The car had a problem where it will not start because the stater grinds. Honda knows about the problem and won’t do a recall instead they charged me to have the remove the engine. Install a new torque converter and starter. They said the factory had a bad batch of torque converters. And quite a few cars were affected by this problem. Seems ridicules that a problem they k ow about with a part quality is the problem of the consumer. It’s about $3400 for each person that has to deal with this. The way the starter stays engaged and just grinds it could easily cause a fire.

While traveling in New York City, several warning lights illuminated on the dashboard of my 2016 Honda Accord, including a red light for the brakes. Upon returning home, my local dealer diagnosed the problem and determined that the vehicle stability assist (VSA) module failed and needed to be replaced. I prepaid for the part; however, the dealer advised that the VSA module is on backorder and will not be available until November 5, 2023. I feel that the delay of a critical brake component affects my safety and the safety of other motorists. Therefore, I requests assistance with the immediate repair of the vehicle or alternate transportation until repairs are completed.
Audio unit produces loud static and beeping noises spontaneously, regardless if whether the audio unit is on or off. The sound is very distracting and may be damaging to the ears of the driver and passengers.
Transmission failed after less than 24 hours of “symptoms.” Car started shuddering around 3:45 pm on a Thursday and by 8:30 am on Friday the transmission has totally failed. This put my safety at risk because I had no prior indications of a problem and suddenly, while driving the car, was unable to accelerate without the car shaking and shuddering making it impossible for me to keep up with the speed of traffic and nearly be hit multiple times. The car is currently at the dealership awaiting a second opinion and confirmation by dealership.
Bad ABS module. Code 122-11 solenoid valve malfunction code. Brake, traction control, power steering, ABS lights on
Audio system started making very loud noise.Thought it was speakers at first but even when the radio is off the noise is on. No buttons are usable, volume, apps, return, source or even the off/on. The noise is extremely loud 2 the point of having 2 pull over, turn the car off. Its a deafening noise & totally unbearable.Have to sit wherever I pulled over for quite some time which is dangerous especially at nighttime to get the noise to its lowest decibel 2 be able 2 drive again only for about 30/40 secs B4 it starts increasing to the unbearable level again.Takes 45 min 2 drive a 15 min trip. Vehicle cant B driven while this is going on and is a definite SAFETY HAZARD due to not being able to concentrate on driving. This has caused me to almost be hit or hit others because I’m so focused on this noise radiating through my head and ears.I cannot hear others horns for warnings. Once exiting my car my ears are buzzing extremely loud. Had 2 audio specialists check it and I’m told it’s the amplifier to contact a Honda dealer about a Goodwill claim. I called Royal Honda in Metairie LA and they told me that since I didn’t purchase my car new from them or serviced there yet (just moved to LA) that they will not consider a Goodwill claim to take it back to the state I purchased it from(really so I’m supposed to drive 6 hours each time? NOT ACCEPTABLE) and if they fixed it they would charge me $3,500. This problem started about 3 months ago. I had the amplifier disconnected and now both
My vehicle started blaring static noise through all of my speakers even though the volume was turned off. I have found no remedy for this issue, and I've had to resort to wearing noise canceling headphones while driving. This is a MAJOR safety concern as the static noise is as high as my volume will reach, and there is no way to turn it off. Pulling over and turning the vehicle off and on does not fix the issue. Not being able to hear my surroundings drastically increases the chances of me having an accident. I have found many online threads stating that others with this year model vehicle have experienced this same issue. My vehicle is stock and no alterations have been made. This issue seems to occur most frequently when it is a hot day. The blaring of static noise seems to only happen in the afternoon, after my car has sat outside of my office.
In May 2023, a local Honda dealership confirmed a VSA Solenoid Malfunction in my 2016 Honda Accord Sport. All ABS, steering, traction, and brake lights are on in the car. Part is currently on backorder - due to timing, the warranty is expired (2k miles over coverage) and no longer covers issues like this. Don't feel safe driving car while lights are on.
1) power train system and anti lock brake system. Base on the code found in the fix finder report my solutions were to replace the fuel pump and battery. The battery was changed one week ago and it is telling me that the battery must be change again due to an electrical issue. Yes, it is available for inspection upon request. 2) While driving my car began to accelerate picking up speed by itself and then suddenly dropped the speed. I had to pull over and stop the car. 3)unknown 4)No 5)The engine light, power steering light turned on today 8/11/2023 while driving. My car began to drive strange and accelerating by itself.
The contact owns a 2016 Honda Accord. The contact stated after driving 35 MPH and arriving at her destination, the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The mechanic determined there was a failure with the rear main seal, causing fluid to slowly leak out from the rear main seal. The vehicle was then taken to a second independent mechanic who confirmed the diagnostic test result. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 93,500.
Vehicle entertainment center constantly is crashing and will not restart until vehicle is restarted. Made multiple attempts with different Honda dealerships to remedy issue and Honda can’t replicate issue.
Car has airbag light on. American Honda is non responsive to my calls for assistance on the backoredered part. Vehicle is being driven without srs properly functioning.
The backup camera in my vehicle randomly but consistently stops working while the vehicle is in motion. The camera drops because the entire infotainment system crashes. The frequency of occurrence is approximately 2-3 times per month, but the problem has occurred for the past two years (around the time when Honda replaced the infotainment system due to a service bulletin). The system crashes usually within the first 1-5 minutes of driving. Sometimes it crashes when the vehicle is going forward, but a higher percentage of crashes occur in the first minute after I start the vehicle. If the vehicle is going forward and the system crashes, I lose the side camera which activates when I make a lane change to the left or a left-hand turn. I have notified Honda of this issue; i've worked with a local dealer and corresponded with Honda Corporate. Importantly, I provided Honda with photos showing the system failure. However, Honda Corporate refuses to fix the problem because, in their words, "we don't fix a problem that only happens periodically." Unacceptable! Drivers like my self depend on the backup camera. Like the airbag or seat belt, the back-up camera should be regarded as a safety device. If it fails, an OME should be required to fix the issue immediately. Yet Honda refuses to address the problem with my vehicle, and I doubt mine is the only car with this problem. Taking photos of this problem is hard because the crash is unpredictable and getting my phone out and snapping a pi
I found previous complaints with the same issue so I used their words and added/deleted a bit more: 2016 Honda Accord. The instrument panel or display panel often locks after having iPhone connected and using AirPlay. Have to disconnect iPhone and at times even turn off car to reset the instrument panel display. This is a hassle and if using maps can be inconvenient while driving. Audio main head unit (Honda p/n 39171-T2F-A71) produces loud static from radio speakers. The noise becomes extremely loud. The loud static continues even if the audio system power is turned off. The noise is so loud it is disorienting. The only way to stop the noise is to pull off the road and turn off the engine. The loudness of the static puts the safety of the driver at risk. The problem is intermittent and cannot be reproduced on demand. I provided the mechanic with an audio/video tape of the problem. He told me to contact American Honda about “Goodwill” help provided by them. There are no warning lamps or messages prior to audio main malfunction. My problem first appeared in July 2023. The car is not driveable when the static occurs. Since I cannot drive the car with the loud static, i will have to rent a vehicle. I will report it to American Honda Motor Customer Care on July 18, 2023 to Advised that this problem is a SAFETY issue and is very expensive at $3,500.00.
Engine harness, sensor and gasket needed to be replaced. FAULTY WIRING!!! Bulletin Honda initiated indicated to replace all parts. This is a defect on this vehicle that has been in a very dry climate and has been stored in a garage since purchase. The cost to repair was over $3,100. Honda knows about this issue and has has yet to recall the Accord Sedans for repair. I would like Honda to reimburse me for the cost to replace all parts and labor. This vehicle only has 59,576 miles on it and the original harness should have lasted the lifetime of the vehicle. This is a safety issue.

My 2016 Honda Accord EX-L V6 is on it's 4th starter.A service Bulletin has been issued 16-002 to fix the problem ,but it has not made a difference.I have contacted Honda Corp(Case 13172338) i August 2022 and they did not want to help even though they knew it was a on going problem with V6 owners. The internet has plenty of V6 owners that have the same problem and are left with cars that can't be fixed properly. I believe that since Honda does not have that engine since 2017 they are wishing the customers will just go away.
The radio emits an uncontrollable extreme static. The radio volume, power, or any control will not stop the noise. The sound is so loud the car is not drivable. We removed the fuse to the amplifier and this fixed the uncontrolled static but the radio does not work. This is a huge safety issue as the driver is unable to hear any sirens, horns, or cars outside the vehicle. This issue needs to be addressed in a recall. This is not normal wear.
In 2021, Its been told my starter is beginning to fail. Takes multiple attempts to start car. Does not happen every start up, and seem to not happen when taken in for diagnosis. Mechanic says until it does it everyday don't worry about. Its becoming more frequent, and now the car runs loud and hard. Had a previous issue and had both catalyst converters, and since then its been problem after problem.
The ADAS features of my vehicle have been intermittently functional due to a single camera component failing. This has cause unpredictable braking behavior when the car is driven, as the car's emergency braking function abruptly slow the vehicle on some occasions, but not brake the vehicle on other outings. Additionally, the component failure has caused several dependent MILs to illuminate most times the vehicle is driven, usurping other important MIL notifications such as unrelated component failures and maintenance alerts. The ADAS MIL alerts were not present before the component failure. These issues first started 15 months ago, but I've been informed that the necessary replacement component (multipurpose camera) has been backordered the entire time.
Back up camera fails to work and there is problem with transmission fluid seal leak at least 3 cars had same problem i m not how many owner had same issue with their cars
Wheels are known to collect dirt and it effects tire sensors
Car is stalling and check charge system is popping up on dash . There is a recall for these problems on other accords
BFG Advantage Control P235/40R19 Tire Sidewall has a bulge as well as a crack in the bulge. Noticed while I was walking past tire. If this wasn’t seen before hand the possibility of an accident could’ve occurred.
The contact owns a 2016 Honda Accord. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to start with the check engine warning light and battery warning light illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer who diagnosed that the starter was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The contact indicated that a service bulletin was issued by the manufacturer that addressed the failure. The failure mileage was 75,000.
Rear seat passenger seat belt stopped working. Passenger indicated seat belt wouldn't buckle. Dealer inspected the seat belt and ordered the seat belt buckle on 2/3/2023. Part was ordered at highest priority, but estimated release date from Honda's vendor is 5/28. Four months without critical safety part seems excessive. Honda Customer Service is unable to do anything to expedite availability of part from their vendor.
The daytime running light went out on the drivers side.
Failed transmission that requires replacement with merely 62k mileage
The contact owns a 2016 Honda Accord. The contact stated that the rear-view camera image was distorted. There was no warning light illuminated. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 54,440.

The noise is so loud it is disorienting. The only way to stop the noise is to pull off the road and turn off the engine. The loudness of the static puts the safety of the driver at risk. The problem is intermittent and cannot be reproduced on demand. I provided the Honda dealer with an audio/video tape of the problem. This tape was used by the service department to diagnose the problem. I paid $170 for the diagnostic test. Vehicle was inspected by the Honda dealer. Honda dealer advises the part is on backorder. Tentative availability is April 10, 2023. Vehicle was inspected by two independent auto stereo businesses. They were unable to repair because OEM wire harness is needed. There were no warning lamps or messages prior to audio main malfunction. The problem first appeared in November 2022. The car is not driveable when the static occurs. Since I cannot drive the car with the loud static, I paid the Honda dealer $85 to disconnect the audio main head unit. There is no static, but there is no radio, backup camera, bluetooth functions, etc. The problem was reported to American Honda Motor Customer Care on February 17, 2023. Assigned Case No. 13663941. Requested ETA of backorderd audio main head unit. Advised that this problem was a SAFETY issue. I received a call from American Honda M
Inoperable backup camera causing Rear Cross Traffic Warning and Parking Collision warning malfunction - due to a camera plastic mounting tab breakage issue. This puts the safety of other cars or people behind the vehicle at risk when backing up. There were no warnings of the failure - my wife discovered it when reversing one day and had a near miss.I looked at it and the backup camera is no longer in the proper position. The car only has 18K miles on it. I took it to the Honda dealer and their service team tells me one of the camera mounts is broken and it happens all the time. They tell me the Accord backup camera usage is extremely high due to mounting tabs breaking. I spoke with my local Honda garage and they told me they see this issue all the time. I called multiple Honda Dealer Parts Dept's across the country and they all tell me usage is very high and the cameras are on back order. There were four Technical Service Bulletins issued on this 2016 Accord to check for backup camera usage: MC-10187541-0001, MC-10189132-0001, MC-10189839-0001 & MC-10190945-0001 - in February through March 2021. The 2017+ Accords had been recalled by NHSTA for "inoperable" camera software as it was considered a safety issue in the past. Most recently (in 2023) Honda FIT and HR-V models were recalled by the NHSTA related to backup camera issues. The design of the backup camera was also changed as the part number for the replacement does not match the original & yet Honda is not retrofitting th
Both low beam headlights burn out at the "same time". This has happened twice in 1 year. I have not had any inspections done yet. If this happens at night or in a tunnel it could be life threatening. Purchased used from a friend who has taken care of the vehicle. I have not checked with him to see if he ever had it happen due to he is no longer living here. First time I just replaced both bulbs and they worked fine. Now about 8 months later same problem. No moisture visible. High beams work but only when switch is in automatic mode. I will replace again, nothing else I can do at the moment.
I HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE BACKUP CAMERA IT OUTLINES HOWEVER THE PICTURE IS NOT WORKING AND HAS BEEN OUT FOR SOME TIME I HAVE ASKED THE HONDA DEALER TO LOOK AT THIS MATTER AND IT WAS NEVER RESOLVED ALSO TOOK THE CAR TO BE SERVICED MANY TIMES, SO I STARTED TAKING THE CAR FOR SERVICE ELSE WHERE AND WAS TOLD THEY CAN NOT HELP ME, THIS IS A SAFETY MATTER I AM LOOKING TO GET THIS MATTER RESOLVED I HAVE BEEN PARKING AND AVOIDING BACKING UP DUE TO THIS PROBLEM I NEED ANSWERS AND THE PROBLEM FIXED THANK YOU [XXX] INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
The contact owns a 2016 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while driving approximately 55-60 MPH, the check engine, power steering, traction control, and TPMS warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle lost power, but the driver was able to pull over safely. The contact stated that the gear shift indicator was blank. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who retrieved code: P2138 (Incorrect voltage position sensor and throttle body sensor). The throttle body and accelerator pedal were replaced, but the failure recurred. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted but no additional assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 53,000.
I'm having another CVT issue this is the second time. The first time was 2 /12 of 20 with a mileage of 15,861 the transmission was slipping around the speed of 52 to 60 mph the dealership did a software update and it seemed to help the situation on the high end speed. More recently the car was back at the dealership once again on 11/23 of 22 with the mileage of 37,854. The tech felt the hesitation an the jerking motion but no codes were found the check engine light is not on. He drained the transmission fluid checking for debris and didn't find any, he performed an ecm/pcm reset, Idle learn, throttle body learn, with no change in condition. He States maybe showing signs of early transmission issue. The service manager is aware of the situation as well but he told me they don't service the Transmissions they just remove and replace them and the cost would be around $6,000 very unacceptable for a car that has 40,000 miles on it. I've tried reaching out to the service manager several times but it it just goes to a voicemail that says text him or email him and I've done both and have not heard any response back and that's been over a month ago. The warning lamp has never been on but the condition with the CVT transmission of hesitating and jerking is still on going it happens more when the car is warm then when the car is cold. The vehicle is available for inspection at any time and I wish they would look at it and figure it out rather than just say it might possibly be an intern
On 12/29/22, while in our driveway and preparing to leave home, our forward-facing daughter alerted us to a functionality issue with her car seat straps. The child was able to pull herself all the way forward while strapped into her car seat. After tightening the straps several times, the issue persisted and she continued to be able to fully loosen the straps by simply leaning forward. This demonstrated the way she would have flown forward in the event of an accident, because the straps were not properly restraining her. The car seat was removed from the vehicle and brought inside the home for closer inspection. The locking mechanism in the base of the seat, which typically allows a parent to tighten the straps but then locks the straps in place to prevent loosening, had clearly been rendered nonfunctional. Despite visually appearing functional and safe, the mechanism was not functioning correctly. At that time, a flashlight was used to inspect the mechanism closer. A very small shard of mulch was the culprit. We suspect this mulch must have fallen from our child’s clothing, fallen through the designated strap’s hole in the car seat cover, insidiously jammed itself into the locking mechanism during a routine tightening, and rendered the lock nonfunctional. We believe this to be a significant safety issue that could feasibly repeat without redesign of the mechanism and/or cover of the seat. The mechanism should not be designed in such a way that external items (mulch, food, et
Driver's side front LED lights went out. I do not see any reason for this, it just stopped working. I am worried this may be a safety issue as these LED lights are now permanently off.
7 year old child sitting behind father when vehicle was hit from behind causing intrusion into the vehicle pushing the rear seat area forward; from the impact, driver's seatback yielded/failed significantly into the child's rear seating position area causing permanent catastrophic brain injuries to the child. Vehicle is currently being stored and preserved for evidence at SAFE, 6775 Hollister Ave., Goleta, CA 93117. Inspections of the vehicle are anticipated in the future.
Radio/audio causing a loud static un bearable noise that won’t turn off even when Turing the radio off an volume all the way down. My concern here is it’s very hard to focus on driving on the road when this occurs since I’m not able to hear anything around me or able to receive phone calls or emergency calls since it is basically impossible to do anything at all until i completely stop somewhere an shut the car completely off. I think not being able to hear traffic around me for example someone honking or a police car, fire truck, ambulance is a real big Hazard. I see a lot of people online that are having the same issue so that’s why I’m here reporting this. I think it def should be reviewed as a hazard safety concern this type of thing can potential cause more trouble on the road for those who suffer from the same issue an other individuals on the road. I have a video of this issue but I am not able to upload it here if I can email the video that would be great.
On Wednesday, September 21, 2022, my wife was parking her car in the parking lot of a TJ Maxx, 4220 Summer Ave, Memphis, TN 38122. As she turned right into the parking space, at a very low rate of speed, 1-2 mph, the engine revved and launched her into another parked vehicle. Once the engine revved and launched she had both feet on the brake pedal. It did light damage to the vehicle she hit and moderate damage to her 2016 Honda Accord Coupe. The impact was hard enough to deploy the driver side airbag. No one was in the other vehicle and she did not sustain serious injury. The car was towed to a body shop. The other vehicle was drivable and insurances were exchanged.
Car burns 1 qt of oil every 3k miles. More oil needs to be added between regular service intervals or the engine will become damaged from lack of oil.
Driving about 40 mph on a city street with moderate traffic, and the car started to drift uncontrollably, as if sliding on ice. I felt no control with the steering wheel. It lasted about 20-30 seconds. No warning lights came on. I pulled into a service station, and checked the tire pressure and it was normal. Continued on my way and no other problems. I have not taken the car into the shop for any inspection as of yet. I felt that I was at extreme safety risk with the car drifting uncontrollably, had it veered into other lanes of traffic.
2016 Honda Accord - sedan (48,000 miles) is pulling to the right. (Hands Free) at the count of 3, the vehicle is off the road (Scary!). Took to Honda dealer for service. Wheel alignment was done. Expensive Continental tires (2 years olds) were moved from front to the back. I returned to the dealer once I left the service center because it seemed even worse. The Advisor took it for a test drive and said it was because I was on a hill/slope. A few days later, I test drove the car with a friend who said for certain I have a problem. I have an appointment to go back to the Honda service center again. I do not know if this is a alignment problem? or bad tires? There is a Solution to every Problem. Find the Answer.
The contact owns a 2016 Honda Accord. The contact stated upon parking the vehicle, the dashboard lights were turned off. Additionally, the contact attempted to shift into drive(D) but the gear shifter remained seized in the park(P). The contact turned off the vehicle and attempted to drive; however, the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was towed to the dealer however, the mechanic was not able to duplicate the failure. The dealer later informed the contact that the fuse box underneath the dashboard needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 50,100.
I have a 2016 Honda Accord EX -L. V6 .it has 100500 miles .In that time it has gone through 3 starters.Honda has issued a service bulletin( 16-002) but never a recall.Checking the internet there a lot of people having the same problem.I have filed a complaint with Honda motor and they want to split the cost of repair. I don’t think that’s fair because it is a known problem because of a design flaw
2016 Honda Accord EX-L coupe radio display panel went blank, including screen above main panel. There appears to be no power to panel, cameras thus I can not turn on radio, use Map which at times can be critical and all panel features are unavailable due to dead panel. The safety lane changing camera and back up camera do not work. Not sure what caused this. Fuses appear ok.
Starter motor failed at 60k miles.
My clock and rear view camera stopped working at the same time. Everything else still works.
Burns oil. Have to add a quart every 1000 miles.
Computer failed. Dashboard lights keep going on and off. Checked by a mechanic and confirmed Battery sensor failure. It’s dangerous to drive the car when dashboard lights are on because it doesn’t respond normally to speed paddle or brakes and engine shuts down suddenly.

NHTSA publishes every complaint as the owner wrote it and investigates only a fraction. Spelling, capitalisation and judgement are the filer’s own. What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
