General Motors sent out email to all GM Dealers on 7/1/2021 regarding recall N202324251 which stated until further notice the involved vehicles that are in dealers' possession new or used inventory must be held and cannot be delivered to customers, dealer traded, etc. I traded for this vehicle on 12/3/2021. Finally got to talk with her on 2/23/2022 for 5 minutes and was told that buy back had to be approved first and was put on hold for 1 hour while she looked up the case on her computer. I am not driving this vehicle.since it states that roof rail can explode while sitting idle. I want a full refund and the dealer to pick up the vehicle.
The A/C condenser is defective, one of the three welds it has is leaking due to lack of proper welding.

I was driving and my nephew says there was smoke in the truck then all of a sudden there was a huge pop and my rear passenger window shattered! I had found online that this has happened to several people but there is no recall in the US. Something to do with the remote start putting on the defrost and the connection exploding. If this is happening a lot i believe it should be replaced.
The brake pedal gets hard to push down when slowing down and especially when backing up slowly. After looking into some things I'm pretty sure the problem is with the vacuum pump.
On 9/22/2020 a recall service was performed on my defroster/ power sliding rear window under N192265660. On 1/13/2022 I was driving down the road with the rear defroster on, a smell of burning plastic and a low hissing noise. I was in the process of pulling over to inspect this and the back window of my pickup burst, sending me swerving onto the side of the road. I booked an appointment with the dealer, they are telling me they cannot replace this since the recall was already serviced. Obviously the fix GM is putting into our vehicles is as dangerous as the original design. This needs to be remedied and GM needs to be held accountable, bursting rear windows can cause terrible accidents, luckily I am safe.

At first my brakes began locking up on the vehicle, almost as if they were pumped full and not able to press down any longer, shortly after that the stabilitrack light came on and white smoke began to come out of the exhaust as well as a slight shake in the engine, i immediately turned the vehicle off and parked it, mind you i bought the vehicle 1 day ago and it is already broke down, the issue is with gmc and these sensors they are using they are faulty engine reduces speed and it is not safe to say the least.not only that but had the exact same problems with my Gmc Acadia which i finally got the light to stop going off after replacing transmission, brake pedal position censor, as well as gas pedal position censor, also had the throttle body replaced, Do you all make products that are worth anything, nothing was ever done about the Acadia, the Gmc sierra is a 2015 with 70,000 miles on it this car should not be acting like this please contact me at [XXX] thank you so much for your time, also there are 14 recalls on this year truck yet mine shows that there are 0 recalls to be fixed I am wondering about this as well. INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
Steering Suddenly stops working when making a turn and have no control of the steering . Happen 3 times yesterday almost was in a accident. Then starts working again.
GM issued a recall notice on July 1, 2021, regarding the rear curtain airbags in my Sierra. To this date (12/27/21), they have still not provided an ETA for getting this remedied. I called the dealership in September, to which they stated it would be another month before they could address it. I am wanting to be proactive to get this issue remedied, but the delay is unacceptable. I am escalating this to get some traction.
Service Trailer Brake Brake System error keeps flashing.
The component that malfunctioned is the vehicle braking system at slow speeds. I first experienced the problem at a restaurant drive thru line. After several stops as the line advanced, the braking system failed (extremely hard pedal) and car kept advancing and if someone would have been directly in front of me ( at a normal distance for a drive thru ) I would have made contact with them at a slow speed. I checked with my dealer the next day and they said that there were no reported problems for this issue on my vehicle. No warning lamps or messages present but it seems to me to be similar to the recall ( N192268490 ) as it only happens at slow speed with repeated application of the brake. There were no symptoms of the problem prior to this incident and it took me completely by surprise. I took the vehicle in to a service facility and they test drove it and said that they did not recreate the failure but I believe that they didn't try repeated braking at slow speed as I requested. I feel that there is a problem and that it only shows up during the aforementioned driving conditions. I have checked your website and the manufacturers and my truck VIN doesn't show up for their computer reprogramming recall but think that maybe it should.
My back window just made a loud pop sound. I have a back window that had an electic sliding widow. Which means the back window is in 3 sections (driver side, middle sliding window, and passenger side). The driver side of the back window was completely shattered. It's hard to see from the outside but from the inside it is spider cracked everywhere. I believe that I had my rear defrost on at the same time. Nothing hit my window to cause this.
I had my rear defrost on and it started smoking on the rear drivers side window and smelled like something burning and I parked at a gas station a couple of minutes later. The rear window completely shattered. The glass stayed intact but my 6 year old son was sitting in the backseat and it scared him half to death. I looked up recalls and this is known issue with these vehicles sold in Canada. This just happened and it hasn't been looked at my anyone.
Truck will experience complete electrical failure while driving in motion at various speeds. Failure lasts between 5-10 seconds but causes severe difficulty as steering is affected. A web search reveals grounding issue as potential cause. Manufacturer has not notified me of this particular issue and or any recall effort and I know of no existing recall effort for this issue.
Becomes hard to turn steering wheel at slow speeds, more often while in reverse. On one occasion, a Stabilitrak message popped up as a warning and then the engine died. Does not happen every time but has happened enough to take it to the dealership. They concluded that it could not be duplicated so they could not properly diagnose the issue. They had the truck for 3 days of testing. The engine failure is seriously concerning to me due to having my children with me most of the time.
Trailer Brake system warning continues to pop up on my dash along with the chimes. Not sure if this will affect my braking or not, but I pull a 32' camper and am continually concerned about this warning. It happens randomly not just when towing a camper. It has been in to a GMC dealer and they say nothing can be done about it due to no recalls.
I bought my 2015 gmc sierra 1500 certified and since then it has had vibrations when driving and hard shifts. The dealer has looked it over many times and said it's normal. Last month they said they sent gmc the readings and I haven't heard back. They have lied to me before about other vehicles and I'm tired of dealing with them not fixing it.
Alert of “service trailer brake system” keeps beeping and alerting many times while driving
I was leaving a parking lot and I lost all power steering and had to find a way into a safe spot to park. Just had it dropped off at the dealer. The truck steering wheel felt odd when I pulled in but it finally locked up as I was leaving going about 5 mph
Transmission. just like others with this year and mine went out .i was going like 50-55mph and i almost got into a accident while my son was with me . truck started sputtering and shifting up and down check engine light, stabilitrack, and something else, my truck seemed like it was down shifting and not going into gear, rpms were going from 1000 to 2000 and truck was shaking and started making a howling noise. it felt like i had a misfire in a way. its available for inspection, i
Power Steering difficult, truck ekectrical components cut on and off. Usually happens when turning. 3 near misses in vehicular crash
The headlights are very poor. Can hardly see at night. They're no better when on high beams.
While operation my 2015 GMC 1500 DENALI Pickup at normal conditions my vehicle produced a engine light. I was three blocks from my office so I proceeded there immediately to have my vehicle scanned for codes. This is where I found out that cylinder #7 had an issue. This cylinder is part of the AFM system. I had the vehicle towed to Galles Chevrolet for diagnostic services and an estimate for repairs. Up receiving the results (which) I will attach. Bank 1 and possibly Bank 2 lifters and springs have failed. Thus possibly cause damage to the cam shaft. While I am aware that my vehicle is out of powertrain warranty (5 years / 100,000 mile), my vehicle only has 52,000 miles on it and very very well taken care of at all times. I am also aware of a class action law suite that pertained to the same exact issue on gm products from 2004-2014. Also service bulletins were produced by GM pertaining to this issue. Now I have been out of service of my vehicle for 3 1/2 weeks not to mention a potential $7000 repair, that should have never been in the picture! Poor quality control on products for potential profit gains have cost many many customers pain, anguish, and money.

Incident has happened multiple time. When put on the computer to see if problem, does not show anything. Incident: 1)Driving on highway and truck completely loses power and electrical notification come on. Have limited power and electrical notification stayed on continually. Had to take in for repair. This happened May of 2018. 2)While driving on highway, used signal to change lanes and lost engine power. Had some electrical flickers and steering issue. Multiple times in last 6 months, sporadic. 3)When signaling and turning steering wheel, lost engine power. Also had problems with electrical/computer issues. Multiple times in last 6 months, sporadic 4)When slowing down, signaling, and turning steering wheel, after turn completed and start accelerating, transmission seem to be missing. This issue is sporadic and has been doing this since I have had the vehicle new. All these incidents have happened sporadically, with not pre-warning indicators and when having the truck check on the computer, with the exception of (#1) showed no issues.

Power steering has went out multiple times when turning in parking lots. Without power steering its very hard to navigate the truck especially when you don't expect it to go out. No warning lights came on and power steering goes back to working fine after these episodes

Back seat middle seat seatbelt not functioning. Plastic protector at the top fell apart and the seat belt cannot be pulled to be adjusted and fastened. Not able to use.
The first issue is popping coming from the front end of the vehicle causing a steering issue. This has been "repaired" multiple times with no resolution. Every time the popping occurs which is almost every turn the steering wheel will not turn. The next issue is the radio is causing driver distraction by changing stations and screens not just on the display itself but the instrument cluster as well. The radio has been replaced once due to the fact it was on backorder for 6 months another attempt has not been made. The third issue is the brakes have failed at slow speeds no warning lights were on, they just stopped working in the Mcdonald's drive-through. I had to get out of line to keep from rear-ending the person in front of me. Now, after that experience, the ABS light has come on and the service StabiliTrak flashes on the dash as well as parking assist off, everytime I hit the brakes. .
Curtain air bags deployed after loosing traction a bit in the highway also causing seat belts to get locked. Acceleration pedal will get stuck at times. Needed to push brake pedal half ways or more for brakes to kick in. GM brake recall seems to have fixed that. A/C condenser and compressor continue to fail.
My GMC Sierra has the RRAB recall. Vin has already been provided. I asked GMC in a chat (all recorded) if the truck is safe to drive. I explained that I am a disabled veteran. I have numerous issues but one has to do with not having full use of my right hand. I drive with my left and support with my right. I asked them if they though I could safely drive the vehicle knowing that information and they refused to answer uttering that parts are not available and be reassured that when they become available they will call. That truck is my only source of transportation. I need that vehicle to get me to chemotherapy sessions, yes I have cancer too!!! I need to know if the vehicle is safe to drive and if not, what is GMC going to do to fix this issue. I'm sure parts must be available but I doubt that disabled veterans or Joe public are not he priority list. I just want it fixed. I don't want song and dances, I've heard enough of that in the military and working for the military. I just need it fixed. Is your agency going to step up to the plate and tell them that these vehicles are not safe to drive? I bought a GMC for its reliability and their follow through, GMC clearly doesn't have my 6. Will the NHTSA have my 6 or is this just another shafting of a veteran?
The contact owns a 2015 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated while driving approximately 30 MPH, the steering wheel became difficult to turn and the vehicle lost motive power. The vehicle was able to be restarted and functionality was restored. The contact stated that there was no warning light illuminated. Lost power steering and engine died while turning into lot across oncoming lanes. Oncoming traffic luckily stopped and I placed truck in park, restarted and completed my turn. 4th time I lost power steering and truck died.
At times my vehicle will lose power steering, turns off stabilizer traction control light comes on.There is no warning and does this more at low speed turning.you can't turn the steering wheel when this happens and the breaks hardly work.I have 30,000 miles on vehicle I had this vehicle towed to dealership in 2016 they charged me diagnosed but didn't tell me anything more it's only been to the shop for recalls I do my own maintenance
The contact owns a 2015 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated that while driving at low speeds, there was a reduction in the power steering assist. The stability track and abs warning lights were illuminated. The electronic power assist became inoperable. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer but was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The contact stated the failure was like NHTSA Campaign Number: 18V586000 (Steering). The failure mileage was approximately 87,000.
The contact owns a 2015 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the transmission failed to operate as designed causing the vehicle to sputter and not properly accelerate. Also, the digital speedometer display would not display properly due to a faulty radio. Additionally, the driver’s side headlight failed to properly illuminate due to moisture build-up inside the headlight assembly. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who was unable to duplicate the failure. There was no service performed on the vehicle. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 1,000.
Power steering hard to turn at low speeds and backing up and cluster gauges go dim then back to normal
Power steering goes out and at time turn truck power off whenever i attempt a slow tight turn like backing into my driveway or making tight turns going into parking lots and/or spaces. Most recently, when attempting a u-turn at a busy intersection, power steering went out and engine died. I had to coast to the side to avoid moving traffic. Each time this issue happens i hear 3 dings all my dash & screen lights flash off then on with clicking noises. Dash info changes from speedometer to radio setting. If i look at screen quickly enough when this happens i would sometimes read “rear parking assist unavailable” or something like that. If air conditioning is on it would turn off then on. Doors will unlock then lock, all this happening simaltaneously while attempting to make a turn
Brakes do not work under slow speeds. Pumping breaks at slow speeds (parking lot speeds) causes break pedal to stiffen and the vehicle's breaks are not responsive. When this happens, I feel what seems to be ABS engaging (break pedal pulsates). The pulsating is only noticable in the break pedal. This behavior seems more prevalent in inclement weather.
The contact owns a 2015 GMC Sierra. The contact stated that while driving in stop and go traffic and attempting to depress the brake pedal, the vehicle failed to stop as anticipated instead the vehicle slid into the vehicle in front of them. The brake pedal began to vibrate and a skipping. The vehicle ended up crashing into the rear of the vehicle in front. The air bags did not deploy. A police report was filed. There were no injuries and no medical attention was needed. The vehicle was not towed. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer who were unable to identify the cause for the failure. The vehicle's alternator shocks, braking pump lines, and updated the computer system however, the failure persisted. The contact stated that whenever the brake pedal was depressed several electrical issues would occur like with the navigation screen and all windows would shut off. There were many warning lights including the air bag and stability control. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage 80,000.

NHTSA publishes every complaint as the owner wrote it and investigates only a fraction. Spelling, capitalisation and judgement are the filer’s own. What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
