I arranged a service appointment with my dealer Honda of Gainesville to perform the necessary service on my recalled 2022 Honda CR-V Hybrid for the 12-volt battery cable harness that does not contain a fuse on the positive power circuit and to perform a 20k miles service. During the service I was informed that dealer does not have the recall item in stock because Honda has a difficult time to keep up with the demand for the item in question. I was told that it could take months before the dealer gets another shipment, nor does the dealer intend to call affected customers when the item arrives. After a month I have to call the dealership periodically to see if the recall service can be performed. What am I to do in the meantime, keep the car in the garage and get a rental? Call the dealership daily, weekly, or monthly? I cannot afford to rent over the long haul to get to my place of work and have no idea if any one is legally required to compensate me for a rental.
The contact owns a 2022 Honda CR-V. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V844000 (Electrical System) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.
I got car accident on 12/22/23 due to brake failure. I was at Stop Sign - zero mph (at Parking Lot near shopping mall in Concord, CA), suddenly my car unexpectedly revved and lurched forward. It then jumped the parking curb. I had to control on steering wheel to the left because the right side was Chinese Restaurant. I tried to brake and press on "P". They did not work. My car hit one of the car that parked there. Then the car was stopped. The airbag was deployed. I talked with several people that have Honda CRV Hybrid, they have same problem on the brake and Honda did not take any responsible and I feel this is not safe for me and for people that drive same road with me. I might hit more people if I still own this car. Note: I have this car less than 2 years so I still owe the bank. Note: My car was not on fire but it was smoking came out from steering wheel. I got chest, stomach, back hurt from the pushing of airbag
UNKNOWN issue with steering. When steering along long curves on the highway and then trying to straighten the steering wheel, the steering wheel will feel stuck and take a bit more force to overcome the position it gets stuck at before being able to be straightened out. Adding this amount of force to overcome the stuck steering wheel causes the car to swerve slightly.
Doors locks malfunctioned intermittently as it doesn't lock and a beep goes on. One has to re-opened the door for the door to lock permanently until you need to get back into the car. The problem occurred from December 1 2022 to April 15 2023. It could be any doors. It is a safety issue for myself and others. I brought the Honda Touring several times to the Honda dealer and they claim it could not be reproduced. However I have multiple tapes to confirm the problem. There were no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure. I bought the car at Auto Fair New Hampshire and the problem started after December 2022 till April 15 , 2023. Then it completely stopped . I brought up the same concern to Honda Auburn and Customer Service Honda with video tapes and it got nowhere. The same problem started again on November 1, 2023......
Power system problem light started coming on soon after we bought the car new. It has been towed to Barber Honda in Bakersfield many times- it dies, won’t start. It is on the 3rd battery within 1st year. The last incident was 10/23/23 the car suddenly lost all power in an area of mountains- I was stranded without cell phone service, it was dangerous. Finally had it towed again- this time they replaced the fuel pump. We have had a lawyer since 4/4/23 and Honda has refused to do anything to about this car! I am scared to drive it.
The blind spot warning system doesn’t make a warning sound. The blind spot warnings are by rear view warning lights but they don’t always work and are difficult to see. I have had numerous occasions where I didn’t see or hear anything and I almost changed lanes into another vehicle! There needs to be a sound to alert the driver. Have not discussed with dealer yet.
Overnight on August 14 - 15th, 2023, it rained heavily in my area (at least 1/2"- 1" of rain fell overnight). I went out to my car at 11:30 AM on August 15,2023, to find all 4 windows AND the moonroof opened. The inside of my CRV Hybrid touring vehicle was saturated deep with water. I took it to the dealership (Motorworld in Wilkes-Barre, PA) to have the vehicle checked for a computer type malfunction. No codes were retained in the vehicles memory. I was informed that Hondas now have a key fob feature that will open all the windows and moonroof IF the buttons are pushed in the proper sequence. I read the entire 689 page owner's manual when I purchased the car new in October, 2022, 2 sentences on page on page 183 briefly mention this "feature" to let hot air out of your vehicle. (Press door unlock key one, press and hold door unlock button again and hold it within 10 seconds, and press it again and hold it within 10 seconds and your windows will all come down as well as moon roof open. THERE IS NO WAY TO DISABLE THIS FEATURE. I do not play with my key fob, no children in home. All the seats, roof, and floor are supersaturated with rain water. This water situation can cause MOLD, just as if the car was in a flood, which can be extremely dangerous/ lethal to a person like me with respiratory issues. Also, electrical components may have been damaged because of a huge amount of water. Honda was notified and they said, call your insurance company and file a claim. The problem it ca
On 8-1-23 My 2022 Honda CRV Hybrid locked me out of my car of its own volition with the keys and fob sitting inside the CRV on the passenger front seat. It left me stranded until I could find someone to drive me to my house. I called Avalon Honda at 11:00am and spoke to the Service department. They promptly told me they couldn't fit me in for at least a week and the key fob battery was probably the problem also that they would not give me a loaner car to use when they tried to fix the problem. On 8-2-23, my 2022 CRV Hybrid locked me out of my car of its own volition with me having the keys and Fob in my hand. My cell phone was still in the car and the car was running. The Fob would not open the door. The manual key would not open the door either. I was stranded along a wooded area long road where I had no way to get help. I finally found help and used someone else's cell phone to call Avalon Honda where the Service Manager, Joe Dimonte, told me that if I could get the car to them, then they would take a look at it. I was within 5 miles of their dealership where I bought the car, and they refused to help me stranded outside my vehicle, without even my cell phone or wallet to get any other help. After an hour of my car running and trying to find a way in the car, a friend came and drove me to my house to get the second Fob and stopped at Avalon Honda and had a new manual key cut. Neither key Fob or emergency key worked and their newly cut key opened the door. Praise the Lord. D
The contact owned a 2022 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that while driving and attempting to park the vehicle, the vehicle independently accelerated and crashed into a fence and a generator on a residential property. The vehicle was towed to a tow yard, where it was inspected by Check Collision and diagnosed with a brake malfunction. The vehicle was declared a total loss by the insurance adjuster. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 9,379.
The front passenger side axle seal leaking transmission fluid. This leak caused a loss of transmission fluid which, if not discovered, could have caused sudden power loss and lockup of transmission. This would no doubt have caused a collision resulting in serious injury or death. I believe Honda is aware of this defect and has yet to issue a recall.

My SUV's Moonroof glass "exploded with a big loud bang" while driving at about 65 miles per hour in a central lane on March 16, 2023 at about 8:00-8:30 pm. My home was about less than 1 -1/2 to 2 miles away. I parked my car at the garage and noticed the my moonroof glass had completely shattered. My SUV had less than 4000 miles on it and still is under manufacture's warranty.
Sun roof spontaneously exploded while driving on highway
Brakes: loud squealing while in reverse and stop sign. Also steering and turning steering wheel. Fuel system looses power. Getting poor gas mileage. Rear windows tweet. Took to Vern Eide Honda on 12/08/22. Top certified mechanic looked at brakes steering and fuel system no problems found. Oil life dropped 20% in less than a month drive work and home. Less than 50 miles per day. Additional rear windows tweet and door handle squeak like rusty. Problem started in August of 2022 and is now 90%worse. Had also taken vehicle to Harr Honda on 1/16/23 they greased brakes said nothing they can do wait for recall.
Even when the steering assist is off it pulls to left really bad and it just feels like car is steering itself, also the braking system we give you an alert when no threat..
The automatic emergency braking system was activated even though there was nothing in my path, causing me to stop short in the middle of the street. I could have been rear ended, but fortunately there was no car behind me. The vehicle has not yet been inspected.
I hit a deer with my car and pulled over to emergency lane. I had a hard time to make the car stop rolling. I pressed brake, emergency brake, car was stuck in neutral. I thought car was stopped and got of car . Car began rolling and i was holding onto passenger door handle and I could not open door to jump in and stop car. I had to let it go and it went into the lane on the highway and stop finally.. Luckily no one hit the car or got hurt. I had to stay seated in the car with my foot on brake with a cop behind me until a tow truck arrived. Car would not start, park or anything.
While driving in adaptive Cruise control Car applied brake even though no vehicle present can n front of the car. This lead to car behind me apply the brakes. This could be dangerous in future.
Less than a year old and at 3207 miles, the vehicle would not start and showed absolutely no life. The 12v battery was completely drained and required a jump start. The battery did NOT go bad, has no dead cells and the charging system shows no issues when tested. Either the hybrid has a parasitic drain on the low-end battery or the hybrid system does not consider when the 12v battery is low, the gas engine needs to run for charging the 12v battery.
When traveling with the cruise control engaged, the vehicle will suddenly begin braking with no vehicles or objects in front of the vehicle. It’s occurred multiple occasions and some episodes are a quick braking where it then suddenly accelerates back up to the set speed, and during other episodes I quickly hit the accelerator as I wasn’t sure if it was going to recover itself and I did not want to get rear ended.
The contact owns a 2022 Honda CR-V. The vehicle was parked by a storefront on a slope, the front end was pointed downhill. The contact stated that he was loading a vacuum into the rear of the vehicle and the liftgate was up. The contact was bending at the waist and his head, shoulders, and chest were inside the vehicle as he loaded the vacuum, when the lift gate triggered and closed down on his lower back. The contact stated that there was no warning, and also the gate safety devices had failed and had not sensed that he was partially inside the vehicle. The contact stated that the lift gate had attempted to continue closing and he had felt pressure on his lower back and was almost trapped by the liftgate. The contact had used his upper back to push the lift gate up and had squeezed out as the liftgate closed. The contact stated that he had suffered injuries to his lower back, however, he did not seek medical attention. The contact had not taken the vehicle to a local dealer, and the vehicle was not diagnosed and not repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 5,000.
The electronic dashboard looks like a video game. Both the book and the dealer told me that I must watch the dashboard for the signal that the electric vehicle or EV mode is ready to engage. I must then with my right hand press a button that is below the entertainment center. There is also an economy mode. Again the dashboard tells me when it’s ready and I’m supposed to push that button when that light appears This is very distracting and dangerous. This should all be done automatically by the computer
In April 2022, my dad purchased a brand new Honda CRV 2022 hybrid touring edition. This car was deemed as one of the safest cars on the market and was his main intent while buying it. A couple of weeks ago this car was the prime suspect of a fire that impacted both the car and our house. Let me break down exactly how this occurred and where the blame should fall on this situation. When I was slowly backing out of my garage, I noticed that my car was not straight and that I needed to turn my wheel in order to straighten it out. When doing so, 3/4 of my car made it out of the garage, even the side mirrors. However, the area on the top left on my wheel scratched the side of my garage. When this occurred, I did not think much of it since scratching cars is not that uncommon, especially when reversing. The worst that is expected to happen is chipping of the paint and a minor dent. But when I got out of the car to access the situation I noticed that smoke started releasing out of the area of the impact. By the time I called my dad, a little fire was also present at the area of the impact. He advised me to go inside the house and use water or other resources in order to try putting out the fire myself. So I went inside and by the time I got back, the fire had greatly increased in size. This all happened in a matter of 2 minutes! I quickly called 911 and 2 police cars came as soon as possible. The officers tried to put out the flames with a fire extinguisher but there was no luck. 2022 HONDA CR-V HYBRID. CONSTITUENT STATED THAT THE HYBRID IS NOT WORKING PROPERLY. THEY ARE AVERAGING LESS MPG THAN THE ADVERTISED 35-38 MILES PER GALLON WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE.
I was going south bound up a hill. Less then 20 mph and was blinded by the sun. The old folks in front of me were also blinded by the sun and stopped in the middle of the hill. My automatic emergency braking system did not kick in and I ran right into them. We could have been hurt. My car is being fixed in a collision repair shop now.
When driving between 45 and 50 miles per hour the vehicle did an automatic hard brake...luckily there was no one behind me. I have reported it to the dealer and have an appointment to have the system checked next week.
The center navigation/infotainment system failed at 436 miles. This prevented all functionality including the ability to use any climate control functionality and the backup camera.

NHTSA publishes every complaint as the owner wrote it and investigates only a fraction. Spelling, capitalisation and judgement are the filer’s own. What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
