE, PA. THEY STATED THAT IT COULD BE THE BATTERY HAVING LOW VOLTAGE. THE DEALERSHIP IS OVER 45 MINUTES AWAY AND I NEEDED A VEHICLE TO HELP CARE FOR MY ILL FATHER SO I PURCHASED A NEW BATTERY AND INSTALLED IT LATE MONDAY NIGHT. AS SOON AS I STARTED THE VEHICLE ALL OF THE DASHBOARDS LIGHTS STARTED FLASHING AND THE ALARM WOULD RANDOMLY GO OFF. THIS CONTINUED UNTIL I COULD GET IT TO THE DEALERSHIP ON WEDS NIGHT. THEY DIAGNOSED IT AS A BODY CONTROL MODULE. MY CAR IS ONLY 4 YEARS OLD WITH 50K MILEAGE BUT THE HONDA WARRANTY IS OUT. I EVEN CALLED HONDA WHO ONLY OFFERED A COURTESY PARTIAL PAYMENT, AS LONG AS I DID NOT PICK UP MY VEHICLE UNTIL THEY FINISHED THEIR INVESTIGATION. THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO REASON FOR MY DISPLAY TO HAVE BEEN ACTING UP OR A NEED TO REPLACE A BCM WITH A VEHICLE THAT IS ONLY 4 YEARS OLD!

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 HONDA CR-V. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING LESS THEN 20 MPH WHEN THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE. THE LOW POWER WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AN OIL BURNING ODOR WAS DETECTED. THE CONTACT'S HUSBAND CHANGED THE OIL ON 3/3/21 AND NOTICED THE VEHICLE WAS LEAKING OIL A QUART OVER FUEL AND HAD GASOLINE IN THE OIL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSIS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE LOCAL DEALER WAS NOTIFIED AND THE CONTACT WAS TOLD TO BRING THE VEHICLE IN TO SCHEDULE A RECALL REPAIR APPOINTMENT. THE CONTACT STATED SHE CAN NOT TAKE THE VEHICLE IN AT THE MOMENT BECAUSE SHE JUST CHANGED THE OIL. THE CONTACT FELT THE VEHICLE WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 27,400.

FUEL IS GETTING INTO THE OIL SUMP CAUSING OIL DILUTION. THE CRV 1.5-LITER TURBO ENGINE HAS PROBLEMS. THIS IS DUE TO GASOLINE SEEPING INTO THE ENGINE OIL. I HAVE CONCERNS ABOUT THE DURABILITY OF THE 1.5-LITER TURBO ENGINE AND ABOUT MY VEHICLE POTENTIALLY STALLING, ESPECIALLY IN COLD WEATHER HERE IN ILLINOIS. A SAFETY ISSUE. HONDA SAYS THAT I NEED TO DRIVE IT MORE TO ALLOW ENGINE HEAT TO DISSIPATE THE FUEL. TRUE I DON'T PUT A LOT OF MILES ON MY CAR, BUT HOW OFTEN I DRIVE MY CAR SHOULD NOT BE FACTORED IN WHEN DESIGNING A SAFE AND RELIABLE CAR. FUEL DILUTED OIL WILL NOT PROPERLY LUBRICATE CRITICAL ENGINE PARTS. WHEN I HECK MY OIL, THE LEVEL RISES ON MY DIPSTICK. THERE IS ALSO A SMELL OF GASOLINE ON THE DIPSTICK. I HAVE TO KEEP GETTING OIL CHANGES TO FIX THAT. THIS HAS BEEN CONSTANTLY OCCURRING.SINCE I BOUGHT THE CRV (BOUGHT IN MARCH 2020).

HONDA CRV 2017 KEEPS DRAINING BATTERY EVEN AFTER IT IS TURNED OFF AND CAUSING ROUTINE SERVICE CALLS. IT ALSO TRIGGERS SECURITY SYSTEM ALARM TO GO OFF RANDOMLY AND CAR BEGINS TO REFLECT LIKE STARTING ON IT'S OWN WITH DISPLAYS RUNNING EVEN WHEN NO ONE IS IN THE CAR AFTER IT IS TURNED OFF. HOPE SUCH THINGS DO NOT HAPPEN ON ROAD WHEN PARKED AND CREATE OTHER ISSUES

2017 HONDA CR-V. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO STRONG GAS ODOR IN ENGINE OIL. *LD THE CONSUMER STATED THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN ADVISED TO MONITOR THE OIL LEVEL AND BRING THE VEHICLE IN FOR SERVICE SHOULD THE OIL LEVEL BECOME LOW OR THE YELLOW CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. *JS

VEHICLE LOST ALL POWER WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND ALL OF THE DASHBOARD LIGHTS LIT UP. HAD BEEN VERY COLD WEATHER FOR ABOUT THE WEEK PRIOR. ALSO, THE HEATER WOULDN'T GET WARM AND CAR TOOK FOREVER TO WARM UP.
