The screen on radio is so bright in the cab when backing is blinding when backing up and dangerous. No way to turn down the brightness.

Shift to Park lights Stays on sometimes.
When I bought the vehicle in October2018, I have taken the vehicle back to the dealership multiple occasions and they refuse to fix this issue. The transmission shifts from first to second gear or second to first gear is clunky, jerks forward and shifts without warning. While sitting at a stoplight, the vehicle will sometimes lurch forward several inches without warning even with your foot on the brake. Furthermore when accelerating between first and second year it's sluggish and takes several seconds to shift from first to second the engine Revs high.
The contact owns a 2019 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the check engine warning light illuminated. Additionally, the battery was draining quickly and was replaced. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but the dealer could not duplicate the failure. The vehicle was then taken to an independent mechanic and diagnosed with brake system failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The failure mileage was approximately 13,000.
Hard shift on take off from 1st to 2nd gear and while driving around random hard erratic shifting. Feels like pickup is getting rear ended. Have take in to Gregg Lair in Amarillo TX and they have reset shift points to no avail. I talked to head service writer and he stated that GM had a problem with their transmission but did not have a remedy for them. He advised to drive for about 3,000 miles and we have and still have the issue. We have been back multiple times and Gregg Lair states that it is still in learn mode after over 10,00 miles. I am a mechanic by trade and in my opinion there is a design flaw with the transmission and/or they have the wrong transmission fluid for the design.
The 2019 GMC SIERRA I own shifts extremely hard from a stopped position or when changing from reverse to drive. The shift is so forceful, that it feels like I have been struck by another vehicle. The overall feeling is that the vehicle is not safe to drive and it is not a reliable mode of transportation. The delayed shift, vibration and jerk, makes this vehicle a hazard to drive, as the ability to predict the issue is impossible. There are no other warning lights, or messages prior to the error. Online forums show this to be a known issue.
My 2019 GMC Sierra was traveling on the highway at 70MPH. The oil cooler line detached, and the truck shut down telling me to get over now. There was oil everywhere. I am shocked it did not catch fire. there was also 7 quarts of oil on the highway I called the dealer, and they are well aware of this problem. They were sorry but there is nothing we can do for you. They told me they do 1-2 oil cooler lines a month. [XXX] INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
2019 Sierra 1500 slt Defective front camera surround only 51,000 miles. Forward collision warning not work, lane departure warning not work, intellibeam head lights not work. Replace camera with labor at the dealer cost me $860.00 dolls.
Transmission jerks, slams, forces a feeling of being rear-ended, delayed acceleration with sudden engagement causing uncontrolled acceleration. I've had it looked at every time I've taken it into the dealership for regular maintenance. They haven't been able to reproduce it as it only happens once, first time after not driving it for a while. No warning lamps or messages ever appear.
Every time I start the engine I get loud ticking noises. This is Lifter noise! I took it into the Dealership and they said the noise was normal. GM is known for having this Lifter problem in the heads. This can destroy my engine, causing premature wear on the lifters themselves.
Transmission shudder, jerk, high engine rev and transmission look ing for a gear to go in then it jerks. traded this truck to gmc to get rid of it. cost me extra money that i would not have spent otherwise. only had 22,000 mi on it.
While driving on a two lane road I proceeded to pass a slow moving vehicle, after accelerating from 45 MPH to 60 MPH my Check Engine light, Service Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and Service Electronic Brake System lights illuminated on my display. My RPMs increased before shifting gears and I noticed a significant loss in power. Thankfully there was not an accident when the incident occurred; however, if an oncoming vehicle or bad weather it could have been a different outcome. I took my vehicle to a GMC dealer to diagnose the issue where I found out my lifters for my valves are bad and my fourth cylinder is inoperable along with a bad CAM. A new vehicle at 65K miles on it should not be having mechanical issues that can pose a danger while driving, putting others and my safety at risk. GM needs to reevaluate the products and materials their using to build engines to ensure there are no flaws starting with the valve lifters.
Vehicle had the "Service ESC" warning come one along with the warning of brake failure do no exceed 43 miles per hour. Called the dealer to discuss options and was told that I could not get in for 1 month..... For a critical failure and known issue this is unfathomable.
I started the vehicle messages popped up stating service power steering drive with care, esc drive with care. at that time i had no power steering and the brakes were spongy. i then drove a short distance stopped turned off the engine and restarted with the same issues. drove home on the next day everything had reset. i then went and set a appointment with the dealer, they found nothing wrong no tripped codes nothing.
System that failed was the air bag system , Yes it can be available for inspection with notification, My family and friend were put at risk when the air bag system deployed in a parked car and seat belt restraints were deployed pulling them back into the seats , not moving and no other cars around it or near it went off Randomly it was NOT IN AN ACCIDENT , injuring the 3 occupants. The problem is still pending , At the dealer, and General motors has been notified . Case 9-6893265248, General Motors Product Assistance Claims (PAC) There has been a police report filled with local officials, I don't think the dealership has inspected , Buy recommendation of GM, since this is none accident related to the air bag system going off randomly, Very freighting to me and my family. No warning lamps no indication of anything wrong with the vehicle, prior to incident, And one of the boys could not exit the car due to the seat belts being cinched down on him during the air bag explosion. Incident happened 8/22/2021 at about 10:15 to 10:30 AM A week latter we are still waiting on answers from general motors as to what happened , This vehicle has never been in an accident , And we have all the service records from the dealership , The only place it has been serviced, GM has download data from the computers, And we have asked for copies of those data files as well, We do have all the service records as well should you need them.
On 6/24 I drove my 2019 gmc Sierra denali truck 2 miles to the store was in there 10 minutes come out to start it and a ESC service warning message appeared then another message appeared say service power steering drive safe then my traction light came on then my trailer light I tried turning truck off then waited 2 minutes pumped brakes started it again same messages appeared I called my husband to tell him I said I will try to drive home as I preceeded to put in gear and back out of parking spot I lost my steering it froze up then lost my brakes I immediately put in gear turned off called husband to come get me as I was waiting I tried to start again when I did all messages were gone and I had steering as well.as brakes but at this point I was a an emotional wreck we just had a horrific scare in same truck on a major interstate my husband completely lost brakes and almost wrecked only to find there was a brake module reprogramming recall on the truck we had not been notified by mail yet so now this if I was driving on main road this could have been fatal so my husband called and dropped off vehicle on 6/25 told them every detail they said they call when done so on July 6th was told truck was ready when he arrived they handed him our keys and invoice said have nice day my husband got to truck read invoice only to find they did nothing to truck he went in to service said why isn't it fixed they said because no codes come up but if it happens again bring it back my husband sai
The contact owns a 2019 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the vehicle loss motive power with the check engine warning light intermittently illuminated. The contact stated that on most occasions, he would be able to restart the vehicle and resume normal driving soon after failure. The contact had taken the vehicle to a dealer on 4 separate occasions and each time the contact was given a different diagnosis. Despite the several diagnoses, the failure persisted after each visit. The manufacturer was also notified of the failure and each time referred him back to the same dealer. The manufacturer offered no further assistance. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 5,000. The VIN was unavailable.
While driving the transmission shifts very hard. And when starting to accelerate from a stop the transmission slips.
Purchesed a 2019 GMC AT4 6.2 w/16300 miles on it on April 19, 2021. Yesterday w/18700 miles are began to exprience a loud ticking sound coming from my engine. The ticking is associated with a failed lifter or lifters. Had to get my truck towed to the dealership for repair.
Vehicle was 300 miles out of warranty when I get a service trailer brake warning on my info center replaced a blown fuse and the fuse blows again, no trailer has ever been hooked up to this truck. Went online and inquired about this problem and there's thousands of post and complaints about this problem, even on a GM site there's a PI investigation about this problem, why doesn't GM just do a recall to fix a problem they know about. I'm getting ready to buy a travel trailer and now I don't know if its safe to pull it!
I RECEIVED A BRAKE CONTROL MODULE WARNING ALERT. THE ALERT INDICATED MY ABS SYSTEM WAS SUBJECT TO FAILURE AND REQUIRED A SOFTWARE PATCH. I SEE THAT THE EXACT ISSUE I HAD WAS SUBJECT TO A RECALL OF 463,000 SIMILAR YEAR AND MODEL VEHICLES. DESPITE THE IDENTICAL ISSUE, IT BEING RELATED TO A FAILURE OF THEIR SOFTWARE THE GMC WEBSITE AND MY DEALER REFUSED TO COVER MY VEHICLE CLAIMING IT WAS NOT PART OF THE RECALL

TRANSMISSION SHAKES RATTLES AND JERKS AND HAS SINCE I GOT IT BRAND NEW. INTERMITTENT ISSUE NORMALLY BUT SOMETIMES IT'S EXTREMELY AGGRESSIVE AND LEGITIMATELY CAUSES A WHIPLASH MOTION
TRANSMISSION FEELS SLUGGISH AND JERKS. WHEN COMING TO A STOP FEELS LIKE YOUR BEING REAR ENDED. STEREO SYSTEM FREEZES AND GOES SILENT NO SOUND WHAT DO EVER
ON SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 27, 2021, MY HUSBAND (DRIVER) AND MYSELF (PASSENGER) WERE TRAVELING ON A SAINT LOUIS HIGHWAY AND THE REAR PASSENGER TIRE SUDDENLY BLEW WITH NO WARNING. THERE WERE NO TIRE PRESSURE OR OTHER WARNINGS DISPLAYED ON THE DASH OF THE TRUCK. AFTER PULLING OVER, WE DISCOVERED THE ENTIRE SIDE OF THE TIRE HAD COMPLETELY BLOWN (LARGE HOLES OVER THE ENTIRETY OF THE WALL OF THE TIRE). IT WAS NOT UNTIL A MINUTE OR TWO AFTER THE TIRE BLEW THAT THE TRUCK DISPLAYED A LOW TIRE PRESSURE WARNING. AFTER RESEARCHING THE TIRE MAKER'S WEBSITE, I DISCOVERED A RECALL FOR THE EXACT TIRE HOWEVER, THE DATE AS LISTED ON THE DOT NUMBER WAS ONE WEEK OFF. OUR TIRES SHOULD HAVE ALSO BEEN INCLUDED IN THE RECALL AS THE DESCRIPTION OF THE TIRE MAKER'S DEFECT WAS EXACTLY AS IT OCCURRED WHEN OUR TIRE BLEW OUT.
WHEN I GO OVER CERTAIN HUMPS IN THE ROAD WHILE GRASPING THE STEERING WHEEL WITH BOTH HANDS, THE STEERING WHEEL SLIPS OUT OF ITS LOCKING POSITION AND SHIFTS UP AND DOWN AS I PASS THRU THE HUMP. I HAVE OWNED THE VEHICLE 3 MONTHS AND HAS HAPPENED ON TWO OCCASIONS. WHILE MY VEHICLE IS COVERED BY WARRANTY (SO NOT LOOKING FOR ANY MONETARY COMPENSATION) IT ALMOST CAUSED ME TO LOSE CONTROL OF MY VEHICLE AND SEEMED LIKE A POTENTIAL HAZARD FOR OTHER DRIVERS.
2019 GMC SIERRA WITH 56K MILES WHEN ACCELERATING TRANSMISSION SEEMS TO GET STUCK IN FIRST GEAR MAKES IDOL SOUNDS RPMS JUMP UP THEN HARD SHIFT INTO SECOND, MAKES THE TRUCK JERK WHEN IT HAPPENS, SINCE THE ISSUE STARTED IT HAPPENS EVERY TIME I DRIVE IT. I TOOK IT TO LOCAL GMC DEALERSHIP ON 2/9/21 MANAGER SAID 'YES IT'S A KNOWN ISSUE WITH GMC & THAT YEAR MODEL TRUCKS' 2 DAYS LATER CALLED TO SEE STATUS OF TRUCK MANGER SAID HIS TRANSMISSION GUY FOUND THE ISSUE AND FIXED IT SAID COMPUTER AND TRANSMISSION NOT TALKING TO EACH OTHER DID A 'TRANSMISSION RELEARN' WAS COVERED UNDER POWER TRAIN WARRANTY. I HAD THE TRUCK BACK LESS THAN 24 HOURS AND NOW BACK TO HAVING THE SAME ISSUES AGAIN! CLEARLY IT'S NOT FIXED AND CONCERNING THIS IS GOING TO BE A SAFETY ISSUE WHILE DRIVING! GMC 'KNOWN' ISSUE THEN ISSUE A RECALL AND FIX IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME!
1ST TIME ENGINE CHECK LIGHT CAME ON HAD BRAKE CONTROL UPDATED. 2ND DID AUTO START AND AFTER THAT TRUCK WILL NOT START. AFTER 3 HOURS CAN START THE TRUCK BUT BRAKE CONTROL TRACTION CONTROL ABS WERE OFF. ENGINE HAS REDUCE POWER. DEALER UPDATED THE TRUCK AND CHECK BATTERY. 3RD TIME TRUCK WILL NOT POWER ON. AFTER JUMP STARTING THE TRUCK IT POPS UP ALL OF PREVIOUS MESSAGE. AND RUNNING BOARD KEEP POPPING IN AND OUT AND TRUCK WILL STILL DRAIN POWER EBVEN WHEN OFF.
I HAVE 48,000 MILES ON MY TRUCK , 2019 MODEL. I JUST EXPERIENCE MY STEERING WHEEL TO GET STIFF WITHOUT THE POSSIBILITY TO MANEUVER IT WHEN IT WAS STATIONARY. MY DASH BRINGS A TWO MESSAGES, " SERVICE ESC," " SERVICE POWER STEERING." I WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP TO CHECK IF THERE HAS BEEN ANY RECALLS AND THE ANSWER THE WAS NEGATIVE. I DID MY RESEARCH AND ON PREVIOUS MODELS THERE HAS BEEN EXISTING RECALLS ON THIS ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING ISSUE. " 2018 GMC SIERRA MODELS AND BELOW ," I SINCERELY FEEL THIS SHOULD BE FILE AS SAFETY COMPLAINT. THE VEHICLE IS TO NEW HAVE THIS SORT OF ISSUE. IT'S NOT A MECHANICAL FAILURE BUT A ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING PROBLEM. *TR

DAM TRUCK ITS ON PARK BUT KEEPS DISPLAYING A MESSAGE SAYING SHIFT TO PARCK,,,, TOOK TO DEALERSHIP THEY COULDN'T FIND THE PROBLEM , THEY ASKED TO START BY CHANGING THE SHIFT TO PARK HANDLER AND '''WILL GO FROM THERE '''THAT'S WHAT THEY SAID, WORSE TRUCK I EVER HAD,,,AND ALL THIS STARTED RIGHT AFTER 36000 MILES,,,
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE 21OCT2020 IT STARTED WHINING AND JERKING. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE IT CHECKED THEY COULDN'T SEE US, SO WE TOOK IT TO A DIFFERENT GMC DEALERSHIP THAT SAID THE CODES HAD NOT BEEN UPDATED, THEY PREFORMED THE RECALL AND SAID IT SHOULD BE FINE. TWO DAYS LATER IT STARTED JERKING AGAIN AND SHUT OFF WHEN STOPPED AT A LIGHT. I TOOK IT TO THE GMC DEALERSHIP WE BOUGHT IT FROM ON THE 28OCT2020 AND I WAS TOLD THAT THE TRUCK WAS FINE, AND THAT THE DIAGNOSTICS SHOWED NO PROBLEMS WHATSOEVER. THE TECH SAID HE WOULD DRIVE IT OUT OF THE BAY, IF BRITTANY WOULD OPEN THE DOOR AND BEFORE HE COULD DRIVE IT THROUGH THE GARAGE BAY AREA AND OUT THE GARAGE BAY DOOR THE TRUCK MADE A CRAZY LOUD NOISE, JERK TO A SUDDEN STOP AND THE TRANSMISSION WENT OUT, AND THE TRUCK WOULD NOT RESTART AT ALL AND HAD TO BE TOWED OUT OF THE BAY DOOR. THE 2019 TRUCK HAS HAD 5 RECALLS FOR SAFETY ISSUES AND WITH 40,000 MILES THE TRANSMISSION WENT ALL THE WAY OUT AND THE TRUCK HAS BEEN SITTING THERE AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR OVER A MONTH WAITING ON THE NEW TRANSMISSION TO COME FROM GMC. I GO IN AND SEE THE TRANSMISSION RECALL ON SO MANY 8 SPEED TRANSMISSION WHICH THIS TRUCK HAS, AND NOW I FEEL LIKE I WAS SOLD A LEMON AND NO ONE SEEMS TO CARE. % RECALLS AND THE TRANSMISSION GOES OUT COMPLETELY AT 40,000 MILES. I AM SO UPSET ABOUT IT THAT I DO NOT EVEN WANT THE TRUCK ANYMORE. IT IS GOING TO RUIN MY RESALE VALUE AND THE LEMON LAW SHOULD APPLY ON A TRUCK ONE YEAR OLD. I HAVE FILED COMPLAINTS WITH THE DE
DRIVING AT ROUGHLY 3 MILES PER HOUR IN 4 WHEEL HIGH ON A GRAVEL ROAD.THE AXLE BROKE AND THE TIRE COLLAPSED. I STRONGLY BELIEVE SOMETHING IS DEFECTIVE. (MAYBE A WELD ISSUE?)
EXCESSIVE BRIGHTNESS AT NIGHT ON BACK UP CAMERA WHEN PUTTING TRUCK IN REVERSE. GLARE IS SO BRIGHT, I CAN'T SEE ANYTHING IN CAMERA OR MY OUTSIDE REAR VIEW MIRRORS. I HAVE ACTUALLY GOTTEN OUT OF MY TRUCK TO MAKE I AM NOT GOING TO BACK INTO SOMETHING OR SOMEONE. WHEN IT IS RAINING AT NIGHT...FORGET IT, YOU JUST GUESS WHAT IS BACK THERE AND HOPE FOR THE BEST. I HANG A TOWEL OVER IT NOW WHEN I BACK UP AT NIGHT, IT IS A $60,000.00 TRUCK...WOW.
REAR VIEW CAMERA STARTING WORKING INTERMITTENTLY. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER TO REPAIR. DEALER UPDATED SOFTWARE AND THE PROBLEM PERSISTED THE SAME DAY. RANDOM SCREEN FOR JUST THE BACKUP CAMERA WILL BE EITHER BLACKED OUT OR BLUE STATING TO SERVICE REAR CAMERA SYSTEM. HAVE TAKEN MY VEHICLE BACK TO THE SAME DEALER THREE SEPARATE OCCASIONS TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE TO NO AVAIL. NOW THAT MY WARRANTY IS EXPIRED THEY HAVE A FIX THAT WILL COST ME OUT OF POCKET. THEY ARE OFFERING COST ASSISTANCE BUT THE PROBLEM WAS NEVER RESOLVED IN THE FIRST PLACE.
THE VOLUME CONTROLS ON THE STEERING WHEEL KEEP GETTING STUCK GOING UP CAUSING THE VOLUME TO GO ALL THE WAY UP AND WON'T LET YOU TURN IT DOWN. THIS HAS CAUSED ME NOT TO BE ABLE TO PLAY MUSIC BECAUSE WHEN I DO IT HURTS MY EARS CAUSING ME TO SWERVE.
BACK UP CAMERA GETS FUZZY AND HAS LINES GOING THROUGH THE SCREEN WHEN I HIT THE BRAKES. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AS MY NEPHEW RAN BEHIND MY TRUCK AND I COULD NOT SEE HIM.

TRAVELING AT 68MPH, A DEER JUMPED IN FRONT OF ME AND I STRUCK THE DEER HARD ENOUGH TO CAUSE RADIATOR TO DUMP THE FLUID ONTO THE ROAD. SEAT BELTS LOCKED AND THE AIRBAG SYSTEM FIRED. SMOKE FILLED THE CAB AND THE COMPUTER REGISTERED AS AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. BUT THERE WERE NO AIRBAGS PHYSICALLY COME OUT INTO THE VEHICLE.
FIRST FEELING WAS, I WAS DRIVING IN A PARKING LOT GOING MAYBE 5 MILES AN HOUR AND I FELT A VIBRATION IN THE BRAKE PEDAL. PULLED ONTO THE MAIN ROAD AND APPROACHED A STOP LIGHT WHEN THE TRUCK STOPPED A LITTLE HARD AS I WAS DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL. AS I STARTED PRESSING ON THE GAS WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN, I WAS TRAVELING AROUND 35 MPH OR SO, WHEN THE TRUCK CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP IN WHICH MYSELF & PASSENGER WERE SLIGHTLY THROWN FORWARD DUE TO THE ABRUPT STOP FOR NO APPARENT REASON. THE VEHICLE IN BACK OF ME NEARLY REAR ENDED ME DUE TO THE ABRUPT STOP THE TRUCK DID. I IMMEDIATELY CONTACTED THE DEALER, IN WHICH AFTER SEVERAL DAYS IN THE SHOP, THE DEALER TOLD ME THAT GMC KNEW ABOUT THIS PARTICULAR ISSUE BUT HAS NOT ISSUED A RECALL. THE DEALER WAS INSTRUCTED TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE, DUE TO A MALFUNCTION IN THE TCM THAT APPARENTLY WAS TRYING TO SHUT THE TRUCK DOWN COMPLETELY. THEREFORE CAUSING THE TRUCK TO STOP ABRUPTLY WITH NO WARNING.

THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED AS OF YET. THE MANUFACTURER HAD BEEN INFORMED OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 5,000.
THE TRANSMISSIONS WILL SHUDDER AND DELAY SHIFTING GEARS. I HAVE PULLED INTO A PARKING LOT AND PUT IT IN PARK, THEN I REALIZE I'M A FOOT BACK I PUT IT BACK IN DRIVE, THE CAR DOESN'T DO ANYTHING FOR A SECOND THEN IT LURCHES FORWARD IN AN UNSAFE / UNCONTROLLED MANNER. OFTEN BACKING OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY, THEN PUTTING IT INTO PARK AND THE SAME DELAY THEN LAUNCH HAPPENS. GM HAS SERVICED IT 3 TIMES AND THE PROBLEMS STILL EXIST BUT THE SHIFTING IS NOW MUCH MORE ROUGH THAN BEFORE. THE PROBLEM & RISK CONTINUE TODAY.

NHTSA publishes every complaint as the owner wrote it and investigates only a fraction. Spelling, capitalisation and judgement are the filer’s own. What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
